Hidden mailbox

I use Mac OS El captain. My new created mailboxes are hidden once disconnect me and appears once again if I create another mailbox in the same mailbox. Any suggestions to solve the problem?

Your description is impenetrable. I don't know what your real complaint may be.

Please try again, as if you have explained a little child who cannot see your screen and be as specific as possible.

  • Why my email with indicator does not appear in my Inbox mailbox "tagged"?

I don't know if it's a matter of iMac or a matter of BONES... it was happening until I upgraded to Sierra and used El Capitan.  The problem started about a month or two ago.

I am able to email from flag that I want to keep at hand and my box (in the Favorites bar) shows 'spotted' by email that I have flagged 167 messages... but when I click on the Flagged mailbox on the sidebar, it is empty.  Although just after I upgraded to Sierra, with message indicator began to appear in the box to the letters of the sidebar, but now shows nothing.  I used to be able to click on a flag at the top of the Inbox of mail and it would show all of my email with an indicator, but with the new configuration, it's gone.

Then someone can help me figure what to do to show my email with indicator, I would be happier.  It's really a pain to have to scroll through all the mail in my Inbox to find flagged messages.  I know I can do a search, but sometimes I do not remember what to look for!

    Someone please help!

  • Access mailbox

I recently updated my iMac 10.7.5 to 10.11.4. I don't see one of my mailboxes "on my Mac" or their content, but can get back them if I search for them by name. No response to "new mailbox", i.e. not be created, or being created but not posted. Any suggestions?

    They are just hidden?

Try this, move the cursor to the right of "on my Mac" until appears a sign '+' and the text 'Show '. Click 'View' to see your records "on my Mac".

In Mail 9.2 OS 10.11.3 the limit between the list of my mailboxes mailbox and my messages keep slipping backward.  Make me feel seasick!  Can I disable this feature?  I want a stable limit!  (I really don't care for any of the new movements of the screen in El Capitan slide-wiggly.)  I don't know if there is

    'fixed' to try!  Help, please!

Why do you think it is a "feature" as opposed to something to go wrong with your Mac?

The border between my message list and the display of messages remained constant for several years now.

Nothing moves, nothing is serrated blade.

My mailbox list is always hidden, but when I open it, it remains a fixed width.

I even tried the stupid "full screen" mode and could not see to do random movements, unsolicited.

I have no idea what would cause the behavior you're seeing.

No matter what do you do when it happens? Like maybe click on the voicemail of show/hide button?

  • Mail does not display the mailbox

After a few computer problems, I wiped my own PowerMac and started from scratch with a clean install of El Capitan.  I have half a dozen emails, and trying to think ahead, I made a backup of the Mail folder that is located in the library of the 'hidden' user (where it maintains pressed press Option key to access the library under the Go menu folder).

After that cleaning installed, I got my mail folder backup and he PLOPPED in my user library hidden and shot to the top of Mail, hoping that I would find my accounts of half dozen e-mail waiting for me. But no, they were not visible.  I thought that maybe it was related to a preferences file, so I looked through a Time Machine backup recent of my preferences file, but the preference for mail only I saw there was com.apple.mail - shared.plist. I advanced and copied, but still no luck.

How can I get E-mail to acknowledge once more the many mailboxes I have in my e-mail user library folder?

I don't really understand if you're wondering how to view the list of mailboxes or how to recognize (for example, to have all accounts and emails arranged correctly) mailbox store.

To view the mailboxes, use the Mail menu to display > display the list of mailboxes.

In order to recognize mailboxes, the issue is more complicated, because it is not at all clear to me if "backup of my mail folder" contains enough information to do what you are trying to do.  But you can always try to box the mailbox > rebuild for each of the mailboxes you are showing.

  • How can I move the mailboxes that I created from one computer to another?

My old Macbook Pro has several e-mail mailboxes to store emails. I want to move them to a flash drive and copy them to my new computer.  Where can I find them in the Finder?

The Mac is a multi-user system. If you choose to create only a single user, Mac OS X does not address which as a special case.

The user files are stored in the top level directory

    / Users

    .. yourshortusername

    .. yourspousesshortusername

    .. your childsshortusername

    .. yourdogsshortusername

.. yourseparateAdmninname (if you created one)

-Inside the folder of the user in question, the folder hidden library (not to be confused with the / library at high level)

-Inside this folder of the library, the mail folder

-then depending on what version of Mac OS X, files are right there - or -'live' files are in the folder V2 - GOLD-

If running 10,11 or later, the 'live' files are inside the folder V3

    Help!

By "mailboxes", do you mean the files? What is a POP3 account? See if that helps.

Two reasons the most common for what you describe is disruption of the compacting process, (never touch anything until it's finished), or bloated folders. More about that below.

Why OE insists on compacting folders when I close it? :
    http://www.insideoe.com/FAQs/why.htm#compact

    Why mail disappears:
    http://www.insideoe.com/problems/bugs.htm#mailgone

    Recovery methods:

If you are running XP/SP3, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.

To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.

Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.

Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.

First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.

If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.

If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.

If you have not then bak copies of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin:

    And see:

    http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4

A general warning to help avoid this in the future:

Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:

  • I can't remove most of my emails from any of my boxes Outlook Express mailbox.

I tried to delete the old and new messages in my Inbox, sent items, deleted items and mailboxes from spam.  I can delete some messages, but only a few of them.  I use Outlook Express 6.  Help, please!

You have corruption of dbx files.

Spend most of your messages out of the Inbox if you can and move the messages you want to record off deleted items, and sent items. Locate the OE message store and then close OE.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

With OE closed, find the Deleted Items.dbx and Sent Items.dbx files and delete them. New files will be created automatically when you open OE.

Compact all folders as described below.

To avoid this in the future:

Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

Information on the maximum size of the .dbx files that are used by Outlook Express:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/?kbid=903095

After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the processors and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs and account setting changes. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:

  • Help? Control Panel of boxes hidden until I click on it

What is someone having the same problem as me? Some control panels is hidden until I smiled on them.

    Hi Sudarshan

    Thanks for the last link

I'll never know if this Council would have helped because, following a private Thomas email, I got a call last night from a guy in India: Jatin Dembla, a Consultant of the Support technique Adobe (level 2). I appele called to 19.40, made me to install the software so it could take control of my Mac - then remained on it until 22.45 (03,45 in India!)

    Result: ITS ALL SORT!

Don't know what help I can give someone another followed this thread, but here goes:

Jousset began looking at the problem of Adobe After Effects do not open. He sent me a new copy of the Verdana and forced me to install in one of the records of the police (not sure one) replacing the original size Verdana police. Result: Adobe After Effects and Adobe after effects Render Engine now open without any problems. I asked if it was just a problem with the font Verdana of original size being corrupted. Jousset said it could be - or it might be corrupted permissions - or anything else - he wasn't sure.

Then I open Dreamweaver to display jousset the problem that started this whole thread - the invisible signs. To my surprise the Site panel configuration was right--all visible as he should. Jousset could not explain why he was working now. It seems hard to believe that replacement Verdana could have fixed. All I can say is that it certainly did work not (except in the new user account) until Jatin started working on my Mac. The only advice I can give to someone else with the same problem is to open every single Adobe applications you have. If you find an error with one of the other - which could be the cause of the problem in Dreamweaver.

Finally, Jatin tried to get my 10 updates to work. This turned out to be much more problematic. He admitted that this is a big problem that Adobe engineers are trying to fix at the moment. He tried a lot of things that you and Thomas have already suggested in this thread - nothing works. At one point, that he was receiving messages on his accession, saying they could not work because "the Power PC applications are no longer supported". I googled this and found it to be another problem that people have found CS6 - even if they just installed on a new Mac CS6. Anyway, ultimately jousset decided the only thing to do was to remove absolutely do everything with Adobe on my Mac and start over. This means that it must uninstall all CS6 Master Suite, subsequently full Acrobat CS5 master (which I had kept for backup), and even a program to install CS3 that I forgot that I had. After that, he didn't use the cleaning tool Adobe CS that I expected. Instead, he has deleted many files manually. Here is the list, he sent me:

/ Applications (all files from Adobe)

    / Applications/Adobe

/ Applications /. AdobePatchFiles (hidden, use Go > order of the folder)

    / Applications/utilities / (all Adobe files)

    / Applications/utilities/Adobe

    / Library/Application Support/Adobe

    / Library/Application Support/FLEXnet Publisher /.

    / Library/Preferences/com. Adobe (all files com.adobe)

    / Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher /.

    /Users/ [user] / Library/Application Support/Adobe

    /Users/ [user] / Library/Caches/Adobe

    /Users/ [user] / Library/caches/com. Adobe (all files com.adobe)

    /Users/ [user] / Library/Preferences/Adobe

    /Users/ [user] / Library/Preferences/com. Adobe (all files com.adobe)

Finally it made me try to install Photoshop CS6 my .dmg file and then try to run the update. At this point jousset asked if he could go home from his shift ended some time ago. He asked me to send him an email with the result and promised me to Skype from his home in an hour if I still have problems.

Fortunately, in 10 minutes, I was able to send him an email to say that the update had worked.

Today, I ran the rest of the download and all updates. Everything works now. Everything is up-to-date. And Dreamweaver has now its missing back panels!

So a huge thank you, Sudarshan for all your advice and support during the week. And thank you for contacting Thomas - who contacted jousset - who has spent more than 3 hours on my Mac before finally fixed everything!

I can finally give this thread a big tick!

  • iOS and Mac OS hidden pictures are not hidden

Is anyone else wondering why the function 'hide photo' cache of photos? you would think no hidden pictures would go into a hidden album itself is hidden, unless you unlock hidden photos and albums with a password or contact ID? What are the hidden photos that are not hidden? Hidden photos appear as suggested to share pictures in messages app or facebook! It's super annoying. I should be able to hide the photos and the hidden album itself the photos app and other applications as if they are not on the device at all!

The images in the Photos masking is supposed to remove from certain points of view. "Hidden" is not intended to make their "secret." To do this, you need to remove app Photos and store them elsewhere.

  • Cannot delete the mailbox mailbox on my Mac

    What now?

Well, as usual.  Thanks for all the useful responses.  He's staring at me, but WHY this happens is still a mystery.  Well not really a mystery, the Sierra is a mess.

Found the box of thugs in the folder ~/Library/Mail/v4.  Deleted.  Restarted mail.  Then, I could right-click and delete the box.  Probably a screw up through OS X permissions, but seems like no one wants to talk about how Sierra is.  I had at least 6 MAJOR issues this week, which should reinstall me Sierra for the 3rd time in a week.

  • Column width of the mailbox in the Mail of Sierra application

    Hello everyone,

After the upgrade to Sierra, everything went well, but a strange and annoying defect in the Mail application: I've enabled the display of three columns (mailboxes, the list of messages, the content of the Message). Well, the column of the mailbox does not keep its width, restore continuous width stretched, whenever I close the application window.

If I expand the column to display the full name of my multiple email accounts, this preference is lost whenever I close the window. Strangely, if I exit the application without closing the window and then that I raise, the width is maintained, but it is ready to be reinstalled the next time I have everything simply close the window... is possible to make it permanent? The other two columns do not exhibit this problem and their width is however maintained, even if I close the window or quit the app...

    Thanks for your suggestion,

    Enrico

    Hi Enrico,.

I understand that you are having problems with the column width of mailbox remaining the same size when you close the Mail application window. I use the Mail app all the time so I can understand your concern. We will be that we can do.

Since this problem occurs in your main user account, please start the Mac in safe mode, connect as user principal and then add to your account e-mail and then test it. Once you have tested out, just restart your computer to find your main office.

Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning

If the problem persists in safe mode, please test this point to a different user account. This will help determine if the problem is the system level or a specific user.

How to test a question in another account on your Mac.

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple. Have a great day.
