HARD 301, problem with recovery disc error

I bought the laptop HP-DV74165DX-RB, my HARD drive broke down (error 301). Shipped original HDD 640 GB, I was unable to get a recovery (windows 7 Home premium) on a new 500 GB HARD drive. Error says that recovery cannot be created on a disk smaller than the shipped original HDD. Not able to get a 640 GB HARD drive, I'll be able to get a resumption of my self created DVDs on a 750 GB HARD drive, higher than shipped? Please help.

Also, I heard that more than once, it is difficult to obtain recovery of colonettes drive created on a new third-party HARD disk recovery.

What is the best way to get a recovery?

Hello

The recovery process should work Ok on a larger HARD drive.

However, there is perhaps a work around that will allow you to install Windows 7 on the 500 GB HARD drive, if you have (or can borrow) an installation disc Windows 7 at retail which is exactly the same version as your OEM installation - IE if your laptop comes with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit is the version exact of the retail that you need.

If you do not access to the retail drives, you can create an installation disk yourself - just download good picture disc from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO on a CD blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key Windows located on the underside of your laptop when requested and when the installation is complete use the 'method of phone", described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system - this method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want just a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally delivered with OEM installations.

All pilots additional and the software you need is found from here.

Kind regards

    Hello

Download and create the bootable CD as described at the link below.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=PV-80183-1&cc=us&LC=en&DLC=en

When you created this CD, insert it into the system that fails to start, restart, and wait until you see a window with a green check mark.  Next, remove the CD and insert your first recovery DVDs.  Reboot the PC and go through the process of installing the operating system again.  If all goes well, it should install properly this time.

  • 10-FC06-0002 - HARD drive recovery disc error load XP and Windows 7 very well

OK, so I have a Toshiba laptop I want to restore because I had used it for school and he had a lot of things about what I didn't need and turned slowly. Rather than take things one by one, I thought it would be better to start from scratch. I jumped in the recovery discs, I created, restarted the computer and booted from the DVD. I have chosen all the settings to restore the computer to out-of-the-box settings and a time window that says «copy files please wait...» "After that the screen disappeared after 10 minutes or so, another window flashes on the screen for a split second (has not yet the chance to see what it was) and then an error window pops up error 10-FC06-0002. The only thing I can do is shut down my computer, and it does not start after that. After trying several times, I decided to come here.

I know what you say. "Before coming here, search or something, there are tons of problems like that here." Well, I'm looking, and all the results told me to "make a copy of your drive and see if it works, if not its your HARD drive ' tried to make an exact copy of the disk using a tool to copy DVD of Google, no dice. I tried copy the files from the disc on the desktop on disk, did not work. Copied files on an old thumb drive and booted from it. The same problem. Make one. ISO disk image and it has burned, triggered the error as well. No matter how I try to run the restore files, the same error message prevails. This would point to the hard drive being broken, correct? This is where I get lost, Windows XP installs flawlessly and works faster that any other computer I used it, as well as Windows 7 beta does.

    -------

Does anyone know a fix to this error so I can restore my computer? Should I order new disks of recovery at Toshiba? How much do cost?

    -------

I created these recovery disks about a week after the computer is turned on for the first time. The only software on the subject was the preloaded software, Mozilla Firefox, and MSN Messenger. These two programs would have caused corrupted recovery discs to bring?

THANKS FOR ANY HELP IN ADVANCE! : D

    -----------

EDIT: Should probably tell you some info on the laptop. It is a Toshiba A200 - AH6, try to restore Windows Vista recovery disks created in the Toshiba Recovery Manager.

    Hello!

To me it sounds like it's your Toshiba Recovery disk is noisy or something else. It seems that the disc can't be read properly.
I doubt that s a hardware issue because you tried a XP and Windows 7 disk successfully.
But as Akuma says that this can happen also due a poor quality DVD media.

In any case, I think you need to order a new drive Toshiba Recovery directly.

Finally and above all the software that you have installed (Firefox and MSN) didn t cause corrupted recovery disk. Theoretically, you can install what you want before you create the recovery disk. The recovery disk creator burning a disc bootable with the files in the folder HDDrecovery on the second partition. All programs that you have installed must be installed after recovery again.

  • "HP pavilion slimline: problem with the disc of"recovery"would be"

I just got a Seagate 1 TB drive backup and have backed up my entire computer to him.  My concern is that my "D" drive, the separate part of my computer that contains the disc "recovery", is almost completely full - its presentation as a solid red bar on my screen - only left 320Mo of 11.7 GB - would have this effect, the performance of my computer at all?  Why is it so plenty of anyway and what can do about it?  Problems with my email and its indicating that I am "" out of memory "-well, I've got a lot of memory on my C drive, which is not a problem, but the same effect my email D drive?"  I use Windows LIVE mail incidentally, and I had problems in the past with it, been quite some time however.  Woud grateful for the help with this.  He used to ask me to put in CD on backup drive D with - don't know why, but I immediately my Seagate drive, now, just do not know what I have to do at this point.  Thanks for any help.

I have no idea why the "D" drive is a solid red bar, nor why it is so full.  I've changed nothing since I bought the computer.  How would I know if something is to use the D drive?  I thought that it was 'partitioned' off so that he couldn't be touched?  I have everything on my laptop hard drive Seagate, and I mean everything.  I also have system recovery disks of mirror image right after I bought the computer, but that does not tell me why that drive D is now completely "full", it should not be.

I don't know if you have "solved" the problem, but I guess that the D drive is of no consequence right now even if its 'full' and probably shouldn't be.  Maybe my problem is WINDOWS LIVE MAIL, and I maybe need to do another post to see if anyone can help with the next.  Thank you.

I have recived a message error (error bios 501) was one that says windows could not start at this point I did a system restore, it worked then it instaled updates and when I turned it off it seamed ok a few days elapsed before I go back and it didn't start so I tried to do the same restore point who had worked but im guess I chose the one bad because after that I could get in the bios for the test command and start system and info windows recovery tool not forbear even so I am really crazy and just ordered the HP recovery disks have tried a couple of times he says it didn't I saved a copy of the details , but I don't know how to open it so I can copy and past I also tried putting it in a windows disk because I realized that one problem I had is a new hard drive my boyfriend out the HDD without asking and wiped it and put it in his laptop, my friend was helping me with the laptop, but cannot stop now can someone please help

Assume your drive recovery is ongoing demand... because the 501 error has not might be related to your operating system... or the hard drive...

Maybe think I didn't read clearly on your description, but it seems that you already have recovery files broken, or the HARD drive is on form, no? Suggest that you call service help find someone help on data recovery. If the HARD drive has already been fomatted, it will take a few HARD drive recovery professional technician to do this action, using special equipment or tools. Sometimes it can get the restored data sometimes it breaks down, according to the State of the HARD drive. If he's already got formatt low level, it would be very unlikely to recover data... Then... you'd call better help service. Hope you can recover data.

If you have already saved data I just re - install the operating system. It is easier. Alternatively, you can call the service provide the recovery disc number (printed on the label on the disc) see it's the right disc for your device. And try to use the right disc for re-installing.

  • Satellite M30X: Trojan horse - total Formate with recovery disc?

    Hello

I had a Trojan horse on my Satellite M30X. My Antivirus deleted, but every time I've been connected to the Internet, it appeared again. Not connected to the Internet it doesn't give me any problems. As I couldn't get rid of him, I backed up all my data and do a fresh install from the recovery disc. As long as the button for LAN wireless is disabled, everything works fine, but just a little while, after I turned on it, I get a blue screen. When I restart my computer with WIFI turned on, it produces a blue screen before Windows is properly loaded, even during installation. I tried restoring 3 times, but it's always the same result.

1 is it possible, that the Trojan horse destroyed things of the pre installation?
    2. I can't choose to make a formatting during the recovery process. All data are lost, but I feel that's not formate the hard drive correctly, when everything is destroyed. It crushes just stuff?
    3. is there a way to make a good formatting, then install completely new Windows?

It is not a problem of my WLAN card, internet being no problem under Linux.

    Thank you for your help

    Todier

    Hello!

If you use the whole HARD disk Toshiba Recovery disk will be formatted so if you have any virus or Trojans on your laptop, they will be also deleted.

But what BSOD code are you have? Are you sure that's the reason why the virus?
You have the same problem if you connect a network cable to the laptop?

  • Satellite C655D - problem with recovery

    Hello
I have the Satellite C655D-S5515 with no additional DVD.
I want it back or fabric.
When, during boot press 0, not getting no RECOVERY option not only choose the operating system (Windows 7 only).
How can I make laptop recovery?

At first, I must say that since a long time, Toshiba and many other manufacturers of laptop also, doesn t offer disk facility with new laptops. Recovery image is saved on the HARD drive and the laptop owner should create backup recovery, recovery media creation. Its operation is clearly described in the document s user manuals.

In General, when your laptop has a factory settings and changes nothing, you should be able to begin the installation of HARD drive recovery. I don't know what the problem with your machine and what is the reason why this option is not available, but what you need now is the installation of recovery disc.

If you don't you should be able to order it. For making this visit https://support.toshiba.com/repair?orderType=SFF

  • M1V66UA: problem with recovery media disk drive

my laptop is HP envy x 360 bought around December 2015(it is still guaranteed).

Today, I had a problem with my laptop (inaccessible boot device error) and a HPteam even could not able to solve it and told me that the recovery order media disk.

    the problem is:

I bought the laptop in the United States when I was a customer place and now I am in India .

HP India has informed me that they will not consider my request for recovery media order disk since I bought the laptop outside the India and told me to contact them.

    My question is

How can I order the disc of recovery in India?

    Hello

First of all, you can download microsoft iso and burn it to DVD or USB without needing a key, so do a good job of it for future use.

If you have a real Windows 10 installation the system map is saved as your key with microsoft, so you do not need a new.

Once you have fixed starting problems, MAKE YOUR OWN RECOVERY MEDIA IMMEDIATELY.

Jelly Beanstalk will find your product key for future use, but it is locked to the system board.

Piriform Speccy and Belarc Advisor will also add your serial number for a knowledge need.

    If in doubt please ask.

  • Problem with recovery Partition(After i got a Virus)

    Hi all

I use HP Envy 15 laptop with windows 7 Home premium x 64 bit installed. I don't create the recovery discs since I've had this laptop and what happened is that I had a virus on the internet but I have fixed almost all the defects of the system caused by the latter, but the main problem for me, is that it changes all the Player main file name in Virus1232 for example (d:\recovery converted d:\virus1234) and I spent hours on the internet for the names of folders and files right and I got them all but only a single file, not sure. My problem is when I enter the Recovery Manager it detects none my recovery partition (but the virus is not responsible for any deletion of file it just caused some change system) and just to talk I've also corrected the names of folders and files in the c: drive, since they are necessary also.

What are the names of files I got in the D: drive: bootmgr - BT_HP.flg - CSP. DAT - DeployRp.log - HPSF_Rep.txt - language.ini. and let him file name is the one im not sure of: "HP_WSD.dat" (it's a file of size zero).

    The recoverymgrdump.txt just works & "leaving CSBRMgr::GetRPTOOLPartIndex!
    then he said to me:

"Win32 System Info Code = 3, Message Info = the system does not have the specified path."

    and he also said:

    "CSBRMgr::HpcdFlgIsExistInUP : \WINDOWS\hpdrcu.prc does not exist."

I don't know if this is normal, but also the deployrp.log gives me this error:

"The package does not exist: c:\RM\Tools\DeployRp\WinPE_LangPacks\64\winpe-setup.cab.

of course there are errors more in both files, but I guess that those who are the most important.

So my question is: the attributes of file in the d: drive would be responsible for this error (I changed all the attributes to be hidden and read-only system)

    OR

If anyone has a solution please tell me what to do.

    Thank you.

    Hello

After you perform a clean installation of Windows 10 I had problem with closing down my pc, it's a bug to win 10. So I decided to reinstall Windows 7 on my Acer Aspire M3920 of my recovery DVD made by Acer eRecovery management.

The problem is, Setup stops and the #1 restore disc pops out after that the files were loaded from disk and is ready to begin the installation.

This is the message: "there isn't enough free disk space on the drive for the files needed to continue the operation.

PS: Before installing Windows 10, I deleted all the files and partitions on the hard drive. Maybe it's the origin of the problem?

    Someone who can help me?

    Download the .iso file
then use a software to burn CD/DVD or USB flash drive and burn the .iso file
Once completed, put the CD/DVD/USB on your PC, boot from CD/USB (maybe you need to start under the legacy if you have the UEFI BIOS)
Press F12 on startup and choose the CD or USB
at the level of the Office
    Select your HARD drive
Right-click on the icon for your HARD drive and choose completely erase your HARD drive (it will erase any GPT or MBR at the disk), choose the first option after selecting the clear function.
Exit the wizard partition, boot from the BIOS, UEFI return of the Legacy (if you have the UEFI BIOS) and boot from media erecovery.

  • Can I retrieve C only on Satellite A300 with recovery disc?

    Hello!

I am new to the new installation Windows built-in type. I was familiar with the old with Norton ghost. It was easy for me, but I have a problem with the new. I wants to recover C only on my laptop with a different size than the size of the plant.

I want to delete the first partition and reorganize others because I want bigger partition for my data and small Partition for my system. Can I start the program with the CD, and then insert the Toshiba recovery disc and use the image of Vista on recovery DVD to recover only the C drive?

Excuse me for my English. :-)

    Hello

At first, I must say that your English is very good and understandable. ;)

Back to the question of the recovery. I agree with you. With old Norton ghost recovery image, it was possible to install the operating system on a partition only. Unfortunately with the recovery media that you can create with your Satellite A300, something like this is not possible.
