Kodak RFS 3600 Film Scanner install on windows 7

Hello I am trying to install a slide scanner (2000) older.  The Kodak 3600 Film Scanner is discontinued, but the Kodak Professional services Web site, still has downloads for XP drivers.  I tried following this process, but it is not.  Would download installation/download XP Mode for Windows 7 help to solve my problem.

If the device is supported on SCSI, the SCSI interface is not virtualized and XP mode does not support this.

How the device connects to the computer?  Are you running 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7?

Here is some info of MVP MS on SCSI if you need.

This is my original post to the Group about what I discovered THAT SCSI regarding the basis devices and WIN 7 (x 86 and X 64); I had discovered already at this point that although these devices with appropriate SCSI cards and drivers, layer ASPI and device drivers and software would work without problems under Windows XP x 86, they wouldn not via virtual XP mode 32-bit Win 7 even if the devices were attached to and had installed in the host system WIN 7 drivers.  Regarding the virtual XP in WINDOWS 7 mode, it would be nice if we could install Win XP 32-bit SCSI drivers, the layer ASPI, the peripehral software and drivers on 32-bit XP virtual machine and have a material link to the device through its connection to the motherboard and BIOS in Windows 7 to allow the seemless uses the bit 32 SCSI device that works on an XP operating system to address real so as to allow to via copy and paste transfer operations out of the device to programs under the Win 7 OS.  This is particularly useful with regard to the flat scanners and film-editing many of the old yet functional models of SCSI-based devices, and still in use by users to capture and digitize documents and old photographs or films for the purpose of editing and adding image programs that are used under Win 7 - especially Win 7 X 64 so that the user can make use more 3 GB of RAM when processing large files.  Force users to keep and maintain a separate dedicated machince XP OS cannot be supported in order to be able to use devices that are based SCSI and is no longer be produced or marketed by USB or Firewire version...

  • Scanner install problems - Windows 7 (64-bit)

Recently upgraded to Windows 7 (64-bit) and everything was fine until I tried to replace my flat bed scanner and are now trying to get two scanners work. First scan was listed (as was the second on the compatibility Web site) Scanner Canon CanoScan LiDE200 USB. Went on Canon's site and downloaded the Win 7 scanner software and installed (after removing the previous version). Tried running the software and got a message "memory" and has been unable to act. Went to 'devices' and 'right click' the scanner and was able to scan using the windows software, so scan worked. Original printer took over and bought an Epson v30 scanner, same problem, installed new software (Epson Scan 3.04). Doulble click on the shortcut of Epson Scan, but nothing happens.
A scanner does not and I think it's the materials, but both makes me think it might be something else, please notify

If Irfanview doesn't mean that you are 'Twain' drivers are the problem.

I have a Windows XP roceedure that usually fixes this kind of problem, but have yet to try it on Windows 7. I posted it below in case you are interested, but go forward with caustion. Note that some of the steps/information I already posted, but I'll post the procedure in his entirerty.

    ---------------------

If you connected the printer multifunction/scanner to your PC and then
installed the printer drivers/software, the chances are very high
the printer can operate but function scanner will not.

Most scanners or printers of multi use require
that you install the software before connecting the scanner or printer/scanner.

    Step by step instructions:
    (1) unplug the MFP or scanner.
    (2) uninstall the printer/scanner software and two pilots to help
    the Add/Remove Programs option.
    (3) look/search folders associated with your printer/scanner model
contains "Twain" files, if the files still exist after uninstalling.
Delete these files and related files.

Note: In the list of files that is found you can ignore everything
    files listed in:
    C:\Windows
    C:\Windows\system32\...
    C:\Windows\ServicePackFiles\...

NOTE: In the C:\WINDOWS\twain_32 folder: you have
one or more files. The one of "do not delete" is called: wiatwain.ds
(wiatwain.ds is installed by Windows XP)
All files in this folder were likely created when you
installed the printer/scanner. Check each of the files 'Properties' and if has the
brand of your scanner (Epson, Canon, HP, etc.), identified as the
company/brand, these files can be deleted safely.

On my PC I have my scanner HP twain file located in:
    C:\Program Hewlett-Packard\Precisionscan Pro 3.1\TwainCtrl.ocx
There should be something similar on your PC, so in my case at least
I would like to uninstall the software of Scanner HP and if it ' file TwainCtrl.ocx
is still there after you have uninstalled the scanner software I would delete it.
I have also a second that the file named "Twain_32.dll" TWAIN located:
    C:\Program Files\Adaptec\Easy CD Creator 5\PhotoRelay

    (4) check the Device Manager and remove all the entries if necessary.
    (5) create a Restore Point
    (6) analysis the registry using the name of brand/make of the scanner as a keyword for
image search. (Remove all entries are, but make sure it's a connected scanner entry)
7-restart the PC and check once more the Device Manager.
It should not show any announces the printer/scanner.
    (8) now reinstall the software and two pilots.
    (9) shut down the PC.
    (10) the PC power turned off, connect the printer/scanner, then
    restart / Windows startup.

Note: Sometimes there might help you try a different USB port if you
    printer/scanner is a USB device.

An easy way to test your installation of the twain driver software work, s
is to use a graphical editor named IrfanView.
    http://www.IrfanView.com/

If you download, install and run this software,
located in the menu bar is an option named "file".
By selecting the 'File' option, you should find a
(near the bottom of the list) option for named:
'Select the TWAIN Source', click this option
and then a popup should display valid Twain sources
for scanner you. If you see your scanner from the list,
Select it, and then try to scan an object (picture).

By selecting the Twain Source in the file menu IrfanView should load
your scanner software and then scan.

If you choose the option "Copy Shop" also in the file menu you have the
possibility to bypass your scanner software and directly scan a photo in
IrfanView. Try the option "Copy Shop" and let me know what happens.
Note that "Copy Shop" list of your Photo editing/scanning scanner
software and hardware name (make and model) of your scanner when
you click on the button "Select Twain Source" of the photocopy shop.
You should choose the scanner hardware option.

For example, on my PC the software Photo retouching/scanner is named:
    «HP Precisionscan Pro 3.1 "»
The second entry "Twain list select the Source" Copy Shop is my scanner
brand / model that shows that:
    "WIA-HP Scanjet 5470 C 1.0"

So for me when you use Copy Shop, I select the second entry when
prompt to select the Twain Source.
I then check the 'Twain with the preview.
(I mark this option if the scanned image does not directly)
to the printer, but on the contrary is displayed in IrfanView).
Then I click on the button 'start' location has the lower part of the photocopy shop
    window to start the search.

  • Kodak esp3250 drivers do not install on Windows XP Professional 64-bit

    Hello

I just want to ask if it is possible to download drivers for my Kodak ESP 3250 printer. I heard that it is not compatible with Windows XP Professional 64-bit machines, but I think that it is not true.
    Thank you
    Zuga01

If you really have XP Pro x 64 (which is rare), you're right that current software/driver Kodak for its all-in-one printers (including the ESP 3250) will not work for your operating system.  See http://support.en.kodak.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/32108/selected/true

It is possible that Kodak may have an older version of its software that works.  See http://support.en.kodak.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/23858/related/1/selected/true

  • Install the Kodak ESP5250 printer software and install Windows updates

My father-in-law bought a Kodak ESP5250 printer last week, we tried to install the software without success. I was even in remote access with Kodak technology for 5 hours. There seems to be a problem with Windows Vista that will not allow the software to install. In addition, the automatic update of Windows has tried for more than a week to download and install updates of security on his computer, he has let stand for 24 hours and it will not install updates.
He runs a Dell 1545 with Windows Vista service pack 2 Dual Core T4200 CPU and 3.0 GB of RAM.
Can you help me solve these problems?

    Hi kcbell1953,

    Thank you for the information.

Did you follow the steps I have provided?

I suggest to follow the steps mentioned in the previous post and then try to install the printer software.

You can try the following steps to install the windows updates:

Step 1: Disconnect all external devices (printers, scanner, USB (universal serial bus) readers, etc...)  Except the keyboard and mouse and then start.

Step 2: Disable security software, follow the steps mentioned below

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

Note: Activate security software once everything is done.

Step 3: Put the computer in a clean boot

Follow step 1 in the link below,

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.

-Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
-Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
-Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
-Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.

  • Impossible to install 10 Windows on Bootcamp partition

    #1

Hello! I just tried to install Windows 10 on my Macbook with a 32 GB USB using Bootcamp. Everything was fine until I came to the part where I have to choose the partition where I want to install my Windows 10 and of course I chose the Bootcamp partition, but in fact I couldn't click on 'next' (I was so stupid and don't format it).
So I just format the Bootcamp partition and when I tried to click 'next' he just told me 'we could not create a new partition or locate an existing one. I went through google and searched all regarding this problem and there are a lot of guys having almost the same or exactly the same 'error' when trying to install 10 Windows on the Bootcamp partition, but nothing has really helped me. I deleted everything except my USB key and someone told me that I should only have 4 partitions or less.
He shows me the 4 partition but there are two partitions (3) and two partition (1).
    Is this a problem?

Thank you, Matthew, but I fear that we have still not solved the problem of Thunderbird.
Mistral is a TrueType font and was readily available in all editions of Thunderbird before the current version: 38.0.1.
Of course the technicians who designed this update have changed something in the program so that TrueType fonts are no longer available. I need to use the Mistral. Parameters of the italics and the other options available in Thunderbird 38.0.1 are not acceptable.

The question is "How can I access TrueType fonts in Thunderbird 38.0.1?

  • Question seeks to clean install 10 Windows on the drive of the merger. El Capitan.

Problem: try a clean install of Windows 10 via the Boot Camp Assistant on an iMac 27 inches (Late2013) with 10.11.4 installs hours (more than 8 hours) and then failed to install Boot Camp updates. Essentially installation take much long than normal and cannot install updates of the Apple software or create normally start Windows Boot Camp 10.

Background: After problems of slowing down after upgrading to 10.11.4 (with improved Bootcamp Windows 10) who had previously worked fine for 10 months, to the point of a start of OS X time, I decided to do a clean install of my iMac with Fusion 3 to disk.

As I was unable to remove the partition from Boot Camp through BCA because of his holding always at the same load, I used Internet recovery and reset the Fusion drive. This then required me to repair the partition of Fusion by car through THE "fix" option which seems to work very well. And reinstalled OS X 10.11.4 which works fine now (delays etc..)

Try using BCA to create a new partition Boot Camp and a clean Windows 10 install after downloading an image of disk W10 directly from Microsoft (Win10_1511_1_English_x64), BCA by downloading software updates and by selecting the desired partition, it began to restart and initialize the installation. However the whole process has been very slow, each step takes much longer than usual, to progress. Leave for hours rest a blank screen or with a circle of rotation.

I tried with another stick USB 3 and also a USB 2 stick, but none has made a difference.

In the last attempt, I left running overnight and after 8-9 hours, he finally reaches the top of desktop Windows 10 and the update of Apple Bootcamp starts to load updates. However, he just hung and even after 2 hours, nothing was. Reboot and try once again has been the same.

After that I tried to create a Windows Installer via BCA 8.0 however it gives just a TPG error when you try to select the drive (due to el Capitan I guess?)

After four days of efforts, I'm a loser on how to get the Windows 10 on the Boot Camp partition. I can't even install W8 and upgrade due to the error of TPG.

Any help or suggestions how to proceed with the diagnostic / resolution of the problem would be appreciated.

    System: iMac (27 inch, end of 2013), 3.4 GHz Intel Core i5, 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 M 4096 MB, OS X 10.11.4

    • Nothing other than the keyboard and mouse attached via the USB ports, as well as the key USB of BCA. No other attached devices.
    • Reset memory NVRAM, SMC and ran more than once disk utility. No problem not reported.  Ran NVRAM reset before each attempt.
    • At ran EtreCheck report which seemed OK.
    • Verification of diagnosis ran who is childless.

A detail I noticed after the merger by car there are now two Macintosh HD images when you use boot option. One previously. Are named "Macintosh HD" and "Macintosh HD2". I remember being Yosemite simultaneously in three, but which has been fixed in an update.

In addition, it seems that no recovery partition. Cmd + R lance Internet recovery.

    Summary:

Q1: Should it take 4 + hours to install Windows 10 via BCA?

Q2: Al must ultimately be so slow when initially W10 desktop?

Q3; What I do once I arrive at the office of W10 but it automatically updates the graphics driver as BC update is simply suspended for centuries and get a working driver to restart at least W10?

Q4: is there a problem with the disk HARD the Drive of Fusion that is causing all this delay and slow install / boot? ON the clean install OS X 10.11.4 it is back to be fast as usual and all tests show things are OK but W10 goes on the part of the HARD drive. No way to verify this beyond diagnosis or Etrecheck?

Q5: Y at - it no problem with the GPT / MBR that may be causing the delay etc. ?

Q6: How can I use my existing WindowsImageBackup backup from the previous W10 with the BCA install usb drive or how to create a USB stick otherwise recovery disk with my other single Mac have W7?

Q7: How can I install W8 as I once did on Yosemite, via el Capitan without a mistake to TPG on selection of disc?

    Details:

    Day 5. Attempt at 6.

Partition Boot Camp delete and try again install via BCA. First question, is that when the startup it goes to a blank black screen. For a time nothing left. Reset then using alt to select windows training results in almost instantaneous startup of the BCA message created and the beginning of the installation.

4 1/2 hours from start of Windows 10 initial signature window.

Then the second question. One to reach the Boot Camp update Office tries to start and install the drivers. Allows you to "list files...". "stage then sits at the bar about 5% green for 1 to 2 hours and does nothing. All actions in the Office of the W10 takes ages.

In the meantime, auto update of the W10 appears a message saying that the updated graphics drivers as one of the few messages or actions during this period. Looks like Nvidia install with the entire package of experience (unwanted) etc. and very probably not the correct gpu driver.

Finally deciding to cancel the installation of BC by killing the Setup.exe process. Then copy Boot camp install files on the desktop. Lasts 30 minutes to copy. Run again and this time, although taking 15-20 minutes to download and install later with the success message.

Check the graphic driver it shows a yellow exclamation mark, so the following Microsoft instructions I use the uninstall option via the device and then Manager (slowly) come on board to load and download the latest Nvidia driver on their site for the GTX 780 M for 64-bit W10 etc. The same thing that I had used previously. Slow with running the Nvidia Setup program again, but eventually it works only to say that he could not install as unrecognized graphics device...

He ends up with Microsoft PnP driver so it's at least sufficient start and run it again BC of the figure updates as all other drivers have been installed. To restart, but I get an error of K-Mode that is most likely related to this driver graphic and not possible to start in the new W10 Boot Camp partition after 7 hours.

I have a picture of W10 backup recovery (WindowsImageBackup) I've had in a few weeks, but it will not install bet for the installed W10. I try with the ACO created the USB windows but can't seem to get a way to get into recovery mode and to get the menu to install it. I don't have a way to create a USB W10 recovery key now because my other Mac has just installed W7.

Finally I tried to count a reset of the Recovery boot up option but it seems that it will take longer to start.

I also went to the recovery and selected Boot Mode safe, but it opens on an empty black window and he's here doing nothing.

Looks like I'll have to restart on via BCA and reinstall and try and solve the problem of graphics in order to install driver updates from BC and restart to W10 and hope that with the drivers, it returns to the operation and the normal starting time. Then update the gpu driver.

I used and installed Boot Camp several times with over the years including previously an upgrade of W8.1 > W10 I used for over 6 months without problem. I've never known these installation very long or ice once in Windows even for the initial start upward.

For any help or suggestion would be appreciated, and this seemingly simple process has now expanded to five days.

  • error message iTunes displays locked drive, itl locked files, or do not have administrative privileges on the PC after a clean install of Windows 10

Yesterday I did a clean install of Windows 10 on my PC with a backup of the hard disk external. I downloaded iTunes, but get an error message that the drive is locked, the .itl files are locked, or I don't have administrative rights to these files. I deleted and reinstalled the PCI DSS several times correctly in the PCI slot hoping that would be a solution, but to no avail. I am the only user on this computer and do not have administrative rights. Any help you can offer will be appreciated. Thank you
