HP Officejet 5740: HP Officejet 5740 impression & analysis of the issues

Hello

I just bought a HP 5740 and have implemented to print wireless from my PC, iphone 6, notebk.

I have the following questions & any advice would be much appreciated:-

1. is there a limit on the number of wireless devices, I can connect to the printer?

2. when using the Automatic Document Feeder for scanning/printing of documents, scanned images or impressions appear slightly

biased.

Is this likely to be a problem with the ADF?

I thought possible is to refine the ADF paper tabs more far but I worry about the documents in

could be stuck causing a jam.

Thank you.

Hi @Chrissy_61,

Welcome to the HP Support forum.

I understand that you have purchased a HP Officejet 5740 e-all-in-one printer you have connected wireless to a 10 PC Windows, but also an iPhone 6 and a notebook. I will be happy to answer your questions about the limits to the number of wireless devices that can be connected and the output of the ADF is slightly biased.

There is no real limit to the number of wireless devices can connect to the printer. Devices are actually connecting to the printer on the wireless network of your router, so that it really on the number of the router wireless connections can handle. I've seen some cheaper model routers handle 5 wireless comfortably, but once again, it is more on the router and what are wireless devices on the network the router wireless.

For the unbalanced output when using the issue of the ADF, you definitely want that paper is loaded properly, and the paper guides are to the edge of the sides of the paper without being so tight that it is originally the paper not to remain flat in the ADF. If you have problems tilt when using the ADF, here is a document that can help - the ADF (ADF) documents do not choose paper. It is a generic document that covers all the printers with ADFs.

Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance.

In fact, if it helps you to find a solution, please click on the 'accept as Solution' and the 'thumbs up' buttons down below in this message.

Thank you!

  • A premium of 6700 Officejet do an analysis of the inverted image?

    Hello

I have a few documents where the background is black and the writing is white.  I want to scan and to reverse the image so that the background is white and the writing is black.  Is this possible with a premium of 6700 Officejet and the accompanying software?  Do I need a scanner dedicated with the best software to do?  Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello garyg45,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you want to perform a "reverse image analysis" with the Officejet 6700 Premium. I will do my best to help you! What is your operating system on your computer? Windows or Mac?

How is the printer connected? USB or wireless?

The HP software does not come with this feature, but there are of the workarounds you can try. If you have a Windows computer, you can use Windows Paint, which has an option to "Invert color" and "invert selection". You can scan a document into paint using the "from camera or Scanner" or you can copy and paste an image. I'll give you a document from HP on this step here. Click on 'How to Scan without HP software. Then follow this document How to invert the colors in painting.

Please post your results, I'll be looking forward to hear from you.

The wireless printer works etc all work fine.  It's only the scan to my email is not working.  Help, please.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 576dw: analysis of the ADF

    Hello

I cannot scan from the charger when using the built in touch screen. When I place a document in the ADF and use the software HP from my computer, the paper feeds through the ADF and scanning correctly. However, when I select 'Scan' of the construction in the touch controls on the printer, it seems to sweep the glass tray rather than pulling the document using the ADF.

The printer is less than a month and so far have not all printing problems or the copy using the ADF. However, having to go through the printer to place the document in the ADF, and then walk to the computer to start the scan, and then walk to the printer to get the document is rather inconvenient.

I tried to play with the settings of the printer using the touch controls, but cannot find any options for the selection of the source during analysis.

I am using 8.1 Windows 64 bit and I am connected to the printer via the wireless network.

    Thank you

    Hi @JJarosz

Scan configuration can be controlled form the HP software to scan.

Open the printer on your computer software and select scan a Document or Photo.

Set the source to scan into the automatic document feeder and save the shortcut, and then close the dialog box and try to scan from the printer by using this shortcut.

Please let me know the results,

  • OfficeJet 5740: Cannot fax from the computer

My new Officejet 5740, purchased on 11/15/14, worked fine until February 2015 - no problem with any of its functions, including faxes.

That was all the time I went from a wireless connection to a USB connection and since then out of faxes cannot be sent from the computer, even if they can be sent from the printer by using the LED screen. There is no problem with the incoming faxes.

Sending the printer with the LED screen is a nuisance of errors compared to the convenience of use of the computer. Lengthy discussions with HP Technical Support have been of any help. The technicians seem to think I should just give up and use the LED screen on the printer.

After trying in vain to send an outgoing fax using the computer, the Fax status window appears saying "queue... "as the status of the fax, and it never goes one further.

Is it possible that my passage in wireless USB connection type caused the problem? Maybe I need a different driver? If Yes, where can I download one, and what should I go for? Thank you.

    Hello @Harry46,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that you are not able to send a fax from your HP Officejet 5740 computer, you can send a fax from the front panel.

I think you just need to update the drivers and software, please proceed with the following steps:

    1. disconnect the USB key if you use a direct connection.

    2. remove the HP software JO 5740 uninstall from the control panel of your computers an option of the program.

    3. restart the computer.

    4. make sure that all them that software JO 5740 has disappeared from the list of programs, but also your HP folder listed under all programs in your Start Menu.

    5. now, go ahead and download the software and drivers for your JO 5740 (DO NOT connect USB until the software prompts you to):

    6. go ahead and print a test page.

    7. If you are unable to print a test page, please run the HP Print and Scan Doctor- designed by HP to provide users with troubleshooting and problem-solving features needed to solve many common problems encountered with HP print and scan products related to Windows computers.

Please let me know if this succeeds, can now send you a fax from the computer? I'll watch for your reply.

I don't know why HP would recommend the upgrade to Windows 7 when there is XP drivers available for the printer, if it's the right model:

This version may be invited for a reset of the front PIN.

Installed software for a Windows laptop and if I open the program "HP OfficeJet 4630 Series" / icon on the desktop I can choose the option of OCR of the category of analysis. Thank you

    VFN

I talked to a technician and solve the problem.  For some reason any scanning HP app was not showing in the Mac Applications folder, which it is now. What I don't understand is what OCR really means because I just saved a scanned in the rich TEXT format document and it is editable. It wasn't always the case I think that scanning an image required OCR technology so that it can be modified according to me. So what is the point of the OCR now if it appears as saving an image as a RTF (or other format that I suspect) allows for editing?

    Thank you.

Sorry for the double post and I check this thread as resolved, although I'd love to hear my understanding of confusion OCR addressed.

  • OfficeJet 8600 installation fails with the error 25024

Had to replace a 8600 printer. Added the new device, but analysis wouldn't work on the second computer, nor the HP application would launch. Tried to reinstall the driver but it fails stating that he cannot remove the old device. In the case of the Viewer, it displays an error 25024. I tried to install from the CD & download. He has worked on the other computer, but this one may not remove or install correctly. I tried to run the scrubber v14 but who does not find a device and said has some files to remove, restart, attempt to install and always fails. The scrubber removes all entries in reg etc. and which is the right to use one?

    Win7 64 bit

OfficeJet Pro 8600 - attached to the network (wired).

To start sounds like it is a driver problem. I want to start to be sure that deleting the software and relocation happened in the best way possible. I want you to follow my steps, I can be sure that we start both on the same page.

First of all, if you use a USB cable, be sure to remove it (it's important). Do not plug it in again until the software instructs you. Through devices and printers, programs and features and issues Device Manager and make sure that all copies, files, and programs related to the printer are removed. As indicated, and then restart the computer.

In the menu START menu type "%temp%" and press ENTER. Here, I want you to press Ctrl + A, and press DELETE. Some files you cannot delete them, ignore these files and delete the majority that allows it to.

find and install SOFTWARE to FEATURE FULL if it is available:
