HARD drive allows you to void the warranty on the Satellite Z830?

Hello

I just formatted my new (awesome) z830, cancelled all partitions one installed a clean copy of W7.
Everything has worked out perfectly well.

But... I forgot to create the recovery DVD, so I can't go back to the factory settings.
Have cancelled my warranty somehow? I hope that the material will be always guaranteed...

Thanks in advance,

Paolo

No, I just hope that you have registered your new laptop.

    Hello

First of all, I'm Dutch so I hope that I do not have too many mistakes in my English writing.

    I bought a 2800-200 Satellite at a friend's House. This laptop has a problem.
When it is started is says "insert the disk in the drive system. Press a key when readya?.

My bios is ACPI BIOS version 1.80
In Pheripheral in Bios it says disc hard = not used Mode.

On page two discs i/o: HARD drive: no drive.

I tried two hard drives and the two were not working and not recognized in the BIOS.
I have no CD of restoration.

    My questions:

What kind of central computer has this laptop?
Can someone help me with the recovery CD?
What can I do to fix this?
How can I change my BIOS so that the HARD drive is recognized?

My hard drive is MK2023GAS and is not broken. There is nothing on this HARD drive.
But also with the disk hard 10 GB of origin, I had the same problem.

I hope you can help me and once again I apologize for my English.

    Hello

I'll try to help you my friend.

    > When it is started is says "insert the disk in the drive system. Press any key when ready
This message appeared on my laptop after the HARD disk is dead.
I had to replace the HARD drive and reinstall the operating system.

I guess that it of the same problem with your laptop. The HARD drive is not present or not recognized, and you will need to install a compatible HDD for the operation of the OS.

I have google a bit and discovered that this laptop comes with the 10 GB HARD MK1016GAP of Toshiba drive. It supports the interface ATA-2/ATA-3/ATA-4/ATA-5.

Please note that many BIOS have a limit of size of HARD drive. This means that not all HARD drive sizes are supported! I assume a 20 GB should be compatible, but this is just my own opinion
    > How can I change my BIOS so that the HARD drive is recognized?
The BIOS can be modified outside the update (check page driver Toshiba-> Archive-> archive of Satellite).
But vary important is that you use a compatible HARD drive.

    > Can someone help me with the recovery CD?
Don t know if you will be able to order this CD at the service provider allowed in your country, because the laptop is really an oldie. But you should ask the guys.
What you is to install the OS from the Microsoft CD-ROM and then could install drivers needed.

  • Windows 8 cannot connect to the external hard drive after you have added the drive case.

Original title: I have my hard drive from my previous PC attached to my new PC with windows 8. My old PC had XP. How to access the external hard drive?

I had problems with my XP operating system and could not transfer all the files to my new PC. I spoke with Dell who I believe created the problem with software support. I was told to get out the hard drive, buy a hard drive enclosure and get my files from there. I can't find the hard drive.

    Hello

    Thank you for the update.

Given that the problem occurs when the hard drive is connected to a different USB port or another computer, it is probably related to the connection of the hard disk.

Method 1: check if the problem occurs in another computer after removing the hard disk enclosure.

    Method 2:

Step 1: Check if the hard drive is detected in Windows Explorer.

To do this, follow these steps:

    a. connect the hard disk of the computer.

    b. press the Windows key + E to open Windows Explorer.

    c. check if the hard drive is present here.

Step 2: Check if the hard drive is detected in disk management.

To do this, follow these steps:

    a. on the desktop, press the Windows key + X , and then select disk management.

    b. check if the hard drive is listed there.

Contact the manufacturer of the hard drive and hard drive enclosure for assistance.

  • HARD drive and memory upgrade on the Satellite P200 - 17 c

    Hello

I own Satellite P200 17 c. My current memory is DDR2 PC2-5300 2 GB. I would like to upgrade to DDR2 PC2 - 6400 4 GB of ram. I can do and it's going to be some speed improvements, if I update to PC2-6400 PC2-5300 instead?

I have 2 hard drives on my P200 17 c. 2 x 100 GB. I want to upgrade one of these two HD ranging from 100 GB to 320 GB 5400 RPM. can I do this? and it'll be a difference if I update with HD who has 7200 RPM?

    Thank you

First of all: your machine is able to handle a maximum capacity of 4 GB RAM, but please be aware that you won´t be able to use all of the 4 GB due to some limitations of the chipset that are explained in the following article: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB82022E0000R01.htm

Regarding the speed of module: chipset specifications are defined for PC5300, so it will not improve your speed when you install faster modules.

If you want to upgrade your hard drive then do as you like, because it shouldn´t be any restrictions, you can install a drive with 7200 RPM with a slower.

The only difference will be that the faster drive faster. The performance of the entire system would increase only when you´re install your operating system on the disk more fast (which is the recommendation of my side :))

  • allows you to clone the disk to a new HARD external backup Mybook drive

I intend to add a second HDD (1 TB) in my XPS 400 (W8) to replace the original 250 GB HDD (2007) as the primary drive. Can I use my MyBook external drive upward, now ready for anything, backup to clone the original to the new HARD drive? It will pass the operating system and everything else without any problems? I'm hoping that this will be possible instead of using a utility of cloning as Apricorn, etc..

    Hello

When you clone a drive, you should be able to go directly from the original to the new...

If you try to Clone your MyBook, you will lose everything on it, and the reliability of the process would be questionable if it still works.

Why you can't clone directly to the new drive? Or the MyBook will be it.

And Yes, cloning moves all of the original to the new...

  • Hard drive is not recognized in the BIOS - Equium A60

Hi hope someone can help. I have a Toshiba Equium EA60-173 and the hard drive is not recognized in the BIOS. When I remove the hard drive and put it in another laptop it is detected fine. I also tried another hard drive in the Toshiba and that does not work either. So I suspect the IDE controller has disappeared, but can I do to confirm this? I wish there was an option in the BIOS to force detection. I updated the BIOS but still the same.

This laptop is only just out of warranty, so if it is the controller would I need to replace the motherboard? Are there other options at my disposal?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Neil,

Unless there is some physical\problem with the cable/connector hard drive, then it is most likely that you will have a new mainboard for your laptop. I suggest you to contact an authorized service partner and ask them to check your laptop and give you an estimate of the cost of the repair. Then you can try to shop for less expensive alternatives.

    Kind regards

  • new computer with win 7 pro when it is connected to a Flash drive or external hard drive poster, you have currently not authorized to access this folder or location is not available

There are now 4 computers in front of me.

Two are laptops 17 inch hp (consumer)

Two are workstations mobile hp 17 inch (company)

On the consumer books, I can view the files on my external hard drive 1 to and 1 GB player.

On the company workstation (mobile), I'm not able to view the files on the hard drive or flash drive.

I need your help so that I can save files from the internal hard drive of the mobile platform of book z hard disk external.  And I need to be able to reconnect the external drives and readers to the Zbook mobile workstation to transfer files to transfer flash.

These are the pop ups that appear for each when displaying of readers by opening my computer:

When left click hard disk drive a pop up appears with the title bar: location is not available.

    H:\ is not accessible.

    Access is denied.

Make a right click on the hard drive allows FreeAgent GoFlex drive opening (h :)) properties)

The tabs are ReadyBoost, previous Versions, Quota, customize, general, tools, hardware, sharing, security

By clicking on security of advances and then permissions then continue and then change my name owner or administrator... both methods result in the same access denied result once again.

I came across this http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/00d04415-2b2f-422c-b70e-b18ff918c281 is this something I need to study and learn before I am able to connect and use an external drive or flash?  Or is there another problem?  If the answer is in this link, do I have to put emphasis on and why wasn't windows 7 configured so that it is easy to use external drives as in win xp and win 8?  Are all usb ports do not or all drivers of failing or is it a software problem all?

I was not able by trial and error to display all files on any hard drive or external flash on the two books of z of mobile workstation.

Then I went to the flash drive.

Left click on the flash drive produces a pop-up with title bar G:\

You don't have permission to access this folder.

Click on continue to get permanent access to this folder.

After clicking on continue it opens another pop-up with title bar G:\

You have been denied permission to access this folder.

To access this folder, you will need to use the Security tab.

When clicking on the Security tab he opens a new pop with the title bar: removable disk (g) properties

The tabs are general, tools, hardware, sharing, ReadyBoost, customize

He did not indicate what to do next.

    Summary:

Two new computers hp zbook stations mobile work with win 7 pro

Or computers with their multiple ports usb allows to access my external hard drive or flash drive.

The external hard disk and flash dirve each work very well with the consumer portable computers hp with winning 8 and 8.1 of win and have worked with computers with win xp.

How can I get the Replicator hp z book with win 7 pro for usb drives work with external hard drives or external flash drives?

I have so far done the following:

    (1) run administrative guest with sfc/scannow and it found no violations of integrity

    (2) ran microsoft fixit will be all available Parameters which automatically checked and corrected each book workstation z mobile http://support.microsoft.com/mats/windows_file_and_folder_diag/

    (3) contacted HP support

    (4) checked for malware using microsoft security essentials, malwarebytes and spybot on each mobile workstation

    (5) updated drivers using HP support assistant on each computer

    (6) windows update the device HP support assistant on each computer

How do two new computers with win 7 pro can be connected to external drives that allow to view the files as they do with win xp and win 8 automatically?

How can I access my files on the external hard disk and flash the mobile workstation book z?

The specifications for the mobile workstation of zbook are:

Operating system: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Service Pack 1

Microprocessor: Intel core i7-4800MQ CPU @ 2.7 GHz

Moemory system: 16 GB of memory on 2 1600 MHz dimm

Graphics device 1: Nvidia Quadro K3100M

Graphics device 2: Intel HD 4600 graphics card

Hard drive 1: SCSI Disk Device

    C: 683.42 (613,62 free go-go)

    D: 12.21 GB (1,3 GB free)

    E: 1.99 GB (1.97 GB free)

The hard drive is a seagate 1 TB drive that works very well

The flash drive is a 1 GB drive which works very well

    This problem has been resolved.

Right-click all methods have not access external external hard drives and flash drives.

Sharing, permissions, ownership, administrative changes, all method all failed.

This problem has been resolved by higher HP product support.  Other levels of support were not able to diagnose the problem or fix.

The problem has been resolved by:

    (1) determine that he was not a NTFS problem

    (2) using the msconfig to isolate a single service

When the unique service has been disabled the files on any external drives have been available.

The service of the problem was the HP Client Security.

This HP Client Security in its default value is set to deny access.

Then right-click on the drive and change the permissions, ownership, to administrators, using everyone etc. will fail because they are all trumped by the HP Client Security that is set by default to deny access.

When that client security is changed the drives become available.  It is not information about this when using the computer and this can be learned by trial and error.

I hope this helps all those who have z book 17 mobile workstations or HP computers that are equipped with client security.

  • Add hard drive VCSA 5.5 to the data store

I do the jump for especially vsphere client of web & VCSA 5.5 to change settings on a virtual machine on a host in a data center. The host has 2 data warehouses. The virtual machine has 1 hard disk assigned to datastore1. I go to add HDD to VM but can't find where datastore2 go through them.

Non-Web client Vsphere 5.1 has allowed the addition of material. The wizard showed a location-> specify a cluster datastore or datstore. And then go to datastore2.

If you have any information leading to the resolution of this problem, I got thank you.

    Patrick,

First, to add a new disk to a computer virtual, the data store where you create the disc must be visible to the ESXi host where VM works... If this is the case, follow the procedure in documentation ESXi: Add a new hard drive in a VM in the Web Client vSphere

No, at least not by us.

Open a hard drive for some reason any at all can be done in special
laboratory as parameters. Something else will destroy the disk.

There are companies trying to recover data from broken disks,
and they are sometimes successful. And who knows, maybe they
sometimes use methods such as what you describe.

But if you plan to use such a company, know what they
are all very expensive. It does not for most people.

For the future, if you have files you want to be sure are not
lost, make sure to have in place a backup procedure on a regular basis the

  • How to switch my system on a larger hard drive without having to reinstall the OS and lose my data?

    replace the hard drive

I'm looking to replace my hard drive but I need all the files it is about it, passing a small hard drive to a larger hard drive. My question is how can I save all the files on the disk and how can I get the operating system on the new hard drive without the original disk

If your current system does not work, there is no need to bother with data backup, installation of applications and get a Windows XP installation CD (although regular backups are important to do as a general practice).

Instead, clone your current hard drive to your new hard drive.  All you need is an external hard drive enclosure and disk cloning software.  In addition, once you have made sure that everything works correctly, put the old drive in the external box and use it for backups.

Some of the cloning apps below are also disk 'images' (e.g. Acronis True Image).  A disk image can be compressed so that, for example 58 GB of data can produce a 40 GB image file.  Some of the apps, and of also can selectively backup specified files.

The housings of external drives more to connect to a USB port.  Make sure just that buy you one with the good 'form factor' (portable = 2.5 inches, computer desktop/Tower = 3.5 inches) and internal drive connector.  Many but not all speakers can deal with SATA and PATA time.

This example (for laptops) is not the less expensive external hard drive enclosure, but it's a decent case that can be used with either SATA or IDE (PATA) drives and comes with its own software package of cloning: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817155602

It is a very good buy for a drive IDE (PATA) Office size: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817155602

In general, Newegg is a good place for your search options by looking at the comments by users.

If you have a Western Digital hard drive, you can get a version of Acronis True Image free of WD (http://support.wdc.com/product/downloaddetail.asp?swid=119) or you can get the software of cloning separately (this is not an exhaustive list and in no particular order, some are free, some not):

Paragon Drive Copy or Partition Manager Personal
    Casper
