  I saw that error and even if it says access denied it will actually save your changes.  After you disable all move forward and apply then restart and see if it kept the changes.  If it's not then I hope that you are able to borrow a disc it would in time look for resettlement.   Could you try to remove Firefox and then reinstall it to? Maybe with a new start, Firefox will be better behaved.

  The problem is that when you had a copy of "All bookmarks" in a folder "All bookmarks" you can create a loop forever in some of the editing operations, crash Firefox bookmark.

  Because it crashes when you do this, the obvious solution is to not do this.

  So, my intention was to point out that such an operation can cause a problem but I was not looking for a solution, because I simply won't. Given that I was not really a question, I think that it maybe wasn't the right place to make such a report.
