Hello

You were already using successfully your HP recovery discs before this instance? The new HARD drive is connected to the same port SATA (SATA0) the original HARD drive was connected to?

HP sold this PC in two geographic regions: the USA and the France.

The number of product of the USA is Envy h8-1534

The number of the French product is Envyh8-1534ef

The USA product offers a DVD Recovery Kit four Win 64 8 build No. 13NA1RR8601. This build number should be located on the bottom of your Tower. No recovery kit is available for the number of French products.

If you have a h8-1534 then a recovery kit is available here.

You are under warranty? Contact HPfor replacement HARD drive if you are in warranty. I bought four HP from the PC to the HP USA Store and all have come with a two year warranty.

Explain your problem with recovery disks, you did. HP support should be able to help. HP will support your PC with all the components in stock.

Your new hard drive can be any manufacturer of your choice.  in your case, there must be at least 1.5 to and SATA 7200 RPM if you wish your recovery discs to restore your system.

I can read only half of my product key due to wear, but I need to reinstall xp on my hard drive again. How can I get the key?

If you can still boot your old disk, you can use a program such as one of them:

    KeyFinder: <> http://www.magicaljellybean.com/ >
    Belarc Advisor: <> http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html >

to read the key out of your old system.

Also note that if you have a system OEM and the OEM installation disks, the key can be incorporated in the installation discs and can not be necessary when your reinstalling Windows.

  • Satellite A300-1J1 - how to use HARD drive recovery files to install Vista again

I've read the threads that already exist, until anyone there sprang key of course, however I don't see the answers to my questions, so I hope someone can help.

Basically my A300 has been regularly overheating and turning off, and after a recent instance of this, I left it disassembled and cleaned the radiator and the surround carefully.

Unfortunately, reassembly, it became clear that Windows would not start, probably due to some problem caused by the most recent power cut or maybe even within my very careful disassembly?

In any case, Vista does not start, in all modes, either standard, in safe mode or in repair mode. As standard, it screens with a message of error UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME blue etc.

Mode of repair, windows bar logo and green rises, but then it just black screens and no more. Slight variation only I had here, it's that sometimes a white cursor rises, but still a black screen. I left the machine 30 minutes where there was a simple delay, but not... nothing happens, it just hangs.

I have no CD of restoration, because I did not create one, but I was able to access all the files via the platform of Knoppix, and everything seems in order, so important HARD drive corruption seems unlikely.

I see records to get Toshiba HDD and also Windows RE, so my question to you people is as follows; Is it possible that I can use these files that are still in tact to get Vista without buying a disc for £ 30 from Toshiba?

My concern is, I don't see why the supposed recovery integrated does not work given that the associated files still seem present and intact on the disk, and I'm reluctant to lose 30 pounds on something, if it is not guaranteed to work in all cases.

What would you recommend I do?
My files are backed up and whatever is left is not important... I just want to restore my Vista more quickly, more simple, the cheapest possible.

    Hey,.

Unfortunately I think that there is nothing you can do because the files are unnecessary if disk HARD recovery doesn't work because you must be able to access the Windows Advanced Boot menu.

I agree with you, it's not good recovery disc HARD Toshiba doesn't work for you, but you must also understand s your fault if you didn't create the recovery disk as mentioned in the user manual. ;)

So either buy you a new recovery disk or you are using a Microsoft Windows disk to reinstall Windows. All drivers and tools that you can download on the page of Toshiba.

    Hello Paul

Well, are not good news but it shouldn't be a problem to solve this problem.

You can go into advanced with F8 boot menu? If Yes, select Repair my computer and follow the instructions on the screen. All that s. So, you can use HARD drive recovery.

If you can t go into the advanced boot menu you should use the Toshiba recovery disc. You burn it? You need to start only with her and Windows will be reinstalled.
If you don t have the recovery disc, you can order one at Toshiba directly:

  • How to recover only drive C on a Satellite P200-1FJ

Hi, I have a Satellite P200-1FJ and I want to recover Vista but only on my first partition.
My HARD drive is divided into 3 partitions and I don't want to loose data. How can I retrieve the C partition only using the recovery CD of the product came with my laptop?

Unfortunately, this is not possible using the Toshiba Vista recovery CD!

The recovery CD would delete all partitions on the HARD drive!

  • load a second XP on my computer and then deleted. now my HDD has been split into disc 1 and disc 2 (not partitioned - split) any IDE on how to recover the drive like one?

    • Had a non legitimate copy of xp so I bought a legitimate copy and tried to load it on the former, but he wouldn't.
    • My computer is configured to dual boot with win98, then from 98, I loaded xp.
    • I thought that maybe if I started 98 then loaded the new xp from there he would charge ok. Which he did. But being the dummy that I am does not he would not recognize one of my other programs that have been installed in the old XP. So in my frustration I just deleted it (I don't think I uninstalled it for some reason any) in any case, I found that I could load some codes from microsoft that allowed me to get into the new xp on my old xp product code and it worked fine.
    • However, when I looked at my hard drive I have now disc 1 with 98 and xp on disc 2 (which is the majority of my 400 gig drive) with nothing on it.
    • I tried partition magic, but it won't do anything because it is not a partition.

    Sorry for not providing them.

According to your post, it sounded to me like you've had an idea about the console recovery.

Here are the steps.  also run a disk check while add you it:

you start the computer with the xp cd you have.

then in the first screen, select R for repair.

This will then start the recovery console.

at the disc prompt, run the following commands >:

    CHKDSK c: /r
    bootcfg /rebuild
    Fixboot

then the output, remove cd and you should be able to start in the original installation.

either by the way, when you run bootcfg he might ask you for information.  everything you enter can always be changed later via Notepad.

In addition, if you receive an error message following on the master boot record, and then run the command again via the recovery console fixmbr.

Finally, you mentioned the creation of another drive.  It is perhaps a good thing, but it depends on how much space you will be assigned to the.

If after you start, check the disk space for each drive and let us know what they are. Ok?

  • How to delete hard drive partitions

Can someone help to give me advice on how to remove my hard drive on my Satellite 2520 partitions? Partitions only appeared after using the system now recovery disk, I have c:d:e: disc where as before didn't the c: folder. This caused me problems when you try to install programs like not enough space available now.

    Hi Luke,.

Your recovery CD has two options for the installation of your system. The first option is just to format your hard drive and then install a single partion \C: on which your operating system is mounted. The second option is "Advanced" installation in which you can partition your hard drive in any format you want so that you end up with a multiple logical disks \C:, \D:. \E: etc.

The second option is preferred by many users because it allows them to keep their user data on a separate partition of their operating system.

As for your problem, you might return to a partition of acronym of re-installing your recovery CD by using the "standard installation", as described above, but then you lose one of your own stuff, unless you save first. Alternatively, you can get a copy of a third-party utility (for example, PartionMagic) to reformat your existing installation.

My personal preference would be a re - install from your recovery CD, but this will depend on how much you have added to your system, since you installed it last.

  • Satellite A300 - how to start HARD drive recovery after own OS insatallation

    Hi guys.

    I have a question.
I have a Toshiba Satellite A300, which came with Windows Vista.
Normally I have the recovery with the normally pre-installed utility partition.
After that I formatted the system partition, I installed a clean and fresh Windows 7 copy.

    My question is this.
Since the recovery partition does not get soiled with, is there not a way to install the disk recovery utility hard back in recovery of Windows of F8 before the boot options?

Please don't tell me that I need to have the recovery disk.
I already did, I just want to find a solution because it is not that hard for someone who accidentally formatted the system partition and had not created the disks, but the recovery partition. My guess is to do some modifications in the files of the Windows recovery environment that are launched when you use the option to repair my computer at startup, because normally, HARD drive recovery utility appears as one of its tools-options.

The problem is that I don't have to where these files are, maybe (C:\boot?)
Currently, I am trying to see if a facility upgrade of windows 7 on windows vista will keep options for hard drive recovery then maybe I will find what it takes.

    All suggestions are welcome!
    Thank you for your time.

OK, just a hint more, I found what is happening with the recovery environment, and which must be replaced to include more tools...
    This article was really helpful:

Also, I found a few guides microsoft on changing windows 7 recovery environment.

So I continue and I think I'm close...

  • How to add hard drive for HP Envy Phoenix 810-135qe CTO.

My previous Pavalion motherboard failed and I ordered the current desktop.  I have the hard drive of the defective system.  He had the same operating system, windows 7, 64 bit, like this again.  I know some information about adding HDD to envy again.  No info on the motherboard or connections.  P5 and P6 power connectors are avilable for additional hard disks.  I see there are some open sata connectors on the motherboard, but need more info and direction on which one to use, or if things do, etc..  before I add the hard drive.

Use any header open SATA on the motherboard that you want to use. As long as you don't make changes to the current boot order in the BIOS and save the changes, it will not count.
