  My laptop Toshiba Satellite L670-BT2N25, running Windows 7 message "System error" on a cooling problem, advising the immediate closure and return for service.  It seems to come on 10 to 20 minutes after coming out of hibernation or restart.   Shut down the laptop.  Tap away at the esc you key start Notepad to open the Start Menu.  Select the BIOS (usually f10) and under the Advanced or the Diagnostic tab, you will find the possibility to run tests on the hard drive and memory.  Post back with the details of any error message.

  Note:  If the option to run these tests is not available in the Bios Menu, use the menu diagnosis f2 .

  You can also publish returns with the following details.

  1. the full model number and your cell phone Nr - see here for a guide to the location of such information.

  2 the full version of the operating system that you use (IE Windows 8 64-bit etc.).

  As you say you have checked with the AC adapter. Then, perform the following steps. Unplug the power supply AC to prevail NB and also the battery. Then press and hold the power button for a minute without electric power supply and ac adapter. Then connect the battery and the AC adapter and then try to turn on.

  If still desnt work, remove the memory glue at the back of the NB after cut off the power supply and the battery. Then press on and press and hold power for 120 seconds and then replace the memory sticks in the NB and connect the power supply and the battery and then check.

  If is still running is not on the computer could be a problem of Hardwaer. Contact HP or if you have coverage with any store get in touch with them.

  HI - my daughter went on a charity site and since then, AVG Free reports the virus "win32/DH. FF840283' as being resident on the computer and the screen keys F6 and F7 light has stopped working. AVG continues to report warnings of virus being resident in this utility and screen brightness keys continue to not work. I tried restoring the system (in safe mode) which fixed the problem temporarily, but the virus came back. I tried to reinstall the hot key utilities and put the rogue named file in AVG admitted of exceptions. Again, F6 and F7 worked for a while and then stopped with the warning of viruses yet to come.
