Help: Acrobat Pro text recognition

Acrobat Pro text recognition. I know how to use the recognition of text, but for some reason any after it's over, my PDF does not look the same. Images in the PDF file are a little deformed, and the resolution of the PDF everything is messed up. Any suggestions? It is not that I am registering as a small PDF, distortion occurs before you even hit record, but after text recognition is made

I just answer my own question on the internet. Conversion to Adobe PDF to Microsoft Word editable document | Information Technology Group

I just had to use the (exact) option, rather than the "ClearScan" option

Hope that answers to the same question for anyone else who runs into this problem.

  • Need help: Acrobat Pro XI - reduced size PDF vs PDF optimized

I hope that some of you people can help me, I can't contact Adobe customer service.  I've recently updated to Acrobat Pro XI.  In my old version of Acrobat Pro, I used to be able to take a large PDF file (let's say 10 MB) and shrink considerably down with relative ease (less than 1 MB).  The file could then be easily sent, share, read, and especially don't take tons of hard drive space.  With this new version of Acrobat Pro XI, this same file of 10 MB barely reduced up to 7 or 8 MB.  I played with different settings in either the file-> save as others-> PDF of reduced size and File-> Save As-> optimized other PDF.  No matter what I try, I can't reach anywhere near the same compression results than what I used to be able to achieve with my older version of Pro.  I can get the file size reduced, but the reduced quality of the file is trash.

Has anyone else has this problem as well?  Anyone of you have any suggestions on what to do to fix?  I have mainly to scan a document in PDF with my HP OfficeJet Pro and then reduce the size of the PDF file after the scan.  I could scan the document with DPI lower initially (currently scan 300 dpi in grayscale), but then I have not the quality of the scanned image I need to reduce the file down so that it can later be reprinted at a good enough quality.

Leonie... I could have thought of it!  Don't have time to play with it now, but try this out.  Open large PDF you want to shrink in size.  Go to view-> tools-> processing of documents.  There should be a toolbar that opens on the right side of the screen next to the document.  One of the selections will be in PDF format to optimize.  When I did, I got a 12 MB document reduce less than 1 MB!  You can play with the slider to choose a smaller / more low quality vs a bigger / better quality.  I don't know why they hid this feature here, but I think that's what we are looking for.  I highlighted the command and dragged to my main toolbar to make it easier to access next time.

Hope this helps!  I would like to know how it works for you.

You must use one of the graphical tools to conceal what you don't want. You must then use the redax tool to remove hidden - or at least that's my understanding of what you would do.

In fact, you would use the tool 'mark for the redaction' to highlight text or draw rectangles around the areas you want to write. You then click on 'apply the redaction. You can then greeted by a dialog box asking if you want to get rid of some back end information related to what you been expunged (as metadata, attachments, bookmarks, etc).

It is very complete if you want to probably run ion one copy of a file until you get the hang of it.

  • Trying to fill the text box on Acrobat Pro but the program recovers not color.

Some of the PDF files I am trying to use are pictures which may not get picked up by Acrobat Pro text recognition. I am trying to use the tool text box to fill the area with a color, but the fill feature does not work.  When I try to useu nder properties the fill feature is a white box with a diagonal red line through it.  However, I am able to use the feature of color of border under properties.   Is there a way to fix this?

    Thank you!

  • Acrobat Pro 9.4.6 always crashes when you use the OCR on Lion10.7.2 plugin

Hi there, I wonder if you might be able to help me.

Whenever I open a file in Acrobat Pro (English version) 9.4.6. and I want to use the Acrobat "OCR text recognition" at the time of recognition of OCR text that acrobat crashes. It always happens. As a first step to solve this problem I have re-installed version of Acrobat 9.0 of the DVD yesterday and I reinstalled the update but the problem remains. I suppose it could have to do with the OCR plugin. Others have similar problems? What could be a solution? In the past, this function of OCR in Acrobat Pro 9 worked without any problems. When I remember correctly the problem appeared after the Lion put 10.7.2 up-to-date. Thank you very much!

I have now uninstalled Acrobat Pro version by using the uninstall of Acrobat application. After you have reinstalled Acrobat version 9.0.0 of the DVD, there is no problem with OCR, now no longer works.

Currently, I install the updates until 9.4.6. and I guess that there will be no problem.

--> If the problem has been resolved by uninstalling and reinstalling Acrobat complete by using the uninstall of Acrobat application and the original DVD.

  • Acrobat Pro DC: need help to bind the text fields for text overflow

I use Acrobat Pro DC and I'm trying to bind two form fields so that overflow text box1 to box2. Someone knows how to do this? I am a novice so I need step by step help. I did some research but have only found solutions for older versions of Acrobat, if instructions are essentially useless. Please and thank you!

I did it! You have to edit the custom script typo and enter in this:

    If (event.fieldFull | event.willCommit)

    this.getField ("name of the overflow field goes in here") .setFocus ();

Only problems I ran into is that you can't have fields bound, and he cannot have special characters or spaces in the name of the field.

I use Adobe Acrobat Pro. I have created a form and I need to validate the same field to make sure that something has been entered, if nothing, then error message is displayed.

I already have the format and typing Javascript writes:

At the level of the JavaScript document

    function alpha() {}

    var re = / ^ [a-zA-Z \-s]+$/;

Get all of the characters that the user has entered

Adobe change Acrobat a lot between releases. Make sure you follow instructions to the same version you have.

If this looks OK, let us know the exact version you have (help > about Acrobat Pro).

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro DC - grey text properties bar

I saw this question several times when you are looking for a response, but none of the solutions have worked for me. I have been using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (15.4) for months to edit and comment on PDF documents that I printed and then saved as a PDF file to an online mapping system. Until today, I was able to use the shortcut CTRL + E to bring up the properties toolbar and change the properties for the text boxes, call outs etc., including the font properties. It is in mode 'Commentary'.

I am now only able to change the properties of a text box - if I select the text itself all the properties in the toolbar are greyed out.

    I tried:

    • Closing and reopening the program
    • With only a single document at a time
    • Ensure the document is not read only or PDF/A
    • Ending the process of "acrotray" (I think that's what it was called)
    • Opening of a previous document when I was able to change the font properties - can do it on any document, old or new, now
    • Checking the properties are not "locked."
    • Verification I have user rights on MS Edge (the mapping system used only works on here, not IE)
    • Updates of the program

A point that is no accident, that's when I started this work several months ago I set all of the default values that I need them and them have not changed at all, until last week. Doubtful that it is causing the problem but worth a mention anyway.

Help, please! I need to solve this problem as soon as POSSIBLE in order to do my job!

    Thank you!

    Hi all

We have released an update today which solves the problem of the properties toolbar and now you can continue to use it outside of the app commenting as well. Please open Acrobat or Reader DC and visit help > check for updates to ensure that you are on the latest patch.

    Details on the release: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/release-note/acrobat-dc-august-02-2016.html

Please let us know how it goes.

I have Acrobat Pro 10, when I installed the CD player, it has affected the way I was able to move text boxes when I create a form of gall, he has also affected my ability to release and change the properties of the fields /, I'm I suspect my off lucky cat Adobe support will not help , nor a cure to.  Is there a place to find updates to Acrobat 10, if I uninstall my current program?  I still have my original CD and paperwork.  Adobe acknowledge that they have created this problem.   I worked very intensively with Acrobat Pro 10 on the form for a non-profit, I do part, and it happened immediately after that I was testing a form I created in Acrobat 10 to test with CD player. Windows 7 operating system

This is usually due to the function 'Snap to Grid' is enabled. It can be accidentally activated via the keyboard, so this may have been what happened.

  • How to make a text expanding field in Acrobat Pro?

I am trying to create a PDF form with text fields that expand as the information is entered.  I know it can be done in Adobe Livecycle Designer, but I have to be able to do in Acrobat Pro.  I need to be able to save the form once it is filled in and potentially make changes or add additional information later.  That's where I met a problem with Livecycle because I do not have the Extension of Livecycle Reader nor do I have a server to install the Extension of Livecycle Reader on.  Help, please!

You should not have LiveCycle Reader Extensions to what you want to do. Acrobat is able to activate Reader a form that you create with LiveCycle Designer so that it can be registered with the player. He added not all rights of use which can Reader Extensions, but what you have said you probably don't need them.

  • Acrobat Pro XI print PDF of .xps (Microsoft print xps document) - FINAL PDF No. OCR - TEXT NON REPERABLE?

    Platform: Windows 10 desktop

    Adobe Acrobat Pro XI

Problem: Convert Microsoft .xps documents to PDF documents that can use the tools in Adobe Acrobat Pro XI - Impossible to add comments, highlight, underline or OCR (searchable text) - final PDF of the XPS document?

Tried several methods of XPS conversion in PDF format: (1) (2) Adobe PDF printer print to native PDF in Windows 10 (3) Microsoft XPS Document Writer, Microsoft (4) send to OneNote 16 - no pdf is functional as a result of all these conversion options.

. XPS gives no option to save as Adobe PDF despite having Adobe Acrobat Pro XI installed on the same platform.

Cannot print adobe acrobat Full functional file and/or can not save...!

Other current discussions in Adobe and Microsoft Community-not to update environments, suggests savings of XPS in MS one Note, and then the conversion to PDF. But unable to convert 33 MS One Note-Office 2016 pages, together a document a key and save all 33 pages in format pdf. I can't save the 33 pages to OneNote 2016 in a single PDF file.

Please recommend a method to take one. XPS file and make a fully functional pdf, not just view the document in pdf format but use in ADOBE ACROBAT PRO XI.

I tried all the itineraries offered on various sites and spent several hours me looking for answers but have failed to identify an effective practice a single click, or a few clicks option. The problem is that some native windows computers have xps printers and then the document cannot be converted for use in Adobe pdf. Wonder if Adobe XI can be saved on a USB key and used to print documents into adobe PDF files to the thumb of computers without PDF reader app?-just a thought (?).

There are a lot of search results in Google and Bing (for an xps to PDF), other 3rd third-party suppliers, but its difficult and challenging to confirm if you can get a PDF from Adobe to address fully functional which can be used with Adobe Acrobat Pro. If Adobe Acrobat XI can do it, I wonder if other 3rd party applications - doubtful in my review, open to suggestions.

So I wasn't looking to download other 3rd party applications to consider doing the same.

    Help, please.

    Thank you!

    Ashwin Nanda

Apparently you aren't aware that you can easily create a PDF to an XPS file by simply opening the XPS file in Acrobat, or create a PDF file function. The XPS file is converted into a fully functional PDF file. It works not only in the latest version of Acrobat, but in the last several versions as well.

And as Aandi Winston said, no, you can't share a copy of Acrobat on a USB key.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro: creating a form of the word: HELP

I use Adobe Acrobat Pro, creating a form of my existing document before. I would like to add additional conditions to some fields, such as 'read only', use the guidelines of the Ecosign text tags. If Yes, how can I change the domain names? If not, what could I do? In addition, if there is a difference, I use a mac. Thanks in advance for your help

    Hello Bhagirath,

You can make a field read only by a double click on the field and check the "read-only" and save. Now, if you want to use text tags, you just add '!' before the code and it will be read-only.

Let me know if you need assistance.
