Hello.. MacBook Pro 2007/8 running OS 10.7.5.  Posterization image/movie

Hello.. MacBook Pro 2007/8 running OS 10.7.5.

All hard disk fairly new works healthy... Desktop and the Finder/opening text electronic documents/mail work / online / all programs open... everything works smooth as before the birth of this current problem.

The only problem is that all images, so stills open in preview, or movies open in Quicktime, or office photos and even live in Skype pictures... suddenly became - the best way I can describe it is - "Posterization" i.e. all areas of black/shadow in the film images are displayed as a red purple fluctuation.

There is absolutely no problem opening, movies, or images and audio tracks sound/Skype film is not in any way affected.  I suspect a hardware problem, but someone might suggest that he could be?  Thanks for any help BC

If it's a MacBook Pro from the beginning of 2008, it is probably the formidable NVidia video problem. There was a repair extended for that program, but it ended in 2012: MacBook Pro: distorted video or no video issues - Apple Support

  • MacBook Pro 2007 Does not show the headset as an output option

Hi all, I have recently restored a MacBook Pro 2007 for my college work and it works well... Except for one thing. The wearing of the helmet.

I wish I could use my headphone port that I will do a Final Cut Pro here job and likely to spend much time in the classroom when playing audio through the built-in speakers will be disruptive.

I've already replaced the left i/o board with a working version (as the previous owner had neglected it and broke a record in there.) Villain...

If you're wondering, the computer is currently running El Capitan and it seems it well, apart from the question with the headphone jack. I searched in Google for this issue, and most of them seem to be much easier to solve because their use of the helmet IS shown in system preferences, while mine is not. A little weird issues really, especially as the line works perfectly fine! Just not the headphone port...

If anyone can spare a moment to help me with this issue, I would greatly appreciate your help. I love my MBP. So, I want it to work as it should.

    Thank you very much

Problem solved! A problem with the IO card. I've fixed since the question and making works normally.

  • Why the fan on my macbook pro continue to run at a fast pace for long periods?

    The MacBook Pro mid-2010

OS X El Capitan, 10.11.3 version

Processor: 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 duo

    Memory: 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce 320 M 256 MB

    163 GB available

iWorks ' 09 has been upgraded to the latest versions

No new upgrade is available for the system.

My Question: Why the fan on my macbook pro continues to run at a fast pace for long periods?

I guess that the fan runs constantly, because the CPU is working at a high rate. I rebooted several times but without any resolution systems. At the bottom of the computer is very hot at times so place the laptop on an object that allows good air circulation. This problem occurs intermittently every few weeks or more. I wonder if it is downloading an important upgrade, do a scan of viruses, or by working as a bot. Lights for hours. Currently, I estimate that it has worked rapidly to possible 6 hours. Thank you.

It will usually be to dissipate internal heat from running resource intensive applications.

Download and install a temperature/speed control application.

Open the activity monitor all THE PROCESSES and CPU to display values between high and low.

When the fan speeds up, post pictures of both for review.

    Also run Apple Hardware Test:

    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT201257

Note that an error free AHT is inconclusive.

    Ciao.

  • MacBook Pro 15 "retina run hot.

    Hello

I bought my macbook pro ' retina of 15-inch (model 2015) in July and I had to install windows I did of the hollow windows, but when I'm coding stuff like C++ it turns really hot and the fans will too, even when I am just watching youtube or netflix on windows. What temperature?

Install a temperature/fanspeed control application.  Maybe you use resources intensive applications but you can still be found within the limits of acceptable temperature.

  • Can someone tell me how / if I can connect my very old Macbook Pro (2007 - OS10.6.8) to my HDTV?

I'm looking for information on how to do it, but did not get everything that deals with my antique Macbook. I wish I could see the videos (Vimeo, etc.) on a larger screen. Thanks in advance!

The first thing to do would be to identify exactly what MacBook Pro you have, and by extension the ports there.

    You need a DVI port.

You can use a DVI-HDMI adapter and an HDMi cable to connect your Mac to the Tv.

  • How can I connect HP ENVY 110 d411a (white) for the MacBook Pro OSX Lion running through a wi - fi connection?

And how can I use the AirPrint.

(I'm not English, sorry for my bad English)

    1.

    Hello

I bought a HP ENVY 110 d411a (white) on the last day, but I have different problems trying to configure it.

I did all the settings of the printer and properly installed the CD rom on 2 PC running Windows XP. (All works) I also tried the ePrint and it works without problem.

Problems come when I tried to implement it in my book for Mac OSX Lion running. I downloaded the "ENVY-110 - series_v12.14.0.dmg" from the HP site, but it seems that the computer cannot detect the printer wi - fi thorugh, even though they connect on the same wi - fi. Reading this forum I also installed an additional update "HP_Scan_for_Mac_OS_X_10.7_Update.dmg" and "support.apple.com/kb/DL907" Also I tried to unstall all and reinstall another time.

I'm sure that the printer is on the same wi - fi, I know not wi - fi is active, because the other PC I can print and scan, I'm sure it has a regualr IP address, the printer is new (2 days) and my MacBook is updated to the latest firmware.

    What can I do else?

    2.

My other question is how can I enable the AirPrint? I tried to detect the printer from the phone, but he can't find anything...

I read that this requires an update of the printer, but I already checked the updates and it says that the latest firmware is already installed...

Can you help at least with the first point?

OK, thanks for that.  This problem is with your router.  Your Mac uses Hello (also called mDNS) to find your printer.  If the router does not support this, your Mac will never see it.  It is a common problem with routers provided by the ISP.

I would recommend that you contact your ISP and either resolve the issue or give you a router that supports mDNS.  Last resort, you can get your own router and just use the modem from the ISP box part.

  • MacBook Pro mid-2012 running hot (MacOS Sierra)

    Hello

    I have a MBP mid-2012 13 inch with 16 GB. of ram and a 500 GB. SSD

I had it set up with boot camp and dualboot El Capitan and MS-Windows-10

Everything is working, all the features and functions in the two operating systems.

I was very pleased with this MBP.

Recently, I put a new battery in it and upgraded to Mac OS Sierra.

Since then the MBP runs hot.

    It heats up very quickly.

Is this a common problem with macOS Sierra?

Or do you think that the NEW battery maybe causing the MBP get HOT?

I use an adapter to power 85 watts OEM.

The battery seems to work fine.

Several demons as mdworker are running to set up the Sierra which CPU load until adjustment ended.

You can check with activity monitor.

  • Just migrated to the new MacBook Pro and plugged an external drive with VM - has made "move" or "copy"?

    Hi-

I just used Migration Assistant to transfer my account (including Fusion) of my old MBP to my new MBP. My VIsta 64 - bit VM Fusion is and resides on an external HARD drive. so, after the migration successful (apparently) I connected the external drive to the new machine and (ii) grown up merge.  Fusion has seen the virtual machine, I selected to motorise the. Merge request now:

Did you move this virtual machine, or you copied it?

It seems to me that I did, nor as the volume disk external DRIVE containing the Vista VM was not mounted at the time of migration (in fact, the drive has been disconnected). I copied the platform, including the Fusion, from one physical machine to another.

I know this is probably an easy answer, but I don't want to blow up this very important step in getting my new machine, running and functional.  ?:|

    Help!

    Instant wrote:

Thus, it is "moved", even if no bit VM have been transferred or altered in any way and the virtual machine remains resident in the same volume on the external hard drive?

Yes, it's "I moved it" in order to maintain the same UUID and MAC address, which should keep the machine virtual Windows FRO Windows Product Activation trigger.

    Now to the other...

As I pointed out in the original post, and you noted in your response, I transferred Fusion to the new machine (for the internal HARD disk) via the Migration Wizard. What should I do now? Uninstalling merge on the new machine, and then download and reinstall? (I'm on v2.04; I guess I would upgrade comes in support of w/SL v2.05...) ? Or NOT uninstall but rather update to v2.05 (easier)?

I run the uninstall and then install Fusion 2.0.5. (Note: Fusion 2.x is not a dynamic update)  Uninstalling/reinstalling also Fusion will not delete your Virtual Machines.

    Hello

Your panic report indicates a "page fault".

In general, page faults are caused by a corruption of the data structures in the core software, hardware RAM or software related issues.

    Try the following:

    (1) repair the hard drive (in disk utility)

    (2) since you have a non-original SSD: If you have enabled FileVault, try disabling it.

    (3) reinstall the OS http://support.apple.com/kb/PH18872

    4) consider in an Apple Store and ask them to test it.

  • My MacBook Pro is running extremely slow all of a sudden. Help, please!

My MacBook Pro is in running extremely slow all of a sudden, that way for several days now and I can't understand what is the cause.

Details: MacBook Pro (13-inch, late 2011)

    Processor - 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5

    Memory - 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR 3

Storage - 500 GB SATA (264.44 498.88 free GB) drive

OSX - El Capitan 10.11.5 version

I tried the simple things such as checking for indexing spotlight, my home screen of the size of the compensation, first aid running in disk utility, etc.. But had no results. Any suggestions would be very appreciated!

Back up all data immediately, as the internal drive may be failing.

When you see a beachball cursor or the slowness is particularly bad, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.

These must be run as administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.

Run the Console application in one of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first letters of his name in a Spotlight search. Select from the results (it should be at the top).

☞ In the Finder, select go utilities ▹ of menu bar or press the combination of keys shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

The title of the Console window should be all Messages. If it isn't, select

SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ all Messages

in the list of logs on the left. If you don't see this list, select

List of newspapers seen ▹ display

in the menu at the top of the screen bar.

Each message in the journal begins with the date and time when it was entered. Highlight date back to the time you noted above.

Select the messages entered since then until the end of the episode, or until they begin to repeat, whichever comes first.

Copy messages to the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command + V.

The journal contains a large amount of information, almost all this is useless to solve any particular problem. When you post a journal excerpt, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.

Please don't dump blindly thousands of lines in the journal in this discussion.

Please do not post screenshots of log messages - text poster.

Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

When you post the journal excerpt, an error message may appear on the web page: "you include content in your post that is not allowed", or "the message contains invalid characters." It's a bug in the forum software. Thanks for posting the text on Pastebin, then post here a link to the page you created.

If you have an account on Pastebin, please do not select private in exposure menu to paste on the page, because no one else that you will be able to see it.

  • Macbook Pro 17 "since mid-2007 update

    Hi all

    I currently have a MBP 17 "bought mid-2007.

So far, the computer is doing well (for a 9yo computer). I just upgraded to El Capitan without problem. However, for some years now, my computer is slow (which is I guess than expected).

    I was trying to update.

    Here is the info:

    MacBook Pro (17-inch 2. 4 GHZ)

Processor 2.4 GHZ intel core 2 Duo

    Memory 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 256 MB

I would be interested in upgrading my RAM and also do a SSD upgrade.

    RAM upgrade

As I understand it, with my mac, I go to 4 GB of RAM. In this regard, I have 2 questions:

-is it worth it for me to update the RAM (I am currently using on average 1.7 GB / 2 GB of RAM)

Should-2x2gb RAm I buy? I looked a little, but I can't find exactly the name of 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM for 2x2gb... Would be Crucial 4 GB Kit (2GBx2) DDR2-667 SODIMM memory for Macdo the trick?

    SSD upgrade

Today, the mbp is a 160 GB SATA drive. For me, 160 GB is quite small, I'm always struggling with space when I barely programs on.

Is it worth updating the SSD in my case?

If so do you have any recommendations on what SSD to buy it?

I've never updated before mac so your knowledge and your comments are very much appreciated!

Thanking you in advance for your help

    See you soon!

    Hi Aqualover001:

Congratulations on maintaining your Macbook Pro going for so long.

You can actually improve your memory 6 GB. http://eShop.MacSales.com/search/MacBook+Pro+2007

El Capitan uses a lot of memory. I have a Macbook Pro 2011 and had 4 GB of memory and found it was not enough. I upgraded to 8 GB and it works well.

I don't know if you can add a SSD, but I found a video on installing a hard drive, but it seems a little involved. Here is a video to view. https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=K9r1UAVq9AU

Maybe someone else who has a 2007 can comment on the SSD.
