Half page width background image?

To put a deep band as a background to go all the way through the page regardless of the screen size is easy enough - for example an image 1 x 200px, repeated horizontally...

Is it possible to have the band covering half exactly the width of the page, again regardless of the size of the screen?

Thank you, SW

CSS3 defines a size of background style described here - http://www.w3schools.com/cssref/css3_pr_background-size.asp

This will allow you to specify an image to use as background for your container, with a width in percentage for this image. It is supported in IE9 + FF4 +, Opera, Chrome and Safari 5 +. If this support is not wide enough for your demographic then you're pretty stuck, I fear.

    The part of the url of the background image is the problem, probably

    background-image: url("..) ("/ ERUnBPart2.png")

  • MUSE - bearings change the background image

    I want to create button 4 (thumbnails) which, when you flipping them, changes the page's background image (background images are different for thumbnails). And when you rollover a different thumbnail, background image fades into a different image (again, it is different thumbnail).

    Does anyone know how to get there? At the end of the day, I join the background image to scroll to a different pace for thumbnails.

    You can use compositions for this where the triggers can be equipped with image for different States and target container should be large enough to cover the area of the page, so that when the tile is flat so this specific target will appear page so substantive change.

  • Problem Background Image

    Hello
    I'm using a custom theme in APEX 4.0 on Oracle 10 g. I'm trying to add a background image to a page, and I find that the theme does not appear the image correctly. I need to click on the background image view to see the actual image...

    I know there is a way through css to override the existing background image/color, but today I simply didn't see / get it...

    Can anyone offer a suggestion?

    The background properties are applied to the body according to your stylesheet incorporated. The problem is that the body is invisible behind all this fancy theme UI widgets dan.

    Various s divon the page have styles online specifying absolute positions and z-index values that display them in front of the body of the page and have the .ui-pane-layout class that specifies the gray background. Override this rule with:

    .ui-layout-pane {
      background-color: transparent;
    }

    and the body with your background image becomes visible.

    On the other hand, put the background image on the main content div can be closer to what you're trying to achieve? Replace the body selector in your existing rule by div #delta - content of the page:

    div#delta-page-content {
      background-image: url(wwv_flow_file_mgr.get_file?p_security_group_id=9023722216290979&p_fname=ata_background.png) !important;
      background-repeat: no-repeat !important;
      background-attachment: fixed !important;
    }

  • background images appear evil in the browser

    OK, his mercy, it's my first DW website. www.Bourne.GB.com/TestArea

    I put the two div in the container, one above the other downstairs, with a background image repeated on the Center to give a single image extensible backround page. "It appears correctly in DW, using live view and local files, but when I go to the page, the background image appears corrupt and won a comment alt, probably from the browser that says - 'image' http://www.bourne.gb.com/testarea/images/containermid.gif ' cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. »

    I tried with different image formats, jpg and gif and I checked the file on the host server and the image is fine as long as it is not part of a page. My guess is that I screwed up something in the div or the css somehow. But I just spent a few hours looking for clues and came up empty.

    If it is an old problem, my apologies for not finding a previous answers, if it is a new, then at least I was original!

    OK, I cracked, but maybe not in a good way.

    I had avoided using png for background images files because I heard that IE has problems with links that overlap png backgrounds, effectively breaking navigation. Unfortunately I can't test this reliably until my pc friends give it a try. But change the png format solves all problems display on my browser.

    If someone can advise on the wickedness of this method?

    Oh, and no one knows why opera has a display problem with shadows in swf animations. A soft shadow with an alpha of about 60% poster fine while he drives, but as soon as you get to the stop command, it turns solid and opaque.

  • How to block Background Images?

    Hello

    I have problems with sensory processing and when I sometimes scrolling on pages with background images, the text moves and the background image is not, and this triggers my migraines.

    I tried to use preferences > content > colors options and style "text on white background", * and they help, but on some sites (and not on this site) they make it impossible to see what I'm typing errors.

    Does anyone know of a good way to block images from bottom without this problem, or can be displayed/hidden?

    If the problem is only that the background does not scroll this bookmarklet could help.

    Make a fixed background image attached to the scrollable body element.

    javascript:void(document.body.style.setProperty("background-attachment","scroll","important"));

    You can create a new bookmark and paste the bookmarklet JavaScript code into the location field.

  • background image stops repeating leaving white areas in my top banner page

    I have a banner built using three images. One to the left, the right image, and a third which should tile between the left and right images.

    In IE, it works very well, in Firefox, it stops tiling and leave a small area white when displayed on the very wide screens (mine is 1920 x 1080). He thin tiles on smaller screens of width.

  • New bug? Horizontal white background interrupts the background image tiles after 1 to 2 pages

    My site was going on well on Firefox (and all the other major browsers), until recently. Now Firefox interrupts the white tile background image, bottom horizontal bar across the width of the page and about an inch long. What's up with that?

  • Center the div in parent div Background Image and not the whole page

    I am trying to Center a background image, I have inserted as create a div via the new css rule and will have questions centering correctly on the page. I would it is centered at the top of the page contet - left area of the page content, and it seems that the background image is ignorant parent his div and is centering the page-level. It's a problem because its parent div that 2/3 of the page, therefore covers, in question background image is cropped.

    I did a video showing the problem here, because I'm not sure I use the right words to describe the problem

    Dreamweaver Background Image needs centered at the top of the page content DIV - YouTube

    In other words, I insert a div tag and add a background image so that I can place the content above it, however, the background image seems to be centered in the entire page and not simply within the Division 'parent' in design mode, everything is centered, however, in direct mode, the background image is offset. I can't really explain for good so I made another video.

    Still another problem as can be seen in the video but not prime, since it still works live, is:

    In addition, my navigation bar is direct, but in design mode, it appears at the bottom of the screen. I did fix the position, then he stuck on the right side, so I added a margin of 700px to go right once again, I guess that the problem is due to this.

    I have boldened which, in my view, are source code target areas and css to quickly reduce down, but everything included because I am not knowledgeable enough to know what is relevant or not, I could (and likely) wrong.

    Any other help would be greatly appreciated.

    I figured out how do. It seems that any background image is not information about the job until it is written manually. This line seems to do the trick.

  • Add background images 100% width questions

    Hello again,

    This is another issue that I'm trying to overcome.

    I added these subtle geometry type forms in the background of the Web site to fill the blank gradient area in the case of a person like me consults the Web site on screen 27 inches.

    Untitled-6.jpg

    Now on screen 27 inch, everything seems perfect and the way I want it, but here is the strange part, when I adjust the side window beside it contracts and expands as it should.

    Untitled-8.jpg

    but when I use the bottom bar to move from left to right, look at what is happening.

    Untitled-7.jpg

    Now, is not so much a big problem on screen 27 inches because if I develop the window full screen it will look like perfectly on both sides of the web page.

    but this is the result when you open this page even on lets say 13-inch macbook, the left side is perfect, but the right side?

    Screen shot 3.jpg

    The same phenomenon occurs with the Ipad. I understand that the question is the image in the background, but how is the image of the left hand has no problem, but the right hand image is. It should reveal only the background image gradually if your screen is wider than 960px (width I put for my site) not the whole background in a go image. Once I have remove the background graphics, I don't have these problems, and it seems fine on my macbook 13 inch or an iPad. But I don't want these images,

    image2 (1).jpg

    Sorry for so many images, but I wanted to make sure that everyone understands what is my problem and can help with this problem.

    Thank you very much

    In the case of the use that you use do not add your background for the page itself. Add as a fill for browser - not an element of the width of 100%.

  • Extra width after you resize my background image

    I create this site by using a screen 15-inch and after viewing on a larger screen, 21 inches, the image background looks too small.

    Fixed it by resizing the background image. However, now the side scrolls to the right, only to show the size of the background image?

    Required to have this problem design with Muse, what is the right solution to have an image or a background that will be at least able to cover

    monitor 27 inch?

    the site is: www.perfectpairoptometry.com

    Scroll to the right, right on the opening page, and you'll see what I mean.

    Thank you

    Hello

    Please check if you have any element outside of the area of the page.

    To check the same:

    • Open the site with Muse
    • Press Ctrl + 0 (Cmd + 0 for Mac), to tailor the site to the window
    • Press Ctrl + A (Cmd + A Mac), select all
    • And check if any element is located outside the width of the page

    Also, check the same for master pages.

    Let me know if this helps.

  • Adding images to the sides of the page width is fixed?

    Hey all -

    I was wondering how much it is difficult to add an image to both sides of a sheet of fixed width (960px). Something like the American Motorcyclist Association. Their images are clickable ads - I just want to add static images.

    I did a "view source" but does not know where one ends and another begins.  Add these images side would affect the reactivity of a site? Thank you.

    Of course that they are. But I had a bad thing-

    HTML {}

    background-image: url (.. / _img/bkg3.jpg);

    min-height: 100%! important;

    }

    {body

    Background: url (.. / _img/halfElephant3.jpg) not repeat fixed high on the right;

    margin: 0;

    do-family: Calibri, "Trebuchet MS", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;

    color: #771E00;

    min-height: 100%! important;

    }

    {#outer}

    Background: url (.. / _img/buffaloBG2.jpg) not repeat fixed left - 10px;

    }

    The two half images are on the body and that div. #outer The html code has this image of green background.

  • Adding to my last question... To keep a background image in the center of the Web page when the browser is shrun

    How do do that?  What is the CSS that makes this work?

    Centers of the background, even when the browser window is smaller or the screen resolution is less, but the content remains stationary in the center of the page: www.signatureweddingsbyjenna.ca

    Hello Jules

    I think that Nancy replied to your question in the other thread.

    I have the site you give as an example, this is the CSS that applies to this image:

    {body
    background - image: URL("page_images/background.jpg");
    bottom-top position: center;
    background-repeat: repeat no.;

    }
    Then of course, it is applied as the context in which theelement, it is placed in the Center and on it and it does not repeat itself.  It is what keeps the central image on the page.  Also helps is that the page is a centered layout.  In the example page that you gave, they have this:
    #page, closure-blocks # {}
    margin-left: auto;
    margin-right: auto;
    Width: 1000px;

    }

    Set the width is important and defining the left/right margin as it means that the browser will allocate the rest of the available space at each margin evently between the two, or put content in the middle.  The only other thing you do is to set the content of the site to the center using
    text-align: center
    It is exlpained herefully.  The only other thing the site has done is put a bit of image information in another element to make it appear that the background image loops in the content.

  • background image of the page of Google in firefox is too big

    The background image of the page of Google in firefox is too much...

    In this case perhaps 70% of the time that I open Firefox on the Google page, sometimes, I open the browser at the top of Google and it appears correctly, but often (like now...), it displays the background image of the word "Google" so enormous that it cannot fit in the box provided for this purpose.

    The search bar appears to be blocked or crushed by this huge image and it is very difficult to find the cursor in there. I have a screenshot, but isn't sure how to get you again. Really hope you can help me solve this problem, it was thus for a few months now, I uninstalled all the zoom add-ons/plugins and have cleared the cache without success. I uninstalled Firefox with totally stripped of the re-installed Revo but the problem resurfaced immediately. This behavior does not seem to affect the homepage of Google and IE9/Chrome self-paced perfectly.

    Alternatively, you can clear your Google cookies in case there are some incompatible or obsolete parameters being sent to Google when you load the page.

    Save any work first (for example, Gmail, Google Docs). While displaying a page on the site:

    • Right click and select View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies".
    • ALT + t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies".

    In the dialog box that opens, you can delete all Google cookies individually.

    Then try to reload the page. Who help me?
