  Go to control panel > system and security > system and to the left, click on advanced system settings. Once there, go to the Advanced tab, and under performance, click settings. Then, click on the Advanced tab, and under virtual memory, click on change. Now, I did uncheck automatically manage it paging file for all readers size and check again, but if this does not work I heard uncheck automatically manage paging file for all readers size and selecting size made on order and set the initial size and maximum size to 3072 should solve the problem.   Please schedule the expiration of the RC. You will get two weeks notice, and then from March 1, 2010, your PC will start to shut down every two hours. The RC will expire on June 1, 2010. Updates for the system will remain active until you decide to upgrade or replace the operating system. Updates at a time before that time expire since Windows 7 is already out.

• Apparently, I got an automatic update of Windows XP. All of a sudden my computer does not connect to my HP Laserjet 1000 printer.

  All of a sudden my computer does not connect to my HP Laserjet 1000 printer. These work very well together for several years.

  Now all of a sudden I get a message that the computer cable is not connected.  I tried to charge the printer program.

  I unplugged and reconnect the cable to the computer, etc.. The system does not work.

  I learn by two other people, who have automatic updates of Windows, they had the same problem. We have a Kodak

  printer and the other has a Lexmark printer. This makes me think that the problem is in the updates of Windows.

  So, what should I do to fix this? I'm NOT a computer person and I'm confused.

  Just fixed this problem for me:

  Open the file/Program files (x 86).

  Search: vcredist_x64.exe

  3 results popped up for me. I ran all three and it fixed the problem for me. Hope this works for you as well.
