Had to remove password on the Satellite A660-18

I have problem with my laptop Satellite A660-18 access, it asks for the password, I have not to remember (or know). I bought it to the United Kingdom in 2010, since it is the first time I faced this problem. Is there any possibility to get this password remotely, because I'm afraid there is no toshiba service center in a city (or), where I'm located now.

All the advice that helps you solve this problem are much appreciated.

    Please don't be crazy about me, but you don't understand how it works. To reset the BIOS Center Toshiba password control needs code given by your laptop model. Shortly after, they send a new return code and after you enter this code, that the BIOS password is removed.

    Allowed only in your country service provider can contact Toshiba control center and service just to get back the information. With short words: private person like you have no chance to remove the BIOS password. I hope you understand why it. If this is not the case, let me know that I'll explain.

    Today, I bought my Satellite A660. Because it was a showroom model, the seller perform a (very long) factory settings reset.

    On this laptop, I see only a single disk partition (volume) visible: C-560 GB volume.

    In disk management, there are altogether 4 partitions:
    -recovery partition: 1.46 GB
    -primary partition: 25,05 Go, which I can remove only, no other function is possible
    -primary partition: 9,61 Go, which I can remove only, no other function is possible
    -primariy partition, system startup,...: 560 GB = C-volume

    I guess the 2 primary partitions (25.05 and 9.61 GB) are hidden, partitions used to reset to the factory settings. I know that it is better to leave them alone; You never know. On the other hand, why would there be two?

    I can release about 280 GB for a new partition.

    When I try to create a volume D, the system informs me that this operation requires dynamic disks and the following States that there is insufficient disk space to perform this action.
    When I navigate around on some internet for one, I learn that the standard Windows can support up to 4 partitions.

    If that were the case, partitions to delete for me to create this second volume?

    At first, I have to say that everything is fine there and if you have good operating system at first, please create restore using preinstalled Toshiba Recovery media creator DVD. To create recovery discs use DVD-R virgins only.

    So, after doing this, you can do experiments with your new Satellite phone and optimize the partitions. If something goes wrong, you can use the created recovery DVD and reinstall the OS.
    For this application use out of the box.

    You know I have Satellite A660 and have tested all recovery options to see how this works exactly and what is happening with each available recovery option. All this is not so bad, but maybe a little complicated.

    In front of me I have original preinstalled A660 and open disk management and the situation is a little different as on your laptop.
    Follow the partitions appear:
    # 1.46 GB (recovery partition) Please note this score has nothing to do with the Toshiba recovery procedure
    GB partition # 453,89 it's partition C shown in Windows Explorer
    GB hidden # 10.46 on this partition partition is saved Toshiba recovery image so if you want to use the disk HARD recovery option do not delete it.

    So I really don t know why you have 4 of them.
    I recommend you to follow:
    # create recovery DVDs
    # install new OS using the HDD recovery procedure (F8 at startup > fix my computer) and selected the option out of the box.

    During the installation of recovery is complete, you will have the same State of partitions of HARD drive than I. You can enter the disk management shrink volume C (for example 200 GB less than before) and on this unallocated (200 GB) partition to create the new partition.

    I put t know what was coming, but we're not sure: you have big problem now. If please contact allowed in your country and allow them to remove the BIOS password. It will cost you, but unfortunately, you have no choice.

Just choose file > properties after you open the PDF file, then click on the Security tab in the Properties dialog box to change the security settings. Unfortunately, this is not something you can do in Reader.

    I had a model number P200 laptop computer satellite PSPB6E-03G02TEN fongr in the last two months.

    On the navigation of the Toshiba support and dowloads I looked up my model etc number to see what that downloads were available. Is he saying there were several updates and the other that it was an update of the bios. As the current bios was for 2007 and it was for 2008, I thought I might as well upddate.

    Being a beginner and not realizing how the bios is on a computer - and there is nothing to say it needed an expert--I have conclusive to download.

    I thought it was going well and he came to my computer to restart. However, when it happened it says it need a password and did doesn't have a clue what they were talking about. The recovery disk has failed.

    I contacted Toshiba and I now have to take the laptop to a Toshiba service repairman here in Poole, Dorset.

    I am now worried in case I've done something that invalidate my warranty.

    Why Toshiba do not send these updates if they can do this damage in inexperienced hands. I'm angry at myself and would not have hit with a barge pole if I had know the importance of the bios. I know that I will never touch it again.

    I understand your situation. You´re worried but not just for you, also about Toshiba why they release these updates for important parts of a computer that do not work correctly.
    Don t worry, you do nothing wrong. Your warranty would be invalid after that. The repair will be covered by the warranty of your machine and after that nothing cannot be revoked or not valid. So Don t worry, the guys in the shop/repair service center will fix this and I hope that you´re not worried to do a BIOS update next time.

    I promise you it happened only once and you don t have doubts if it will never happen. I mean, I have computers laptop toshiba for years and I have never such problems. With this bios password, I found a big problem the first time Toshiba and I hope that they won´t remake such a failure.
