Help XBox Music App

Where can I get information on how to use the app XBox music? I can not clear the list is on-air.

Hey Joe,

If you play a different song, album, or playlist, it will clear your existing Now Playing and replace it with the new songs you play. It's not a way to clean the current playback without playing something else.

If you want to play a different song, album, or playlist and * not * to reset the existing Now Playing, you can use the button 'add to Now Playing. This will add songs at the end of your current playing list.

Hope that helps!
Scott

  • XBox Music app is not read the labels of the song of library on network

So I have my library of music stored on a file server.  I'm also on a Windows domain.  I added the location of the music to the area of music under library on my PC in Windows 8.  However, when I load the Xbox Music application, all my songs appear as unknown artist / unknown album.  It does not simply read the file tags.

With a different music, such as Windows Media Player or Zune, these two programs player read the MP3 tags very well.

I copied an album in the My Music folder on my HDD, and then the Xbox music app seems to recognize the tags very well.  However, I owe much music to record on my local computer.  In addition, I prefer to keep on file for all server copy to a local drive is not an option.

Thus, music Xbox seems to have a problem with the playback of MP3 tags on a local network or domain.

Does anyone have a solution to this?  Or is there anyone he works with a similar network set up?  I even disabled the firewall.

    Thanks for the help.

    Hello

I understand that you are facing problems with the musical application of Xbox and I also see that you have tried the troubleshooting following this thread.

Follow a few troubleshooting steps and check if that helps.

    Method 1:
    Licenses of app Sync
If a license for an application is not synchronized with the license installed on your PC, the application may stop working.

To synchronize your licenses app, follow these steps:

    1. On the start screen, click on store to open the Windows store.

    2. Drag from the right edge of the screen, and then click settings.

    3. Click App updates.

    4. Click on Sync licenses.

    Method 2:
Check if the application is blocked by Windows Firewall.
By default, some applications are blocked by Windows Firewall in order to make your PC more secure. To work properly, you may need to allow an app to receive information through the firewall. For more information, see the section "Allow an app to receive information through the firewall" Windows Firewall from end to end.

Let us know if it helps. If the problem persists, we will be happy to help you.

  • Where the 'Xbox Music' app saves new files playlist?

I have just upgraded to Windows 8 and started using the app Xbox Music.  In the past, I used a combination of Windows Media Player and Zune, who both recorded reading lists in the playlist folder in my default music folder.

I made the playlist in music from Xbox app and made him I couldn't easily sort the songs (in this case, sort them alphabetically).  I had planned to see if the file opens in Windows Media Player, where I could put things in order and copy it to a new playlist.  However, I couldn't find the playlist created Xbox Music.

    Hello

An application is like a container that gets a dedicated space on the disk hard and not is not accessible from the outside. However, an application can store data outside this container if necessary as when you want to export a playlist of music from xbox App. Unfortunately this app does not have such a feature, see next post.

  • How to make the Xbox Music app to keep playing when switching away from him?

OK, it MUST be a setting but I can't. But I open the music application, start to play music, click on the start page to start using Explorer or something and the music stops playing, or going so low you can't hear it (even if the volume is up) and when you switch to the app music stops all together. This is not the expected behavior, playing music background on a pc is pretty much needed!

Thanks for your suggestions, I like the music app, but I need to be able to 'multitasking' when im listening to music.
    Sean

I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to answer for those who have the same problem.

Indeed, this problem is solved by changing a setting.

    1. go on the desktop

    2. open the acoustic Panel

    3. click on your primary input device

    4. in the settings window, go to the Advanced tab

    5. uncheck the 'allow applications to take exclusive control of this device.

Hope this has helped you and everyone else with the same problem.

  • Impossible to update the music app with the error 'cannot play... '. Error is C00D11CD (8004b82e).

I have another solution! for 0xc00d11cd (0x80004005) error when you try to play a song.

The problem is not on xbox music app, the problem is where does xbox music takes the information:

MUSIC LIBRARY, according to me, is a bug related to the cloud sync, so I deleted all the local music located on the cloud.

(Recommendation: move your music to a different folder)

    1. just go file browser

    2. right click on the left panel (where the file system tree is displayed)

    3. Select Show library (just in case where that is not displayed)

4 remove the old music library (it's just a library, it will not delete your music)

    5. right click on libraries

    6. Select this option to restore the default libraries

    7. open the music library

8 Add the folder where you want your music (moves first in an internal folder as a suggestion)

    9. open xbox music

To add all your music again.

The error appears because the xbox music cannot find the path to your music. In my case, the library has been altered, and he couldn't access it.

I hope that helps you as it did with me.

Here is my experience with this problem:

I was unable to broadcast from these Windows 8 apps: XBOX, Netflix, Hulu and XBOX Music video.

I don't think it was the video drivers because it was also ruin the music app , but it was the video drivers. I laughed heartily after I fixed the first problem when I broadcast a song and a great video ad full screen has started playing. That's why I think that Moshen Kamalzadeh became only the accident sometimes, because the announcement does not play every time.

    I've BEEN using:

AMD Catalyst 12.6 Legacy Driver for Windows 8

I solved this problem (and probably caused more problems I'll know later) by uninstalling these drivers and will allllllllll the way back to 11.10

  • Windows 8 Xbox and Windows Media Player music app

I think it happened when I upgraded to Windows 7 to 8.  Some of my old purchased music appears in the music app Xbox but can only be streamed. How can I get that back in Windows Media Player if I can do things with him (i.e. sync on my phone)?

    Hello

To regain the rights to the files, contact the provider of the files. Some online stores offer this and likely to call it activation of the computer, computer authorization, library restoration, synchronization license or something similar.

How to restore your digital rights varies from one store to the other. A store might limit the number of times that you can restore your rights, or it can limit the number of computers on which you can use the songs or videos that you got on their part. Some stores allow to restore the rights on all protected files.

For more information on the store's policies, refer to support customer or the info on the help of your store. If you got your music or videos in a store that is no longer in business, you will not be able to restore your rights in this content.

    It will be useful.

  • Xbox music & podcasts

I know that pre-installed Microsoft the Zune software on Windows 8 and divided in 3 usability (Xbox Music, Xbox and Windows Phone application) video, but the music app for Windows 8 Xbox does not support podcasts, or is it a library podcast in the Windows libraries. I know that you can just download the Zune via Xbox.com software (and I have), but I want to switch to Windows Phone 8 (in addition to the absence of F.M. Radio, this is my biggest problem).

There is no native Podcast in Xbox Music for Windows 8, there is one for Windows Phone 8 (someone I know has one, I compared it to my computer Windows 8), I listen to podcasts for 50% of my free time to them and my Windows Phone 7 is a great support using Zune, but I have a costume much Podcasts things you don't think simply in the music store on the Xbox.

I want to go completely through the Zune in the (phone) 8 ecosystem windows software, but music Xbox does not support podcasts, or I can easily switch between Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8.

I confess that I miss more things on Windows XP Outlook Express and Movie Maker was delivered, they are no longer supplied, and I missed their functionality until a friend told me about the Windows Essentials, software that I used all the days before. Windows Media Center has been present on 7, but I can't find it on Windows 8 or the other. Where are the Podcasts on Xbox Music and will they be there in the future?
