    Hi LarryBullington,

    ·         You did it of any material changes or software on the computer before this problem?

    ·         Exactly when you receive the error message?

The TrayApp.msi file is associated with the HP Photosmart Digital Imaging software.

If you receive a popup of the message, I suggest to uninstall the HP Photosmart Digital Imaging software and reinstall it back.

Note: You can download HP software applications from the web site of the customer; or if the software was supplied with the computer, you can reinstall using the HP application recovery process.

  • Could not find an installation package for the product TrayApp. Try installation using a valid copy of the installation package for TrayApp.msi.

Yesterday I uninstall a program, the Zynga toolbar and which has not, I lost a google toolbar. I then tried to perform a restore, and that's when I started getting the TrayApp message. Also, I tried to do a restore on my external hard drive device, and that did not help either. The date on the external hard drive was 18/02/2011.

The google toolbar is active it is not displayed any longer.

  • Windows Installer turns on whenever I have start the machine, but could not be installed "TrayApp.msi" and ends up going forever.

I had removed several programs from my computer recently and should have removed a component that I shouldn't have.  When starting my computer, Windows Installer window lights up and starts trying to install "TrayApp.msi.  He cannot complete the it and the installation never ends.  This prevents me to install or to uninstall because it is running all the time.  I can't launch more restoration.  How can I disable Windows Installer or find what is simply this TrayAPP program.

If this is an HP computer, go to their website and download all the software for printing and imaging products you have.  See here:

  • TrayApp.msi missing

I recently replaced an older HP Photosmart printer with a Pro Officejet 8610.  Before you install the new printer, I went through the control panel and uninstalled all the HP software on my system.

Connected to the new printer and installed, it is software and everything works very well with regard to the printer; However, I get an error message when I boot by demanding that I re - install TrayApp.msi.

A bit of Googling suggests that this is related to some software (image/photo) that came with the old printer, if that's the case I don't have these disks, and that the software was supposedly completely removed.

I've seen solutions to get rid of this message that State re - install the software, but this isn't my current printer software so I don't want to do that.

I would like to know how completely remove some looking for this application, which I think is a... registry entry?

Any help greatly appreciated as the error message starting to get embarrassing now!

    Thank you.

    Hi Ged_B,

    Thank you for your answer!

Please use it, HP Officejet software and driver removal utility, instead of the L3, that it will not affect the new printing software at all.

Hope this helps you and have a great day!
