You probably don't need to switch discs.  Instead, just move "My Documents" on the blank disk.

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310147
http://thundercloud.NET/information-Avenue/my-documents/

There may be other files, you can pass the other drive, but do not move installed applications.  If you want to move an application, the best way to do is to uninstall it using Control Panel > add or remove programs and then reinstall it from the original installation media.  Most of the applications installed by default in C:\Program Files, but most of them also gives you an option during Setup to put the files somewhere else.

Download JDiskReport (you can install it on your blank disc if there is not enough space on your primary drive).  Let it scan your disk and you can see what is too much space.
JDiskReport requires Java 5 or later.  Make sure you have Java installed * before * you install JDiskReport.   You can download Java from www.java.com.

If you really want to change hard drives, you will need disk cloning software.  You will also need to physically change the drive connections.

This problem showed about 2 months ago the system started running slowly and after a bit of research, I went to computer and found he showed that the HARD drive was full of 98%. Then I went and disabled the feature of shadow copy that reached about 3 Gig. After that, the performance was still hurt, so I decided to do a system restore. All reformatted once was good again until a week ago, and the same problem came back once again.

    Thanks in advance.

    Craig.

Hardware failure is very likely, since you are clearly able to access your hard disk without problem.
Looks like you are using software that could be gradually fill the hard drive with data, such as a log file, it is difficult to say.
With the erosion of the space, you might want to periodically check each folder in drive C (right click, properties) and see how it changes for each new session.

Also clean the temporary files would help such as for:

    Hello

Yes, you can move the data files on an external hard drive. You can also add a new disk

If you want to move a program installed, not just the data, you must uninstall

I thought that once the Vista was full disk of data take longer, but no.

    Advice please.

    Hello.

    You can do this:

    1. disk cleanup
2 turn off the system restore
    3. create a new hard driver small, extracted from your data disc, for swap space. Leave the C drive for the new driver swap space. If you have 2 GB of memory, you can find, it is useful to create a hard drive to third with 4 GB of swap space, or windows will use the drive space it.
4 format your hard drive and perform a new installation. You don't like it I guess :)

    Good luck.

    • System Restore and shadow copies. Guests delete you all but the most recent restore point on the disc.

  • Hard Drive C full disk cleanup does not

My hard drive C has been fine for a long time.  Then all of a sudden in a period of about a year he started fill by itself.  I would deal with the problem with the disk cleaning and remove programs and files is no longer needed, but every time I did that it would end up a bit more than before (it would mean 40%, then fill up to 65%, then disk clean he would stay to 45% full).

Now, I have 110 MB of space on a 30 GB C drive, and I've done everything I can.  I ran thousands of times drive cleanup, I have eliminated all the programs that I don't use, and I transferred all my music and movies on my D drive (which is fine).
I ran several scans, but there seems to be no worm.  I can't do system restore because I did a restore a year ago.
Is there something I can do, or is editing and re - install Vista my only option?

    Dear all,

IM relatively new to Adobe first Pro 2.0 and seeks advice.

Im doing 20 minutes DVD on a recent tour of rugby Union, my system is very powerful, no problem.

However, I started to make the DVD and my hard drive had 180GB left, Ive exported a couple of times and made the images a few times too. (i.e. pressing on enter). However, every time there are about 30 GB of space, for rendering. It displays even my hard drive slowly evaporate.

I wouldn't mind if I could find the images and delete so I can free up my hard drive to the top. But they're all gone. I can not find them and if I do another report, it starts from frame 1 of 24350 and uses another 30 GB. I have 50 GB of left!

The problem youre having is basically saying: "get another hard drive"... and put your projects and your property on this hard drive... not on your startup that is full of pork disk.

Other problems re: scratch the disk and swap file which would also treat you re: your hard drive space... as although a few other things (disable disk "Indexing" for example), it becomes a bit complicated insofar as you have to do some reading on what to do and how to do and note taking and so on...

In your preferences, you will see where your cache files are and stuff like that...

I know that's not very good news to hear, but you really need to get another drive, a good fast... (ideally get 2 more!)

rendering files help you change things faster and easier to see on your project controller. This is why it is done. He also sometimes "uses," those who make files for some 'effects' and things... in the export.  Like, if you do a clip to go back there "will make" clip backwards and use it in the export.

So it's not a good idea to remove your render files to free up space, like it's just get made even foul later or just your project.

    PS... Good luck!

    Hello

The free space on my hard drive stop less and less even if I do not want to install anything on it. In fact I deleted the files and folders to try to increase the free space on the hard drive, but free space still less and less stops. I searched through the filesa and folders, etc, and there seems to be about 80 GB which is used by the hard drive that I can't find anywhere. I ran the software anti-virus and anti-spyware software that I also have a firewall running. However, the hard disc to stop continually complete with what I don't know. Any ideas?

    Following your advice, I installed:

    WinDirStat - free

This allowed me to find all the files on my computer and better still highlighted the huge file that was causing the problem.

The file at the root of the problem is a log file more 126 GB in size. He was hiding there in a folder on my hard drive that Explorer windows normal not to find / identify. The logfile at the origin of the problem was "pyagcore" and it seems if installed on your computer when you install the kiwee toolbar internet explore.

I was able to delete the pyagcore file and then disabled and deleted the kiwee toolbar. Everything looks OK and I more 126 GB of hard disk space back.

Cheers and thanks a lot for your kind cooperation.

I try to help someone who has a Mac running Windows 7 64 bit Pro using VMware Fusion 5.0.3.  They have a hard disk of 1 TB but now only 725 MB of free space!

I checked the settings of VMware and they had AutoProtect Snapshots on 1 dollar a day, and set "maximum number of snapshots to keep: ' 3.

When you view the instant history, it shows that there are 51 snapshots with the first (oldest) being 55.4 GB, GB 8.7 second and third 958,3 MB.  There is also a second tree that has only one sheet about 20 shots later.

What is the best way to remove these pictures I saw barley have any storage space.

I also don't mind not completely destroy all snapshots and new.

    Thanks in advance!

haachee wrote: I'm not afraid also completely destroy all snapshots and new.

What do you mean exactly by that?

What is the best way to remove these pictures I saw barley have any storage space.

With this little space it is really not that you can do with this package of Virtual Machine on this disk is almost full for correctly * clean. * Properly, i.e. delete snapshots via the Snapshot Manager.  You must either release the right amount of space needed to accomplish the task or temporarily move the package of Virtual Machine to another disk that has the amount of space needed for the appropriate task.

There are other options, but I guess that when you answer the question I asked can I give more details.

BTW DO NOT try a whole instant deletion via the snapshot to manage with so littk of free space on the disk of the host that you will break it doing!

Also, please try the following links to clear up space on the c: drive.  As temporary internet files, the windows system restore points, etc. These spaces as time will pass.  Restore points can take a lot of space as windows create more restore points.  Prior to links, always good to backup data and files first.
