HDTV tuner card instant ads with a code 10
I have windows vista Home premium package with media center. I did a full charge of vista and for some reason any I can no longer watch TV in windows media center. in Device Manager there is a yellow exclaimation point next to the map of pci ADS instant hdtv. I tried updating the driver and uninstall and reinstallation of the tuner, but nothing works. I keep getting a CODE 10 error, cannot start. I tried same physcaly withdrawal of the card and starting the computer and then put it back. NOTHING HAS WORKED, AND NO ONE SEEMS TO HAVE AN ANSWER FOR IT! Help, please!
Hello. I'll explain how I solved this problem. I recognize that this may be different, but who knows. I'm running on Vista x 64 premium. I had the same exact error you described on the exact piece of material. The part that can be different, is that I know what caused my hardware to stop working, I had turned off inadvertently.
Here's how I fixed (I tried update driver, points of restoration system, uninstalling and reinstalling and kept receiving error code 10)
1. go in Control Panel
2. choose Classic view, and I chose "sound".
3. I right click with my mouse when my devices are all listed and selected "show disabled devices" and "show disconnected devices"
4. after that, my hardware reappeared and I allowed him and it works fine.
I know that maybe it's not what happened to you, but I thought I'd try in case it was

No socket antenna/cable on dv7t-3000 with built-in HDTV tuner
My question to you all is 'out there', your laptop has come with an antenna/cable intake when you ordered the tuner? The antenna connector and the cable with my laptop came with circular plugs that look like they would a 'white' circular on the right side of my machine.
Unfortunately, when I talk with various people at the help desk, I have been informed a) tuner with an antenna, b) inability of the tuner to pick up a signal (without cable connection) is a performance issue that is covered by a disclaimer clause in the integrated HDTV hybrid Tuner HP help me decide to text, and c) must be ordered separately.
Would appreciate your comments before doing a * outa' me calling to order a plug...
Yes, I have the HDX 18 with tuner and it came with an antenna that plugs into the right hole next to the power connector antenna, and it came with an adapter that you can plug a coaxial cable in also. I've never heard a computer tv tuner with a built-in antenna.

HOW to do a clean install of Vista: see the "to install Windows by performing a clean install" (or "reinstall Windows Vista") http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Installing-and-reinstalling-Windows-Vista article
NOTE: If your computer came with a set of disks, there is a hidden partition restore (not to be confused with the restoration of the system) you would use to do the clean install (AKA a "destructive recovery").
After the new installation, you will have the equivalent of a "new computer" in order to take care of EVERYTHING on the next page before connecting the machine to the internet or one local network (i.e. other computers) AND BEFORE to plug in a flash, SD card, or any other external drive to the computer otherwise:

You MUST uninstall the trial for free AND download/run the removal tool appropriate prior to installing the updates, Windows Service Packs or IE upgrades AND BEFORE installing your new anti-virus application.

My HP Envy for television using the old Tuner card
I currently have a HP Envy 17 with no PCMCIA card slot. My old computer is a laptop HP DV9260 (Vista) that came with a PCMCIA TV tuner card (I never used). I still have the card and all other components.
I want to use my desire to pick up digital TV shows, but I can't use the previous tuner card because the desire doesn't have a card slot. Which is the best option... (1) find an adapter to use the prior TV tuner to the PC (via USB) card or 2) buy a new tuner system? I checked with HP, not a lot of help support. Thank you!!
