  Hi im an independent developer of games and I do it for fun, but I want to start doing more. I would like to make a film trailer for one of my games, but I'm not good with graphics really at all. I have the software to assemble the video and audio and audio, but I need a program that could PREFERABLY convert a 2d image, I have a 3d or at least help to accelerate. I also need a program that can help with an animation of market. I can program it to walk forward, but I'm not good enough to make an animation that looks good. Can After Effects do all this?   Select the property x of one of the segments, hold down the alt/option key and click on the stopwatch to add expression. Type "value +" then use the pickwhip to connect to your x-position slider. "." That's all.

  Now highlight the position x and go to the Edit menu and choose copy only expression. now select all of the layers on this side of your robot and paste.

  That should do it. The expression should read something like:

  value + thisComp.layer("controller").effect ("Slider Comtrol") ("Slider");

  Any suggestions guys? We have tried almost all of the codecs that support the alpha channel.

  OK, we found the solution. The problem is in the first sequence settings. Composite linear color must be unchecked!

  

• Video cutting saves memory in After Effects CS4?

  I'm working on this project, and I have a bunch of large video files.  If I cut the video within the composition, which saves memory send me things more RAM Preview or speed upward? Or would you say it cuts before you import it into the composition. I'm worried that if I cut the video before importing it, maybe use VirtualDub or AfterEffects himself, I'd lose quality?
  
  The clip was recorded using Fraps in 'full-screen' mode, and I will be output using After Effects to 1280 x 720 pixels. I need to keep the quality so that people can view them later on Youtube in HD.  It is a composition of 6 min.
  
  The problem is that the files are very large, a film of 2 min 30 sec being about 3 GB, and I'm not getting RAM Preview more than maybe 5-6 seconds now because the number of files in the composition (most of them will be used). I've even enabled multiprocessor and increased memory paging file. I was even using an 4 GB with Windows ReadyBoost flash drive.

  Composition settings:

  Screening: HDV/HDTV 720 29.97 (this is the correct setting if I want to display in Youtube HD)?

  Durating: 6 minutes

  PC: I have 4 GB of RAM on my system.

  Total files: about 20 GB, 190 files.

  There is another question, I really need to crop the bottom/top part of the clips. For now, I put on the scale clips to exclude parts down, that I don't need, but I was wondering if I should have trimmed before you import them to the project. Which would give me probably longer RAM Preview, but then if I cropped the clips dimensions beforehand they would lose quality? (Once again, done using AE4 or VirtualDub)

  What exactly do you mean by 'trim '? Are you referring to the shortening of the duration of the video in the source file? This has nothing to do with the RAM Preview.

  The number of files used as source for a composition are not relevant to the length of RAM Preview, either.

  Don't, don't.

  You only have 4 GB of RAM. It is not enough to use the feature of multiprocessing made simultaneous multiple images.

  In addition, by using this feature, you dedicate RAM for the rendering process of the Fund, which subtracts the RAM that is available for the duration of RAM Preview.

  You have very little RAM, so your RAM Preview times are not going to be great. See this FAQ entry for some mitigation advice this:

  I took some pictures and a few videos today with an EOS650D as well to create a film in stop motion.

  I created a sequence based on the video files and added pictures. While the videos fill the full framework, images appear with a border to the left and to the right.

  How are the videos and images in a different size? What I did wrong or that you can do to fix this?

  The images have a resolution different then video

  Video is usually 16:9 while the photos are of 3:2.

  Check the height and width of the two.

  FIX: the scale of the images upward (effect controls/movement)

• Video final horrible quality in CS6 after effects when rendering a 1920 x 1080 video in H.264 format

  I use After Effects CS6 on my Macbook Pro for over a year now without any problems. However, today when I exported a video would be rendered in 1920 x 1080 p H.264 format, I had the worst quality video I've ever seen. I filmed my video files in 1920x1080p (as usual) and I clicked on the same buttons as I usually do to export a video, but each HQ video I try to export is horrible. I didn't click on the crazy buttons or anything out of the ordinary.

  I always export a video following this sequence:

  File > export > add to render queue > Lossless > H.264 (format quality) > video output (make sure it is checked) > audio output (make sure it is checked) > OK > out of office

  My rendering parameters are still defined as "best settings", including the resolution 'full' and 'better' quality.

  Now, when I click on H.264, an "incompatibility of parameters" appears and says:

  "WARNING: output file will be resized 1920 x 1080 (1.00 BY) 320 x 1080 (BY 6,00) to meet the constraints of format."

  The quality of rendering and playback quality in After Effects is great, but once the video is exported, it's horrible.

  Help, please? I have I need to meet deadlines!

  Use the H.264 encoding presets in Adobe Media Encoder.

  Yes sorry about that. Since then, I managed to find a solution to the problem.

  What is expected. PS video support is currently non-functional in AE. You must make the outcome in PS and import the image sequence.

• Is a good choice for creating educational videos narrated Motion?

  I am interested in the creation of educational videos from a few minutes to an hour in length. Content starts out as a script that is then saved as an audio narration. I wonder if I could then import the audio and (vector single) assets in motion and animate in sync with the narration. There will be several scenes regarding the animations, but it must be on a timeline to keep my sanity. This would be a low-budget project. If you watched the videos of YouTube of CGPGrey, you get the picture. It uses FCP which I think is excessive and doesn't seem to be the best fit. There are a lot of people interested in this kind of videos, and I'm surprised that Motion never came as a tool. I looked at a few tutorials and feel of that movement is mostly used for short animations that are then integrated at the FCC.

  Is there a reason that I should not use Motion for this project?

  Would you recommend alternatives? The closest thing to what I want seems to be Flash (now animate) but I find it prohibitively expensive. Speech has most of the basic tools that I need with respect to the import of content and animation (really just move things), but it lacks a timeline and it is really not what it was designed to do.

  Keep in mind, M5 is not "paint.app", in addition, you need to buy something like Pixelmator and maybe some Wacom et al. to create drawings. Place parts on layers. diff, export them in the file .psd and handles M5 under layers too.

  M5 "behaviours" would simplify a lot of animation tricks, milkshakes, wobble, circles Movin' ' n, gravity, bounce - all inclusive to M5. No full physics engine... yet, but more practical. And no inverse kinetics, or "puppets".
