Have laptop HP 210-4150NR, Apple Cinema 2004 monitor, VGA to DVI, still non-functional.
Computer HP laptop 210-4150NR does not seem to run the monitor Apple Cinema 2004, with apparently correct adapter. Is this true?
I see these adapters all the time and I can never make sense out of them. VGA is an analog and DVI is a digital signal, they are not compatible.
Here's an example of what to, in this case, it only HDMI, but a converter for HDMI to DVI is also necessary for you Apple display, unless the monitor has an HDMI input.
The only real difference between HDMI and DVI is that the DVI signal only carries the video, this is a very basic explanation.

I currently own an iMac OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.4 27 inches (2 1/2 years) with Thunderbolt technology. I also have a screen of cinema with older technology. Previously, when the technology was the same for the Apple display and my previous iMac, I was able to color calibrate the Apple cinema and my iMac but it is no longer the case. I know that there is a way to color calibrate the monitor Cinema with old technology when the iMac has the Thunderbolt technology, but cannot remember what are the steps. The colors on the Apple Cinema are out of whack and too bright. Can anyone help? I'd appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you.
Henriette
PS: The color calibration device I own is a gretagmacbeth eye - one display2.
Hello henriettefromnovato,
Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.
I see you want to calibrate the color of your movie screen. You can calibrate your screen by following the steps in the link below.
OS X Yosemite: calibrate your screen
If you are unable to do so, then please be more specific about what happens when you try and calibrate.
Have a good.

Use the Apple Cinema Display Monitor on iMac 5K?
I think the upgrade from my old 'tour' Mac Pro to an iMac of 5K. It still basically works, but seems inexplicably slow and the two is soft RAID and the system as a whole is more in more not supported.
Anyway, he has a gorgeous, fully working 30 '' Apple Cinema Display (apparently A1083 model number), which I believe connects via DVI. I wish you to continue to use this monitor with a new iMac, in addition to the 5 K monitor integrated, of course.
Does anyone know a Thunderbolt/DVI adapter? I searched a bit, but so far have not found anything...
Having found nothing on Apple's site, I thought, what the devil and checked Amazon. I found that something called "J & D Mini DisplayPort (Thunderbolt) to DVI adapter cable converter.
Does this mean that the Thunderbolt is identical to what PCs call mini-Display port?

I have five-point-something Lightroom thing set up on a laptop and a desktop Apple computer. Both will import images from a CD or a DVD (I have my film scanned and the images on a disk). I can't change the images on the Mac, but I can edit images on the PC. What is going on? Also, when I try to export edited disk images, where are they going? I can't find them on my hard drive. Thank you!
Your entire development is off? You may be able to disconnect and reconnect. You can check this thread for more suggestions:
I was expecting an error message indicating that the development module is disabled, however. If this isn't what you're talking about, please show us a screenshot of the 'dark' buttons

Try to connect 2007 Apple Cinema Display to the retina of MacBook Pro
I'm trying to connect my MacBook Pro retina 2015 to my old Apple Cinema Display 2007. Apple recommended the purchase of the Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI. I connected everything except directly from monitor adding firewire cable.
I can see the image of the bottom of my laptop, but it is. No feature and not an imitator of my laptop. I'm not 'super tech savvy' but need help. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? Thanks in advance.
Looks like you have the display as extended desktop configuration. With this the second screen is like an extension of the first screen. For the use of several screens, see:
OS X El Capitan: connect multiple monitors to your Mac
It is similar to the other versions of OSX
The screen has FireWire ports, but to use them, plug the FireWire to your Mac. Unless your Mac has two Thunderbolt ports do not use FW via a bolt of lightning > adopter FW

MacBook Pro (retina) and Apple Cinema issue
I have a problem when I connect my MacBook Pro which has a retina display to an Apple Cinema (that doesn't have a retina display). After you connect the laptop, if I try to open the creative cloud application, it shows a higher resolution. Please refer to the screenshot below. The first is a screenshot of the ACTUAL application after connecting my laptop to the screen. I have to click around the application in the hope of a tab and click, it will return to its normal resolution. The second is after I 'luckily' click a ghost tab.
Has anyone seen this issue. If so, what was your solution and more try to click around this App.
Hello
Please, try the following steps:
- Uninstall Adobe CC (Creative Cloud help |) Uninstall the creative Office Cloud app)
- Reboot the computer.
- Install the latest Adobe Creative cloud version from the link: CC help | Creative cloud desktop
Kind regards

Can I connect a Macbook from 12 "to my old Apple Cinema Display 30 ''?
I have a new 12 "MacBook that I cannot connect to my Thunderbolt display, but was hoping to connect it to my old Apple Cinema Display 30". So far, no luck, don't just wanted to ask if it was a popular race of crazy or maybe I was doing something wrong.
The 30 "Cinema Display has a DVI port out, and so far I used it successfully with an old MacBook Air via an Apple Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter.
Then I thought, 'I'll buy a USB - C for the Mini DisplayPort adapter!' thinking that I would be able to link 12 '' MacBook with USB - C to Mini DisplayPort adapter Apple Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter to Apple Cinema Display 30 ''.
It does not work. I tried two different USB - C for the Mini DisplayPort adapters and two different Apple Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter, without success.
If this work, or is it doomed to failure? And if it should work, what can I do better?
Thank you
Alan
A single adapter would be the best bet. If you can find a C - USB to DVI, maybe that would work, assuming that the Cinema display does not use a DVI port updated the. Here is a sample of the Amazon.

How to connect mid 2000 Apple Cinema Display to all new MacBook Pro
Hi all
I have an old monitor Apple Cinema Display (probably around 2005/2006) and would like to connect it to my new MacBook Pro. I bought the cable I thought I needed but it wasn't the right one, so to avoid that happening again, please could someone advise which is the right cable to use.
Thank you!
I have no idea of what you purchased was not compatible.
You will need an adapter of your Thunderbolt port for the cinema display. I guess (since you don't specify the entries on the screen) that your cinema display has a DVI input then get something like these:

ITunes detects the iPod, but 'cannot correctly identify' uninstalled iTunes and then re-installed. Restarted laptop. Folder deleted Apple Lockdown, rebooted, still could not "identify" during each step, also disconnected iPod USB port.
Try the following (in that order). Looks like you're using Windows (not a Mac), so I'll make this assumption...
Shut down (power off) the computer, disconnect all the USB devices. Plug the laptop power adapter, so that it does not work on battery power. Do this Reset (reboot), the iPod
Learn how to reset your iPod - Apple Support
Start computer, run iTunes and connect the iPod to a USB direct on the laptop by itself. If there is no difference, put the iPod in Disk Mode
Put the iPod in disk - Apple Support Mode
Then connect to the laptop again, always by himself. If iTunes picks it up, he may ask you to do a restore with a message on the "recovery." If you're OK with deletion of the iPod, do the restore. See if the iPod is "correctly identified" after restoration.
If the problem persists, you said you uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, but may not have uninstalled iTunes and associated software components. Follow the steps in this document to uninstall an iTunes installation components, in the order described all listed

In what concerns the transfer of data from a PC to a MAC, my wife and I have laptops and we want to combine the data both on a Mac. Including two Itunes accounts. This is possible by using the migration on each PC asst?
You can bind the whole apple ID using family sharing. If you have trouble doing this, you can go to the apple store, and they would be happy to help you.
