Help with Captivate Quiz 9

I need to make a dropdown menu with one of the answers as a correct answer and the incorrect rest and include it in the ranking of results.  Did anyone done this before?  That's what I need - with 18 as response.  Captivate has come down to the bottom of the sequence and the drop corresponding but not just a simple old drop-down list.  Help!

drop_down.png

If you use fill in the void, using "drop-down list" instead of "User input"? It's the best way to get a drop-down list and since it is a question slide, will be marked automatically if the user chooses the good article.

I can explain a workflow with the interaction of the list drop-down, advanced actions and variables, but why make it complicated when easy is possible?

  • Help with Captivate Slide Focus - Double click

    First of all, I would like to say this being my first experience of Captivate - fix a bug.

    I have a slide (in fact, all of the slides in the CBT) with highlight 3 boxes (superior, middle section, the bottom section) in which the legends and the buttons are placed on top. All HBs are at the bottom of the timeline above the slide. When spotted in Captivate or publication into an LMS, it takes several mouse clicks to highlight and the buttons run. I tried to move deadlines autour, but nothing doesn't seem to eliminate the need to click somewhere on the slide to give focus first and then clicking on the second time on a button to activate it. Help, please! Thank you very much. Donna

    1. I would like to analyze the following functionality in one of my quizzes using Captivate 5.5 but do not know if it is possible, or how to do it.  Any ideas? I want someone once they have completed a questionnaire, if they got a few questions wrong I want to allow learners to take over these issues, that is, the questions they were wrong not the overall assessment.  If someone could tell me if this kind of functionality is possible and guide me to some places explaining how to do that would be very useful. • Small problem with Captivate 6 quiz...

    I wonder if someone could help me with this little problem with Captivate 6 quizes?

    I've set up a quiz and disable the playback bar to save screen space

    I turn off the button 'next' on the issues because it allows to the learner in order to bypass the unanswered questions (and does not trigger the incomplete caption)

    And so I rename the button submit to 'next' - and that's fine, but when the quiz is reviewed there is no 'next' button to navigate between issues

    I thought that I might be able to hide the real button following behind the submit button (labeled 'next'), but finds that it is not possible to change the stacking order of buttons issue

    So, how can I stop the learner without going through questions without answer AND allow navigation during the review of the quiz?

    Pointers gratefully received

    Simon

    Hide the next button (Skip) under the clear button.  When you add a quiz for the Clear key is usually on a higher default stacking order.  But if it isn't, just remove and replace the button 'Clear' and it will be over the next button.  Usually, removal and replacement of the buttons on the quiz questions are the only way to manipulate the stacking order.  It's a pain, but this is easily achievable.

  • Saba 7 don't watch not completed status with Captivate 6, 8, 9

    Hi all

    Faced with a question to Saba 7. Build courses Captivate may not get filled up on the main page of Saba. I tested with Captivate 6, 8 and 9 - it is the same everywhere. Saba 7 do not showing status "Completed" (column of the State of completion next to the Start button) with courses build in Captivate - he remains "not rated".

    Although the 'more actions' and then 'display the results by lesson"shows that the State is 'done' with Total attempts and retrieved the last.

    This means that the course is completed, it is not rolling to the top of the State.

    No tests, no score - just 5 pages and classes should be filled when 2 slides are visited. I used the settings below:

    Something wrong? Any code/patch/parameters must be introduced?

    If this is not fixed, then we will not be able to develop courses in combination with Saba7 Captivate.

    I need your help. Thank you.

    Take a look at this thread and see if it helps:

  • Mark reports with Captivate

    Hello-

    I am brand new to Captivate and systems of learning in general, and I was in charge of research on the training opportunities for a client. I'm not having any luck finding a basic guide on the use of the quiz in Captivate, so I hope that people here can guide me along or point me to the documentation.

    My goal is to use Captivate 5.0 or 5.5 to create a program in such a way that the user can open the program, select their role to display its training modules, and then select a module or just run in all the modules associated with this role.  I think they would end a module and be assessed, submit the score and then move to another module if you wish. These modules could be in a Captivate project or separate files, so they seem to be integrated to the user. Once they have gone through the training and assessment, their scores must be reported accurately identifies the user (probably a sort of logon) and does not allow them to change their score. These scores may be sent by e-mail to an administrator, sent to a website, or what you have. It would be awesome if we could see the score of each user for each module and the overall score for each user in a role (that is, a grouping of modules). I hope that there will be a solution simple enough that someone without much experience it can handle once it is implemented.

    Because of the scene at the beginning of this project, I do not know how many people would be trained with him--it could be anywhere from a few dozen trainees at once to a mile or two, and it would be great if I could present options (especially since I might have different clients using this with different scopes). In the same way, the budget is TBD.

    My questions:

    • Is it possible to average scores automatically through some quizzes, quizzes and classroom training groups?
    • Scores can be reported within the executable formation, so the user can take a quiz and then go to another section without having to reopen the case of training? Or send scores always means the end of the training? If this is the case, this can be avoided by calling different files with a quiz of each?
    • Overall, Captivate is set to manage what I'm looking for? Or maybe that's the wrong question and it depends on what LMS is used.
    • What is the difference between LMS types? I see this list of options in the preferences of Captivate (SCORM, Acrobat Connect Pro, Acrobat.com, server, e-mail...) but I'm just not find explanations of how these things are functionally different.
    • Recommendations on specific reporting solutions or software? I don't expect that there is an obvious answer with all the unknowns, but some suggestions for different fields of application and the price would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks much for any help you can provide.

    Captivate will only partially get you to your goals here.  For the rest of the puzzle, you will need a Learning Management System or LMS.  The user connects to this LMS (manually or through single sign - on) to identify themselves before accessing the training courses they need.

    Captivate allows you to create course content modules and put together them as a class. For integration with an LMS, you usually have the SCORM compliant course.

    You can create training based on roles with Captivate, but your users would very likely be selecting their learning based on roles by the LMS. In fact, in most cases the LMS is configured to identify users according to their role and show them only the links to courses that would apply to this role.

    The Captivate course reports simply marking and the completion of the data when the user finishes it.  Is the LMS that captures this data and saves it to generate reports.  The decision on which the user not following is also something usually determined by the business rules in the LMS.  Reporting and formatting features differ from one LMS to another.  If your LMS 'can be managed without a lot of experience"is a very subjective matter.  First book to what your real needs and then decide how much experience is required by the person who was driving this system.  From my experience, they must be very able to do correctly, even for a relatively weak organization. (You do not say how many people are involved, but since you speak of "thousands I guess that it is a medium to large business.")

    There are hundreds of LMS products on the market. If you want to start to learn about those who are good or bad, I recommend you subscribe to the blog of Craig Weiss: http://elearninfo247.com/

    Addressing your other questions one by one:

    • Is it possible to average scores automatically through some quizzes, quizzes and classroom training groups?
      STEM: This can be done by most of the LMS.
    • Scores can be reported within the executable formation, so the user can take a quiz and then go to another section without having to reopen the case of training? Or send scores always means the end of the training? If this is the case, this can be avoided by calling different files with a quiz of each?
      STEM: Your username normally will complete one module at a time and scoring for this module is then captured by the LMS.
    • Overall, Captivate is set to manage what I'm looking for? Or maybe that's the wrong question and it depends on what LMS is used.
      STEM: Captivate is a leading solution for the creation of training content.  You need both a tool for creating content as a learning management system to do what you describe here.
    • What is the difference between LMS types? I see this list of options in the preferences of Captivate (SCORM, Acrobat Connect Pro, Acrobat.com, server, e-mail...) but I'm just not find explanations of how these things are functionally different.
      STEM: These are different standards of integration.  SCORM is by far the most popular.  Most LMS will manage SCORM 1.2, but many do not support the latest version of 2004. Some will be also AICC.  Acrobat Connect Pro is based on the AICC, but also a little on its own.
    • Recommendations on specific reporting solutions or software? I don't expect that there is an obvious answer with all the unknowns, but some suggestions for different fields of application and the price would be greatly appreciated.
      STEM: My only suggestion is that you start to write all your needs, be VERY anal about all this and search solutions which are offered against your REAL needs.
  • Listen to submit even on Captivate quiz?

    We have a Flash SWF which integrates a Captivate quiz (also a SWF file). Currently, the parent SWF and SWF quiz don't really communicate with each other (other than the parent quiz loading). However, we would like to be able to invoke a function on the parent SWF when the user clicks on the button 'Submit' the quiz.

    My first thought was to have the quiz Captivate to call a custom function that lives in the parent. Unfortunately, it's not like I can call custom functions (other than JavaScript) to the quiz. So, my second thought was to have the parent SWF listening to an event may be thrown by the quiz. I can't find any documentation that leads me to believe that such an event is called on submit. Does anyone know if there is such an event and I was able to listen to than even from parent SWF? Thank you.

    I just put in place a variable in the captivate swf file called something like userSubmitted and set the initial value to 0.

    Then have the value changes to 1 when the user submits their response, perhaps enter the next slide or at the exit of the slide to submit.

    So it depends how you load the Captivate swf file in, I accept that something like that.

    container var = _root.createEmptyMovieClip ("container", 10);

    _root. Container.loadMovie ("Captivate.swf");

    This might work in this case:

    function checkSubmit(){
         var wasSubmitted = this.container.userSubmitted;
         if (wasSubmitted != null && wasSubmitted  ==1 ) {
              //Do what you wanted to do
         } else {
              //Keep listening
         }
    }

    //Does this make sense?

    //**Note: this is As2, but you can probably convert to As3 with something similar
    //***Note: If

    addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, checkSubmit);

    //doesn't work, then you might be able to run the check with a setInterval();

    I hope this helps a little

  • Adobe Captivate Quiz results - standings

    Hi all

    I was wondering if someone can help me with the captivate quiz feature.

    I created a questionnaire with a dozen questions, there is also a slide of results which works very well.

    What I need is the user to give a grade based on these results.

    For example. If you scored between 80 and 100% - you get an A

    Between 70-80% - you get a B

    and so on...

    This info will then be caught and put in a certificate widget so that users can print their results and their rank.

    Does anyone have an idea how I can take their final score and give them a note?

    Do you not use if statements or is there something easier?

    Any help would be great!

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi markrisp,

    You can view the note on the result slide after writing a small program in the 'Actions' dialog. You can try the following procedure.

    On the result slide Add 2 legends - Grade A, class B (attached Snap). In each of these legends, go to the 'Options' tab and uncheck the "Visible".

    Now, select project > Actions > Variables tab, add 3 variables (a, b, c with the initial value = 0). (Number of variables equals the number of ranks)

    Specify a name for the script in the action Advanced tab and use the following logic.

    If (cpInfoPercentage greater than or equal to 80)

    Start

    See the TextCaption ID (for the Grade A text caption)

    end

    or else

    Start

    a: = 1

    end

    Check if (a is equal to 1) and (cpInfoPercentage higher or equal to 70) and (CpInfoPercentage is less than 80)

    Begin

    display text Caption ID (Grade b text caption)

    end

    or else

    Start

    b: = 1

    end

    Check if (b is equal to 1), and (cpInfoPercentage is less than 70)

    Start

    See the TextCaption ID (for the Grade C text caption)

    end

    Or else

    Start

    c: = 0 / / this expression is redundant, but it should still be included in the Else can't be empty

    end

    Does this help, let me know

    Thank you

  • Captivate quiz 7

    I've implemented a multiple-choice in captivate quiz 7 and want to know if instead of the participant having to press the button send to receive the correct response or not, they can get this answer by selecting the option of response only, they just need to select a button like this?

    I tried to explain the question slide design at length in these two blog posts:

    Question Question slides in Captivate - Captivate blog

    Question Question slides - part 2 - Captivate blog

    You'll find a way to skip a step of the submission process, but be careful: trainees tend to need time to confirm an answer. With your workflow, they will not be able to change their answer more, it will be passed and they will lose an attempt at the level of the question if they act too quickly. Not that user friendly IMO, but I got along the career of Professor.

  • HTML5/JavaScript (WebObject) Communication with Captivate 9

    Hello

    Me and my company I work for, trying now for 2 days how it can work... I hope someone can help me or we can do it together

    My goal is to have a file imported into HTML5 slide, with an animation created in Adobe Flash, which can for example jump to next slide. (To keep things simple for now )

    What I've done so far:

    1. I created a HTML5 Canvas in Adobe Flash CC. There, I created the animation I want to and he has published in a folder or a HTML5 project.

    2. I zipped it and it imported into Captivate, it works fairly well.

    3. I can click on it with a simple EventListener (which I have added Flash) via this.myMovieClip.addEventListener ("click", fl_MouseClickHandler.bind (this)); in Captivate. It works well!

    4. now, I wanted to add the ability to click on it and go to the next slide in the JavaScript code that is created when I publish the Flash file. Given that HTML5 and ActionScript3 does not have the same syntax, I wonder how its possible...

    In AS3, I could spend (to access the Captivate:)

    var myRoot:MovieClip = MovieClip (root);

    var mainmov:MovieClip = MovieClip (myRoot.parent.root);

    And that's pretty much the problem... I do not know how to let JavaScript communicate with Captivate when I import the HTML5 files...

    I tried through 'window. ... ', 'this.parent. ... "and a few other ideas that didn't work.

    I have a basic understanding of JavaScript, but can not understand by myself...

    Thx for the help. (Or ideas I can try)!

    window.parent.window.cpAPIInterface.next ();

  • Problem with Captivate 8 and SumTotal learning LMS Maestro-

    I get white screen when lance course published under the title of SCORM 2004 using Captivate 8.  All the publication settings are identical to those used with Captivate 7 and all classes of properties and parameters are the same in the LMS as course published using Captivate 7. At the launch of course, instead of the opening of the route screen, a white frame appears showing the playback bar course and LMS navigation bar. Logon screen does not appear until the user clicks on the button play on the PlayBar. No idea why this is happening?  Here is a screenshot of the white frame.

  • With Captivate CS6, I can't change the value of the variable personalized with AS3

    Hi all

    I did a program in AS3 flash to get the values to an XML file and put values in the custom variable to Captivate. While I was with captivate 5.

    I used something like that;

    var movie_captivate = this.parent.parent.getChildAt (0);

    movie_captivate ['customvariable1'] = 'test ';

    I've never had a problem.

    Since 2 weeks I use Captivate Cs6, I test my program and it does not work.

    I checked with a debug flash with my swf with captivate 5, I see my custom variable and its value and a witch of SuspendVarsArr table contains the name of the custom variable.

    But with with captivate swf 6, I see only a witch of SuspendVarsArr table contains the name of the custom variable but I don't see variable custom name and value.

    Can someone tell me where the captivate CS6, it is not possible to read and write a custom variable of captivate. Or if it is possible, what can I do to make it work.

    Thank you for your help

    Xavier

    Try to access that manage variables like this:

    captivateVariables = Object(parent.parent).getMovieProps().variablesHandle;

    Looks like you need to convert the display for an object objects container before you can access the call of getMovieProps()...

    You can download the .fla and .swf animation that I used for the test: http://captivatedev.com/demo/Cp6/SlideNumberAnimation.zip

    Start by removing all the code the suggested by maqro (i.e. as3) and by removing all the code attached to objects.
