Here's a dooosy... On a SSD SSHD installation and mSATA with OP system

I bought two Alienware R4 computers laptops, they have 32 gigs of Ram installed.

I bought:

2 ~ 1 TB SSD 2.5 SATA drives and

2 ~ 1 TB SSHD 2.5 SATA drives and

I intend to add 1 TB mSATA for each computer and have 3TBs with 32 GB of Ram?

I have the disks all arriving Monday and need to know the following...

I think I can install 1 TB of SSD as boot with op on this drive system drive.

I believe it will slot HDD 0...

I also think that I am able to install SSHD 1 TB for slot 1 HDD and need to know what it takes to configure the bios for example, for a game as non-raid.

What should I do in the BIOS so that it works just like I expect?

Then in the configuration menu, how to configure the boot order and the type of HARD drive?

Then install windows 7 Alienware drive I then upgrade the drivers.

Then AFTER the OP system install... ONLY DURING THE INSTALLATION OF SYS OP SINGLE PLAYER.

Install the other two players the SSHD 1 TB and the 1 TB mSATA

How can I make as storage only then when inside of windows, I see three readers?

One of the parents to the computer and the other two as if they were external?

I want the master drive 1 TB SSD and the boot device.

Thanks for any help and please advise.

Mark

The R4 were a model in 2012, not 2011. Thus, the R3 has never had support mSATA, unlike the R4.

Here is the good Manual.

  • PC HP Compaq 8200 Elite CMT: Replacement of the SSD HARD drive and Recovery Options

I have a PC HP Compaq 8200 Elite CMT I went recently to drive HARD original for one SSD of 850 Evo from Samsung using Samsungs cloning/copying software. Everything went well and the PC is in use today. I do not see the partition D: Recovery on this machine more well, so I think this has not copied or was lost. I still have the disk that was replaced.

I was wondering if there is a way to replace HARD drive like this with an SSD and everything by keeping the system recovery feature that was on the HARD disk, and if a set of system recovery disks of before installing SSD would continue to operate, or if I need to create new ones, and if I CAN create new ones.

I did what you want to do (for example, to replace a disk with a DDI) and was able to retain the function of HP recovery - but it's because of two important facts.

First of all, I used a DDI with the same capacity as the original HARD disk.  This is important because if you use a smaller SDS, the HP recovery feature will no more work as a reset begins with reformatting the drive and recreate the original scores - which will fail if the disc is too small.

Second, I use Macrium Reflect product to 'clone' the HDD to the DDI, which means, he made an exact copy of the partitions on disk on the SDS.  So, when I swapped drives, the PC restarted without any problem.

People have posted here on the use of the software from Samsung, and they seem to have problems restarting after use and (apparently) with successful copy from disk HARD original in the new SDS.

    Help!

    Hi YouMaCry,

You have any records? or a USB recovery?

If you cannot install an OS on your SSHD your SSHD can be defective, because it is reading it is cluster/bad sectors. A defective HDD/SSD/SSHD can still be detected (sometimes even when it is defective).

To be sure contact Lenovo Support Center and ask them to send you your SSHD/unit in a get fully tested Lenovo the SSHD repair depot - and have defective parts repaired within a reasonable time!

install OEM HARD drive in secondary Bay

Install Win 7 (I don't have install disks - what is on the HARD drive in his backup partition)

    or I have to

go into the BIOS, and then assign him drive in AHCI (etc.)

    Install Win 7

    Hello:

Your BIOS is set to AHCI (or RAID) by default. It cannot be changed.  Look in your device manager and in the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers section, look to see if there is a controller SATA ACHI he.

If so, you have an AHCI BIOS default.

If you go further down the line in Device Manager and see a section of storage controllers, click on that, you would see a SATA RAID controller and your BIOS is set to default RAID.

I don't have your model laptop so I don't know if HP has implemented some models double disk RAID or AHCI.

So... First, copy your original C:\ drive SWSetup folder and save that to a portable hard drive. That must contain all the files installation for the drivers and the software provided with your PC. You can search this folder for programs that you may want to reinstall after your new SSD drive HARD primary.

To install W7 on your SSD, check your own install of W7 disc.  Here's how:

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

Can't answer your question on the dual boot as I never did before.

  • Adding additional SSD for dell xps 15 with 256 GB SSD

Hi, I just bought a dell xps 15 9550 with 6th gen i7, 8 GB of RAM, and 256 GB ssd. Is it possible to add an additional SSD for the location of hard disk 2.5 inches remaining. If possible do I need to buy the cable for SSD too or is that what cable already included here?

    Thanks in advance,

There is a support and a set of rubber bumper needed to connect a disk 2.5 "hard.  In general, these are not delivered with the system unless it is controlled with a hard drive - you must remove the base of the cover to check if - some reports are that some versions can be delivered with the necessary equipment.  If not, they are likely available from spare parts from Dell and from other sources such as EBay and third Dell parts suppliers such as share - People.com.

It can be larger than 32 GB, but it is not the boot drive and its only real function is as a cache of acceleration for the main mechanical hard drive, for which really impossible to use something bigger.

  • Satellite U400 - 12 p and mSATA SSD

    I have the Satellite U400 - 12 p.
The motherboard has two free slots miniPCI if they install mSATA SSD OCZ AC Nocti - MSATA - 120G, for example in these slots?

I agree with Akuma. Satellite U400 is old enough laptop model and its standard SATA port, you cannot use reader with connector mSATA (mini-SATA).
the mSATA discs are smaller and designed for use on the netboos and ultraportable notebooks.

  • Satellite L670-112 - SSD slow read and write speed

    Hello.
I put 120 GB SATA III SSD kingston (read and write above 500 MB/S), but when I run the sequential test I get 150 MB/S read and 107 MB/S in writing. I know SATA II limitation, so should not write and read nearly 300 MB/S?

Yes, it should at least reach SATA II speeds (close to 270 MB/s).

Most SSD's 4K sector drives you may need to realign the 512 to 4K sectors using a partition alignment tool (I think that WD have one available).

  • HP 8460p SSD Upgrade & Installation of Windows 8 question

    Hello

I am trying to install Windows 8 Pro (new installation) on my laptop. In addition, I purchased a new SSD (Adata S510) and placed in my notebook. Updated my BIOS to F.28 to F.29 firmware. SSD is set to AHCI.

In the installation dialog box, windows asks me for the installation partition. I see the hard drive and can chose him. But installing Windows tells me I can't install Windows on hdd0, partition 1.

Detailed error message (translated from the German, English):... .the material possibly does not support booting with this device. Make sure that the controller is enabled in the BIOS...

So, where is my problem? My BIOS does not support the SSD or what?

    Thank you

I was able to get an Intel SSD for tests. Works like a charm. So the Adata SSD was the problem.

    Thank you

Yes, you can upgrade the memory.  There are two locations of memory on the motherboard.  This is the page for Specifications of the motherboard of the computer.

  • Will be my DV7-6c95dx except an SSD without modification and is compatible SATA III?

    Hello:

Or is it an adapter of some sort.

    Win7

If is not SATA III compatible (vs previous versions) it would be a valid reason to consider NOT install and SSD?

    And one last question:

This computer has a different view of any LCD I've met before. The contrast in the Intel Graphics window setting seems almost seem a gamma set with 'wash' past with very small movements of the slider to the right...

    Normal for this machine?

    Hello

I didn't disagree with that because SATA III is backward compatible. Yes, you can not get the SATA III speed, but you can see a huge improvement especially start & stop time, copy files, photoshop... compared to a normal 7200 tr / MIN HARD drive.

    Kind regards.

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

I'm on version 4.1.1.00.23 of the APEX. I've created a classic report and I am trying to sort. Here's how I'm trying to sort by column name. I have TotPGPV with sorting sequence 1 desc and NewTOTPGPV with sorting sequence 2 desc. I have Count1, Count5 with the sort column. What I'm asking is when the report is run can column sorting to default Count1 and Count5 descending instead of the ascendant. I don't see anywhere to set the default value for the sort column.

Hi - on the report of the page attributes - that you show in your attached screenshot - you can select the columns to sort on the sort sequence as well as the direction of the sort, i.e. for a given column, you can choose to allow sorting on this column, what position this column must be in the sort sequence and whether to sort Ascending or descending by default (i.e. '1' means sort this column first and bottom-up and "1 desc") sort this column first and downhill). Don't forget that once you click on one of the headings of column during execution, it changes your sort settings and these settings are stored in your preferences, that is, they are used again the next time you log in your application and rerun the report.

    Kind regards
