HA what VM restarted?

I had an ESX host fails all the time, but I can't say what machines were on this subject.  Looks like only HA restarted all VM, but I do not know what VM...  I don't see any event in vcenter, showing them the restart...  Thoughts?

Hello

Yes, connect to VC via VI client and perform the same

If I press on restart on my macbook, what is its role? It deletes everything on Mac? I want to restart is because safari keeps crashing.

It is not wipe anything, but it empty active memory (RAM), which is a first step to try to erase the faults. Quite often, a program will itself be blend and a reboot will be in effect all over again from scratch and solve the problem.

You can restart, which will shut down the computer and then it reboot, or you can make a stop and start it then manually. This can lead to a slightly more efficient reboot for compensation issues.

    Thank you in advance,

    Hi Chao,

The answer depends on the platform and version of Tuxedo.  On Oracle Engineered Systems with Tuxedo 12.1.3, you can make use of our new RAC are supported features to handle this in a transparent way, in addition to getting better performance if you use RAC.  New support includes support for FAN so connections can be switched forwards an instance goes down for maintenance.

For all other environments, I would say looking at TAF (application transparent failover).  TAF should be able to reconnect transparent to another instance or database dataguard.

  • What does not restart in the FFT functions way?

    Hi all

I would like to know what that "restart average" made for the FFT functions. According to aid,"reboot on average indicates if the VI restarts the process chosen medium." If restart on average is set to TRUE, the restart of the VI the selected with an average of process. If reboot on average is set to FALSE, the VI does not restart the process chosen sprawl. The default value is FALSE. When you call this VI for the first time, the averaging process restarts automatically. A typical case when you need to reboot on average is when a major change of entry occurs in the middle of the averaging process"

I realized that the FFT function takes in an array of values and perform the FFT on it. If the FFT function keep a buffer previous values and clears when restart average = true? Because the FFT functions are not Point by point and they take both in all the data to deal with, "a major change of entry occurs in the middle of the averaging process" can be true?

    Thank you!

Sigh.  I really tried to explain what was going on (probably) with this function, you use (and, I thought naively, you understand), but you got me wrong.

This VI creates a zero average noise signal, providing 1024 points per second.  Do you know what should be the power spectrum of the signal?  Due to the randomness of the input signal, the power (for a small finished sample) spectrum will also have a random component.  If you had several ghosts of power on average, the average would begin to converge with the expected for random noise power spectrum.

If you run this VI and look at the Spectra resulting (on average), you will notice that the first spectrum is the most "spice" and that spectra are averaged, the variation is reduced and diminishes the value of crete (shown by looking at the scale of Amplitude).  At any time, you can press "Reset average" and see this... reset the average, the following spectrum shows the growing nose, etc.

It shows the right way to test the function of the power spectrum and discover what he does. My suggestion as to what makes this function seems to be largely correct.

  • Where is the help on the topic: "restart with disabled modules.

In aid of the menu choice "restart with disabled modules" is trying to find out what would be the consequences of this command, but I can't get any result on this SPECIFIC command. If I try, I definitely will disable my Add - ons?

I have to ask this question because I've had nothing but problems with Mozilla Addons lately, especially the themes.

    I'm tired of Firefox

Basically what the restart with disabled modules is it closes your Firefox and them it opens in safe mode, which is a temporary mode where all add-ons are disabled, and the settings are set to their default values. It helps you to be able to test and see if your question is without third-party variable. Then, when you close and restart firefox, it starts as before without Add-ons.

Questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode is an article that explains a bit more.

What problems with modules you meet specifically?

  • Office HP500-590: HP500-590 my office do not print anything until I have restart it.

I have a HP500 - 590 Energy Star, which I am trying to connect to my old printer HP Officejet 6700. I reinstalled the CD supplied with the printer several times. That did not work. I could not print a test page - until what I restarted the computer. So I tried the printer HP software download. That no longer works. But I could always print everything that I tried to print if I rebooted the computer. To say the least, which is not acceptable. For some reason, the spooler seems to hold the documents without letting go them to the printer until I restart. I don't know if it's an HP computer problem, a problem with printer HP or Microsoft. I don't know what to do to isolate and solve.

What I see, this is not a problem with the printer itself.

Run sfc/scannow  in a command prompt to see if that fixes the corruption of the file system as possible.

When this problem starts after a Windows Update or whatever, and what version of IE are you?

Go to the Control Panel, Windows Update, updates installed, look for Internet Explorer 11 if it was one of the installed updates. Right-click on Internet Explorer 11, uninstall if it was.

Restart the computer when you are prompted. Then see if your printer works

  • DeskJet 3520 doesn't print until the computer has been restarted

I had this printer for years and have never had a problem with printing until recently.  When I try to print something (whether from a Web page or a word document), it crosses as if everything is OK and even displays the print icon down in the taskbar.  But the page will not be printed in fact until what I restarted the computer.  I tried troubleshooting, but this utility says that there is nothing wrong.  My laptop has windows 7 and when I looked for drivers, he said that windows 7 has updated drivers.  I've pretty much exhausted at this stage of my knowledge of the printer!

The only changes that I made recently are to move from a cleaner who had windows vista on a laptop that has windows 7.  And it printed fine when I made the change.

  • Oracle queries Restart

Hi, I installed 11 GR 2 grid for a standalone environment Infrastructure and I ASM upward and run, but I have a few questions

Q1. In a standalone environment, I assume we mean that the ASM instance is the single instance rather than grouped together instead of talking about end user (customers ASM) databases on the same server as the instance of the ASM?

Q2. Done Alternatively the term stanadalone (and therefore being alternative - grouped) refer more that ASM instance is done it also refer to storage in ASM using autonomous databases (clients of ASM) end user that is made check-

    i. only the ASM instance

II. the storage used by ASM to ASM customers

    III. i. and ii.

Now that the ASM is running on my standalone server, the following processes are running

    Grid1 10339 1 0 16:10?        00:00:04 /home/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/grid/bin/ohasd.bin restart

    Grid1 10431 1 0 16:12?        00:00:05 /home/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/grid/bin/oraagent.bin

    Grid1 10445 1 0 16:12?        00:00:00 /home/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/grid/bin/evmd.bin

    Grid1 10472 10445 0 16:12?        00:00:00 /home/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/grid/bin/evmlogger.bin

Q3. What are these processes? I presume that oha is the name of generic processes for high availability Oracle? What is evm?

Q4. Is an ohasd a generic process name which means something different depending on whether you installed 11 GR 2 Grid independent Infrastructure 11 GR 2 cluster environment that is Network Infrastructure

Stanadalone = ASM + Oracle Restart

ASM + Oracle Clusterware = cluster environment

So is the process of ohasd in both environments, i.e. is a generic process name but in the stanalone is Oracle Restart, whereas it is the Oracle Clusterware cluster? Or Oracle Clusterware appears as a different process name?

Q5. What determines what Oracle Restart actually starts? In my case, it also seems to start the listener my ASM instance requires but does not start the instance ASM itself. How can I add / remove things of what Oracle Restart actually starts?

Q6. Yet when I manually stop the listener (via SQlPlus), it restarts automatically - if it is not if it is included in Oracle restart?

Q7. Wouldn't not normal to also Restart Oracle actually start your ASM instance for you - if yes, how this is done?

    Thank you

    Jim

    Hello Jim,

Everything seems to be configured correctly in your environment. The reason for the upcoming ASM instance does not automatically when the server is restarted is because you stopped the DSO before restarting the server.

Start the resource ASM and restart the environment without stopping the DSO when starting the server, IM should automatically display the ASM instance

The same is true for the restart of GI as well. If the ASM (or for the love of that no matter what resource) was arrested before the stop of the pile of GI, the resource will not be launched automatically at startup of the GI stack you will have to manually raise this resource

    Kind regards

  • What HA refusing to try to start a virtual machine?

I'm trying just to clear on how this process works. If HA is enabled, there is a failure of the host, and he's trying to restart the virtual machines on one or several other hosts, when the host will refuse to restart (failover) a virtual machine? Assume that there is no reservation other than the default 37 MHz CPU and some booking fees calculated generals for RAM (these are the default values, right?). A host would continue to attempt to restart the virtual machines as long as there are at least 37 Mhz and a few hundred MB of RAM available for the moment he is trying to restart? And if so, there are algorithms maintains the host master to decide where to start these VMs? I just think that she should try to startups VM alternately between the available hosts and wait a little bit to make sure that there are still some available resources before you start the following, or something like that.

Also, if there is fragmentation of resources (for example, 8% of availability on each of the 15 hosts), but HA needs to start a virtual machine that requires 15% of host resources (I realize that there is a reserve in order to decide this question of the requirement, even), would automatically make migration of VMS to other hosts (if the DRS is also enabled) or he'd just sorry cannot start this virtual machine, even if the group as a whole has space for him.  [in this case, must not make large reserves because without a reservation, the virtual machine would start upward and like CPU or memory has increased its use would cause some DRS force other virtual machines out of the host, and perhaps that would work.]

    vSphere 5.1 (vCenter and ESXi)

The master knows where virtual machines are running and try to balance where virtual machines are started. Reservations and overhead costs are the only things taken into account from a point of view of its use (not the actual resources consumed on a host) because HA does what VMs restarted (and if they have reserves prompting these resources, they need to have to start).

If the DRS is turned on and available, HA will work with DRS to move workloads so that the largest VMs can begin. If you have virtual machines more the thing to think about is what admission control policy you use. It may be wise to use the location function if all your virtual machines are large and close to the same size, or dedicated host of failover so you won't have to deal with shuffling DRS of workloads. Everything depends on your environment and your needs.

    Does that answer your questions?

  • Impact of restarting vCenter VM?

    Hi all

I have vCenter installed on a virtual machine in my ESXi infrastructure.  I have 3 physical host computers and to access the virtual machines of 2 without x iSCSI which all works very well.  I have 35 active VMs at the present time.

vCenter is installed on a VM Server 2003 running on one of the hosts, but I need to restart so I can move the pagefile to free up space on C:.  In my posts previous vCenter was still on a physical server, but here I inherited it on a virtual machine.

What precautions should I take when I reboot, or what impact is there to restart just the VM for vCenter and nothing else?

Will all my other virtual machines will continue to operate while the vCenter WHAT VM restarts or he'll do everything down?

    Thank you

    Andy

    Hi Andy

There will be no impact on other virtual machines if you restart you VCenter

Make sure that there is no current VM migration (Vmotion/svMotion) underway

  • How to automatically restore the session after a crash/update / without asking me if I want to restore it?

Hello, there are times that my Firefox crashes (well, it happens to all of us who use it to some extent) or updates asking to restart. I would like to know if there is an option that allows you to restore the previous session automatically without asking me even. It would be very useful for reasons. I had this kind of problem a couple of times ending me be upset. Sometimes I misclicked and lost all my important tabs. Other times my firefox has crashed/shifted on after reboot and guess what sound restart still has not even asking me if I wanted to restore my session crashed.

    Thank you in advance.

Cesarius Hi, I think I understand, but I have not explained completely.

The browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes preference is to avoid an infinite loop. The default value 1 means an attempt to restore the session automatically once and if it fails (for example, it crashes before it can finish to restore), then display the "embarrassing". You could try to increase the value of 2 or 3 and see if it works on the second or third time. If you still see the screen "This is awkward" after a crash, Firefox still does not make a failback.

You can also check if there is a file user.js in your profile folder. A user.js file is a file of optional parameters that Firefox reads at startup and uses to override the settings saved in your previous session. Unless you create a user.js file yourself, you can usually just remove it. This article includes a section on the hunt for a possible user.js file: How to fix preferences that will not save.

Note: by default, Windows hides the .js file extension. Precise work with file names, I suggest setting windows to show all file extensions. This article has the steps: https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

    Hello

A lot of questions and problems of the system can be resolved by performing the HARD drive recovery.
There are different ways to access the recovery menu.
You can enter the recovery within the system, but you can access the recovery also Menu by pushing the Volume + button and the button of power at the same time for several seconds.

The menu should appear and now you can choose the HDD recovery point.
    Click YES.
New menu will appear and here you must choose the point to solve the problems, then restart your PC.
But beware: choose Reset your PC would be to remove your personal data and unit will be set to their default value.
Click Next, choose just delete my files and then click RESET.
