Help! Records is 'My Computer' are more grouped separately, like a normal folder view with icons appearing one after another

I have Windows XP Pro SP3, after I shut down my computer one day and handed back upward, the look has changed to 'MY COMPUTER', they were prominent groups such as "Shared folders", "Hard drive" and "devices with removable storage".  Now, the Group disappeared and all that remains is the drives and folders in a page layout, like how a regular all types one after the other.  How to get back the old look with them separate?

Click view > rearrange icons by > Type and view > rearrange icons by > show in groups .

  • After the migration, I set no longer filtering rules, as TB indicates "No available record" - the incoming mails are sorted according to the rules in force in the folder

I had to install a new computer. I moved the profile data as described here. A new folder (just the icon) appeared out of nowhere (it cannot be moved, renamed, deleted, etc.).

When I highlight a message and choose Message-> create message filters, I can't create a rule to move messages to a folder, as the area where I can choose the target folder is grayed and he says: 'no record available", that is not true, I have a lot of files and the existing rules that route incoming messages in the correct files (that have been set before the move).

I can't rule out that this is not related to the move, but to a new version of ThunderBird, because I do not create rules that often.

I use ThunderBird to different e-mail accounts with different providers.

    I found the solution.

For some unknown reason, one of my accounts was defective. I noticed that I have does not receive emails from this account and found that he had turned in this ghost file.

I hope that someone from the developers takes a look on this, it's pretty embarrassing.

  • Help!  I looked at my files "backup", and now ALL my pictures are more 'related' to Lightroom.

I thought I was missing some files, so I looked at my backup files.  I received a 'warning' that Lightroom would restart and display my backup files.  I have NOT received any warning, that there is NO GOING BACK!  I've tried everything.  I can't add a link to ONE of my pictures.  Well, I just did an and he told me all the other photos in the folder have been corrupted and Lightroom would not be able to edit (and no, it wasn't an exported .jpeg file).  Fortunately, I am not concerned about this issue, that's why I tested it.  I have moved all my pictures from my C drive on my D drive because for some reason strange on this computer, my D drive is 5 times bigger and I ran out of room.  When I did, I was able to recreate a link to all the photos.  Unfortunately, it didn't keep my records, he has them just relinked in chronological order.  I can deal with, even if he did find much more difficult shots, but I wasn't about to try to rename one of them and have to recreate a link to the new.

Now, I can't repeat an any of them because it appears in Lightroom that all photos are back on the C drive and as a result, the new pictures that I placed on the D drive aren't there, and nothing is re-issued, period, not even those who was originally on my C drive!

I have never been so aggravated in my life.  I you LOVE features of Lightroom.  I have version 2.3.  When I search on the help online, all I get is how the photos are in some place they have been saved, but they are linked, etc..  I already know that part.  I seriously wish that I had NEVER looked at my backup files.  I don't think I'll bother backing up stuff more because apparently looking at the backup mess up everything.

I fully expected that I would be able to go back, choose my folders on my D drive and have all my current pictures available.  Unfortunately, not.

My user name should be FREAKED OUT!

Great, now go open recent (in the folder) and open the catalog from the other and see if you get them all connected.

  • Background app colors are more uniform

Since the upgrade of the Sierra, web pages Chrome and the code editor backgrounds Atom are messy. For example, in the atom, it seems that I've highlighted throughout the text, part of the background is dark and some of it is lighter. In Chrome, bluish grey background of Facebook will be uniform and then become clearer on the sides abruptly. This sudden change happens on other colors, which actually look as if I chose the parts of the page with my cursor. Basically the uniform color of the origins on some Web pages or applications (Atom and Chrome) are more uniform.

This substantive change only happens when I plug my HDMI cable on an external monitor. If I'm working on all of my macbook pro retina screen, everything seems fine. If I plug in my HDMI cable to an external monitor, the sets become non-uniform, even on the macbook pro (when mirroring) of the screen. I used the HDMI cable and the monitor with another computer and the problem does not exist, so I think it has something to do with macOS Sierra. Strangely enough, this problem only occurs with Atom and Chrome. Safari, for example, is absolutely perfect.

I've included screenshots to show what I mean.

    Hi tedmcdo,

Thanks for the upgrade to Mac OS Sierra! It seems like when you connect your external monitor to your Mac via HDMI, the Mac knows uniform color schemes. If this only happens when the external monitor is connected, you can try the reset NVRAM while it is disconnected from your Mac.

    What is NVRAM?

A small amount of memory on your computer called "non-volatile random - access memory" or NVRAM, stores certain settings in a location that OS X can access quickly. Settings that are stored in NVRAM are dependent on the type of Mac you use and the types of devices on it.

Information stored in the NVRAM may include:

    • The speaker volume
    • Screen resolution
    • Selection of boot drive
    • These latest panic the kernel, if applicable

If you encounter problems with these features, you may need to reset the NVRAM on your computer. For example, if your Mac starts up from a bootdisk other than that specified in startup disk preferences, or a question mark icon appears briefly at the start of your Mac.

How to reset the NVRAM on your Mac.

After resetting the NVRAM, please connect the screen and check if the problem is resolved. Alternatively, you can try to boot your Mac in safe mode.

    What is safe mode?

Safe mode (sometimes called secure boot) is a way to start up your Mac so that it performs certain checks and prevents certain software from loading automatically or opening. From your Mac in safe mode does the following:

    • Check your startup disk and attempts to fix problems if necessary directory
    • Loads needed kernel extensions only
    • Prevents elements start and the login items open automatically
    • Disables the user installed fonts
    • Delete font caches, hiding the kernel and other files of the system cache

Together, these changes can help resolve or isolate issues related to your startup disk.

Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning

Please use the Apple Support communities to post your question. These procedures should have your Mac showing its vibrant colors on the Retina display as expected. Good day.

  • My computer takes more time to put on than before. Why is this?

    Original title: slow system

My computer takes more time to put on than before. Is this because too many files on my computer?

Take a look in the system and Application logs in the errors and warnings event viewer and post here the copies. Do not post on that more than 48 hours ago.

You can access event viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel, administrative tools, and Event Viewer. When searching for the meaning of the error, information about the event ID, Source and Description are important.

A tip for posting copies of error reports! Run Event Viewer and double-click the error you want to copy. You will see a button resembling two pages. Click on the button and close Event Viewer. This places a copy of the report to your Clipboard. Paste it into the body of your message. Make sure that it is the first dough right out of the event viewer.

Try Ctrl + Alt + Delete, select Task Manager, and then click the performance tab. Under Commit Charge, which is the Total, limit, and the pic?

You should be able to gather more information from the Task Manager. Open the process tab, select View, Select, columns and check the boxes before maximum memory usage and virtual memory size. What are the figures for the 6 process using larger quantities?

Select Start, all programs, accessories, System Tools, cleaning disk to emptying your trash, delete temporary Internet files and other selected options. I recommend also you click Other Options, System Restore and delete all but the last system restore point. Run Disk Defragmenter.

Using the system restore option is most appropriate when your system is slow and you need to increase the free disk space on your C partition. If you have errors that could be solved by using the system restore to your system settings back to before the error occurred initially do not use this option.

If more than one person uses the computer and they have their own user log you need to run Disk Cleanup in each user profile that you want to delete all the unwanted files.

A better program of disk cleanup is cCleaner but note that cCleaner will not manage system restore points. Remove the old restore points can be important if you have little free disk space. cCleaner comes with a registry tool. Do not use this tool as any registry cleaner could lead to the creation of very difficult to resolve system errors.

System has been great from the GET go, there are more than 2 weeks. Never a failure to the no boot, no lock ups etc. Woke up in the middle of the night last week with cmptr attempt to restart. No new software or hardware installed had been. Nothing worked, quiet dampened.

From there on, I was not able to start Windows.

I entered the BIOS and tried to start a well known point... nothing. Always get blue screen. I have reset the CMOS on the mobo, removed the battery on the mobo and reinstalled. I unplugged the two hard drives power and SATA cables, bought a NEW (third) HD and installed, with only one new HD connected, with a full version of Windows Vista DVD in the CD/DVD drive, tried to boot Windows from scratch... still get the blue screen?

    Blue screen says:

I was able to run the memory test and it came back without errors. I was not able to get to "repair your computer", as the beginning is never far away. Once the bar then "fills" Blue Screen of Death!

It's EXTREMELY frustrating because it was built for me by an employee of INTEL (very smart read), all latest drivers etc. Very little software loaded on the system. Most of the aid that I read guess you can operate within Windows already... Catch 22! I can't!

    Cause

This bug check is issued if the memory paged (or invalid) is accessible when the IRQL is too high.

The error that usually generates this bug check occurs after the installation of the faulty device driver or service system, BIOS.

If you encounter a bug 0xA control during the upgrade to a later version of Windows, this error can be caused by a device driver, system service, an anti-virus or a backup tool that is not compatible with the new version.

    Solve the problem

If a kernel debugger is available, get a stack trace.

To resolve an error caused by the faulty device driver or service system, BIOS

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. Press F8 to character-based menu that displays the choice of operating system.
    3. In the Windows Advanced Options menu, select last known good Configuration . This option is most effective when a pilot or a service is added at a time.

To resolve an error caused by an incompatible device driver, system service, virus scanner, or backup tool

    1. Check the system log in Event Viewer for error messages that may identify the device or driver that caused the error.
    2. Try disabling the cache in memory of the BIOS.
    3. Run the diagnostics of equipment provided by the manufacturer of the system, in particular the scanner memory. For more information about these procedures, see the manual of your computer.
    4. Make sure that the latest Service Pack is installed.
    5. If your system has cards (SCSI) small computer system interface, contact the card manufacturer for updated Windows drivers. Try to disable sync negotiation in the SCSI BIOS, check the wiring and the SCSI ID of each device and confirming the proper termination.
    6. For devices (IDE) peripheral electronic integrated, set the built-in as only primary IDE port. Also, check each IDE device to the right setting master/slave/stand alone. Try to remove all IDE devices except for the hard drives.

Important info if you received a STOP Code

If you received a blue error screen, or a stop code, the computer stopped abruptly to protect against data loss. A hardware device, its driver or software might have caused this error. If your copy of Windows is shipped with your computer, contact your computer manufacturer. If you have purchased
Windows separately from your computer, Microsoft provides support. To find contact information for Microsoft or the manufacturer of your computer, Contact Support.

If you have experience with computers and try to recover from this error, follow the steps in the Microsoft article solution STOP (blue screen) errors in Windows.

These actions could prevent a mistake like this does not happen:

    1. Download and install updates for your computer from Windows Update device drivers.
    2. Scan your computer for computer viruses.
    3. Check your hard drive for errors.

    PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA parameters

The following settings are displayed on the blue screen.

    Parameter Description

    1

    The referenced memory address

    2

    0: Read operation

    1: Write operation

    3

Address that referenced memory (if known)

    4

    Reserved

If the driver responsible for the error can be identified, its name is printed on the blue screen and stored in memory location (PUNICODE_STRING) KiBugCheckDriver.

    Cause

Bug control 0 x 50 usually occurs after the installation of a faulty hardware or installation failure of material (usually associated with defective RAM, either main memory, L2 RAM or RAM video cache).

Another common cause is a defective system service installation.

Antivirus software can also trigger this error, as can a corrupted NTFS volume.

    Resolution

    Fix a defective hardware problem:
if the material has been added to the system recently, remove it to see if the error recurs. If the hardware failure existing, remove or replace the faulty component. You must run the diagnostics of material provided by the manufacturer of the system. For more information about these procedures, see the manual of your computer.

    Fix a defective system service:
disable the service and confirm that this resolves the error. If so, contact the manufacturer of the system service on a possible update. If the error occurs during the system startup, restart your computer, and then press F8 to menu mode characters that displays the choice of operating system. In the Windows Advanced Options menu that results, select the last known good Configuration option. This option is most effective when a pilot or a service is added at a time.

    A problem of antivirus software:
disable the program and confirm that this resolves the error. If this is the case, contact the manufacturer of the program about a possible update.

    Fix a corrupted NTFS volume:
run Chkdsk /f /r to detect and repair disk errors. You must reboot the system before the start of the analysis of disk on a system partition. If the SCSI hard disk, check the problems between the SCSI controller and the drive.

Finally, check the system log in Event Viewer for additional error messages that might help determine the device or driver that generated the error. Disable the cache in memory of the BIOS might also resolve it.

    Remarks

In general, this address is in the released memory or simply not valid.

This cannot be protected by a try - except Manager - it can only be protected by a probe.

  • Need help to fix a computer using the command prompt

So, my computer has suddenly crossed an escalation of alarming events, culminating with a very desperate, me trying to get information on the "Command Prompt". I don't know why, how, and it's all heart-wrenching. If someone has an idea of what could be done to fix it, I'd certainly eternally grateful to them. I will try to be as detailed as possible, so I don't miss information that might be useful for someone who know how to use.

I have an Acer Aspire V5 - 573G, running under Windows 8 64-bit with a 12G RAM, about 1 year and a half old, and this is the story of his unexpected collapse.

3 days ago the computer suddenly began to show extreme problems with the help of any program. I had let him sleep for a few hours, and when I came back all started running very slowly.
At the beginning I'm not too worried about I have mostly ran programs dependent on Internet and thought it was a simple connection problem. I have conducted a malware check (which I use quite regularly anyway) and downloaded Avast to see if he could detect all viruses, but everything was fine.

However, after that them stopping and turning back on the morning, things only seem to be deteriorating. I was not using my computer much at all, but after the second day of the fight with all that I realized that in Task Manager, something was really wide, and the drive was 100% use even when nothing was running.
Usually, after a few minutes it would go back down to 1-2%, but as soon as I ran whatever it is, even simply open Control Panel, happen very quickly to 100 times (sometimes the Task Manager was sufficient to make this happen).

I removed Avast and tried to delete the process when I made sure it was safe to do so, but it did not work. I tried after tutorials on the Internet for people who reported similar problems, which led me on a desperate journey funny through Windows Defender removal, an (unnecessary) extreme increase virtual memory (which I brought to the standard after that report maybe just made even slower computer), something to change the parameters of High-Performance mode so that the Hard Drive would never turn off has tried to stop the search and indexing in my session, make a small altar to Turing... nothing worked.

I ran a chkdsk /f C: who found problems with indexing files / indexed and likely fixed, because when I ran simple verification once the computer has been again this topic found no problem. However, the situation was the same: essentially constant use of the disk of 100% and no way out.
A sad moment, after hours of attempts, I stopped by mistake the wrong process, explorer.exe. I restarted the computer, and then the problem was still there, at least explorer.exeseemed fine.

However, when a few minutes later, I rebooted the computer, even once, I couldn't access the desktop more and I found myself in a loop of reboot attempt that has nothing, attempted to retrieve an earlier version of the system but nothing happened.

The only thing I can do is access chkdsk to see what the problem is, but I'm not sure that I could see a way out of this, even if there was a. The only thing that seems clear is that there is a lot of damaged clusters, that he can't solve.
This morning I ran 2 other chkdsk /f c:, the results by saying that there was no problem and no further action was required.
So I ran a C: /R, and once again he told me that there are some clusters damaged in this file.

Is there something I can do? Someone has an idea of what could have happened?
My idea was to wait for it to perform this check, run a chkdsk /f /r c: and see how it goes if I restart it, but I could really use advice from more experienced and skilled people.

The computer has not received any physical damage, not even in the relatively distant past of her young life. Before he started having all these problems he did nothing particularly requiring either, just running a few innocent Assassins Creed II (with 11.9 available RAM for what I remember stats and a Nvidia GeForce GT 750 M, I think not that it should have been a source of so much distress). This is the first time it gives me problems.

Also, I apologize if any information was unclear or confused, but not only am I a tragedy with computers, I also use a computer in a different language and a few technical terms could have been translated a little too big. If someone needs more information, I can do my best to give it.
