hard drive HP g56 compatibility?

Hi people,

I'm having a few difficulties to replace my hard drive (I'm not sure of compatible replacement) and would be very happy if someone could point me in the right direction.

My computer is a HP G56 notebook PC, serial number: CNF04182RX product number: XP267EA #ABU.

The previous record was a model of Toshiba MK5065GSX (500 GB, 5400 rpm) which is all but dead. I bought and later had to return, a new hard drive Toshiba, model MQ01ABD050 (with what seems to be the same features as the previous) but recognizes my phone. I got the error message 'no bootable disk '.

Does anyone know of any compatible hard drives for my laptop please? I can't find the Toshiba MK5065GSX I used previously. I have spent hours trawling the Web and can't seem to find an answer.

    Hello

I intend to buy the secondary Bay adapter for my Lenovo Thinkpad T530.

What would be the most important I should consider before ordering the adapter and HARD drive?

The Ultrabay adapter comes in two 12.7 mm and 9.5 mm thickness. Your T530 uses the 12.7 mm. You can save money by buying an adapter clone on eBay.

Here is a video of a manufacturer of clone cards which shows how to install the HARD drive on the adaoter and the adapter in and out the ThinkPad:

  • A Portable hard drive operating system compatibility

I bought a Seagate Expansion Portable hard 3 TB drive and want to transfer the files on my old PC (which uses the operating system WIN XP) on my new PC (which uses the operating system WIN 7). When I connect the camera on my old PC, it is not displayed in "My Computer", but it can be seen under "sensor external hard drive... I followed the suggestion of Seagate to reformat the device in the MBR format but persists above. Is there a way I can connect to my old PC so that I can transfer the data via portable hard drive? Or is there a driver I can install to fix the problem?

Did you leave the 1 partition of 3 TB drive?  XP cannot 'see' as large partitions. It can 'see' up to 4 GB.  I would create a second partition 25% larger than the data on the XP machine by reducing the current partition and creating a new.

The best way to proceed is to use EaseUS partition magic (free)

  • Pavilion DV6449 hard drive for laptop compatibility

I have a HP Pavilion DV6000 (p/n: GA456UA #ABA, serial number DV6449us) for portable computer without a hard drive. I happened to have a Toshiba 500 GB SATA 5400 tr/MIN used available hard drive and I would like to know if the HARD disc is compatible with your laptop. I asked computer two shops and the other says that the laptop has been limited by the BIOS with a maximum of 200 GB hard drive; However, other store said that the laptop can take a larger size of the HARD drive.  Could someone clarify this for me?

If the drive is compatible, I would also like to know what are the procedures would get Notepad running after the installation of the HARD disk, and if I need to update the BIOS? Should I format the HARD drive? When should I install the OS?

In addition, I don't have a HP re - install the disk to reinstall the operating system. Can I use my another PC temporarily reinstall drive (Vista Home Premium 32 - bit) to test if the laptop works properly before purchasing a license of the OS? I'll be very grateful if anyone can list what steps I must take to lift the laptop up and running.

    Paul:

    We have done it.

I Redid the iso via USB and this time it worked on the first try. I got the installed vista32. And I'm updating service pack now.

Thank you very much for your patient and your advice.

I just create the recovery media under the thinkvantage set, 2 disc set for XP or 3 disks for Vista.

Then came out the old hdd of 80 GB and plugged the new drive bought from a computer store and reinstalled the recovery partition and BONES (completed in a single step, just follow on the line of the screen), and 40 minutes later, everything is done.

No firmware flashing is necessary, straight plug-and-play.

  • Satellite A300-1EG - hard drive carrier

    Hello.

    I have this laptop--> http://www.toshiba.eu/discontinued-products/satellite-a300-1eg/

I would buy the new hard drive, specifically this one--> http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/937740-REG/seagate_st1000lm014_hybrid_1tb_2_5_sata.html

My question is, will it work? Laptop is old enough, I don't know if it supports this capability and/or additional 8 GB SSD.

Satellite A300 is old but very good machine. I got it a few years ago. In general there is no list some specific with all hard drives supported and compatibility information can give you just someone who has the same machine and use it with an identical hard drive.

In my opinion, you can upgrade your machine with this drive and I'm pretty sure that in combination with Windows 7 it works perfectly.

I don't know what is most important to you: spatial ability or portable s performance, but if your laptop supports the option with two hard drives, I recommend to buy SSD and use it as a hard drive main and old original HD, you can use it as a second drive (if possible) and, of course, for the storage of data only.

I have this hardware configuration on my Satellite P500.

  • Satellite C660 - compatibility between motherboard and hard drive internal

Hi, I have a problem with the compatibility between the internal (1 terabyte) hard drive and installing windows 7 pro.
I broke my old internal hard drive (320 GB) and I bought the new hd (1 tb), but during the installation it says that w7 cannot be installed on this new hard drive.

Can my pc motherboard (serial number: 3B071014k) support the new hard drive (serial number: wd10jpvx)?
and if the answer is 'yes', how can I make it work?

First of all the question has nothing to do with the motherboard and HARD drive compatibility.
If the HARD drive is visible in the BIOS (first page), the HARD drive is supported by the BIOS and HARD disk controller.
In the case where the drive HARD isn't recognized, you will need to replace this HARD drive with another. I guess the smaller size of the 2.5 SATA HDD THAT would be taken in charge (500 GB)

However, in case the HARD disk is visible in the BIOS, you should be able to install Windows 7.
Before starting the installation, you must format the HARD drive and should create the system partition.
For this procedure, I recommend to use some tools such as partitions for example: GParted
GParted is a freeware Linux tool.
You can create a bootable USB key in order to start the device using GParted:
    http://gparted.sourceforge.NET/LiveCD.php

Then, you should be able to format the HARD disk and create partitions.

  • Satellite A205-S4777: are there problems of compatibility of the 320 HARD drive

I am replacing my sata toshiba with a sata western digital with more memory than he.
Can someone tell me if there are known compatibility problems.

Toshiba 200 GB Sata Drive broke down and I am substituting a western digital 320 GB SATA

I see that you have already improved HARD drive and 320 GB. So you could tell us if you've some HARD drive problems.
BIOS recognizes the new HARD drive correctly?

If you have already installed the new HARD drive and have been able to install the operating system, then I put t see serious reasons why new HARD drive shouldn't t work.

  • Pavilion dv6600ev: I would like to replace the HARD drive and the RAM in my HP laptop. I want to check compatibility

Hello guys. I would like to replace the HARD drive and the RAM in my HP laptop. I would check the compatibility. For the momemt, I have 2 x 512 MB of RAM and a 160 GB HARD drive. Does anyone know the type of RAM (DDR1 or DDR2 most) and the accepted maximum capacity. Also the SATA port is a SATA I? Besides, I'm going to change the operating system (preferably in Win 7) so is there a driver?

You can install DDR2-800 modules and they are the most widely available at this point, but the memory will run at 667 mhz speed.

  • HP G56 Notebook: Replacement hard drive on a laptop G56

The hard drive on my G56 died. "No HDD found", said currently, a 500 GB Sata 2. Can I put a 1 disc? There are a lot online that claim to work with this laptop. They are not formatted, and I know I have to buy windows again, but will I need to install the HP software also? In the affirmative. where can I find it?

    Thank you Gary

You can put in a 1 TB drive. I recommend a model at 7200 RPM, something like this:

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16822145875

Actually, you do not need to buy Windows again. Your laptop has an OEM license. Can you still read the key Code label inside the battery bay or at the bottom of the laptop?

HP system software or drivers and utilities can be downloaded from this page. You may have the original recovery disks that the laptop has asked you to do when you first pulled it upward? If this is not the case, these discs can be ordered from HP, for much less than new windows.

Please respond so we can provide additional assistance. Do you need directions or a video to replace the hard drive?

    Hi blacksmith60,

No, there is no problem with compatibility. But, you may notice a slight change in speed and performance.

  • Compatibility hard drive in an HP Pavilion laptop

    I have a

    HP Pavilion dv6 notebook

    (Product no. LT070AV)

    running

    Windows 7 Professional

    with a

    Samsung HM640JJ

hard drive that begins to fail (it doesn't have the test car).

Because I am concerned about the reliability of the Samsung, I would replace it with a

    Western Digital Scorpio Black WD7500BPKT.

This would be likely to cause compatibility issues?

As far as I know, the WD drive is Samsung. Both drives have the 2 ½ in. form factor and a height of 9.5 mm, SATA 3 Gb/s interface and a rotation speed of 7200 RPM. Photos on the Internet, it seems that the cable connectors and the screw holes are similar, and I think these are probably standardized. The Samsung is the WD 750 GB and 640 GB. The biggest difference I can find is that the Samsung has sectors of 512 bytes and the WD 4 K sectors, but based on what I read this should not be a problem because I am running Windows 7 and 4 K sector drives imitate readers of sector of 512 bytes for backward compatibility.

Thanks to all who can help you with this issue of compatibility.

  • HP Pavilion 9700 series - Hard Drive Compatibility

    Hello

I have a laptop HP Pavilion 9700 (dv9827cl) which has stopped working. I hit the power button and it turns off within 2 seconds.

This has happened before and I had to fix. He has worked almost a year and kaput.

I want to buy an another laptop HP Pavilion 9700 on eBay. Those without a hard disk, the boot up to bios, range from $200 or less. The hard drive in my old laptop works in any series HP Pavilion 9700? If this isn't an idea where I could find information about compatibility?

    Thank you!

As long as it is the same family of i.e. AMD or Intel processor, you will be OK. You may need to load a driver or two, but the hard drive of an AMD dv9700 will start in any other dv9700 AMD. It is not quite as sensitive as suggested above, but otherwise, the story would be that if you tried to put it in an Intel system or even a more recent or more old AMD system the essential thing which must be the same is the main chipset on the motherboard.

For completeness I want to clarify that in doing so technically violates the Microsoft EULA. Your OEM for Windows license is specific to the machine, with which it was delivered.
