  I'm using CS4 on a PC.

  I degraded a whole word, ranging from light to dark.

  I can take a letter, change curve and get the effect I want.

  I want the whole word to have the effect described in the letter 'A' as shown in the example of wod together.

  If I do a whole word I do each letter individually, and it does not give me the effect of the whole word that I am trying to achieve.

  You can:

  (1) a class and keep it in Live Type (no need to create outlines);

  (2) in the appearance palette/Panel dialog box, select Add new fill;

  (3) apply the gradient from the bottom of the box to tools (which will give you the same gradient as in A) and change it if you wish.

  Hello

  I have some pictures I want to add a radial gradient (cirlcular).  I want to show the middle part of the photo (full opacity) and then it go to zero opacity on the edges of a circle (essentially melted to white).  I have a background layer that is white.

  I'm sure it's pretty simple, but I can't understand it...

  I don't have CS4, but I don't know it must support vector masks and have control of the pen for the masks. The following works in CS5.1.

  Make sure that the Ellipse tool is set to Path mode in the Options bar. Draw the circle. With the selected circle and targeted the image layer, press command (Ctrl on Windows) that you clicked the Add button hides at the bottom of the layers panel. Then in the masks Panel, adjust the feather.

  Another option is to use a circle in a pixel in the layer mask. Target layer of the image, then click on the mask icon Add at the bottom of the layers panel. Make sure that the white mask is focused and draw a black circle with the Ellipse tool in the pixel mode. In the masks Panel, click on reverse then adjust the feather.

  You can use a radial gradient as a mask layer and then creating the gradient while the mask is targeted by adding a regular pixel mask. You can work with the mask visible as an image to grayscale by Opt/Alt-click on the thumbnail.

  I was wondering if someone could help me on the best way to go on what I want to achieve...

  Above is my form that I created (it's a whirl to go over the text of a logo) I'd like the gradient following the whirlwind autour, rather than being at an angle fixed it is currently now.  I am trying to create a light moving effect really type with CMYK... I would like each edge at the end of the LHS color then the center piece to fade to transparency (or vice versa - not yet decided) so the end looks something similar to below.

  

  Any help would be greatly appreciated - I'm relatively new to illustrator and only really know the basics basic principles which seemed to have gotten my by far but would like to learn and learn more...

  You work with nets of gradient. Insert a few lines of networking using the NET tool, then select each point with the direct Selection tool and give it a color and opacity...

• Help mount an Ordnance Survey Map - quality reduced in page view

  Hi all

  This is the first time I tried to do this then it could well be a very stupid solution. I have download an Ordnance Survey Map (scale 1: 50000) and I use PhotoShop CC to add a few lines of territory. The question I have is that when I click on 'View' and select 'size print', the quality or the plan reduces. Print size goes to 24%, but if I access it at 25% is much better. My questions are so

  (1) why this 1% would make such a difference?

  (2) could someone point me in the right direction with regard to the settings that I should open up the project for editing a map to make sure that the quality is as good as possible, as well as the parameters of the box about the size of the Image, i.e. should I ReSample ticked etc.

  (3) the card as shown is a scale of 1: 50000, which should mean that the square of each card must have 20 mm square in full size - why when I set the display mode to 100% are boxes much more Grand. In my mind, if I click on print size then the boxes should show 20 mm

  You can measure your card 100% and train on what scale you want to see in the "life-size". It will be different for everyone; Photoshop actually know what the size of your screen.

  It will be as good as a printed bone card? Depends on the resolution of the TIFF. She must be very high resolution to match the quality of a printed card, even if your printer is as good as that. What resolution they it sell? And you're going to print it out to the original size/scale? You mention 118.11 pixels/cm. It is 300 pixels per inch, which is fine for a photo, but not the best for text and lines. Yet, should look reasonable until you enlarge it.

  I think that your method can be exceptionally complicated. Turn off downsampling, it can only reduce the quality, not increase it. And unless you have a compelling reason, just start by opening the map (not upgrade).  If you want to add simple overlays, Illustrator can be a simpler choice.

  And to check the quality, simply start by making open - Print in Photoshop. Print at 100%.

  Does anyone know how to disable or change the sounds of the hangman program? I would use it for my students to learn vocabulary words, but comments that are cartoon characters are inappropriate.  I would like to transform or alter sound before I publish, but I could not find a way to do it. I need help with step by step instructions.

  Also, does anyone know how to change the font on the letters in the executioner? They are too fancy for young learners and cursive.

  If you have no other audio on the slide with the interaction of the Hangman, you could try to just cut this particular slide audio: "Enter On--> assign cpCmndMute with 1.

  You must make sure that the slide in the project (and the previous slide, if you allow moving backward) resets the variable to reactivate the audio: "Enter On--> assign cpCmndMute with 0.

  I just used one of the preset gradient Rainbow but now I need to use the background/foreground as the gradient. How can I make it back to normal?

  By default, the first gradient in the list is in the foreground to background gradient.

  I just bought a Kingston Hyper X SSD for my DV7T-7200.  I was able to clone my hard drive and was able to install the drive in the laptop and plug as post2.  The Bios sees the drive, but there is no option in the Bios to select it as my boot drive.  Windows does not see the drive.

  What can I do to make it work?

• "Hard drive" problems repair installation XP

  I have used "some critical XP boot file not found" error message on a backup computer (an early 1.1 MacBook which has 1 GB RAM) I have not used for a year or two and tried to repair the installation.  In the measure where that actually, I start with the CD, download the .flp SCSI file, by pressing FnF6 at the right time (which is not easy!) and exercise. There is one more step curious where install asks if you want to load a SCSI driver and when I said YES, he told me that he was loading the VMWare SCSI driver and operated.

  A bit worrying, when I first tried to fix this, I accidentally created a new virtual machine and installed XP in that, without realizing that I wasn't not repair installation on site.  All right, but just as he was about to do the installation, after copying all it's files from the CD etc etc and install from those files, it suddenly gives a mysterious cyclic redundancy error, claiming that there is a problem with the CD he uses is more.

  Hi, I am a new user of Vmware Fusion (or Mac for that matter) so if you think that my problem happened to be quite some pretty stupid mistakes on my part.

  Tuesday, I just noticed that the update to version 2.0.2 and downloaded at short notice. The program wasn't on my Windows XP has been suspended, and I made the mistake of not the have stopped even if it has been suspended. I install the new update without problem, but when I restart my computer and turn it on... Well that's the point that I realized that my windows account is always logged. I noticed that he was waiting to load something, the pointer is an hourglass. But it not let me restart my computer regularly. But once it starts, it freezes on the loading screen windows. Not sure what to do, I'm forced to reboot through the merger of WMware toolbar command. He now says he needs to check a large number of files truncates the files on it, but during the process. It happened pretty fast so I have not heard what it was, but after that, he reached an error and blue screen and tries to restart.   I'm sorry that if this is not the right place to ask about this, I was directed here through the support for the view part after watching a response.

  There are several thing you can try and basically the same things as if it were a physical machine as the boot with the XP install CD / ISO Image and either use the Recovery Console to repair the registry or do a repair install, but the first thing first of all try to mount the virtual hard drive and retrieve your user data , then, first of all make a backup of the entire Virtual Machine assuming that it is a normal base file Virtual Machine and the Boot Camp partition.

  Take a look at: VMware Fusion (menu bar) > help > VMware Fusion help > managing Virtual Machines > VMDKMounter to help mount a virtual drive as a Mac Volume

  Note: If VMDKMounter is mounted with success you will be unwise and a titled Untitled white drive icon should appear on your desktop.

  Also use VMDKMounter with the Virtual Machine, not suspended and merger shutdown closed...

• VM crash - recovery ideas?

  I had a VM open with XP Pro running.  I went to Excel 2008 under OSX and got the famous spinning wheel of color.  I could go back to the virtual machine and he suspended and restarted the Mac Pro, think that the virtual machine were safe.  Well, it turns out, it's was not only not sure, there summer altered so bad that explorer.exe can not start!  I was one day away from my scheduled backup, but of course, it does not help.  I need to get a file on the VM, corrupted.

  Someone at - it other ideas for recovery?  Is there a way to access the files in the virtual computer even if the browser does not start?

  Thoughts or ideas greatly appreciated!

  Note: My experience when using VMDKMounter was that if no error message appears, then the virtual hard disk has been mounted and it appears usually on the desktop as an icon of white player named "Untitled".

• Partition in gray and cannot mount/erase, help!

  So I used to have bootcamp on my macbook pro, until there was some kind of issue that made me delete, or so I thought.

  So today after clearing my computer out of the way of bootcamp, I started bootcamp and was greeted by a message saying

  "The startup disk must be formatted in a single volume in Mac OS extended (journaled) or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant to install Windows."

  So logically I open disk utility and surely, there were three partitions; 12x12cm HD, recovery and the other named Untitled. The partition named untitled had 99GB of storage all be exhausted and has been grey, I tried to clear it, and then mount it, but nothing seemed to work. (Erasing gave an error message) I tried paritioning the SSD, but it said something like "Enable logging" (which I've tried to do, but were grayed out for me)

  Please help, I have no idea what's going on and I really want to get bootcamp running!

  I decided to go ahead and try to start windows, and surely, it has not been entirely removed. I installed the drivers installation, selected the 98 GB partition and deleted. Then, I left out of the facility, in OS X and wollah, back to a single disk again!
