  Hello I am trying to install a slide scanner (2000) older.  The Kodak 3600 Film Scanner is discontinued, but the Kodak Professional services Web site, still has downloads for XP drivers.  I tried following this process, but it is not.  Would download installation/download XP Mode for Windows 7 help to solve my problem.

  If the device is supported on SCSI, the SCSI interface is not virtualized and XP mode does not support this.

  How the device connects to the computer?  Are you running 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7?

  This is my original post to the Group about what I discovered THAT SCSI regarding the basis devices and WIN 7 (x 86 and X 64); I had discovered already at this point that although these devices with appropriate SCSI cards and drivers, layer ASPI and device drivers and software would work without problems under Windows XP x 86, they wouldn not via virtual XP mode 32-bit Win 7 even if the devices were attached to and had installed in the host system WIN 7 drivers.  Regarding the virtual XP in WINDOWS 7 mode, it would be nice if we could install Win XP 32-bit SCSI drivers, the layer ASPI, the peripehral software and drivers on 32-bit XP virtual machine and have a material link to the device through its connection to the motherboard and BIOS in Windows 7 to allow the seemless uses the bit 32 SCSI device that works on an XP operating system to address real so as to allow to via copy and paste transfer operations out of the device to programs under the Win 7 OS.  This is particularly useful with regard to the flat scanners and film-editing many of the old yet functional models of SCSI-based devices, and still in use by users to capture and digitize documents and old photographs or films for the purpose of editing and adding image programs that are used under Win 7 - especially Win 7 X 64 so that the user can make use more 3 GB of RAM when processing large files.  Force users to keep and maintain a separate dedicated machince XP OS cannot be supported in order to be able to use devices that are based SCSI and is no longer be produced or marketed by USB or Firewire version...

  Your entire development is off? You may be able to disconnect and reconnect. You can check this thread for more suggestions:

  To go more than you would have to decide if the portability was an important issue, because additional disks should probably be external. The Mac can support dozens of external hard drives. If you do not carry them, 'office' readers are faster and can be found in larger sizes. Their PIN 12-volt Motors require a lot more power that can be provided using Bus power, while they use their own power supplies.

• I have a printer/scanner HP Photosmart 6510 who will now analyze.

  I have a Vista Ulitimate operating system.  The system is connected wireless.  Printer works fine.  Scanner worked but not now.  I get an error message when I try to scan "HP 6510 found" have checked the Device Manager and the device appears.  I've updated the drivers all to nothing does not.

  No changes were made to the computer.

  Follow the steps below to uninstall and reinstall the printer.

  1. open Control Panel

  2. click on uninstall a program

  3 uninstall the Photosmart 6510 in the list

  4 restart your computer

  5. download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

  I have a F2180 Desk jet all-in-one printer and scanner, and it prints but don't scanns. I ve tried using the installation cD, but it gets stuck and has information that sistem doenst have ways to fit to do. This type of printers allways gave me problems. Now, I can't use the CD yet. I NEED TO USE THE SCANNER for MY master'S DEGREE WORK... and its been nerve breaking. I'll also tried to change something in my sistem but it's the same thing. CAN YOU HELP ME PLEASE?

• First Film Scanner does not start "code 10".

  I used this film storyboarding exclusively scanner on an iMac up to now. Bought a newer iMac with newest OS which was not supported by the hardware of the company. So I try to use it on a laptop Toshiba with Windows 7 that supports the driver company.  Here's what's happening. When you start the software upward, as on the Mac, I get a window asking to initialize scanner (light). When you close the error window a brief translucent image of the software window appears for a split second and then disappears. Machine starts, but unlike on the Mac, the power led does not light and I get an error window stating "Unable to communicate with the scanner". Contacted support to Film/Scan first, Ace and told him to use the Device Manager to change the driver property settings. Device Manager won't recognize hardware.  Is this a Windows problem as says the person of the first Film or a driver does not meet the standards of security of Windows? First Films support person indicating that windows uses their own drivers which interfere with the drivers supplied by the hardware manufacturer drivers.  They told me to go properties once the Device Manager discovered hardware and double-click it to update driver and ignore the security warning. But Device Manager still can not find the hardware. The software installs, and there is no warning on the security during the installation. What's new?

  If you can auto discontinuous batches in a single file depends on the printer driver. Check the printer manufacturer's documentation, or the forum.

  Microsoft may actually go to the store and buy every single package of software and hardware that is placed on the market, they rely on the manufacturer contacting them and submit, and they obviously did in the past if the XP & Vista logos are on their box.  Why they does not for Windows 7, I have no idea.

  I tried all USB ports-uninstalled every time when I get the? other devices -? USB mass storage.  Assistant can never find anything.  Tried to dwnld software from Sony for the sale of the unit.  Did not help. Replaced the stick once.  FRY it connected to their computer-no problem.

  What is happening with all USB devices or just the two? If nothing works in the USB ports, you can check if USB is enabled in the BIOS menu. While Windows is booting, you should see an option to enter the BIOS. Once there, make sure the USB option is set to enabled.

• My scanner from veho VFS-001 film after working perfectly for a few weeksrefused to accept on PC after leaving for a few weeks. VEHO believe he may have been touched by your software updates, particularly for the 3 pack.

  Scanner not accepted after initially working Ok and think have damaged the scanner software updates. When reported to VEHO that service pack 3 has been installed now they said that this could be the problem. would you agree?

  Thank you for your message.  You have the latest driver for your scanner from VEHO VFS-001 Film?  If this isn't the case, you might check with VEHO to get the latest drivers that may be compatible with Windows XP Service Pack 3.  If the Service Pack has indeed caused your scanner to stop working, you can click HERE to get instructions to remove Service Pack 3.  Please let us know if it did or did not help to solve your problem.
