Help! Windows Mail is frozen by entering large file!

I've not being updated again to Windows 7, so it is a problem of Windows Vista Mail:

I obviously have a VERY large file sent to one of my email accounts via Windows Mail.  He is sitting there to download for hours, days without success, so when I finally hit "stop" button to stop this hot mess it froze now "finished cuurent message".

I went to my webmail to delete the email guilty, rebooted the computer & it always goes back to this original attempt to download.  Is there a way to pass or remove it, so it can move on the download of my other emails?  Now, it blocks the rest for 3 days.  Suggestions?

Delete to your Webmail should have worked. Here is another option.

Create a Message rule:

Where the message size is size
Delete server
Click on size and place about 1 MB.

Return to the Inbox, and then click send/receive. This should get rid of the message.

Don't forget to go back to the rules of Message and either delete the rule, or uncheck it if you use it in the future.

  • Why my Windows Mail is unable to receive large attachments?

    Hi all

I recently started reading manuscripts of book to a literary agents, which means I get large Word documents and attachments. But some of them are not having transmitted my webmail (I have a btinternet email address).

What happens here? I guess it must be because the attachments are too big?

What can I do to help my Windows Mail with large attachments? I need to receive my work!

Thank you very much in advance for any advice.

    Miriam (TeaAndChoc)

Windows Mail has no limit, no limit's service provider that manages your email routing.  In this case, the BT Internet company is the cause of the block.

You can ask them if they can allow attachments more bulky (I doubt they will), or you can use another service which has larger limits, like Microsoft Outlook.com E-mail or Google Gmail.

  • Windows Mail in the area too large font

I reformatted my computer.  When I have my settings, somehow, I changed the font of my windows mail.  All messages are too long in all of my folders, not real email.  I did it at home in Windows mail and I accidentally made to work in Outlook. I don't know how to change the font to the default size. I've tried everything under the format and options and tools.  Can anyone help please?

Go to tools | Options | Read | Fonts and check that the font size is set to medium.  Also when display a message, select Show. Text size and see if it is set to medium.

    Hello
I'm so frustrated, this problem has arisen at a very bad time!

I started to use Windows Mail a few months ago and have had no problems so far, since Thursday night, every time that I attach a file to an e-mail message when I click on send this message 'some files was not found and could not be attached to the message. You want to send the message anyway? "I am running Windows Vista Home Basic Edition.

    Thank you

    Hello

    Method 1:
You can perform the steps of troubleshooting from the link:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/troubleshoot-problems-with-Windows-Mail

    Method 2:
You can check if the default e-mail program is selected, follow the steps to do this:
    a. go to: Control Panel and go to default programs. Select Configure programs and Computer Defaults b. Select continues if the permissions window will appear
    c. left, double-click Custom, under Choose a default e-mail program, select Windows Mail.
    d. click Ok and close.

    Method 3:
If none of the above steps are useful, then try to perform the system restore to the date when it was working fine.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/what-is-system-restore

NOTE: System Restore does not affect personal files, such as e-mail, documents, or photos, so it cannot help you restore a deleted file. If you have backups of your files, you can restore files from a backup.

    Method 4:
If the file you are trying to download is opened, then it will not download, you can close the file completely and then try to download.

  • Windows crashes when you create a large file DVD

Windows 7 crashes when copying large files on the internal DVD drive.  Working also on a typically about 600 KB/sec transfer rate.  Takes forever.  Usually, if there is only a single file, it will copy.  If there are multiple files, it just hangs.  No error message.  Just hangs.

  • Email disappears in Windows Mail

Two questions developed with my Windows Mail program the other day.  First of all, when I open the program, I noticed the mail in my Inbox appears in bold, even though it has been read previously. Secondly, when I open the program, the mail in my Inbox which previously loaded will disappear if I close and reopen the program, or if I open one of the folders of mail and return to the Inbox.  If I transfer an email to another folder, it is safe. But if I leave it in the Inbox, it will disappear.  I'm not under McAfee like talking about some of the previous answers, and I did not install new programs.  This has been completely "out of the blue", a few days ago.  No other settings have been changed? Help, please, if you can. Thank you.

    Hello Alane2,

Thank you for using the Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.

You can have setup an option to hide read messages.

In your main toolbar of Windows Mail

View > current view > Hide read messages

    Change to show all

Also, I saw other posts with the same problem occurring.  They have removed that particular e-mail account.  Then closed Windows Mail and Windows Mail to reopen, re-enter the same account with all its information as before.  Many post indicated that brought mail that had disappeared.  Please let me know if this helps or if you're still having problems. • Windows Help window keeps popping up

No apparent reason, the Windows Help window is open without asking whenever I try to enter the information in Word, the e-mail program, etc..  It is very difficult to use these programs (I basically have to close the Help window after each keystroke to enter the following key sequence).  I can't find any help in the documentation of Windows Vista.  Please help me solve this problem!

    I finally found a solution!

You can completely disable Windows XP search for a single user.  If you just want to do it for the current user, follow these steps:

    ===========
    1. Select run from the start menu.
    2. Type "cmd" and press ENTER.
    3. Type "reg Export HKU backup.reg" and press ENTER.
    4. Type "reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer /v NoFind /t REG_DWORD /d 1" and press ENTER.
    5. closure of the session and log in.
    ===========

You'll notice that you can't find any options to search anywhere in Windows, after you follow these steps.  However, it is only good for the current user.  If you want to do this for each user, you must follow these steps for each user listed in the hive HKEY_USERS (include. BY DEFAULT).  You can find these users by typing "reg Query HKU" and pressing Enter.  You can ignore all of the Scriptures that end in '_Classes', but for each other, replace "HKCU" in step 4 with 'HKU\ '. By DEFAULT' (replace. By DEFAULT, with the user, as required).

In this case, use the settings given here:

Use port 587 instead of port 25 of the SMTP server.

To give you a little history, Windows Mail does not support the HTTP messaging, which for a long time was the only authorized method of access for free Hotmail/MSN accounts. In addition, given that the development of Windows Mail was frozen in July 2006, there no knowledge that Microsoft has enabled POP access for free Hotmail/Live/MSN accounts in February 2009. Therefore, the Windows Mail Account Setup Wizard is hardcoded to reject the Hotmail and MSN addresses. To work around this limitation, when you enter your Hotmail/MSN email address, initially, use a fake domain, such as * address email is removed from the privacy *. After the account setup is complete, you can go back into the settings and correct your email address.

  • Can not save attachments in Windows Mail in Vista Local folders or subfolders

I have a new Vista 64 system and I have actually two problems.  First of all, I can't move old emails (more 2 G total) of my XP Outlook Express email on my old laptop in Vista 64 - bit Windows Mail on my new desktop.  Files folders and the content may be downloaded, but have not been recognized and installed by Win. Mail.  I talked to several computer technicians who could not find a solution except either to send the emails from old files individually or as a group to myself to my server (Yahoo more).  Is there a better solution?  Secondly, when I send my self a such email with multiple attachments and I try to save, I can't find a thread that will lead to my Windows Mail > local folders > Inbox >(folders and sub-folders).  Nor can I drag-and - drop these saved emails (they contain many different endings) to these files. Help, please.

    Hello Mmmaltby,

Thank you for using Microsoft Vista answers Forum!

A common method to transfer everything via is to use the Export command in Outlook Express to save all messages and contacts to separate files, copy them to the Vista PC and then use the option import (on the file menu) to import the data into Windows Mail.

If please reply and let us know if your problem is resolved or if you need more help

  • Windows XP stops responding during defragmentation of files larger than 2 gigabytes.

This is a really annoying problem and can affect others out there. I have two new XP Pro machines with processors dual core who have some great backup files and Virtual PC files. When I run the Defragmenter from windows or any Defragmenter also when large files are treated especially towards the end of a move of a file XP or, generally, Windows Explorer stops responding until the move is complete.

I can't access the start menu, the Manager of tasks or programs that are already running while moving large files is ongoing. I ran the defragmenter in safe mode and appears not to happen. I used MSconfig start in diagnostic conditions and could not reproduce the problem, but I seem to lose some of my starting points had to restore from a backup. Both computers are material different but similar software configs.

    Help, please

    concerning

    Tim

Well, I have increased my ram to 4 GB motherboards and the problem seems less obtuse with just a light gel or anything when the defragmentation of large files. I understand that the Windows API moves the files into 1 GB chunks using Defragmenter then maybe it wasn't adequate memory and xp was the pagination.

Not quite sure it's fixed, but it seems that Yes, so I increased the ram too in my other machine to 4 GB. I know only 3.25 is usable, but maybe the extra 1 GB makes the difference?

  • Windows Mail error, 'Message is not found' and emails are lost

    Problems with windows mail:
Click any message in a file and get the same opening
Move all messages from Inbox and show then all of the remaining messages in the folder "Message was not found.
Move folder and opening his new message displays the contents of another message
Usually messages are scrambled or lost - not sure
    Digitized and up-to-date anti-virus software
Able to send and receive fine, only problems with drag and drop/move messages to other folders
One variable that has changed is the compression of files, now off but still no change then trying to mvoe files open
Backup unnecessary because files corrupt/screwed up before backup

How do I return my emails?  How to get Windows Mail works correctly so I can trust him.  Unnecessary Microsoft for support - they want cash if it is a new machine, they say OEM should provide support, but OEM cannot be planned and referred me to Microsoft.
