Hello
First of all, I would like to thank you in advance for your help.
I had the problem of my HL - DT - ST DVDRAM GSA - T40N ATA Device not reading anything into the drive and removed the filters. It is still not working properly, and it's the rare occasions when he did (after hitting enough lol) and I needed it to work again. I disabled the device and rebooted before her reactivation. Although it works now it has unfortunately fizzled. It is now only installed as a CD player and it used to be a DVD player. Before it stopped working TI played DVD 100% fine as well so it should be good.
Here is some info on my laptop:
Model: Acer Aspire 5920
OS: Vista Edition Home Premium
RAM: 3 GBIf you are in need of any more information do not hesitate to ask!
Thank you
JackHello
You have disk problem as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (burn CD & DVD and CD and DVD read).
Therefore, it is not unusual for 1 or 2 rooms with not so work that others do it properly.Several good info here:

I changed Windows XP to Windows 7 Home Version 3SP. Both my DVD-Rom are not recognized by Windows. A check in the Device Manager reports that both drivers are up-to-date. I ran each anvenue in windows and the manufacturer's Web pages. Now, I hope you can help?
What can I do?

Acer HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T40N ATA Device Driver installation failed
OK, so my CD and DVD player has not worked for about 9 months (I'm a student, so I had a hard time trying to find the time to fix it.) I tried the Microsoft Fix - It application for CD/DVD issues, and he said that my driver has not been installed correctly. Vista could cause this, or is it the fault of the company of my computer? Is it possible to fix it without taking a store on my computer? Thank you for taking the time to look at my questions.

Try to remove the CD/DVD filters in the registry.
When the associated CD/DVD (such as iTunes, Nero, virtual CD software), the software is installed, they install filters in the registry, which can cause compatibility problems.(1) run Regedit (start-> Run-> Regedit)
2) navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
(3) in the right pane, delete the "UpperFilters" key and delete the key "LowerFilters".
(4) restart. If your CD/DVD programs stop working, you will need to reinstall them (preferably with an updated version).
This utility can remove the filters for you:

LG says that Toshiba has new firmware.Hello
I checked the page European driver of Toshiba and find tree updates different firmware for TS-L632H and TS-L632P and TS-L632, but there is no update for LG GSA-T20N.
If you are not able to burn data to discs double layer, then you should try different brands.

Satellite A300 - search driver for Pioneer DVD - RW DVRKD08A ATA Device
Hello
I have a Satellite A300.
My problem is that the driver for the Pioneer DVD - RW DVRKD08A ATA Device does not work. I have research the Toshiba site for a new driver, but I can't find. Can someone help me?
I put t understand why you need this driver?
What do you mean by player don t work? The Windows operating system contains such driver! It s an own drivers from Microsoft and the ODD should be recognized automatically.
In your case, you should first check if the CD/DVD drive is recognized in the BIOS.
If it s not the case then your new ODD is not compatible or there is a hardware failure. If the BIOS recognizes the drive CD/DVD correctly, but if the ODD is not correctly in the Windows Device Manager (yellow exclamation point) then this could be the problem of registry.
In this case, you should remove the reader of CD/DVD from the list of devices and must restart the new laptop
