Oracle queries Restart

Hi, I installed 11 GR 2 grid for a standalone environment Infrastructure and I ASM upward and run, but I have a few questions

Q1. In a standalone environment, I assume we mean that the ASM instance is the single instance rather than grouped together instead of talking about end user (customers ASM) databases on the same server as the instance of the ASM?

Q2. Done Alternatively the term stanadalone (and therefore being alternative - grouped) refer more that ASM instance is done it also refer to storage in ASM using autonomous databases (clients of ASM) end user that is made check-

i. only the ASM instance

II. the storage used by ASM to ASM customers

III. i. and ii.

Now that the ASM is running on my standalone server, the following processes are running

Grid1 10339 1 0 16:10?        00:00:04 /home/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/grid/bin/ohasd.bin restart

Grid1 10431 1 0 16:12?        00:00:05 /home/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/grid/bin/oraagent.bin

Grid1 10445 1 0 16:12?        00:00:00 /home/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/grid/bin/evmd.bin

Grid1 10472 10445 0 16:12?        00:00:00 /home/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/grid/bin/evmlogger.bin

Q3. What are these processes? I presume that oha is the name of generic processes for high availability Oracle? What is evm?

Q4. Is an ohasd a generic process name which means something different depending on whether you installed 11 GR 2 Grid independent Infrastructure 11 GR 2 cluster environment that is Network Infrastructure

Stanadalone = ASM + Oracle Restart

ASM + Oracle Clusterware = cluster environment

So is the process of ohasd in both environments, i.e. is a generic process name but in the stanalone is Oracle Restart, whereas it is the Oracle Clusterware cluster? Or Oracle Clusterware appears as a different process name?

Q5. What determines what Oracle Restart actually starts? In my case, it also seems to start the listener my ASM instance requires but does not start the instance ASM itself. How can I add / remove things of what Oracle Restart actually starts?

Q6. Yet when I manually stop the listener (via SQlPlus), it restarts automatically - if it is not if it is included in Oracle restart?

Q7. Wouldn't not normal to also Restart Oracle actually start your ASM instance for you - if yes, how this is done?

Thank you

Jim

Hello Jim,

Everything seems to be configured correctly in your environment. The reason for the upcoming ASM instance does not automatically when the server is restarted is because you stopped the DSO before restarting the server.

Start the resource ASM and restart the environment without stopping the DSO when starting the server, IM should automatically display the ASM instance

The same is true for the restart of GI as well. If the ASM (or for the love of that no matter what resource) was arrested before the stop of the pile of GI, the resource will not be launched automatically at startup of the GI stack you will have to manually raise this resource

Kind regards

    But, if I call sessiontimezone, I see + 02:00 in a session that created it before last Saturday night.

    What should I do to get the value real sessiontimezone without restarting the session?

    do you want to time UTC, you can use...

    select systimestamp at time zone 'UTC' from dual

    This will give always the hour UTC

  • PSU for Oracle Restart 11.2.0.1 AIX 6.1

    Hi gurus,

    I applied the patch 9655006 IM for autonomous, i, e Restart.The Oracle patch knew very well, but changed ownership on the grid directory and permissions. The grid under /u01/app/11.2.0/grid directory should be owned by root, instead after his property by grid patch now.

    Let me breakdown the steps I made for the application of the patch.

    (1) unlocked the Gate House as root using the command 'roothas.pl - unlock'
    (2) patch applied PSU as user (grid) grid using opatch apply. The patch has been applied successfully.
    (3) I tried to lock the gate of the House using comand "roothas.pl - patch".
    command failed with error ' u01/app/11.2.0/grid/bin/crsctl[158]: /u01/app/11.2.0/grid/bin/crsctl.bin: cannot run.

    (4) tried roll back the patch with the "rollback opatch-id 9655006" command failed with error copy doesn't have to ' / u01/app/11.2.0/grid/.patch_storage/9655006_Jul_6_2010_12_27_31/files/bin/oradnssd' to ' / u01/app/11.2.0/grid/bin/oradnssd'...

    Gave 5) execute privilege recursively in GI-home / bin directory and restart Oracle stack came.

    My question is how the privileges has changed and safe / is it true the environment now after patch? What would be the impact of this on my existing environment?

    ls - ld /u01/app/11.2.0/grid
    drwxr-xr-x 66 grid oinstall 4096 12 August at 11:24 /u01/app/11.2.0/grid

    Please any entries would be really appreciated.

    Thank you

    Did you read the README in the Patch?

    Automation for GI OPatch
    The utility (opatch) must be performed by a user of the operating system (OS) with root privileges (usually root user), and must be run on each node in the cluster.

    Patch Oracle Restart home
    Patch before the Oracle home Restart, hold the Restart Oracle stack upward and the conduct.
    To patch the Restart Oracle home, as an administrative user (usually the root user) run a command in the following format:
    #opatch auto - oh

    Then, with root privileges opatch unlock and relock the GRID_HOME automatically.

    This fix should be applied using an administrative user (usually the root user).

    My question is how the privileges has changed and safe / is it true the environment now after patch? What would be the impact of this on my existing environment?

    Did you backup of grid home before patch?

    Home of Oracle backup can be taken using any recommended method. You can use any tool such as zip, tar and cpio to compress the Oracle home. It is strongly recommended to make a backup binaries home Oracle while applying the patch Set (s) or patches. You should also back up the Central inventory where Oracle home is installed, while taking backup of the Oracle home.

    If you have a backup of Oracle Home you can restore all the files in the HOME of GRID (Oracle Restart) and apply the patch using root user.

    2 things come to mind with the netca newspaper:

    (1) we use NO HA... it seems that we could ignore that.

    2) 1521 port is NOT in use.  I ran netstat - anpl | grep 1521 in 5 second loop delay when running the installation and it never appeared.

    Does anyone know if there is something different with Centos6.4 or AWS facilities that would cause this?  In addition, the log shows that the installation went well and it was with the configuration.  The spfile does not exist and when root.sh is run after installation, the oratab has no entry ($ORACLE_SID: $ORACLE_HOME: N |) There > does not exist).

    Ideas?

    Found the question in forums of http://stackoverflow.com . We searched before but does not search the correct error. I searched on "information for this listening port is currently in use by other software on this computer." and found a forum thread that we explained our problem.

    We use AWS as our server provider. AWS has 2 IP addresses he uses. We use for PuTTY in and access the server Public and private one located on eth0. Obviously, the private IP address must be in the file/etc/hosts not the public IP address.

    The database installed and is running.

    I said that it was free. I would lie to you and the other thousands of people who visit these forums?

    All Linux, LINUX ALL, MUST be free.
    Support can be.
    Extensions are not.
    But Linux is free thanks to Mr. Torvalds.

    And Hans gave you the links. All you had to do is to click on one to find out.

  • 2nd try - need to know what the msaccess_utlities Oracle package for

    I have a client who has moved just a data base Access on Oracle using SQL Developer.
    In the generated scripts, there is a script to create a package and called bpdy package
    msaccess_utilities

    CREATE or REPLACE PACKAGE msaccess_utilities AS
    identity NUMBER (10);
    TRANCOUNT NUMBER (10): = 0;

    FUNCTION left_ (p_string VARCHAR2, p_length NUMBER) RETURN VARCHAR2;
    FUNCTION val(p_expr VARCHAR2) RETURN VARCHAR2;
    FUNCTION sqr (p_num NUMBER) RETURN NUMBER;

    ............ (more code)

    CREATE or REPLACE PACKAGE BODY msaccess_utilities AS
    FUNCTION left_ (VARCHAR2, p_length NUMBER p_string)
    RETURN VARCHAR2
    IS
    BEGIN
    RETURN substr_from_end (p_string, p_length);
    EXCEPTION
    WHILE OTHERS THEN

    ............... (more code)

    What is the functionality of msaccess_utilities and what is it?
    When it is used or called?

    Thank you

    Walter

    Hi Walter,

    Developer SQL only not only moves data from MS Access to Oracle.
    It can be used to help convert the MS Access to Oracle database, so that you can get rid of MS Access.
    This is where msaccess_utilties comes.

    The msaccess_utilities is an Oracle package that generates a SQL Developer, which emulates the functions of MS Access SQL.
    If your MS Access database queries. These queries are converted to VIEWS in Oracle's SQL Developer.
    To make the conversion easier and easier to manage, VIEWS can reference the msaccess_utilities package.

    If you use just to move the data from MS Access to Oracle SQL Developer, then there is no need of the msaccess_utilties.
    If you convert everything, including MS Access Oracle queries. Then this package is necessary.

    Kind regards
    Dermot.
    SQL development team.

  • Is there a way to disable the indicators of query in Oracle 9i / 10g / 11g?

    Hello

    Suppose there is an application of part 3, which will generate Oracle queries with notes. I will not be able to access the code. Is there a way to disable query indicators in the Oracle database?

    Thank you!

    Here is an example:

    SQL> select /*+ FULL(emp) */ * from emp where empno=10;

    Execution Plan
    ----------------------------------------------------------
    Plan hash value: 3956160932

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
    | Id  | Operation         | Name | Rows  | Bytes | Cost (%CPU)| Time     |
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
    |   0 | SELECT STATEMENT  |      |     1 |    37 |     3   (0)| 00:00:01 |
    |*  1 |  TABLE ACCESS FULL| EMP  |     1 |    37 |     3   (0)| 00:00:01 |
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Predicate Information (identified by operation id):
    ---------------------------------------------------

       1 - filter("EMPNO"=10)

    SQL> alter session set "_optimizer_ignore_hints"=true;

    Session altered.

    SQL> select /*+ FULL(emp) */ * from emp where empno=10;

    Execution Plan
    ----------------------------------------------------------
    Plan hash value: 2949544139

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    | Id  | Operation                   | Name   | Rows  | Bytes | Cost (%CPU)| Time     |
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    |   0 | SELECT STATEMENT            |        |     1 |    37 |     1   (0)| 00:00:01 |
    |   1 |  TABLE ACCESS BY INDEX ROWID| EMP    |     1 |    37 |     1   (0)| 00:00:01 |
    |*  2 |   INDEX UNIQUE SCAN         | PK_EMP |     1 |       |     0   (0)| 00:00:01 |
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Predicate Information (identified by operation id):
    ---------------------------------------------------

  • Division by zero at t.

    Hi all

    I have a problem with QoQ when the division is zero. I usually use nullif in oracle queries, but it's not allowing in t/t.

    How can I solve this problem?

    Example code:

    < cfquery name = "qrySum", dbtype = "query" >

    Select "Item01" as DESCR

    < cfloop from = "2011" to index "2016" = "o" = >

    sum(FY_#y#) as FY_ #y #.

    sum(COST_#y#) as COST_ #y #.

    , sum(COST_#y#) / sum(FY_#y#) like PERC_ #y #.

    < / cfloop >

    of qryItems

    Group of DESCR

    < / cfquery >

    where for a year 2014 the sum (FY) = 0 and sum (COST) = 0

    Thank you

    Johnny

    Playing sometimes dumb is the way to go. How about this:

    Sum (FY_2011) as FY_2011, sum (FY_2012) as FY_2012, sum (FY_2013) as FY_2013, sum (FY_2014) as FY_2014, sum (FY_2015) as FY_2015, sum (FY_2016) as FY_2016

    of qryItems

    Select "Item01" as DESCR

    , #FYsum.FY_2011 # as FY_2011, #FYsum.FY_2012 # as FY_2012, #FYsum.FY_2013 # as FY_2013, #FYsum.FY_2014 # as FY_2014, #FYsum.FY_2015 # as FY_2015, #FYsum.FY_2016 # as FY_2016

    sum (COST_2011) as COST_2011, sum (COST_2012) as COST_2012, sum (COST_2013) as COST_2013, sum (COST_2014) as COST_2014, sum (COST_2015) as COST_2015, sum (COST_2016) as COST_2016

    , sum (COST_2011) / #FYsum.FY_2011 # as PERC_2011, sum (COST_2012) / #FYsum.FY_2012 # as PERC_2012, sum (COST_2013) / #FYsum.FY_2013 # as PERC_2013, sum (COST_2014) / #FYsum.FY_2014 # as PERC_2014, sum (COST_2015) / #FYsum.FY_2015 # as PERC_2015, sum (COST_2016) / #FYsum.FY_2016 # as PERC_2016

  • Collecting additional fields in Active Directory

    How is it difficult to extend the Active Directory Connector to extract data from fields for additional resources?  I need complete my contact records with the data stored in the employeeID field in Active Directory, but it is not currently available.  I have never tried the box connectors output change.  What is involved beyond adding in games of fields and questions section of the Infra.Connector.LDAP.AD.icnf file?

    SenseiTX welcome!

    Fortunately, we had the same requirement earlier. And it is relatively easy to implement - just a few lines in a configuration file.

    Attach the file you need to extract and place it in the folder % VSM_SYSTEM%\Config. You do not have to rename the file - the custom file extends / replaces only sections of system requirements.

    I do not remember if you must parse (less likely) queries, restarting IIS or VSM services (most likely), but you try each action if you will see no difference.

    You can compare this file with the original to see what changed.

  • Questions of the ASM

    Hi, I have several questions here. I managed the migration of instance ASM to ASM instance to be autonomous and RAC environment.

    Now I meet this task to migrate an environment 11 GR 1 very old material on Sun solaris 5.10 to 5.11 Oracle version 11.2.0.3.

    I have some questions I need to ask gurus here.

    (1) we got okay to use restart with stand-alone server using ASM oracle management.

    Current context, all files of data on local disks of/U02 - u10.

    If during migration, we will create an expectation of prod db (11 GR 1 material that all files located on a local system without OMF) and instant upgrade standby then this eve upgraded to the new ASM Oracle system restart.

    So my questions are: a). I guess I'll create this same exact main expectation that current prod environment, means no OMF no ASM. then upgrade.

    (b) target (11 GR 2) then I'll install oracle asm/restart on the area.  now, how do I know that I can use OMF, and files from u02 - 10 went to the diskgroup?

    (2) the storage people have no experience of ASM lun. For the autonomous zone, is that they have just to introducing the raw LUN?  then I left Oracle asm discover?  What should I use UDEV (I think it's for CARS) to manage those LUNs? What is the official way to do it? any docs? LUN will be on emc storage.

    Thank you much in advance.

    Yes, theoretically you must Restart Oracle and ASM - c-d. Grid infrastructure - MORE the Oracle_Home of RDBMS.

    Hello community; ), I hope I have this post on the good subject otherwise pls advise me.

    I work as an intern by a company that wants to set up OIBEE.

    I am really new to this and I hope I can get help with my problems of . Cause I stuck to many ways .

    I installed Oracle OBIEE 11 g and later Patch 11.1 .1.7.1.

    After changing the Logo Oracle at Oracle, I restarted the service, by using Oracle WebLogic Server Administration Console.But he can't restart and stuck!

    So I stopped all the manuals by using commands such as «./stopWebLogic.sh". As I tried to start it again I get some error messages. Can someone tell me how to handle this problem? I would be very grateful.

  • Could not get the idea of the application of the hierarchy

    Hello world

    I am trying to learn the hierarchy of oracle queries and couples has spent hours, but still don't get it. Suppose I have the following query:

    Query

    DATA ACE

    (

    ' Select '100' grp 1 January 2012' effective_date, 30 June 2012 ' termination_date of the double

    ' Select '100' grp 1 July 2012 ' effective_date, August 5, 2012 ' double

    Union of all the

    ' Select '100' grp, August 6, 2012 ' effective_date, August 10, 2012 ' double

    Union of all the

    ' Select '100' grp 2 August 2012 ' effective_date, August 9, 2012 ' double

    ),

    correct_data like)

    Select grp,

    TO_DATE (effective_date, ' MON-DD-YYYY "," NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE = ENGLISH ') effective_date,.

    TO_DATE (termination_date, ' MON-DD-YYYY "," NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE = ENGLISH ') termination_date

    from the data

    )

    Select the grp, effective_date, termination_date, level

    of correct_data

    Connect prior termination_date = effective_date-1

    advance grp = grp

    start by (effective_date)

    in (select min (effective_date) correct_data)

    order by 1, 2;

    The query result

    100 1 JANUARY 12 30 JUNE 12 1

    100 1ST JULY AUGUST 12 5 12 2

    100 6 AUGUST 12 AUGUST 10 12 3

    I don't understand why I'm getting this result and does not get the rest 1 row. If someone explain it in simple words, then I really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

    Thanks Frank for the great explanation, something is still confused it is:

    -----------------------

    When termination_date BEFORE June 30, 2012, the next line meets these conditions:

    100 1ST JULY AUGUST 12 5 12 2

    --------------------------

    How this line satisfy the condition? Please guide.

    The above line is on LEVEL = 2.  (The last column of output is the LEVEL which is convenient.)  "It is easier to understand the results in this way.)

    This line level = 2 must have satisfied conditions CONNECT it before BY Canada (2-1) = rank = 1.  There is only 1 these rows in the results set, namely:

    100 1 JANUARY 12 30 JUNE 12 1

    You see how these 2 rows satisfy the CONNECT BY conditions, which are:

    Connect prior termination_date = effective_date-1

    advance grp = grp

    ?  If this isn't the case, explain why you think that the above condition should return FALSE (or UNKNOWN), given these 2 rows.

  • Use of indexes is not recorded in v$ object_usage...

    Hi all

    A few days ago, I posted a question to see if table scans / index deemed "used" index followed its use.

    Now I have a bit of the opposite question: I can't seem to get clues to "confess" v$ object_usage they been used!

    I tried this on two systems: a quarter-rack race Exadata V1 11.2.0.2 BP7 and a 11.2.0.3 (vanilla) running on AIX 5.3

    I can't make it work on either, despite the fact that I have activated it for 900 non-unique index on the Exadata machine and 300 on the AIX 5.3 database. The two are producing, so I expect high activity levels.

    That's what I did. Maybe I did something wrong. Surely that I did.

    The control of its use on the index WE - I did yesterday
    ALTER INDEX schema1.decentsizedtab_nu-idx1 MONITORING USAGE;
    Find the name of owner or table on which the index is based. When I run the present, nothing crazy is returned. It is a unique, valid, index that has not been analyzed since June 2010. It is NOT partitioned, NOT temporary and NOT invisible. Segments were created for the index.
    SELECT owner, index_name, index_type, table_owner, table_name, table_type, uniqueness, status, last_analyzed, partitioned, temporary, global_stats, visibility, segment_created
    FROM dba_indexes
    WHERE owner = 'SCHEMA1'
    AND index_name = 'DECENTSIZEDTAB_NU-IDX1';
    Determine the columns in dba_ind_columns
    SELECT index_owner, index_name, column_name, column_position
    FROM dba_ind_columns
    WHERE index_owner = 'SCHEMA1'
    AND index_name = 'DECENTSIZEDTAB_NU-IDX1';

    SCHEMA1 DECENTSIZEDTAB_NU-IDX1  COL_1               1
    SCHEMA1 DECENTSIZEDTAB_NU-IDX1  COL_2               2
    SCHEMA1 DECENTSIZEDTAB_NU-IDX1  COL_3               3
    SCHEMA1 DECENTSIZEDTAB_NU-IDX1  COL_4               4
    So you would think that would use the index, especially if I give this move a bit to use it...
    EXPLAIN PLAN FOR
    SELECT /*+ INDEX (schema1.decentsizedtab_nu-idx1)*/ col_1, col_2, col_3, col_4
    FROM schema1.decentsizedtab;
    The plan of the explain command shows that we use the DECENTSIZEDTAB_NU-IDX1 index.
    SELECT * FROM table(DBMS_XPLAN.DISPLAY);

    Plan hash value: 1798057294
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    | Id  | Operation                    | Name        | Rows  | Bytes | Cost (%CPU)| Time     |
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    |   0 | SELECT STATEMENT             |             |   145K|  2138K|    97   (2)| 00:00:02 |
    |   1 |  INDEX STORAGE FAST FULL SCAN| DECENTSIZEDTAB_NU-IDX1|   145K|  2138K|    97   (2)| 00:00:02 |
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    OK, so we're going to execute the statement and see if the index is used...
    SELECT /*+ INDEX (schema1.decentsizedtab_nu-idx1)*/ col_1, col_2, col_3, col_4
    FROM schema1.decentsizedtab;

         145721 rows selected.
    Once this is completed, we will check the object_usage view $ v to see if it has registered using the index
    SELECT *
    FROM v$object_usage;

    No rows returned.
    LOL. Nope. Bitch index tracking! *

    I have not considered the fact that exadata was involved (unloading, etc.) to perform this operation somehow, but as I said, I tried this with an Oracle database restart a single instance and I see the same thing.

    Thoughts? Ideas? Critical? Personal insults?

    I noticed that MOS Note 261756.1 gives to think you have to be connected to the schema owner to display the results.

    It is a real pain because I have 50-60 patterns in the Exadata database AND I am logged in as SYSDBA - surely, I should be able to see everything in v$ object_usage?

    Here is the definition of v$ object_usage

    select io.name, t.name,
           decode(bitand(i.flags, 65536), 0, 'NO', 'YES'),
           decode(bitand(ou.flags, 1), 0, 'NO', 'YES'),
           ou.start_monitoring,
           ou.end_monitoring
    from sys.obj$ io, sys.obj$ t, sys.ind$ i, sys.object_usage ou
    where io.owner# = userenv('SCHEMAID')
      and i.obj# = ou.obj#
      and io.obj# = ou.obj#
      and t.obj# = i.bo#

    The predicate: io.owner # = userenv ('SCHEMAID') is that which limits the output to the current user.
    If you can connect with a login adapted, you could create another view that eliminates this predicate, perhaps adding to the selection in the io.owner list #, or even join user$ on io.owner # u.user = #, for example

    select u.name, io.name, t.name,
           decode(bitand(i.flags, 65536), 0, 'NO', 'YES'),
           decode(bitand(ou.flags, 1), 0, 'NO', 'YES'),
           ou.start_monitoring,
           ou.end_monitoring
    from sys.obj$ io, sys.obj$ t, sys.ind$ i, sys.object_usage ou, sys.user$ u
    where i.obj# = ou.obj#
      and io.obj# = ou.obj#
      and t.obj# = i.bo#
      and u.user# =  io.owner#
    ;
