This y cop of windows is not genuine message on the desktop, even thought it is authentic

Please visit http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/ and click on the button to validate Windows or validate Office, and then restart your computer.

If you were not able to validate, follow these steps:

1. Download this diagnostic tool, save it to your desktop: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=56062

-Online Windows XP: double-click the executable file to run the tool.

-Online Vista & Win7: right-click on the executable and select run as administrator to run the tool.

2. after running the tool, click on the Windows or Office as appropriate and then click on copy (to the Clipboard).

NB: You can open a new file in Notepad, paste the contents of the Clipboard in it & keep for future reference.

3 start a new thread in the appropriate forum of Microsoft Genuine Advantage and paste the results of the WGA or OGA data diagnostic in a detailed post tool: http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/genuine

4 Troubleshooting specialist will analyze the data and recommend an appropriate solution.

  • This copy of Windows is not genuine after updating Windows 10 and return to Windows 7 Ultimate

When I've updated to windows 10 using the windows icon free 10 in the corner, it didn't appeal to me, so I used the button restore to go back to windows 7. I suggest that you run the diagnostic tool Microsoft Genuine Advantage in normal mode and copy and paste the results into a response for further analysis:

    http://go.Microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=52012

Run the tool and when it ends, click the copy button, open a text such as Word or Notepad file and select Edit, paste. You can paste directly into an answer here. Open a response, right click and select Paste.

  • After the reboot, I get Windows Vista build 6002 this copy of windows is not genuine, but the system... activation seems to be

After a restart/virus scan (after the large recent Windows Update Microsoft), I see on the background one right part of my screen:

Windows Vista (TM) Build 6002 this copy of Windows is not genuine.

I looked at the system screen and it shows only: Windows is activated.

I ran Microsoft Genuine Diagnostics tool, and it shows:
    Validation status: genuine

N/a for resolution state (probably because he thinks that the installation is correct).

Don't know what the issue is here?  Does anyone know a fix for this?  I would rather have not shut down the system after 30 days of work!
    Thank you!

According to the report that you have posted, you should not see a non-genuine problem - the report is clean.

If you are indeed to see a non-genuine notification, then is that from time to time, or is this all the time?

If it is present only from time to time, you have a race condition - and those can be a nightmare to solve, because they disappear as soon as you look at :) They are often caused by antivirus programs in conflict with other programs running

If it is there all the time, then try the following.

Vista license store is perhaps damaged or its data can be ruined somehow. Please try the steps below to re-create the store with the correct data.

  • "Windows 7 Build 7601 this copy of Windows is not genuine". Really? Why now after 1 1/2 years?

Yesterday a notice appeared on the lower right of my saying (black screen) desktop "Windows 7 Build 7601 this copy of Windows is not genuine." The computer is a Dell XPS1702x I bought the 29/08/2011 and never had a problem before. I have two drives to Windows 7 Ultimate and Office 2010 Professional Plus, that are installed on the system. I have read other threads and will display the results of the diagnostic MGA. The computer seems to operate normally, other than the appearance of the desktop. Thank you.

ignore the error message. the report will still be copy and paste.

Activation and Validation issues more look the same on the surface, but can have many different causes and bugs. This is why we ask a diagnostic report and it is also why we are asking that you create your own thread for your question (in other words, do not post your question in another thread).

It is simply too complicated to try to resolve the multiple problems in the same thread.

  • "Windows 7 Build 7601 this copy of Windows is not genuine" after several teething problems

Well, a few days ago, I had repeated problems where after my machine has started, things were not running right.  Several programs that start automatically at startup were suspended, others were not run at all and I had to reboot several times in a row until I was a session that would normally be.  This last day, he won't even be me a normal session.

And then I got the dreaded error "this copy of Windows is not genuine" and it starts just a black screen and I do not get any further.  (I started this time in Mode safe mode with networking).  I have a disc of Win7 Pro DVD bought Age of return and progressed through several machines with it.  Always a machine at the same time, of course.

    MGADiag output follows.

Well, it's flipping strange... NOW everything is back to normal.  oO that everything started automatically starts very well and not more "this copy of Windows is not genuine" message.  I didn't have anything under the hood to fix, he has finally decided to go back to normal. :/

  • "Windows 7 Build 7601 this copy of Windows is not genuine" and the slow boot after malware removal

HP Pavilion dm4 my daughter recently started to take about 10-15 minutes to start, tell me that he had become infected by something questionable. It is currently running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, with AVG free anti-virus.

When we noticed the problem first, AVG has been disabled (probably by malware), and I could not turn it back on. He would not run a scan at all. I have scanned it with Norton Power Eraser and their free bootable scanner, nor identified any problems. I ran Malwarebytes in safe mode, and it found several files associated with Yontoo, which he deleted. I ran ccleaner, including the registry cleaner. At this time, AVG was returned to service, so I ran a full scan with it. AVG found several files associated with OpenCandy, which he deleted. A scan later Malwarebytes came clean.

For now, the system seems to work fine, EXCEPT: there are still a huge amount of time to start - several minutes between each step. And now, the desktop appear intermittently a message which reads: "Windows 7 Build 7601 this copy of Windows is not genuine".

I found a lot of discussion online about this error message, but it seems that each of them (which I reviewed) has a different twist to what I feel.

Any suggestions for next steps? Thanks in advance.

    Marty

To recover the files please see paragraph 7.4 in the link here:
    http://www.gerryscomputertips.co.UK/win7tips1.htm

Alternatively, you can run chkdsk from the other computer hard disk.

When you have recovered your data files you can restore settings.

Another option could be to download a copy of windows, to burn a copy on DVD and try a repair installation. The sticker COSTS on the computer applies to OEM Windows Home Premium? -What is the 25-character readable product key?

  • After that my PC froze, then restarting one second BIOS has been activated, now I get the Message: this copy of Windows is not genuine.

    Hello

My PC froze because of the power failure. A to stop by pressing the power button for 8 seconds.

After I turn on the PC, I got a message that the BIOS has been altered.   Since I have a motherboard Gigabyte with dual BIOS, he turned off the second BIOS.

After the PC is returned to the Windows desktop, the background changed to black with the text in the right corner:

    "Windows 7"

    'Build 7601'

"This copy of Windows is not genuine."

I know this is true because I buy a commercial version of Windows 7 Ultimate edition of Microsoft. I guess that Windows detects the second BIOS as a different system.

I restarted the computer, then Windows activated by itself. Under the Control Panel, he showed that he was authentic.

For two weeks and the "activate Windows now" are back. "Requires a change in hardware or driver will allow you to activate Windows again." "Click on the message to start activation."

The context has changed to black with the text in the right corner:

    "Windows 7"

    'Build 7601'

"This copy of Windows is not genuine."

I try to type the key to packing, that it does not work.

    Any ideas?

Use the phone activation, do not meet all the guests until the opportunity to talk to a real person, it is preferable during the normal working day

  • I tried to update Windows Vista Home Edition basic and now it says my version of windows is not genuine, even if I enabled it for years.

I got my version of windows activated for about 3 years.  I did a bunch of windows updates yesterday when he arrived to service pack 2, it installed and most of it then told me that my version of windows is not genuine.  I'm also infallibly get error messeges that my installer of Modules of Windows has stopped working.   I went to the windows genuine activation tool, and he said he couldn't tell if my windows was genuine or not.  I have a sticker with the product key on the side of my computer.  I tried to call the Activation Center by following the instructions to get the phone number, but my windows vista won't take me to the screen with the support of activation phone numbers.

Can I get the phone number for support?

    Thank you

The problem is that I have the disc of Windows 7 OS because it was already installed when I bought the laptop, so I find myself with this problem and no way to fix it other than spend more money buy a new OS and I simply do not have it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated so thank you in advance if you can help.

    Hi Louise,.

Perform the steps from the link below and see if it works.

Windows 7 displays "Windows is not genuine" with a 0x80070005 error code

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

    Good day!

  • "This copy of Windows is not genuine" after installing windows skin (transcript)

So this weekend I spent a few hours to 'customize' my PC. I installed a skin (which I assume is the source of my problem), some tools to change the ORB start and a few other minor aesthetics, I also changed the sounds, but you can do this through the customization tab, so I doubt that this would be the source of my problem. I was careful when replacing system files, than the replacement of explorer.exe itself corrupted in the past, that I managed to fix my own easily.  I doubt the files I edit has had something to do with the permission of my OS, but I could be wrong. I have a genuine version of Windows 7, it came preinstalled on the PC when I bought it and it works A-O-Kay for about 5 years now, all I've really seen this pirate error trying to hide evidence to their pirated copies of Win7, that is not the case.

I currently do a Virus scan with AVG as I type this and will edit if it solves the problem. But I am fully willing to cooperate in the process of solving this problem, if the skin I have installed is the problem so I can easily uninstall, repair my file system or restore them to a point older; It's just that I don't want to get rid of him, if I have to. Another note, it's that I did not use the wipers/registry cleaners other than CCleaner, which did not give me wrong before and is highly praised for this work and to play with something else.

I think it's something got in my system files with the tools that I used or something, because when I go into the properties of my computer it says my authorization key is not available.

    Thanks in advance,
    Nick.

Thanks for the reply. I have since made a system restore and the antivirus scan has detected two "IRP Rootkits" inside my System32 folder. Strangely, after restoration, the message disappeared, I waited for about 45 minutes and checked again and it was still gone and in computer > properties it doesn't detect my RAM or the processor (which has since fixed itself, because it detects very well now).

After having checked the link you provided the only question I had was the error message, I have not received an error message and my desktop (s) remained the same, that could be because I use displayfusion to my setup dual monitor that replaced the switch in the dark.

I'll stay alert for any additional questions by the departure, but it seems that this might have been a minor bug on my part because it seems to be fixed now. I will return if the problem appears again, thank you for your assistance, Sharief.

    Select Properties

Scroll to the bottom of the page and select change product key

    (2) press the ENTER"" key.

    (3) select your "country" in the list.

    (4) choose the option "activate phone".

    (5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    (6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

    Additional information:

Computers, which are built by large manufacturers provided with pre-installed Windows are supplied with 2 two product keys:

    (A) OEM SLP: this key comes pre-installed in Windows, when it comes to the factory. This key is designed to work with the special instructions isn't on the hardware of this manufacturer. Then, when Windows was installed using the OEM SLP (in factory) Windows 7 key leans on the motherboard and he sees special instructions and activates. (that's why you had no need to turn on your computer after you brought it home)

    (B) COST SLP: it's the product key that you see on the sticker on the side (or at the bottom, [or in the battery compartment]) of your computer. It is a valid product key, but must be used only in certain situations (for example, if the OEM SLP key stops automatic activation for a reason any). The key must be activated by phone. (Note: all manufacturers that use the SLP OEM system are bound by contract to include a certificate of Authenticity sticker (COA), which has a COA SLP key, on the computer)
