Hi Eric@SoftwareAG,
We are sorry for the inconvenience that you have been facing. What Adobe CS3 product you are trying to activate? Do you have a retail or volume license software. See the article: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-serial-number-valid-product.html.

I installed a clean copy of xp pro 3 times today. Whenever I restart, after installation of sp2, that it crashes before it happens even to the Welcome screen. Please help, I need my conputer for work... THX in advance, John
While not a real problem... have you tried to jump SP2 and just install SP3 after SP1? Your question seems to be quite common, and that is what most people seem to have ended up doing.

I hope it's because you just made a new installation of Windows XP?
Through these two articles:
- Steps to take before you install Windows XP Service Pack 3
- Windows XP SP3 - read all the prerequisites for a successful installation
What I propose is the following...
- Go to this web page: How to reset the Windows Update components? and use the FixIt utility in aggressive mode.
- Reset.
- Download here all the SP3 Setup file: Windows XP Service Pack 3 Package of Network Installation for developers and information technology professionals and save it to the Office of the administrator of the user account on the computer in question.
- Reset.
- Double-click the installation file downloaded in step 3 and follow the instructions.

64-bit Vista will not install service pack 2
I'm running the 64 bit version of vista buisness. I tried to install service pack 2 using the automatic update, but it has not installed. I also tried the manual download. He gets to halfway done installing, then gives me an error 0x800f081f code. He told me to install the system update readiness tool. I tried to install it, but that no longer works. Not even done a selective sartup with everything disabled except for windows services works.
Hi relik_66,
I suggest that you check your system for corrupted files. You use the tool (SFC.exe) System File Checker to check and repair corrupt system files. To do this, follow these steps:
1. open an elevated command prompt. To do this, clickStart, click principally made programs, accessories, right-click Guest, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.
2. type the following command and press ENTER:
sfc/scannow
The sfc/scannow command. analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.
Thank you for using answers Forum. Please let us know how it works.
