HELP for re - configure RAID

I have a windows 8/4th GEN Envy 17 jo29nr. What they do not mention in the description of the form, it's that it comes with a 25 GB SSD for caching. In addition, the standard drive is a disk of 1 TB 5400 RPM / min. I removed the RAID to install an SSD, but now, I want to just put a 750 GB drive at 7200 RPM and reconfigure the RAID for the use of the Intel memory smart caching. But when I go to set up a RAID 0 volume, it will only allow me to (approximately) 44GB, twice the size of the available mSATA SSD. There is literally no option that will change that. Any help would be appreciated big time.

Heretikos,

When configuring RAID 0 with 2 hard disks of different size it always diminishes the largest room of the same size as the smallest for interlacing.

The smallest mSATA SSD in the system is to set up the Cache and no RAID 0 in the Intel rapid storage technology. It's original installation on your laptop.

Let me know if your still following this thread I'd like to talk with you more about this.

  • Best Configuration for optimal IO RAID parameters and ESX 3.5 vmfs volumes

    Hello

We currently have ESX 3.5 update 3 installed on a HP DL585 and connected to a HP MSA 1500.  ESX is installed on the server in a RAID 1 2 x 72 GB configuration.  I tried to determine the best possible configuration for the VMFS partition on the MSA 1500 (or more), but it seems to be getting some mixed reviews between RAID 1, RAID 5, and RAID 10.  That's why I thought I post the question and I hope that some people have recommendations.  Even if the disk size and type may be the best available and we can add to write the memory cache to the MSA then let me know the following... I'm coming looking with better i/o performance overall as well as redundancy (number of readers and size is not limits so if we had better available so how would he).  Assuming that VM will perform a high volume of reads/writes:

1 size Max of LUN to optimize i/o performance (I have read 250 GB but perhaps it can be more)?

2 for the LUN RAID configuration (RAID 5 or RAID 10, as well as all others who may still be better)?

    3. number of disks to span as appropriate?

    4. the amount of memory to install in the table itself or if anything be installed within the guest card and/or fiber ESX?

    Thanks in advance

I'd say go with RAID 10

Number of disks and the size depends on the VMs that spins the discs,

  • Could some expert if you please help me to configure Oracle Gateway for DRDA.

    Hi Experts,

Could you please give me the steps or delete the document to install and configure the oracle for DRDA gateway. I need to put up with the db2 database.

    Platform: AIX
    Database version: 11.2.0.3

I'd really appreciate it if experts will extend their assistance in this regard.

    Thank you

    Hello
    To answer your questions-

    1. I already have a listener running on my oracle database, which is under home(/u01/app/asm/product/11.2.0.3/grid/network/admin) GI.

-You must create a new listening port for the gateway in the directory $GATEWAY_ORACLE_HOME/network/admin
-for your configuration, this looks like it should be-
    /U01/app/Oracle/product/11.2.0.3/dt02/network/admin
-start the receiver of the gateway by using the executable in /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0.3/dt02/bin lsnrctl

    2. I read the Document Oracle, which has been mentioned by the experts above, however got little confused where to run scripts to create the Tables and the data dictionary support Beta project views...
-you need run the scripts in the database non-Oracle to which you are connecting.
So, if it's DB2 on zOS, then run "zos" scripts DB2 itself, if it is DB2 on Linux, Unix or Windows, then run "luw" scripts in DB2.

    3. is there anything that either I should suggest for DB2 guys to go he ends to make it effective.
-Make sure that they granted the necessary authorizations for such users as specified in the documentation, in particular the user that links the gateway packages.

    Kind regards

  • How can I configure raid 1?

I have a HP m9340f, and the 750 GB seagate drive that accompanies it is eventually died. Of course, I don't have any image or to clone, so now I have to re - install all my nonsense.

In diagnosing the drive, I discovered that the bios has raid capability. In fact, that's what the reader has been set on (although there was still only 1 disc). I've never used raid, so my question is, if I want to configure raid 1, so that the next time a drive dies, I have a built-in backup, what exactly do I do? I know that I need to install 2 hard drives, but as soon as I did this, raid configure automatically? I don't see any special properties in the screens of the bios for raid, except for access to the drive (ide/raid/AHCI). Would this be a good idea to use seagate disks, or cares not the bios?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Hello bassman952, maybe I can offer a glimpse of the Raid arrays. Many Members here know this already, but for those who do not, it seems that your system is capable of Raid. It has the Intel G33 chipset, where specifications for this chipset can be found here. This chipset includes the Raid feature for most Raid array configurations. However, HP changed the BIOS to only supported Bay Raid0 and Raid1. A Raid0 array consist usually of 2 hard drives and recommend that be of the same manufacturer, model, capacity, speed and cache. It is possible to use different brands and other specifications of the hard drive, but it is strongly discouraged. A Raid1 array also usually consist of 2 hard drives with the same configuration as described above. All Raid arrays must be installed before all the data is stored on the table.  To configure a matrix Raid on the chipset Intel, immediately after the HP Logo screen disappears, press ctrl and the I touch both and the Intel Matrix Raid Array utility will appear. You can then configure matrix Raid type and disk to be included in this table, save the configuration and exit. The table written Raid0 and bed for two drives at the same time, but with different data. This is referred to as a matrix of blocks. The Raid1 array is referred to as a network of mirrors. If one of the disks in Raid0 array were to fail, all data on both drives would be lost. The Raid1 array reads and writes the same data on two drives in the Raid array at the same time. If one of the disks were to fail, a new hard drive can be installed to replace the failed drive and the system booted and the Raid1 array will be rebuilt, which means that the data from the hard drive of existing work will be copied to the new hard disk. Depending on the capacity of the hard disk and the speed of the system, it can take a good amount of time to accomplish. After that the Raid1 array is rebuilt, the system should boot normally. Table of Raid0 is mainly used for performance while the Raid1 array is used mainly as a redundant to the first hard drive backup. If a Raid array is broken, which means that the configuration of the table is changed, all data on the hard disks will be lost, even in the Raid1 array. Can I have left some items, since I'm trying to remember this memory, but this is essentially how HP uses Raid arrays in their use of home systems. Others use Raid arrays that are different, such as Raid5 and Raid10, Raid0 + 1 and some other Raid configurations, but since we are talking about the Raid arrays on HP systems, other table Raid differences would be not useful for the discussion here.

  • HP EliteDesk 800 G1 SFF: HP EliteDesk 800 G1 SFF: using VGA and DisplayPort simultaneously for double configuration monitor

If the title says it all. I'm trying to set up two monitors on my HP EliteDesk 800 G1 SFF. Here is my configuration:

    1. first monitor (Acer B223W) lights DisplayPort and displays things normally.

    2. second monitor (HP LP2065) is on the VGA port.

The problem is that my second port monitor never gets a signal from the machine and going to sleep mode. Connect the second monitor changes my main screen at a desk empty (no icons, no taskbar, just a plain painted paper), which I believe means it tries to use my VGA monitor as main display.

However, the VGA monitor never seems to show anything. I spent my main screen on the first monitor successfully too, but is not all about him either.

You need to configure raid 0 before installation of win, you cannot "convert" s simple drive to the part of a matrix of blocks.

In general this is not a good idea to use software raid, too a overload the CPU. If you want to raid, invest in a dedicated hardware raid card, which for a decent cost probably more than your motherboard

Adding dynamic NAT for 192.168.150.0/24 on the external interface works, or works the sysopt connection permit VPN

Please tell what to do here, to pin all of the traffic Internet from VPN Clients.

That is, that I need clients connected via VPN tunnel, when connected to the internet, should have their addresses IP NAT'ted against the address of outside internet2 network 2.2.2.2 interface, as it happens for the customers of Campus (172.16.0.0/16)

I am well aware of all involved in here, so please be elaborative in your answers. Please let me know if you need more information about this configuration to respond to my request.

    Thank you & best regards

    Hello

If possible, I'd like to see that a TCP connection attempt (e.g. http://www.google.com) in the ASDM logging of the VPN Client when you set up the dynamic NAT for the VPN Pool also.

I'll try also the command "packet - trace" on the SAA, while the VPN Client is connected to the ASA.

    The command format is

    packet-tracer intput tcp

That should tell what the SAA for this kind of package entering its "input" interface

Still can not see something wrong with the configuration (other than the statement of "nat" missing Dynamics PAT)
