Help running SimCity 4 on W7 64 bit pc / cursor problems
Hi all - I have a brand new custom HP 450 t. Intel CPU quad core i 870 and 2BG GPU Radeon HD 5570. 8 GB of ram.
I'm a * die hard * SimCity 4 players and you have installed the disk 1 and 2 on my machine without problem. During my 1st game play, the cursor passed its form of arrow normal to a line about an inch long, smooth on one side and rigid, model triangle on the other. All the features of the mouse has stopped at this stage. The cursor is then in a square, about an inch in size with pixels of colors of the Rainbow and still not the possibility to click or select anything. The task manager has been the only way for me to close the game.
I ran SC4 on our house built 8 years without ever a problem (XPpro) pc. Even for a short time, I start the game on my Vaio laptop, with the only question being incredible RAM consumption resulting in the gameplay being too slow to even bother.
But I've never seen this kind of problem before. I have not yet tried. After reading online compatilbility issues possible between SC4 and W764bit, I'm not sure how to proceed. Yes, I know Microsoft site advises that SC4 IS compatible. But I really think that if this was the case, so many hundreds of users would not be have reported problems on this forum as well as others.
Any advice on the question of whether I should even bother, stuff, tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!!!

I'm playing the game "Railroad Tycoon 2-Gold edition" on my laptop which is running Windows 7. Whenever I try to install it, he repeats to me - "the program or feature? \G:\_setup\setup.exe cannot start or run due to incompatibility with 64-bit Windows versions"... .and there is nothing I can't do to go around that at all. Normally with my old games I can at least install, then just then change to be compatible and is not, but I can not here. Any help would be great I want to play this game, it's one of my favorites and I hate how I can't play everything simply because computers are better than them... If this is the case, then they should still be able to support games that are 10 + years older than them, you know? I can add more information if needed, thank you.
You must contact the manufacturer to see if they have a patch for Windows 7. He would come by the manufacturer and not by Microsoft.
Thank you

With the help of VISA with Windows 7 64-bit resource control
Hello.
My company has recently upgraded our laptops, and I now work on Windows 7 64 bit rather than Windows XP 32 - bit. I reinstalled a bunch of basic LabVIEW 2009, hoping that the 64-bit Windows 7 operating system would be able to handle 32-bit LabVIEW 2009 without problems. But trying to run our test system, the control of VISA resources does not work.
We use it to get a list of the COM (RS232) ports on the computer. But the list is now empty. The only option that appears in the list, is the text "Refresh." But nothing happens when I press it. Is this a bug in LabVIEW? I installed the latest patch that I found, so now I'm under LabVIEW v9.0f3 (32 bit).
Many thanks for any help!
LabVIEW SP1 has an x 64 native installer. I'm running very well with drivers 64-bit on this disc. I think that the later will have something to do with your problem. See the com ports in MAX?

8024A 000 error code when you try to run Windows Update on Vista 32-bit
I get the above error when you try to run Windows Update on Vista 32 bit.
I use an Asus laptop and have used the Asus recovery cd.I just replaced the old HD (500 gb) as it failed with a 750 GB HD.I tried the SP1 upgrade to SP2 and this causes a "catastrophic failure".Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thank youSamThanks for the support. I got the Asus machine this morning and they have corrected the problem in a few minutes by running a short script. In my view, that it is a common problem with Asus and Western Digital HD. Anyway congratulations to Asus. Here, after the service is impressive.

Pentium 4 running software that requires a 64-bit, etc.. Is this possible?
I have a Pentium 4:
992.9 > MiB memory.
> (2) 3.o GHz CPU;
> 21.4 available disk space (with Linux installed, which I could not remove).
I want to run the software requiring:
> XP (64 - bit compatible) (told me that the computer would go very slowly if I used something other than XP)
> Minimum 512 MB RAM (1 GB or more recommended)
> 600 MB of available space required for the software and user manual.
> 2 GB of additional disk space is required for all VST sounds / to THE included with the 2012 finals. My computer is able to do this with Windows XP 64-bit? I was planning on buying a copy of XP Professional on unused Amazon sold at retail. I am computer illiterate with the exception of the use of software - is similar to driving a car and not knowing really what as a clutch.
Thank you very much! You don't want Windows XP 64-bit. He has never supported with software and drivers, stick with 32-bit Windows. But in all cases, your processor is not compatible with the 64-bit software.

Open Control Panel > uninstall a program > turn Windows features on or off > scroll multimedia features > uncheck the box against Windows Media Center > follow the instructions on the screen > Reboot > open again to turn Windows features on or off in the control panel > scroll multimedia features > check the box against Windows Media Center.

Far Cry installation on 64 bit Vista machine problems
I have a 64 bit vista (SP1) computer. I have "Far Cry". I have a lot of speed, memory, and all that. When I start the installation process, I get the error "run setup32.exe on windows 32-bit or setup64.exe on 64-bit windows!". There is no "setup64.exe' on the disk. I tried to run in compatibility mode XP but that does not make a difference. I was on the site of the manufacturers and they seem to be something that corresponds to this topic. Any suggestion would be appreciated.
Thank you
DJHello
The error, run setup32.exe on 32-bit windows, or setup64.exe on 64-bit windows is because the setup .exe is does not correspond with the vista 64-bit operating system.
No doubt during the installation of the game, he must use the file setup32.exe.
I suggest you search the setup64.exe the disk file.
If you are not able to find, then suggests to replace the disk. There are several sites and it is for the manufacturer.

I've had my laptop for a year, and it is currently running Windows 7 Professional. I recently had a problem that causes the black screen randomly with the screen turned on (I mean everything is black and I can't see a thing, but can still see the light of the LCD screen). This often happens when I open/close a window, browsers web example, the records, or even during the boot. I want to know how to solve this problem and if the upgrade to Windows 10 works for her.
Hi Haolin,
Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.
I do not understand that the screen goes black randomly, and I'll be happy to answer your query. Let me ask you;
- What is the brand and model of the computer?
- Remember to no particular change in the computer before the show?
- When was the last time it worked?
Video card problems are the most common cause of this problem.
Try the following troubleshooting procedures in the order. If the steps described in the first procedure does not resolve the problem, continue to the next procedure.
Step 1: Reinstall your video driver
Right click on the bar tasks and then click Start Task Manager.
Click on the processes tab, click explorer.exe, and then click end process.
Click file, and then click new task (run).
In the text box open, type explorer.exe, and then click OK.
- Click on the Start button , go into the Device Manager in the start search box, and then, in the search results, click on the peripheral Manager.
Double-click on display the cards, right click the display device, click Update driver software, and then follow the steps in the wizard that appears. You can also visit the website of the manufacturer of the computer support and install the latest available graphics cards for the same model of computer you have.
Note: After the driver is re-installed, you may need to restart your computer to complete the installation. You may also need to adjust the resolution of the display to its previous value. For more information, see change your screen resolution.
Step 2: Search for registry problems
Right click on the bar tasks and then click Start Task Manager.
Click on the processes tab, click explorer.exe, and then click end process.
Click fileand then click new task (run)
In the text box open, type explorer.exe, and then click OK.
- Click on the Start button , type regedit in the search box, and then, in the search results, click on regedit.exe.
Navigate to the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Click to select the WinLogon key and then in the right pane, click on Shell. The value of shell in the data column must be explorer.exe. If the value of Shell is not explorer.exe, double-click Shell, and then, in the value data text box, type explorer.exe, and then click OK.
Close the registry editor and restart your PC.
Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: How to back up and restore the registry in Windows
If this procedure resolves the issue, you are finished. If this is not the case, proceed to the next set of steps.
Step 3: Start the computer in safe mode and run system restore
- Click on the Start button , click the arrow next to Shut Down, and then click restart.
Do one of the following:
If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then stop and restart your computer.
If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to select the operating system you want to start in safe mode, and then press F8.
In the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode, and then press enter.
Log your computer with a user account with administrator rights. When your computer is in safe mode, you will see marked Safe Mode in the corners of your screen.
- Click on the Start button , type "System Restore" in the search box, click System Restore, and then click Next. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Choose a restore point when your PC worked as expected, click Next, and then click Finish.
Restart your computer normally.
Important: When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed after this date are deleted.
If these steps resolve the issue, you are finished. If not, try to repeat the steps and chooses an older restore point (if available). If that does not resolve the problem, contact your computer manufacturer or the technical support for further assistance.

How to solve this? I started having problems when I have updated the BIOS on my motherboard. When I installed the motherboard at the start, I think I used the incorrect installation disc (my son has same brand motherboard but the sound is more advanced).
