  Acording to Apple geniuses, there was a problem of hardware and software, and they replaced the phone without hesitation.  It seems odd that all of a sudden it went wrong.  I read in the previous thread that some bad Samsung chips have been used in some phones.

  The screen saver is set to 1 minute and has all of the parameter 'Require a password'.

  If you right-click on the desktop, a menu will appear. Select the option customize at the bottom of the menu.

  This will open a window. Bottom right is a button named "screen saver". Click on it and change the password and time settings.

  It comes to definitelt completely not normal behavior for all Toshiba laptops. Your description of the problem indicates a problem with the inverter FL. It is a small device that offers the backlight of the LCD screen.
