HARD disk installation problem

I have a PC that I use as a server, it has a 500 MB HARD disk for windows system, programs and data HDD 3TO.

After a power cut/spike it was start on a blue screen of death.

I checked the two hard disc in a disc case and found a fine of data and the system cannot be read and it showed as not formatted. I reformatted the drive and everything was going well.

When I try to reinstall windows using the USB u (not the DVD drive on PC) it fails to recognize the drive system as an option to install windows on. It appears in the line of the BIOS and cmd ok (via repair system), but it won't let me install windows on it to him.

I checked the cables and I can see all seems fine.

I switch the cables connecting the system and data drives but windows still only sees the data reader, regardless of the connections.

SATA is located in DCIS.

I tried to install, windows 7, 8 and even XP! All are unable to see the player.

Someone at - it suggestions why this could be?

Hello

You can get the first 3 TB drive... even if that does not cause a problem, now it can have negative consequences in the future.

Try to download an ISO of the wizard Partition 8.1.1 and reformat again...

It runs from a bootable CD, so you can work around any problems of Windows...

BTW... If you use UEFI Bios, it must be formatted as a type GPT disk...

If you do not use UEFI type MBR format would be better...

    You now have two options:

1 / to install original created recovery image recovery (USB or DVD) media. If you have created a? If you do not you can order. For the installation of recovery you need not key product

2 / Installing the OS using the Microsoft installation disc. This has nothing to do with Toshiba and produces the key that you got for the recovery image (original version OS that you got with your laptop). In this case, you must buy it and pay the license for this version of the OS

I have a HP DV6-6001TX with the 6770 m GC. I tried to boot my laptop for a while now, but every time he says hard disk not detected and undetected boot device. I tried to secure the connection from the HARD disk several times without success. What should I do now?

    Hello

It is perhaps that your hard drive has failed and needs to be replaced.

As a new trial and to help eliminate a problem with the Sata controller, try the following.

Follow the procedure below to create a bootable Ubuntu CD and follow the steps in part 3 of 'Try' to see if the operating system is running.  The option 'Try' runs the operating system from the CD without having to install on your HARD drive.  If it works Ok (it will be slow running on a CD), this would tend to confirm that the problem is only with the HARD drive.

If your laptop is still under warranty, you can contact HP and arrange for the replaced HARD disk - you can check your warranty status.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

If you are out of warranty and would like a guide to replacing the hard drive yourself, let me know.

  • Faced with the hard disk installer...

Hey, this is my first post.  I tried the trawling through the various forum posts, and other Web sites and videos however I am having a bit of trouble to the where I want to go regarding them have Windows Home Server up and it works perfectly in ESXi.  I have attached a diagram of installation old as running WHS on my HP Server but I wanted to upgrade to WHS 2011, I had and I thought that it is the best time to try virtualization as well.

I have a physical machine with 3 hard disks.  1 x 250 GB, 1 x 2 TB and 1 x 100GB.  I intend use the 250 GB HD to install my s VM, IE.  WHS 2011 (already completed and running), Linux, XP etc.  However, what I want to do, is when you are logged in WHS, I want to be able to store all my music, photos, media, etc., on the 2 TB drive and to be able to access them in not only WHS, but other BONES as well.  I've read about RDM however, I get nowhere with her.

On my old configuration, I also had a few runnign programs that would automatically download episodes of TV series for me and place them on the 100 GB hard drive, which was not part of the pool of storage in WHS.  I would then move them manually in the actions concerned.  Basically, I want to be able to do all this in the virtual environment.

The scene, I am at this time, is that I have esxi installed with WHS 2011 installed on the hard drive of 250 GB.  I can log on and get the WHS Office ETC.

Can someone help me with this?

Welcome to the VMware forums communities.

With the RDM vSphere client are limited to SAN lun.  For a local SATA device, you'll want to use this method - http://vm-help.com/esx40i/SATA_RDMs.php.

  • hard disk: serious problem

Hi to create a new volume shrunk i C drive using the computer management tool. In fact, it has shrunk. And I got a message like an INTERNAL ERROR happened. Now I can't see the United Nations space allocated and narrowed part of my disk is missing.

    Hi mohdrafi,.

I suggest you try the following steps:

Step 1: Restart the computer once and check whether the unallocated volume exists.

Step 2: Use the disk part command:

    (a) click Start and in the start search bar type cmd, right-click on the command prompt icon in the box programs and then click Run as administrator.

    (b) at the command prompt, type diskpart , and then on enter.

    (c) type list diskand press ENTER. A list of available hard disks.

    (d) type salt disc numberand press ENTER. Number is the number of the hard disk where you want to create a volume; the hard drive is now selected.

    (e) type det disk, and then press ENTER. A list of partitions on the hard disk. Use this information to check if the unallocated volume exists.

    f) salt volume numberType, and then press ENTER. Number is the number of the volume where you want to create a partition - unallocated volume

    (g) type create partition primary

    $newdisk = import-Csv "Serveurs.csv".

    ##---Connexion to the VirtualCenter-

    #Connectez VIserver $vcenter

    # - Each Variable is a column of the CSV in case.

    $newdisk | % {

    VMName, cd, disc, NewSize
    SEQDEV, "[TEST150A] ISO/pe-defrag - directboot.iso ', 'Disk 1', 35000000

And it gives me this error:

    Same thing...

Together-hard drive requires a hard disk object, not a string containing its name. You need to filter the drive to extend using a where clause clause that you run now all the cmdlet Set-hard drive hard drives.

    Try something like this:

    Get-hard drive - VM $VMName | Où {$_. Name - eq $disk} | Together-hard drive -CapacityKB $NewSize -confirm: $false

  • Hard disk space problems

I have a MacBook Pro three years, with a hard drive of 250 GB. I have about 28 GB of free space. Try to free up more space that I deleted a few thousand pictures from iPhoto are also in the picture. My photos on the hard drive space has decreased about 5 GB, but the space allocated to the 'other' has increased by a comparable amount. Why?

I don't know but I would download and run Omni DiskSweeper. It can help you to sort out the problems of disk space and free space.

  • HARD drive installation problems

I have an old Dimension 4600 that recently failed to initialize.  (BSOD appears just after the start screen)  The IDE Diagnostics from Dell (result: failure) indicated that the drive was dead, which was not unexpected - it was the hard original supplied with the system that I've had for 3 years, and I had also been do the BSOD in too many occasions in recent weeks.  The failed drive was the boot drive (master) - the system also has a second IDE HDD (slave) who did pass the diagnostic test.

I installed a new hard drive and proceeded with the installation of Windows XP.  Installation stops during formatting, with an error message indicating that the installation could not continue and that the HARD drive may be bad.  I have run the Dell Diagnostic and failure of the drive.

I then pasted the new drive in an other Dimension 4600 (also XP) as the slave drive and it meets the diagnostic test.

Can anyone shed light on what may be the problem with system #1?

    Thank you all...

  • Hard disk installation

I am adding a hard drive to a desktop computer (Pavilion a6857c) and need to know the size maximum (GB) and SATA (Type 3?).

    I use Windows 7.

    Hello:

I don't know the maximum size of HARD drive, you can install, probably at least 1 TB (1000 GB).

You can get a SATA III disc, but based on the chipset that your PC, it will run the high-speed SATA II.

I you a SATA II drive if it was much cheaper than the newer SATA III disc, which I doubt it will be.

  • 4 TB HARD drive installation problem

I tried to install a new Seagate 4 to hdd on my desktop Dell XPS9000 as a second HDD to replace the old 1.5 to which was full. This isn't a main drive (SATA1 position). However, when trying to format the new drive, I got a blue screen and was never able to recover my system. Had to reinstall Windows 7 pro from a Dell recovery disk, I did 4 years ago. The BIOS would not recognize the new 4 size to. It shows only 1.8 to. I have updrated the BIOS to A16 found on the Dell site than the last but still the same 1.8 to.

Wouldn't be the SATA controller that does not support behyond 2 TB HDD? Or something escapes me?

Thanks in advance for any help.

This is not correct. You don't need UEFI to use a 4 TB drive. However, it is possible that your BIOS does not support a car that big. The external casing option was a good choice. Gives you some flexibility.

    Good luck!

My laptop came with a 120 GB hard drive and I ordered a new unit of 500 GB from NewEgg but when I went to install the connectors are different. Both are SATA but the original has pins, and as far as I can tell from pictures of other computer laptop HD and the other, they are all different. Is their some kind of adapter or something? What I'm missing here?

Yes, there may be a removable adapter on the original drive, he slides with a little persuasion with a small flat screwdriver.

If the old hard drive looks like this it is Pata not Sata

I bought 5 Lightroom and try to install the software on the disc and my computer guard spits the disc as if it is not recognized.  Other discs play and mount very well.  I use a Mac Mini with 8 GB of Ram runninng OSX 10.8.4.  I called the support to see if I could get a download of the software and activate it using my serial number - they said it would cost me $29,99.  I already bought this software and refuse to pay anything more!  Any suggestions?

You should be able to download the free trial from the Lightroom web page and use your serial number to activate it.  Just click the Try button.
