  I wrote a script for you which allows you to modify the recalcitrant files yourself. Here's what you need to do:

  1. Mark, then copy the code below.
  2. Run notepad.exe.
  3. Paste the code into the Notepad screen.

  A normal 'substring' is what you're looking for.

  Hello. I would use four check boxes on a form, each of which will enable (check) if the data have been entered in four text fields of form on a different page in the same form.

  Example:

  Page 1 will have a question like... How many apples did you eat last month? "Text1" = 3

  So, given that the user has responded to 3 in the field 'text1', "checkbox1" must now be verified on page 2.

  ... and so on for the other three.

  Note: The answers to the questions will be like a number. If the user enters 0 (zero), then I don't want the boxes to activate it. So, any greater than zero response will check the checkbox.

  Follow-up to question...

  Is it possible for a text field quite different form whether visible or not visible (default read-only text) based on the status of each check box mentioned above?

  Example:

  "checkbox1" will have a field of text next to it named "date1" with a date hidden. If "checkbox1" is checked (because of the above), then the date will be visible.

  This can be controlled using the HTML tabindex attribute. See + {: identifier of the thread = 1246565} + for a previous discussion on this.

  Basically, tabindex should NOT be applied to the elements of the label . However, labels of the 'Necessary with help' type, help links should be accessible via the tab does not rely on the keyboard. In this case, I would say that the user will not and it makes sense that help link receive focus before the text element, so that aid on the issue can be viewed before entering a value. If they can be convinced, then set the tabindex property for items of text values and help links label sequenced so that items are available before the help links.

  What happens if you tried something like the following example? This works using formCalc on the change event for the user's domain is currently typing in:

  If you create the form using LiveCycle Designer then this script uses the wrong model. If you expect autotab to the field when the current field is full here is a way to do. You could trap the code that goes into a field as it is typed. You can test its length and if this is the length you are looking for then you can move the cursor... something like this:

  xfa.host.setFocus ("TextField2")

  How do I use Javascript to detect when one of these Signature fields is populated and fill in the date in the appropriate date field?  I tried to create Boolean variables initialized as false for each field of GIS.  Then when the signature is complete, I try to change it true, but for some reason any my javascript detect that the value does nothing.

  I searched the net endlessly for this solution.  I can't believe I'm having a difficult time finding an answer.  I mean how many places you go where they ask you to "sign and date here."  Each document signature base I've ever seen also requires a date.
