Halo 2 Vista on Windows 7 problems: LIVE service may be unavailable, or something something something network.

Sorry for the vague description of the context menu I get, but I recently (a few months ago) got an Asus G73JH - RBBX05 laptop Windows 7 64-bit games and I ordered Halo 2 Vista if I could play multiplayer fun. Soon, I encountered many problems play.

My first problem is that I got a popup saying there was an update that should be installed, and when I chose 'Yes', he waited for a while and then said "the update could not be downloaded.

I CORRECTED THIS (hard to believe) ME by going to the site of Halo 2 Vista and download the manual patch. After that, I had no longer the popup. Unfortunately, I had one OTHER PROBLEM that I still have trouble.

Now when I press home and connect to my account LIVE, IvanTheBrutal, (gold) he's going to the ' download profile. It may take a few minutes.' phase.

Capitalized for emphasis...

AFTER A WAIT OF A FEW SECONDS, I GET A POPUP SAYING "THE SERVICE MAY BE UNAVAILABLE, OR SOMETHING THE NETWORK SOMETHING".

I tried this method of 8 steps of fixing (I found it here: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistagaming/thread/ba12104b-87f2-4b4d-81e0-9466ae91bf5d)

It did not work. Nothing is changed.

I have the latest version of the GFWL client (which doesn't seem to be the problem.) I tried to disable Kaspersky, download to bypass the problem and method of 8 steps, I spoke earlier. Nothing has failed.

If someone could help me with this problem, so I can play Halo 2 multiplayer LIVE Vista, I appreciate it.

Hello, have you tried the patch by renegade?

ReNeGaDe is a well known hacker, he made one of only a few patches, I know. It just came out a week ago and it is virus free.

  • by clicking on find printer displays error "The Active Directory Domain Services is currently unavailable" I am on a network home windows 8

When I use word and the products that come with it, I get the above error message.  Then the print job does not print.  Have you tried a lot of bugs, but none have worked.  Help, please.  I'm pulling my hair out.

    Hi Ibilofsky,

Clear printer spooler files and activate the spooler service and check if the number fixed.

    Step 1

    (a) press the Windows key + R, type "Services.msc" (without the quotation marks) in the Open box and click OK.

    (b) double click on "Printer Spooler" in the Services list.

    (c) click on stop, and then click OK.

    (d) press the Windows key + R, type %WINDIR%\system32\spool\printers in the open window and delete all the files in this folder.

    Step 2

You must be logged on as administrator to perform these steps.

    (a) open services and right - click the Print Spooler service, and then click Properties.

    (b) under the general tab, next to startup type, make sure that automatic is selected.

    (c) if the service does not, under Service status, click Start, and then click OK. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Check the status of the issue.

    It worked perfectly.

All installed printers came instantly. No need to reinstall the printer etc drivers they worked already well before the show. It was a spooler problem.

    Thank you.

  • Upgrade Vista to Windows 7 problems

Hi, I just reformatted my laptop which was running a Windows 7 upgrade from Vista.  However, I have one after formatting, it keeps telling me I need to download Vista SP1 and SP2 before I can update.  I did all the possible improvements (101 total) and attempted to directly update the SP1 and SP2 on the site of Microsoft, but for some reason any, there does not seem to download.

    Any advice would be welcome.

    Caz

Try to download the SP1 and SP2 in a folder on your hard drive. And then double-click the SP1 file to install it, even for SP2.

  • Windows 7 32-bit slow start of blue circle hangs on the network icon in the tray for 10 minutes, some programs don't load until the problem resolves.

    Hello world.

It will be long and windy.

I have a problem with my Dell XPS M1530.

im going to write down the details of my question, short first. so if you want you can read my short story on my laptop and I.

    • Slow start.
    • Network at startup initialization problem.
    • Blue circle weighs on my network icon in the taskbar notification for 10 minutes or more. then she disappears with the problem that everything starts to operate correctly.
    • some startup programs do not start until the issue is resolved. (blue circle disappears) i.e. Dell touchpad, magic disc, pda.net and perhaps language bar.
    • programs that have to do with the network or the internet such as IE or center network to hang until the issue is resolved.
    • Some programs won't load if started up that the problem is solved. i.e. open office, cakewalk sonar.

Another thing, I noticed. If I have automatic network connection configuration and the network is in range when I launch firefox I can actually serf the web regardless of the question.

I'm not the only one having this problem, but solutions that work for some do not work for me. some of the things I've tried to understand.

    • has run msconfig to see if it is one of the start up programs or cervix causing the problem. found nothing.
    • has ran the command cmd, I forgot what's it called some thing/something else. It digitizes and restores the registers according to me. did not help
    • Used pc AVG scanner. then corrected all the errors found and the questions. did not help.
    • reinstalled the network drivers. did not help.
    • Ran startup recovery tool to fix problems at the beginning. did not help.
    • Booted up my laptop in SafeMode with network. Works very well

Also, the problem started not with win 7 install I had it on my laptop well before the Enigma.

im running Windows 7 Professional 32-bit. as if lately, about 3 months ago, my laptop started to start slowly and be laggy when the system boots. I have no much attention at first. Since the question does not disappear on its own, I noticed that my network in the notification bar icon has a blue circle probably because its network initialization or loading something that is bound to it something as is. After about 10 minutes the issue resolves itself and everything works fine until I have reboot or restart. also if I put my laptop to sleep when I start it it works fine. I think that the time to resolve that issue got longer it is about 10 min now but it used a lot less. at least that's what I recall. In addition, I noticed a few more things. If I left click on the network icon does nothing when normally it will display network connections. If I right click on it displays troubleshooting and Open Network and Sharing Center. Troubleshooting doesn't help and returns nothing. Network and sharing Center is suspended until the problem resolves. in fact, some programs won't load until it the problem goes away like internet explore, network and sharing virtually Center almost everything what has to do with the network and also other programs that require a little more resources e.g. cakewalk Sonar. In addition, other startup programs and services such as Dell touch pad, magic disk, PDA. NEt don't start until after the problem goes away. What else... the kicker is that while the issue is to present the networks I connect to automatically are in fact very well and I have internet, even though the network is still initializing. what I mean is that if I start my portable firefox and launch (cannot use IE because he hangs up) I can go online and the serf of the web.

Well, I am at a loss and don't know what to do next, except to format and clean install. However, people who did it until the problem was which leads me to believe that this is one of the windows updates may be.

If someone knows how to fix this problem or can give a kind of constructive contribution, I'm all ears.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Kosmosis,

I had the same problem, and after fishing trawl through the web to find answers, this is the most reliable solution that I found. At the very least, it will help to determine where the problem is.

    (1) reboot your computer.

    (2) go to Run--> services.msc

    (3) to sort the list by status (click the heading)

    (4) see those blocked at the 'boot '? These are your incriminated objects.

Apparently, Windows has problems initializing services, and until he solves, or give up, he can't go the rest of the startup procedure. Different people get stuck on different things. For me, it was the 'Server' service as jams it for 20 minutes or more.

    You have 2 options:

Right click 1)--> properties and change the Startup Type to "automatic (Delayed). This requires to load later, that hopefully allows all the rest at the end of initialization so that you can use the computer first.

    (2) read the Description of the service and see if you can find whats causing it to get stuck. In my case, 'Server' rule of network discovery, file sharing and printing. I realized that I UNPLUGGED a NAS from Buffalo, who worked as a print server as well. My windows was blocked to find a printer on a network that was no longer available. Remove the printer from devices solved the problem.

If all else fails, you can always try to disable the service. This is probably not the best reccomendation, like its there for a reason, but it might help you to troubleshoot.

  • When you try to run Halo 2 in Vista or Windows 7 get error "Gaming Live on Windows failed to Initialize"

    Hello

I have recently upgraded to Windows 7 from Vista, at which point my Halo 2 Vista stopped working, give me a message "Live Gaming on Windows failed to Initialize."  The game would not start it gave me this error message.

So, after reading a few suggestions and try to uninstall about everything, I started with a fresh new install of Windows 7.  The first and the only thing installed on the PC was Halo 2 Vista, but I got the SAME message.  I tried to update the game, all of the updates of Windows and Windows Live for Windows, but the game does not start.

In addition, I tried http://www.microsoft.com/games/halo2/, however when the aid application and entering my product ID on the box it says there is a problem even if it is the same product ID, I turned on the game with.

I am very angry at this point.  I really want to have to dual boot, especially as Halo 2 Vista lists as being Compatible with Windows 7.

  • Halo 2 Vista problems with Windows 7

I recently bought Halo 2. I just installed and the game does not start at the top. I installed it and reinstall it. I installed the recent game for the windows file. I've updated my computer. But the game does not start at the top. Since I have read that it is possible that there is some sort of compatibility issue with some windows 7.  Any suggestion or help would be most appreciated!
    Edit: *
After long search I could find the problem. My video card is a Nvidea 560 m. The thing is that most of these cards use the optimus technology. Trying to boot Halo 2 vista, the game thinks that your system runs only on graphics card intel, so unable to boot. The problem, I got different forums only focused on halo 2 vista, but then the other old games seems to have this problem.
The solution is to go to the Nvidia website and update your video card software.
The problem seems to have been resolved after January of 2012 for all users of nvidia optimus!

  • Halo 2 Vista works only with Windows 7

Hi, I have recently upgraded to Windows 7 and I play Halo 2 Vista.

    • I played Halo 2 Vista this morning and it worked well as it would in my older OS Windows Vista. But when I get back home later I get this message when I start the game.
    • LIVE gaming on Windows failed to initialize. Maybe it's because an another LIVE Gaming on Windows application (for example the dedicated server Halo 2) is running on the same computer. Otherwise, reinstall the game may fix this problem.
    • I've never touched my computer since I came back from the game Halo 3 of my friends house. This was from 09:30 - 20:00 now it comes up with the error.
    • I uninstalled 3 times, changed several times compatibility, installed the LIVE update manually and just update by itself.
I know that this isn't obviously a problem of compatibility due to the fact that I used to play on my Windows Vista SP2 and this morning.

One thing you can try is to clean boot your system and test it.  If the problem disappears, then it will show that there is another software that is in conflict with the game.    Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

  • Can not play multiplayer on Halo 2 for Vista on Windows 7 error "not available".

Original title: Halo 2 for Vista on Windows 7

Everything works with this game, except multiplayer.  Solo mode works fine, as does sign live.

When you try to play good multiplayer, no servers are listed and the articles Live (number of servers, the number of players, etc.) simply say "not available".
