Hidden file containing system 70 GB of disk space, even by showing hidden files reveal what who or where he is.

I just noticed today that I have only 5 GB of disk space. After checking the properties of all the directories on that drive, I can determine that about 70 GB has been lost.

I followed the post here: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistaperformance/thread/93892180-aa3f-4cd3-90a9-87d6aca6ddca

and it made no difference.

I don't know I have no viruses because my PC is completely swept every day, I also run Diskeeper Pro in order to reduce the fragmentation (this one works permanently).

I deleted all my Windows and application event logs, and this too made no difference.

As indicated in the title, I have exposed system files etc. and always impossible to find what.

Just to reiterate, checking the properties of each folder to root quite well shows the use of the disc I expect, if I check the properties of the root of C:, it shows 5 GB free.

I am running Vista + SP2, Avira AV, Comodo Firewall, Diskeeper 2010 Pro.

If your computer works normally without any problem follow these steps: right-click (c) click on disk cleanup, wait... click More Options, click on clean for the system restore and shadow copies. Now check the free space.

It does allow me to choose the installation location.

I bought and installed more memory. Did not help. Then I used the online chat feature and the tech said it was weird and sent me a link explaining how to free more space which helps me not at all. Where free space when I do not know where the program is trying to install?

HP has a utility on their website to remove all the drivers of HP, I suggest that you use, and then restart your computer. Then run Disk Cleanup and remove all temporary files

Then, visit the HP website and download the drivers / software specific to your model, then install using instructions HP, which normally means installation drivers / software before connecting the printer

  • Will run out of disk space with these daily updates of MSE my HP/Compaq Presario with Vista?

I'm sure this has been asked before.  I just installed Microsoft Security Essentials after the uninstall of a problem FREE AVAST ANTI VIRUS.  PC is better/work order.  But these daily updates of Microsoft are troubling.  I have 103 Gig capacity hard drive with space of 'FREE' 69 Gig.   And abandonment.   I don't do very MUCH with the PC.  Basic stuff.  Account management.  Look at Yahoo and Accuweather. Create a card.  Messaging.  My question is Microsoft updates daily use eventually the capacity of my hard disk?   There are now 55 updates.  When I ran Windows updates with the Defender, there were 4 or 5 important updates per week and I could choose the ones that I have no need of (I think).   Your support of experts and orientation is a great help for me and I thank you in advance.

    Hello

It would take a lot of time to fill your disk space hard if you don't use it a lot to save anything yourself

MSE updates will not be a concern for you with to take too much space

You MUST have these updates as Malware is written daily and definitions to help protect your computer should be the writtern and installed to protect your machine

a way to choose which updates you want to install, change how you get updated Automatic FRO other updates to 3rd party hardware drivers, etc.

    read this tutorial

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial140.html

Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.

Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.

  • NO DISK SPACE IS

I have windows vista home basic office with 4 partitions Viz, C (38 GB), D (38 GB), E (33.2 GB) AND F (39.6 GB).  All files of program and other programs are in the C drive.   C now has a low disk space if I defragmented and made clean disc.  other partitions have a lot of space.  Can I combine C & D without losing any data.

    Hello

You can not merge without losing data unless you save it 1

    you save data on D: - then remove D: - and then expand C: and read this tutorial;

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/95418-disk-management-delete-extend.html

and read this review I gave to someone else here:

    Hello

your C: partition is too small

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/products/system-requirements

Microsoft recommends 40GBs install vista on

You have temporary internet files, etc being recorded as well as windows updates

System Restore takes 15% C: space too

and don't you can't change where etc. restore points are saved

If you are installing programs on C: you can uninstall/reinstall them but when resettlement to lead must be installed on the D: drive

Another solution is to record data on D: as it will be lost in doing so - then delete D: - extend C: into the now unallocated space where D: was - and backup all your data, copy

  • ORA-00257 - a lot of free disk space

I am trying to load approximately 14 GB of data, for a total of ~13.5 million records.
The raw data are on 14GBs, and the table space is set to 30GBs, its all text data.
The data are about 200 files of different site, ranging from 10 to 180 MBs.
It's test data (real) I use to try to optimize my indexes and others before you start using the table for actual reports.
A DBA, I am not able in databases and programming, I am, so please bare with me :)

My approach is to use sqlldr on an Oracle 10 DB to load data into a table records_load, and then use a procedure essentially do an insert in the selection of records (...) (...) of records_load, in the records_load deletion.

I've done a few sites one at a time, and they work fine, so I have 500,000 records in my table of records.
But when I try to transfer the 13,000,000 whole records in the table of loading using the SP, it ends by crashes.

If I connect to sqlplus to another window, I get
    ERROR:
ORA-00257: archiver error. Connect internal only, until this just released.

HOWEVER, what I find online tells me that the disc is full.
Oracle is configured on a Windows Server, as follows:

    Total free walk
    Oracle-c (c :)) 50.0 go-go 39.3)
    Oracle-apps (e :)) 99.9 GO 91.2 GB)
    Oracle-logsA (f) 195 go-go 140
    Oracle-logsB (g) 83.5 83.3 go-go
    data-Oracle (h :)) 278 GO 150 GB)

I stumbled upon this problem on so Friday and ran:
    RMAN > delete expired backup;
and it "seemed" to solve the problem, which doesn't make much sense to me.

So, I changed my PC a little today, to use a cursor and loop through each site and make the
    «* loop * insert records (...)» "selection (...) from records_load * where site = cur_row.site *, to remove at records_load * where site = cur_row.site."

Now my db is blocked again, with a LOT of disk space.
I don't really know what to do and would appreciate any suggestions?

Probably not enough free space to archive then redo log file

The table has some 7 300 000 rows. I would like to know how to calculate too.

All AIDS are very much appreciated.

A rough estimate of the index space will need is possible by

adding the actual length expected from each column, plus 6 for the rowid, 2 for the number of the X-header of the rows in the table that will be so an entry

    Date are 7 bytes internal + 15 + 4 + 2 + 6 = 34 X 7.3 M = 248200000 X General fresh for the block header, initrans, etc...

    We will use 20% overhead block or 1.2 X 248200000 = 297840000, which is about 285 M

The actual distribution will vary according to your method of range tablespace.

    Original title: NtKernel.etl

My Windows Vista operating system is very low on disk space. NtKernel.etl takes more than 1 200 KB of space files. Can I delete this file to create more space?

ETL files are files of track, but that won't get back you a little more than a MB.  If you're hungry for space, it might be time for a larger drive.
