  • Install two grid in the sam Server

    Hi all
    I have 2 servers (Server1, Server2), 2 SAN (SAN1, SAN2)
I want to install Oracle Rac 11 g 2 in this case:
Install Oracle grid (Grid1) rail infrastructure on two servers (Server1, Server2) and SAN1
Install Oracle grid (Grid2) rail infrastructure on two servers (Server1, Server2) and SAN2
    -> Grid1 and Grid2 have two servers (Server1, Server2).

I'm not sure that this case is possible.
Please tell me that this case is possible or impossible. and if it is possible, what are the notes, warning... What can I do to get this case.
I have a project that requires of same species (to configure Dataguard). And now I have to plan this project.

I had to be a little more in a bad mood and just tell you to go read the concepts of RAC cluster and come back and give us the answer to your question, but you and the people asking for such a configuration need to understand what is GI/clusterware... It is a mechanism of communication systems by OS level whereby each system aware of others and they share elements between them such as shared disk devices and memory structures. So the answer to your question is NO, you can have as a GI/ASM ONLY, installed in a cluster. Period. That's like saying I want 2 cores UNIX running in the same system.

You really need to come back and start with the manual of concepts Oracle RAC and ASM concepts (do a search on google for "ASM under the hood" for a thorough ASM)

  • Two sources on the same server db

    Hello

    I already have a replication (DB1 to DB2).
On a single server, I have a new (DB2) databases to replicate
a new database on another server (DB4),
    as below:
    Server1     server2
    DB1   --->    DB3
    DB2   --->    DB4
Can I use a distribution (directory) to ogg
or I have to create a new directory (with delivery)
    for this new replication?

    Thanks for your advice

You can have the Manager running against two databases.

For each database, you will need a user of GoldenGate database.

If you want to keep things separate, there is no problem having a total of four distinct GoldenGate facilities, each with its own process manager. (this is the direction I would take)

The footprint of the installation is not that big, more:

s ' there is a problem between 1 and 3, 2 and 4 will not suffer (and vice versa)
-If you need to upgrade a pair of databases, the other two will not be affected
-You can have different political purge between 1/2 and 3/4

  • RMAN and repositories on the same database grid control

What are the disadvantages of having the RMAN Repository and repository on the same database grid control?

    What effect does this have

    1. daily maintenance

    2. after disaster or high availability... or the recovery scenarios.

3 is server performance with respect to the use of the CPU and memory - not desirable to have two repositories on the same database?

Currently we have not a RMAN or a repository of GC. We intend to implement both. Angle of savings, it would be good if we can just build another data base for two repositories on an existing database server with 2 production databases. The server has enough CPU and RAM face for 1 new database, but that would mean an exaggeration to have 2 new databases.

If it is not advisable to have two repositories on the same database, then we would need strictly two separate databases, in this case, we will need to go to a new database server host two databases, which the org seeks to avoid, as this would mean that to buy a new license.

I tried searching a few books, but don't have no clear guidance on the same. Any opionion would really help. Thank you.

    Concerning

    S diallo

Where this instance fails, all rman needs to restore is in the database control file. How to restore a database with rman from the command line, without a catalog. (The backup and Recovery Guide has details of how do.) This will get data back so that you can use the grid again control.

In order to insure against a default of the machine hosting the instance, verify that the database is in log mode archive and protected with scheduled backups of hot and copy the backup files to another server.

Other options for high availability, you have a license (Data Guard, RAC) could also be deployed for this instance, if you need more recovery options.

  • More of a caches(expiry-delay) on the same server for consistency?

I have a requirement to have two caches in the same server. A delay expires within 60 days and the other with 3 minutes. Is this possible? Please post sample coherence-cache - config.xml and tangosol-coherence - override.xml

    Hello

It is easily possible to have parameters of different expiry for each of your caches and there are a few ways to do this. You only need to put the configuration in the configuration of the cache file, you don't need to touch the override file.

The simplest solution is to use different cache with init-params mappings

                cache-one
                sample-scheme

                        expiry-time
                        60d

                cache-two
                sample-scheme

                        expiry-time
                        3m

                example-distributed
                DistributedCache

                        {expiry-time 0}

                true

So, while that the example above shows how you can pass different parameters for different caches to the regime hiding the example won't work en your condition. The problem is that it is not possible to set a time-out on a cache that is greater than 24 days. That's because consistency keeps the value as an integer (don't ask me why) so he can no longer hold to Integer.MAX_VALUE (2147483647) milliseconds or about 24 days.

An approach to define a longer maturity is to use the cache.put () method that takes a key, the value of time...

    cache.put(key, value, Base.parseTime("60d"));

.. .well obviously will not if no code does not follow this model to update the cache.

You could become more complicated and has a custom implementation of a support card that you use for the local cache that would allow the time of expiration for 24 days.

  • How can I create a cluster of two instances that are running on the same server?

    Hello
I can't find how to create a cluster or even a rule of failover for my two instances that are running on the same server ODSEE 11 GR 1 material.
    Could you please help?

    Thank you

    Hello
Clustering (intended as Sun Cluster, Veritas Cluster, etc...) IS NOT supported since 7.0:

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E20295_01/PDF/821-1216.PDF [page 20]

and, according to my own experience, is the WORST way to achieve high availability of Service LDAP directory and in a way almost CONCEDED for replication problems in your topology (lock, split, re-init, etc...).

Please use the "application level" collection that you get out of the box with the multimaster replication.

  • Management node for two areas located on the same server

I need help to understand how to set up management node for two areas on the same servers. My configuration is:

    Server A:
    AdminServer to area D1
    ManagedServer1 area D1
    ManagedServer2 domain D2
    ServerB:
    AdminServer for domain D2
    ManagedServer1 domain D2
    ManagedServer2 area D1

Just to clarify, D1 and D2 are dev and qa environment. WebLogic configurations and domain are all in different and completely separate folders.

I started a manager based on java node on each server. Managers node configs are in different folders as well. Something is messed up, because it does not work properly. For example when I start nodes on server B Manager, he kills AdminServer for D2.

Can I have that one manager of the nodes in this configuration, and the problem is in the config somewhere?
I should have a management node on each server for each domain (two per server node managers?)

Sorry if this is a basic trick, I am newbie in the weblogic configurations.

    Thank you
    Oleg

Not sure why you have several domains. A server administrator can manage multiple clusters in a single domain. A domain is just a group admin servers and clusters. You could do something like:

    Server A:
    AdminServer domain D1 with 2 groups C1, C2
    ManagedServer1 cluster C1
    ManagedServer2 cluster C2
    ServerB:
    ManagedServer1 cluster C2
    ManagedServer2 cluster C1

that would allow you to use only 1 nodemanager by server

With your current setup, make sure that each of your domains using a Nodemanager port separate from each other. The default value is 5556, so if two of your domains use the same port NM, there will be a problem.

For example, with your domain name:

    Server A:
    AdminServer to area D1
    ManagedServer1 domain D1 - use port 5556 NM
    ManagedServer2 domain D2 - use NM port 5557
    ServerB:
    AdminServer for domain D2
    ManagedServer1 domain D2 - use NM port 5557
    ManagedServer2 domain D1 - use port 5556 NM

You will need set the nodemanager.properties and the configuration of the Machine in BOTH appropriate for each administration console. You should be able to run multiple nodemanagers on different ports.

  • Recommendation req - how two database with the same name can exist on a single server

Description of the problem: I have a database named 'aaa' (9i db) in production and we need a copy of it to create 'aaa' in the same server with the same name, but an 11g database.

9i 'aaa' is an exixting database in an AIX 5.3 Server.
You will need to create a copy of this database 11 g named 'aaa' on the same server. I use the utility exp and imp db, but not sure how far it is recommended to have the same db names in a single server. Not sure about listener etc. problems.

Any suggestions on this would be appreciated!

Create this database for a specific application, test and cut classes to prod.

    The goal is admirable.
The proposed plan makes me shudder.
V11.2 must be installed on system new/other, IMO; to reduce the risk of wrong operation on the basis of incorrect data.

  • dblink to an instance on the same server

Suppose I have two Oracle instances that sit on the same physical server. In one case, I create one dblink to another and this dblink allows to define a view as select * from sometable@dblink. Will there be of the type involved in the trafficking network restrictions (for example limited to the current network interface physical bandwidth as 100 Mbps, 1 Gbps) causing overhead tiny as these instances be on separate physical machines? In other words, is this dblink between instances the right way to go, or maybe there is possibility to enjoy a few additional mechanisms for these two instances provided the fastest way possible (and assuming that created the view above)?

    Thank you

If the two instances are on the same server, LAN drivers/software can resolve the IP address of the connected 'server' as the local host, so he won't need to go out on the network (if possible, why not try unplugging the network cable from the server and see if it works again - assuming, of course, the network is not necessary for the duration).   The connection will pass through the network interface on the same server and communicate via the relevant port that the instance is configured on.

This isn't really any different to having an instance of database installed on a computer not connected to the network that you connect then on this same computer by using any client interface, it will be always access it through the port on which the database is listening, but there is no need for any network physical to exist.

As separate bodies, then using dblink is probably the method appropriate and common use.

  • Update two tables at the same time?

Hi, I'm having some trouble finding how to create a new field in both tables of the same shape. (php mysql)

I have two paintings: a table listing the projects and

a table listing assignments for example, a project may have more than one assignment.

When the user submits the form the insert record server behavior creates a new project. The projectID in the project table field is an AutoNumber created in mysql.

Now when the new assignment record is created in the assignment table must use the projectID AutoNumber to refer to the parent project.

That's the problem, I don't know how to get the new AutoNumber the table project. I tried setting a variable from a select query to find the last record on the project table... but the problem is that it assigns the value when you load the web page. If two users loading the same page before insertion, the action takes place so both are assigned the same projectID. Of course, which is useless.

I'm not a programmer so need help to understand this.

    See you soon,.

Please help, thank you for this option online support

I should add that if you operate the account using Pop then messages can be left on the server without any indication that they have been read. You define each customer to leave them on the server.

However if you don't know what messages have been read, I know not how will you know which ones to delete and when to do it. Without active maintenance your server could quickly become full.

Hi, so basically, I just upgraded to this laptop 15 n097sa (new to me) of my old sucks, and it's so much better.
Only, I just noticed that when his left or right is out at the same time the two speakers. I noticed you access with your headphones. the left certainly comes out the left a little more and the right thus respectively, but they always come out of two speakers much.

I only did a real test on youtube videos of stereo test, even I tested it on my old acer before, that came out of the correct speakers.

  • WebDAV: use of the different logins to different WebDAV folders on the same server

    Hello

I quite often use WebDAV to access the various folders on a server on the Internet. I do this "Add a network location" in Windows Explorer, then using the address https Server (for example https://www.myserver.com/folder1). The first time that I need to enter the credentials of the user and the corresponding password and Windows seems to store them somewhere so that I can connect to this folder also after a re-login without having to re - insert my credentials.

The question I have, is that I also need access to different folders on the same server (for example https://www.myserver.com/folder2) that requires different user credentials and passwords. The only way I have found is to remove the first network location, disconnect and reconnect to the Windows and then add the new location of the network in Windows Explorer; Just delete the first network location and adding the second network location would not be enough that Windows had always stored the context of the 1st network location and tried to connect with the credentials of the user and the password of the 1st second.

Question: is there a less cumbersome way to remove context from a WebDAV connection, so that I do not need to disconnect and reconnect if I need to connect to the same server with different user credentials?

    Thank you very much
