Hardware performance counters are supported?

It seems same issues remained in the past, but I thought I'd try again anyway. VMWare Workstation is-support material of performance counters? In other words, I'd be able to write code that triggers an interrupt on a performance counter overflow and run properly in the guest OS? If VMware Workstation does not support this, is there another VMware product that makes?

I stumbled across a few validations dated around the net that seem to indicate that this feature is not available (see and below). However, because these are so old, it's quite possible the newer versions have since added support.

Thank you

No, the performance monitor counters are not virtualized in any VMware product.

  • Performance counters are missing in .blg files

    Dear all,

I installed the perfmon counter to collect the performance of my windows 2008 R2 server and I added the counter of our application to check its performance, but when I check the .blg file I see these application counters are missing. PerfMon counters for this has not saved.

Interestingly, I added my application 10 counters and out of which 3 are missing. Can anyone explain me about this.

    Thank you

  • Difference between vi3 and vc - sdk (visdk400) performance counters

I found two links when searching for the CPU performance counters:

    1. http://www.vmware.com/support/developer/vc-sdk/visdk400pubs/ReferenceGuide/cpu_counters.html

    2 http://pubs.vmware.com/vi3/sdk/ReferenceGuide/cpu.html

    http://www.VMware.com/support/developer/VC-SDK/visdk400pubs/ReferenceGuide/cpu_counters.html [http://pubs.vmware.com/vi3/sdk/ReferenceGuide/cpu.html: http://pubs.vmware.com/vi3/sdk/ReferenceGuide/cpu.html]

As I understand it, the first is for vSphere 4.0, ESX 4.0 and vCenter 4.0 and the second is for the previous version, when it was called VMWare Infrastructure 3. Is this good?

I don't think you understand how to navigate the API reference page, the counter of 'performance' information available in each of the versions of the API, depending on the version, you'll see different counters, be they new or obsolete. You can also tell by looking at the URL

    for example

    visdk25pubs = VI 2.5

    visdk400pubs = vSphere 4.0

    visdk41pubs = vSphere 4.1

The specific page that you are referring only lists the CPU performance counters, there is definitely more than that.

Here's the exact URL to all 3 API listing the performance counters:

    VI 2.5 - http://www.vmware.com/support/developer/vc-sdk/visdk25pubs/ReferenceGuide/vim.PerformanceManager.html

    vSphere 4.0 - http://www.vmware.com/support/developer/vc-sdk/visdk400pubs/ReferenceGuide/vim.PerformanceManager.html

    vSphere 4.1 - http://www.vmware.com/support/developer/vc-sdk/visdk41pubs/ApiReference/index.html

To access performance indicators (for example, I'll use vSphere 4.1) you will go through the following:

    1) go to this address - http://www.vmware.com/support/developer/vc-sdk/visdk41pubs/ApiReference/index.html

    2) click on managed object Types in the left pane

    3) click on the box in the middle that says "ServiceContent.

    4) scroll down and click on the link PerformanceManager

    (5) you should be taken to the page linked above with all perf counters performance

It really helps to understand the object model of VI/vSphere to cross, here's a great blog by VMware used on the object model - http://www.doublecloud.org/2010/02/object-model-of-vmware-vsphere-api-a-big-picture-in-2-minutes/

    Hope it makes sense

  • Equium A60-191: number of Modem - only an analog phone lines are supported

My Equium A60 has been turned on when lightning struck nearby and caused the power supply turn off and turn back on.

The OS is XP Home and my ISP is AOL. When I try to access the Net with DUN, I get the repeated error message:

"Connected phone line is not compatible with this modem. Only analog phone lines are supported. »

My desktop computer, which also uses AOL, always connects to the same phone line with no problems.

I restarted the A60 several times; changed and I tried the 2 phone connection cables - both work; the phone line works very well; I reinstalled the driver provided on this site; removed the tick from the box that says to wait for the telephone line; verified that the modem is working and on the Device Manager list. All this is in vain.

Convenience store suggests that COM 3 is not enabled. I don't see that com 3 listed in the device under Ports Manager.

I tried Google and ASK with the error message. There is not a lot of posts, and it seems that the Toshiba modem is actually an Agere. This fact seems to be the object of some of the complaints.

Finally, I uninstalled the driver/modem, AOL and another DUN connection. I restarted and went through the process of installing AOL and "new hardware". While the modem is on and allegedly working... I am still unable to connect to the Net. I reinstalled an additional 'pay as you go' ISP. When I try to dial a number on which it generates error 680. It does this even when the box is unchecked, to wait for a dial tone.

I would be very grateful if someone could help it. I'm out of ideas.

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

You are right, the modem supports the Modem Agere chip.
You won't find the COM3 in the Device Manager for the modem uses a non-real com port. It s virtual com port.

I think you should start the diagnostic tool test and check if the Modem has no malfunction.
Additional you must remove the connection in the region Select utility and after restarting again create a new.

I also found useful Microsoft article on troubleshooting network and dial-up connections.

  • Tecra M7: What types of SD cards are supported?

    Hello

I just tried a SD Transcend 150 x with 4 GB to read with my Tecra M7.
The card works find with my MDA and is formatted correctly. It also works well with a card reader.
My M7 said, it might be not formatted and wanted to format.

So my question which is: what types of SD cards are supported?

Thanks in advance and Shine On, Frank

    Hello

It seems that your laptop card reader would not be able to handle 4 GB SD cards.
Each computer laptop SD card reader supports a hardware limitation, and it seems that this card is not supported.
I m not 100% sure on taken supported card formats SD but the SD 256 MB card, 512 MB, 1024MB and 2048MB should work

A question: have you tried to use the Toshiba SD card format utility? This tool allows you to format a standard SD format SD memory card.

  • Making clips are supported through XML?

I am importing an XML of any other editor in a project that uses clips blocking. Both of us are on FCPX & using the same media.

I tried this, and it worked as expected. I chose a project containing a multicam, exported XML file clip, has created a new library, XML import, and she came back properly.

Both machines are running the same version of FCP X? What version of XML used (1.4 or 1.5 are supported in 10.2.3)?

  • Satellite A200-1N2 what HARD drive are supported?

    Hello

I have an A200-1N2, with the original 120GB hard drive.
I would like to upgraded to a larger capacity HARD internal disk.
Can you please me, whose internal hard disk capacities and types (only IDE?) are supported?

    Thank you very much!!
    Leor

    > Can you please tell me, what capacity internal hard drive and types (only IDE?) are supported?
First of all, for all IDE HDD is NOT supported, because the laptop supports the SATA HDD controller. Therefore, use of SATA 2.5 hard disks.

Given that the SATA controller is not limited to any size, you should be able to use any HARD drive 2.5 SATA.

  • Is that all models Tecra are supported on Windows 2003?

    Hello

Is all models Tecra are supported on Windows 2003?, if I buy a model Tecra with Vista business or XP Professional, is it possible to install os W3K on this laptop?

If so, please let me know the same thing, or is there an official link which will give one of these model dependencies?, thanks

    Concerning

    Swami

First: toshiba DOES not support any operating system server on their machines. You know the difference between a * LAPTOP * and a * SERVER *?

If you know where is the difference so you can answer yourself why toshiba gives no support in this sense.
The other point (to come to the technical part), is that you can probably install Windows Server 2003 on your computer. And you can search for drivers. But no one here could give you assistance, you´re completely on your on. (And NO, it has NO official connection :/)

    See you soon

Officially, only 128 GB or 256 m2 TLC (SATA, PCIe) readers are supported on HP ProBook 470 G3. However, Crucial says their M.2 MX200 500 GB TLC works fine on the same laptop. Would Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB m2 also work? It is also based at TLC.

  • How to call dll com APIs that range from the performance counters of less than 1 ms with CVI and always get less timer resolution of 1 ms

    Hello

I've created a dll com in VC ++ using performance counters/timers to less than a millisecond.

This is useful when you send a message to very high speed. (say 10 or more)

This is done by the dll.

When I use CVI to create a user interface, this dll runs at a fixed rate of 1ms.

    This slows down the application.

I tried to use the same dll with VC ++ host and it works well.

I need to check the registry setting to see if the useDefaultTimer is set to false or TRUE.

(I'm not near the development PC) However, by default, it should be FALSE and I have no fidle with it.

Veuileez post any suggestions you might have.

    Thank you!

This problem is now solved for me.

Just the highest thread priority in the dll.

Thank you if you had the answer.

  • What cloud services are supported by HP scan to the cloud?

Hi, I am interested in buying a range of printers HP ePrint enabled with the «Scan to Cloud» feature However, I can't find any information online about what cloud services are supported. I would particularly like to the printer to be able to direct scanning to Dropbox.

Also, can someone confirm that this is a stand-alone function of a printer compatible ePrint - for example a PC client or mobile device should not drive the feature "scan cloud"?

There are a few applications available that support scanning to cloud, the two I know are an application of google docs and box.net application. I have not seen all apps for available dropbox.

These are also completely made on the printer, the only thing than a PC or a mobile device is needed for is to make the account to www.eprintcenter.com and manage the account if necessary.

The alternative is scanning to email app available that can send scans to your email instead of this account, and you could then move them to your dropbox account.
