  I just installed a new hard drive on my Qosmio F30 - he came originally only with a 60 GB hard drive.

  The second disc is identical to the first in every way, i.e. of 60 GB drive Toshiba.

  I initialized the new drive and it also shows online and unallocated. I want to use the reader to basically increase my quality, not like a mirror and so chose this option using the RAID Utility.

  However when I expelore the C drive, it shows than the total capacity of the drives as 60 GB. I guess that both drives should be showing as a player, like 120 GB.

  The drive works properly?

  You can check in the BIOS if the second HDD is recognized correctly

  As you say you don t want to use a mirror mode, but then you must set the RAID0 stripping!

  Please also check the settings of the BIOS RAID!

  At page 242 user manual you will find all the details on the different options and what they are for

  Hi all, can you help me please?

  I had a virus on a download tried to get rid, but all not so tried to format the HARD drive and reload XP pro by putting in the disc and the loading, but find no hard drive after many attempts.

  So I removed the HARD drive and formatted on another pc handed over and tried again still no luck. So loaded XP Professional SP 1,2,3 to the HARD disk via the second pc normally looks good as that pc works ok in F30 it starts up windows black screen then goes to blue screen then reboots and starts again.

  I think something got into the BIOS I downloaded it from the support site, but it won't work. Nothing happens. I'm doing something wrong?
  It looks like you can only update the bios under Windows. I can't because I can't get in there, it says use F12 all I can use is F1

• Qosmio F30-117: A single HARD drive is recognized after upgrade to 120 GB

  I have a Qosmio F30-117 with 2 x 60 GB Toshiba hard drives installed. I want to switch to 2 x 120 GB HARD drive, but my Slot 1 does not recognize the HARD drive as being present. Slot 2 recognizes that a 120 GB HARD drive is present.

  This happens with two 120 GB hard drives installed in the two slots and when inverted as well. I don't use RAID so no mirroring happens.

  Any clues out there?

  I think that it is will not be problem.
  Try putting 2 HARD drive and then install a sistem.
  Otherwise, you can not lose a sistem on old first HDD, if you have a problem.

  your machine has a RAID controller, so before installing windows, you must install the RAID controller before. This occurs after you´ve began installing XP. Then a message on the bottom of the screen will appear that tells you that you must press F6 if you install HARD drive controllers (or something that way).
  You need to install the RAID driver from a USB floppy drive, which can be downloaded here:

  After you have installed the driver for your drive HARD will be displayed, and you would be able to install XP.

  I have a Qosmio F30-112.
  I tried to install the Windows XP Professional instead of the Media Center edition.
  However, during the execution of the installer, my laptop does not recognize the hard drive. Therefore, the installation cannot continue.

  I thought it might be a problem of corruption with my laptop and reinstalled Media Center Edition successfully.
  But when I try to install XP Professional it always gives me the same error.

  The fact is that your notebook has a SATA controller and you need a SATA (Intel Matrix Storage Manager) driver.

• When I deleted a picture of my MacBook, why it also remove the external hard drive?

  So I tried to help my wife to free up space on his MacBook Pro by putting all of his photos on an external hard drive.   How to use an SSD with your HARD drive If you want to use an SSD as boot with your existing HARD disk drive, as the disk 'data', here is what you can do. After installing the SSD, you need to partition and format the SSD using disc utility disc. Then install OS X on the SSD. Once installed OSX boot from SSD. Startup disk preferences to set up the SSD as the boot volume. Open the preferences users and groups. Click the lock and authenticate you. Or CTRL - RIGHT click on your username account list in the sidebar and select Advanced Options in the context menu. You will see a field called "Home dir: ' on the far right, you will see an Edit button. Click on it. In the file dialog box, navigate to the location in house now located on the HARD disk (disk HARD/users/user_name /.) Select the folder, click the Open button. Restart the computer, as shown. When the computer starts, it will now use the home located on the HARD drive folder. Another more technical method involving the Terminal and the alias is discussed in depth here: using OS X with a SSD and HDD - Matt Gemmell configuration. It's my preferred approach because I can choose which records of the House, I want to on the HARD drive and I don't want to. For example, I like to keep Documents and library files on the SSD because I frequently access their content.   Had a similar problem with external hard drive WD also on model MBA early 2015. Found if I disconnect the external hard drive restart MBA and then reconnect the external hard drive it was working normally again.

  Another thing I tried was still unplug HD plugin MBA on sector and re - a SMC.

  I have a Mac Mini 2011 with two 500 GB hard drives.  I have apps and General things about hard drive #1 and #2 only has pictures and videos.  Will be Time Machine backs up both drives to my external hard drive as one or two separate back ups?  I see files of backup HD #1, but not sure if the HD #2 files are also there.  I can't find an answer in the support documents.  Ideas?
