Hard Drive Setup for the source files, media Cache, project, Render, etc...

I am working to put in place the following readers:

C: SSD for the OS and programs

D: RAID 0 (three SATA II F3) for projects from first, where I did too, and still

E: RAID 0 (two SATA III WD black Caviar) for the source files, hiding from media and preview the files (if I can get the controllers/SATA III RAID Marvel that is)

External HD USB 3.0 for backup projects

Should I make this different?

Anyone think it would be better to use the SDD discs instead of hard drives? I have

Please confirm that it is correct:

C: SSD for:

  • Operating system and programs
  • No pagefile

D: RAID 0 (three SATA II F3) for:

  • No pagefile
  • First project
  • Source files of project first (suggestion by evil)
  • Project yet

E: RAID 0 (two SATA III WD black Caviar) for:

  • Swap file (install first, 12 GB since I have 24GO RAM)
  • Media cache
  • Preview files
  • Rendering of the project (e.g., DVD MPEG2, H.264, etc.) / source files of project yet

Fix.

When I finish my PR projects, I use DVD - HQ Bitrate & GOP calculator to determine the parameters of flow and export to DVD MPEG2 or H.264 - BR according to my delivery format, but also because I always export sound instead of AC3 5.1 2.0. I only make my chapter points in Encore and not worth trying it in the PR, due to the limitations of long GOP. Again these same limitations, but I prefer to do it in yet, because then I can easily adapt and make the poster frames for my taste.

In my workflow, so I have my source media and the project on the D drive and export the MPEG2-DVD, or H.264 - BR in drive E. open the project again from my D drive, and then import the assets on my E drive.

Reminder I export the image file and then use Nero to make multiple copies, because with Nero I can use multiple burners, creating 50 copies goes two times faster with two burners or even 4 times faster with four burners.

You shouldn't really need to create a temporary directory - especially for the Brother printer drivers.  You can download it at any place that you can easily find (like the office).  Then double-click it to run it (run) on it and let it install.

    I realize has their instructions (probably the ones found here<-- that="" is="" a="" link)="" say="" to="" download="" the="" file="" to="" a="" temporary="" directory="" -="" but="" i="" just="" downloaded="" the="" file="" you="" need="" (mfc-240c-inst-win7-a2.exe)="" and="" double-clicked="" on="" it="" and="" it="" doesn't="" have="" to="" be="" anywhere="" special. ="" it="" will="" 'extract'="" to="" the="" native="" temporary="" directories="" as="" needed="" (nothing="" to="" be="" concerned="" with)="" and="" then="" ask="" you="" to="" choose="" a="">

He then expand some additional files and then ask you to accept a license agreement (I suggest "Yes" If you want to go further):

In your case... choose 'Standard' and click Next and continue in this way until it is installed.  Then (once Setup is complete and closed) you can restart the computer (first and foremost) and then delete the original file you downloaded (MFC-240 c-inst-win7 - A2.EXE) on your desktop (or downloads, etc.)

    You should get through it.

  • How can I get the utility auditor of system files (SFC) in Windows XP to search for the source files on a CD in a CD/DVD EXTERNAL drive instead of the CD/DVD drive internal Windows?

I use a Dell Dimension E310 PC running Windows XP Media Center Edition.  The CD/DVD drive has stopped recognizing CD long ago.  (He still recognizes DVD but not CD).  I use an external drive to CD/DVD of Asus.  I keep getting messages that Windows need to replace versions unrecognized some Windows file and asks me to insert my source CD into the CD/DVD drive.  I checked the MS Knowledge Base and got instructions on how to use the utility (SFC) System File Checker to replace the unrecognized Windows files.  I started the process and inserted the source of CD files (recovery CD provided by Dell with the PC when I bought it) in the drive of external CD/DVD, but the SFC would not recognize it it.  He just kept asking me to insert the CD of source files in the CD/DVD drive.  So I have to find a way to get the SFC utility to find files in the external CD/DVD drive source - or I have to take the PC to the Geek Squad, buy a new CD/DVD drive and get them to install it.  Would appreciate any help you can provide.

  • Portege M300: Is the protection of HARD drive only for the brand of Toshiba drives?

    Hello

I am trying to upgrade my Portege M300 with a hard drive bigger, as seen on the Portege forum, I posted the thread after that two hard drives from samsung does not similarly, shortly after the installation of the new.

I just want to know if the protection of Toshiba HARD drive utility is simply made for Toshiba hdd or if it can work on any other brands of hard drives of brand. As I say, I want to upgrade a 60 GB to 160 GB and 2 new hard drive failed. I've since updated my bios to the latest version and I also consider not to install this hard drive protection feature, just in case where it will cause problems once more with my 3rd HDD replacement of same nature.

I appreciate any thoughts on this.
    Thank you very much

    Hello

Usually it s any manufacturer is.
If the HARD disk supports the CHIP so it should be possible to use this HARD drive.
The HARD disk protection tool verifies the parameters of the HARD disk.
But the settings are configured by HDD manufacture then it might be possible that the HARD disk will not work if the tool would not choose the settings correctly.

  • Hard drive stuck in the RAW file system.

So I had a problem with my slave drive being stuck in the RAW file system when I formatted my master drive. So I disconnected the slave drive and formatted the master once again and once all updates have been installed, I plugged the slave back in. He's still stuck in RAW format. I tried to use Norton Partition Magic, and he reads a BAD. Is it possible to change the same RAW to NTFS or FAT32 file system?

The indication that the file system is RAW usually means that there is a corruption of the file system structures. How to go on recovery depends on the value you are asking about the data on the disk. If your budget of time or money is over and the data of low value or backed up.

Go to start all programs accessories and click on the command line. When the window opens, type

    cmd
CHKDSK D: /f /r Note: D: is the letter of the drive to check. Replace the appropriate letter.

When the process is finished, type
    Output

Go to my computer to see if it was repaired enough to at least get a list of directories.

If no joy, go to the web site of the manufacturer of the disk. Looking for a utility to check the disk and make a low-level format ". Follow their instructions. After that, do a format to NTFS.

If this fails, it is likely that the disc will need to be replaced.

Remember, there are tools (the disk sector editors, etc.) that you can use to read and sometimes at least recover some data. It requires appropriate knowledge and considerable patience. Alternatively, there are services - quite expensive data recovery.

  • Network with Windows Home Server hard drive. With the new files that wouldn't be no automatic update.

Installed Windows Home Server 2011 on my files allocatted to share on my wireless network, including a hard drive 2 TB external. Worked well able to watch movies, listen to music etc... As several files have been saved on the external hard drive (800G now) he would not recognize the new content (files or movies) previous content is ok, but nothing new would not reconise. Unplug the hard drive from the PC, pluged into the TV via USB and all the files are there, old and new. Hello

I installed the dashboard of media today, but there is a problem. The first time that an SD card is inserted in the jury he identified OK. After the withdrawal of the security, it is not identified more and cannot be opened. I need to restart the PC (Windows 7 64-bit) to open a card again. What is the solution to this problem? The seller has no drivers and said Windows 7 should identify the device.

    Hi Alexander,.

If this is the scenario then, try the steps to uninstall the USB Device Manager, uninstall the drivers of device from the list of programs, and then download the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website.

    Step 1:

Uninstall the device from Device Manager

    • Press the Windows key + R to open Run box.
    • Type devmgmt.msc in the run to open Device Manager.
    • Expand the USB section.
    • Find the USB device.
    • Click with the right button on USB and select Uninstall.
    • Select the check box delete the driver for this device.
    • Restart the computer after the uninstall is complete.

    Step 2:

Uninstall the drivers of device from the list of programs in the control panel

    • Click Start, select Control Panel
    • Now, click on programs and select programs and features.
    • Find the USB.
    • Right-click USB driver and select Uninstall.
    • Restart the computer after the uninstall is complete.

    Step 3:

Download and install the latest drivers for the USB on the manufacturer's Web site

  • The analysis of file for the source files

    Hello

I need to analyze the specified source file to extract all files and processing them in the order (launch a script on the file). I have a feeling it's possible via Jython or Shell scripts (Source file is located on the Unix machine). But as I have never Jython, I wish I had some advice how it can be done.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Shamil,

Let's get this straight: you call a scenario for each file in a folder, right?
I believe that the best way to solve that is the case:
    (1) you must load the list of files in a directory (dir or ls, as the operating system) in a temporary table. In this case, you run the command output to a text file (dir / b > test.txt) and then load that file into the temporary table.
    (2) once you create an ODI procedure would then name the source that you select a file in the temporary table and the target, you call the script, the name of the parameter file.
    (3) in the Datastore ResourceName put the variable that will receive the name of the file.

    I hope I helped

  • Can G - sensor on hard drive - I do the external HD?

Hello, I'm going to add a hard drive SSD for the NB200 and I was wondering what the G-sensor added to the size of the hard drive that comes as standard? I would like to take advantage of the internal standard as an external hard drive in an external enclosure via USB.

    Thanks for the info

My friend has a NB200 and I upgraded the HARD drive in it, and I think that the G-Sensor is not part of HARD drive and not added on the HARD drive. Its a component on the motherboard, so you can remove it from the system.

  • Hard drive to expand the C partition

    Hello

How to expand the C partition on the hard drive. For the C partition option is grayed out in Disk Management extend it.

    Dell Inspiron 1564, Windows 7.

    Photo of attached disk management.

For some reason I didn't your answers on your other thread.

You can only expand in the unpartitioned space on the right of the partition that you extend. You deleted the D: drive, but the space is not the unpartitioned space. Because you can have a maximum of 4 partitions on an MBR disk, the last of them is typically created as an extended Partition, that allows you to create additional logical drives inside. It is a goofy configuration if this is how he got from Dell. You must also delete F:, then delete the Extended Partition. Then you can extend C: you have unpartitioned space where was the Extended Partition.

Method 2: Run the tool (SFC.exe) System File Checker, try to copy the files and check.

Follow the form of measures the following link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833
Method 3: Run the check disk then try to copy the files and check.
Note: If bad sectors are found in the hard drive then it could try to fix this particular sector. If you have any data on that, it can get lost.

  • Replace the failed HARD drive in Inspiron 1545 without recovery media

My COMPUTER illiterate brother gave me his Dell Inspiron 1545 [Amin Note: Service Tag published by policy TOU] set after he dropped it on the floor.  I used a cart of Sata USB drive to copy successfully most of his records off the coast to another PC (some were corrupt), but I do not know how to go on installing the OS, etc. on the new HARD drive, I bought (a 120 GB Samsung SSD Series 840).

Dell Diagnostics (F12 at startup) gives me several errors of HARD drive for the Western Digital HDD (WD-WX70A8983788) 320, for example:

Error code 2000-0146 test short DST. The reader also failed to conduct confidence test correctly eg 0F00:1348 error Code. Msg:disk block 66381323: Drive aborted the command, update the firmware (even for block DISC 69322993). Read Test failed - error 0F00-0232 Code Msg DISK block 37006336: IRQ has not been defined at the time.

When you try to boot normally, Windows Vista complains that there are mistakes, tries to correct them and sometimes I can get it to boot on Windows Home screen how it freezes.

When I have already fixed a laptop, I had access to a recovery media / DVD and a key product of Windows OS, but this Dell does seem to be none of that - just a recovery partition on a hard drive now doubtful.

What are my options to install the new HARD drive and hand over its files on since I have no recovery media or a product key Windows OS?

    I must:

    (a) reduce the size of the partition on the dodgy HARD drive less than 120 GB and then clone the dodgy HDD on the new SSD, so try and difficulty of installing Windows using the Dell recovery tools? (He had used<120GB of="" the="" old="">

    (b) clone just the recovery Partitions, and then copy the relevant files on?

    (c) try to make a Vista DVD and somehow get the product key of Windows disable the suspicious HDD (it doesn't seem to be a Windows product key sticker on the laptop, the Toshiba & IBM unlike I had sitting next to me).

    (d) something else?

Thanks in advance for your help.  First thing I will once I have it get up and running is to create the recovery media that he did not!

Option one could be quite bad if the performance of the system was initially quite bad. It depends on what has been installed on the machine. I recommend a clean installation.

Follow my Guide from reinstalling Windows / a Clean Install of Windows Vista:

    http://philipyip.WordPress.com/Dell-community-forums/

This will guide you through the clean install using downloadable Digital River Media (Microsoft online partner). It will tell you where to download the installation files and how to do an aswell USB bootable as the rest of the installation.

For product activation, there are instructions on the use of the activation program to backup and restore (step 2 and 11 b). I saved product activation OEM Dell Dell Windows Vista to 7 reinstallation DVD. If you run a utility finder key on the old installation, you will get a corresponding product key. It is not would be in line with the key on your COA. The guide explains system locked preinstallation and activation more in detail. An alternative to the product activation is also possible; You can use the product key on the laptops COST 25-digit which must be placed under the battery in the Inspiron 1545 to protect it from deletion. This will require automated activation of phone to a Center (11th step) Microsoft product activation so I prefer activation backup and restore program.

I am from the United Kingdom and do not like the fact that the form of relocation brackets is for US customers only. The situation has worsened for Windows 8, Microsoft has not provided downloadable media. Please add your voice to this idea from IdeaStorm Windows 8 media IdeaStorm resettlement so that users in the United Kingdom or elsewhere outside the United States can get media to reinstall via an online application form or download link. Unfortunately IdeaStorm requires connection separate from the rest of the Dell Community.

This is a simple html file that refers to several local files and I have everything on a usb key (IE my F drive). The memory stick will be sent to several people and their USB can be another letter.

I found a solution to my problem. Found I could just specify
href = "MyFile.ext" and he will see when he's in the same directory as the html code containing the reference. " No need for extra slashes!
