HA AEC in two different subnets.

Hello

I have to configure two ACS 1113 ver 4.1 (4) high reliability in two places different and two different subnets.

A device will be required to manage an office, the second the other office, but if one goes down the other is responsible for the entire network.

Two subnets are accessible from all devices.

Will set up the RADIUS server on all systems.

The ACS are connected to Active Directory to authenticate users.

My question is, can I create a profile ACS are replicated to the other, even if they are on two different subnets? Can I do a HA on two different subnets?

Thank you.

Sorry for my bad answer above. I corrected to provide you with the information you need

Yes. Replication should work if two s ACS server on different subnets.

See the example in config also, it will help you: http://tiny.cc/g04rkw

  • Mac, WRT 54 G, can I access a MFC9320 brother on two different subnets?

(domestic use) I have a USB Server that I can access my USB printer on two different subnets and I was wondering if I can do the same thing on the WRT54G. I use 192.xxx.xxx.x for internet use and 198.xxx.xxx.x for each thing, like file sharing of multiplayer games, etc. Only, I named the 'locations' to 'Internet' or 'Games' (with games being used for everything else). With the USB Server set to "ZerocConfig" I could access USB printers on both.  I could set up the printer with a static IP printer 'Place' and then change location every time we wanted to print to it, but I would like to save a step. It's not that big a deal for me, but have to "Remind" everybody whenever they wanted to print something on it, would get old. Don't want to hang the brother to the USB Server if I have the wireless. It is not the smallest thing in the world to find a place for it in any case.

I guess my other question would be, taking the other subnet is it safer (from the internet) using this way he or she is just in my mind. I did the on a third location of 'White', the family put their computers (no IP #) when they are just playing games, homework, etc..

    Thank you

I don't think it's possible to run the USB printer on two different subnet. There is no such feature on the router.

  • Shared the data store two different subnets

I created a network of development/test on a vlan / subnet and a network of production on one vlan / subnet separate. Two subnets are segrated to exclude questions of domain/AD.

How can I create a shared data store that is accessed by clients of vm on two subnets?

I would like to access the data from the network to prod store so I can drop files and iso in that the test network will have access to.

    Thank you

Unfortunately not... you can not show USB devices to virtual machines. Try to use tools such as "USB Anywhere" to USB for VMS using the network.

  • Two guests with a different subnet on the same bridge vmnet0

Hi all, I have a server in a data center.  The data center has awarded me two different

Beaches of IP addresses with two separate subnets.  The first beach with the subnet to 255.255.255.248

compatible with my 3 people systems hosts that use bridged networking on vmnet0.

4th OS uses 255.255.255.0 and bridge over vmnet0, however

I can not get on the net, can't even ping the gateway.

Then the bridge vmnet0 manage two different subnets?

    Thank you

    Matt

Yes, network bridge can have several subnets.  Bridged using, your virtual machine works like any other physical machine on the network.  So just as if two physical machines on the same physical LAN had different submet, they would not be able to communicate directly with each other, so also with your virtual machine having a different subnet.  With two subnets, you should probably two gateways.  If you cannot change the 4th VM subnet to match others, you would need a router between the two subnets.  (Again, same as if they were physical machines.)

  • ASA 5505: VPN access to different subnets

    Hi All-

I'm trying to understand how to configure our ASA so that remote users can have VPN access to two different subnets (Office LAN and LAN phone).  Currently I have 3 VLAN configuration - VLAN 1 (inside), VLAN 2 (outside), VLAN 13 (phone LAN).  Essentially, remote users must be able to access their PC (192.168.1.0/24) and also have access to the office phone system (192.168.254.0/24).  Is it still possible?  Here are the configurations on our ASA,

    Thanks in advance:

    Hello

Loss of connectivity to the LAN is not really supposed all remove this command UNLESS your network is using another device as their gateway to the Internet. In this case configuration dynamic PAT or political dynamics PAT (as you) would make sense because the LAN hosts would see your VPN connection from the same directly connected network users and would be know to traffic before the ASA rather than their default gateway.

So is this just for VPN usage and NOT the gateway on the LAN?

If it is just the VPN device I'd adding this

    global interface (phones) 10

He would do the same translation for 'phones' as he does on 'inside' (of course with different PAT IP)

  • How to combine 2 VCenter with different subnet?

    Hello

I had 2 x VCenter instance installed in two different subnet, internal production and one for the disaster recovery site, it is possible to make them connected to each other and then implement in the heart of vcenter beat builtin functionality?

    Thank you.

OK, I'm a bit confused.  You asked previously on vmotion or vcenter or esx hosts?

vCenter servers can be linked together without having to be in the same subnet.

Grouping of vcenters will allow you to have a single pain of glass view for the two vcenters and allow you to search your inventory full, but models are managed by the individual vcenters.

  • ASA between two buildings W / different subnets. How to extend the network?

I have two buildings with two different networks. Users to build one want to be on the network to build two. Standard range of course will not work if I should put two ASA both buildings and the [IPSEC] VPN between the buildings, extension of the network? Will this work? If so, where are the commands in the Guide of Config ASA?

Thank you... If you can get this for me very fast.

    Matt

Matt, a litle more information would help every building completely separate in terms of connectivity physical any fiber between them, are are the two buildings of the same company? everyone has his own Internet access provider?

If there is no connectivity between them that the internet and if each building has its own ISP is therefore assumes that there is already a firewall, if that's the case, you can implement vpn L2L and connect the two networks via Ipsec via internet.

    Here's a typical scenario

  • Replication of different subnet

I need to configure the replication of an existing EQ group which has all of its interfaces on a subnet that is not routed; a newly staged group who will live in a different subnet.  Initially, the two groups will be co-located for staging, but the new group will be moved to a remote site, but retains the private address that it is affected.

What is the best practice to configure replication?  I just need to allow the routing on the iSCSI networks?

Yes, you need get the subnet that is connected to a router that will reach the remote site.   You set up default GW for iscsi is what is used for replication.  Replication between groups EQL is made via the port 3260 in an iSCSI session.

  • RV180W ping hostname between VLAN & different subnets

    Hello

I had a RV180w with 1.0.3.10 closes. According to the name of position, I'm not able to resolve host names between different VLANS which affected to different subnets, for example, allows said I have the following hosts:

    CASA:

    192.168.241.100/25 (wired - VLAN 1)

    Router: 192.168.241.1

    DNS: 192.168.241.1

    XBMC: 192.168.242.100/25 (Wi - FI - VLAN 2)

    Router: 192.168.242.1

    DNS: 192.168.242.1

If I try to ping from two sources to one of the two destinations, the only one I get is a message 'impossible '.

Authorized additional information routing between vlans & proxy DNS and if I try to look at the hostname under the 'nslookup' command, I could not resolve the host name, but if I do a "ping - a 192.168.241.100 ' it is said ' response from CASA (192.168.241.100) blah blah blah."

    So what I'm missing here?

Hi Bruno, you can usually solve different subnet host name because the host does not know the subnet that treats it as a security measure.

Disable the firewall feature on your computers and which must fix, otherwise you will probably have to change the lmhost files.

  • With the help of several NIC in Win 7 - different subnet

Can someone tell me the best way or the right way to configure two 2 Gigabit NIC in Windows 7 Ultimate?

Map NETWORK 1 is currently used to access the INET and my FreeNAS server via a 192.168.0.x subnet. I would like to set up a 2nd NETWORK card to maintain a "static route" between this box (Win 7) and box of FreeNAS (OPT 1 is configured as a secondary NIC on the side of FreeNAS already).

The static route will use the subnet 192.168.x.x with FreeNAS is 192.168.1.100 on the secondary card. The Win 7 box, I'm going to say... 192.168.1.3 for the static route NIC w / the same thing for GW and DNS.

Is it possible that way, as mentioned above, or what I need to dig a little deeper. The static route will allow me to exploit the full potential (at least I hope) between 2 machines with regard to flow by a X-Over cable. This way I can put both sides higher than regular LAN depending on the parameters.

I don't need to work, but rather a bit more than the flow of 20 MB/s when xfering large files recording studio. Yes... I know that FTP is not the best for xfering... I'm looking into SSH w/patch, SMB/CIFS or NFS

    Tim

Your plan should work fine.  Specify a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 on both network adapters to 192.168.0.x and 192.168.1.x different subnets.

You do not need to specify GW and DNS on the secondary NETWORK, and you don't need to create a static route.

To access the box of FreeNAS on secondary NETWORK map, use his IP (192.168.1.100), and not its NetBIOS name.

  • How to get iSCSI SAN connected to ESX when the SAN is on a different subnet?

    Hi all

I have two machines ESX which are directly connected to a San that are on a different subnet other network cards.  Other network cards are 10.x.x.x and the SAN is on 172.16.x.x, however whenever I try to add the iSCSI storage, the system will never find the LUN.  I put the vmkernel 172.16.x.x but it does not always find them.  I know that the LUNS are configured correctly if its ESX just having problems with the other subnet.

You need to activate the Service Console to see the iSCSI SAN, too. This is because you use the initiator software. For example, you can add a second SC in the vSwitch that your VMKernel Port is connected and align on the same subnet.

    Kind regards

Have tried the 'bridge' mode to try to achieve connectivity direct en1 interface across XP Pro. assign a static IP "virtual adapter 2 '...

(Checked that this scenario seems to work very well on an iMAC, I place last week... opens a session on the Win2K domain... everything works but only single NIC)

Dave Parsons excellent scripts have tried... VMWare should give the guy a medal! hire a consultant at the same time.

I have a little more Mac Pro to put in place...

    Question...

How can I configure vmnet 0, 1 and 8 to work correctly with en1 in bridged mode, if it isn't the right strategy?

So if I want to add an other "guest" for example machine Linux how could I get it to connect properly on to en0?

My apologies if this question may seem simple. Just think VMWare should be a simple and easy task...

Could do the same thing with routers Cisco/ACL etc., then fill the two subnets with material, but that's not the point is it!

Any assistance received with gratitude and once more a big thank you to Dave Parsons and everyone that make VMWare a "pleasant" experience

FWIW, I have no problem to use VM@Work Tokamak 2.0.0 to fill two different virtual networks for the 2 network cards physical on my Mac which are on different subnets and have connectivity across two subnets of in Virtual Machines.

It sounds like you haven't read fully the 'Tokamak.pdf VM@Work' in the or the document Advanced Networking Configuration - Tokamak Networking Scripts for VMware Fusion .  The reason I say it's you haven't mentioned nowhere in this thread that you have changed the configuration the target Virtual Machine's .vmx file to support the changes you made to the virtual network using VM@Work Tokamak 2.0.0 VMware.

In other words do you have added/changed the .vmx as well? (See 4.0 change comments VMX file in the documentation.)

    Convention:

    .gift Ethernet (n) = 'TRUE '.

    Ethernet (n) .connectionType = "custom".

    Ethernet (n) .vnet = 'VMnet (n).

    Example:

    ethernet0. Present = 'TRUE '.

    ethernet0. ConnectionType = "custom".

    ethernet0.VNET = "VMnet0.

    Ethernet1. Present = 'TRUE '.

    Ethernet1. ConnectionType = "custom".

    Ethernet1.VNET = "VMnet2.

If you have done this then in order to resolve this problem you must validate out ifconfig from the Host and ifconfig or ipconfig/all (depending on guest operating system) out of comments and the .vmx config file target VMS to begin with. (It is recommended that you redirect the output to a file on disk and then archive and attach the requested information to a reply post vs just copy and paste in reply.)

Also why are you fill vmnet1 and vmnet8?  Personally, I recommend to leave the default value for the Type of network for vmnet1 and vmnet8 and add additional vmnet for additional bridged network.

  • RAC nodes on two different network segments, what can go wrong?

Two-node RAC, what are the disadvantage if both nodes are on different network segments?
So the two node will be have a public interface on different segment, but interconnection will be on the same segment.
The two nodes have the same gateway and two network segments goes to the same switch.

    It's Solaris, Oracle 10 g (10.2.0.4)

    Hello

Public IP addresses and virtual IP addresses must be in the same subnet.

This is necessary because the VIP - IP (two nodes) should work on two public networks.

Recently I've set up RAC extended with diferent networks (subnet). When all nodes is all that is very well. But when a node down, clusterware node gel survive because he trying vip - ip (different subnet) node configuration on the node down to survive.

    Kind regards

  • iTunes playlists show two different formats. Why is it so.

iTunes playlists show two different formats. Why is it so.

A playlist displays a blue screen with numbered songs and music before notation box provided for each song. The other playlist is predominently white numbered from each song and check the box. Why is it so and how both can be given.

Use the view > view as menu from one of six different layouts. Ones you mention is Playlist and songs respectively.

  • I have 2 copies of open Firefox (two different windows with lots of tabs), if I reboot can I restore the two sessions?

I have 2 copies of open Firefox (two different windows with lots of tabs), if I reboot can I restore the two sessions? I am familiar with clicking history / restoration of previous session, but do not want to reboot to let windows update to do it's thing unless I can restore the two sessions.

If they run different profiles, then Yes.

Thanks, but I use only 1 profile. However, I found the answer! If I restart/turn off / down pc WITHOUT closing a firefox session, he will come with the screen 'well, it's embarrassing"and list the TWO sessions to restore. The trick is not not to close before stopping! If you close them first, then you can only restore the session first (?).
