High temperature CPU on Tecra M5

I don't know if it's normal, but my CPU has a normal temperature of 77 c, and when the CPU goes up to 50%, the temperature rises up to 100 ° C.
Is this normal?
My fan is always a lot of noise...

I use Vista and of first instance for temperature - hardware monitoring tool monitor 4.3

Hello

This material, monitoring tools of are not give the actual temp. I tried hardware doctor and he said that my Qosmio runs about 120 ° (!), so I Don t it s think supposed to be the
actual temperature of my CPU!

If your FAN is running constantly, perhaps your fan and cooling system are clobbed with dust. Cleaning may be all that would be useful. On the other side, try to adjust the setting in the "toshiba power saver" and try to find the settings that fit for you (performance/silence), because you have a powerful system and then it s normal that your fan is keen.
He had to cool a processor, a VGA, and a bit of heat from the case.

Welcome them

  • High temperature CPU on Satellite M30

    Hello

I have a Satellite M30 852 with Pentium M 1.5 GHz processor. My problem is that the heater does not start until the CPU temperature reached 70 degrees, which I think is a bit high, no mention that when it has reached this temperature I can not keep the laptop on my legs because it burns... and also to kind of warm around the touchpad and left side of the keyboard.

My question is if there is any software I can use to take the cooler start at low temperatures, to keep, or if there is no setting I can adjust the laptop utilities to solve this problem (in addition to throttle CPU cooling where is defined in the performance).

    Thank you all in advance!

    Hello

The temperature of 70 ° C nothing unusual and in my opinion not too high.
Is that it s not recommended to use the laptop on your legs or in bet, etc.
You should always be sure that there is enough free space (left, right, bottom) around the laptop for the circulation of fresh air!

Usually, the Toshiba power saver controls the cooling method and the CPU processing speed. If you want to change some settings you should the fact in the basic power saver menu.

PS: on m30 the phoenix BIOS has been installed and therefore, you should use the F2 key.

    Hi juanantonio,.
If the chipset and its capabilities powersaving is no better supported you must live with temperatures a little higher...
but it's a long way at the end of specification - your system should run stable - check it out!

for the problem of wlan: go and find a driver/module for your wlan card, I guess it's a intel...
or change it with a model better supported by the operating system.

  • High temperature CPU on my Satellite A300

I got my Satellite A300-1OM for a week now and I'm happy with it. I use it mainly for MS Office and internet. When it is idle, the time CPU (verified by hardware sensors app) vary from 38 to 45 degrees. However, after a few hours of nothing but MS Office and the net (or sometimes just the net), I noticed the hot feeling of laptop and the time went up to 70 degrees, even though the CPU usage is quite low. Should I worry about this? What causes the time to go to the top? The portable little died due to overheating and I hope it lasts a while.

EDIT: the cpu is a Core2Duo T5800. I do not use youtube and other sites heavy process.

    Thank you!

    > The last few laptops are dead due to overheating...
Hmmm... How to understand this? I don't know how you use your A300 Satellite, but I use my for the same purposes (office work) and the laptop runs for hours. It is placed on the desktop, the ventilation openings are free and portable can catch its breath.

Of course, I noticed also that mobile is hot on both sides of the touchpad, but it is nothing unusual, whereas there are placed disks.

So I just hope that you use your laptop on the same path and not on the bed or your lap with blocked in the lower cooling fan.

To be honest, these tools are OK, but you can't believe them 100%. Anyway watch carefully what happens in the future and if you think that the temperature is too high contact nearest authorized service provider and ask for help.

  • Satellite A300D Turion X 2 high temperature CPU on Vista 64-bit

    Hello everyone.

I recently installed Vista Ultimate 64 - bit edition. Noticed that the CPU is too hot so I installed Everest to check and found that the CPU temperature is ~ 90 degrees, even if I was just surfing the internet, downloading some files and listening to music right now.

Is this normal? I thought that 50 degrees is normal. Any advice?

    Hello

Have you tried to clean up your laptop? You can use the jet of compressed air. This could blow the dust from the cooling fans form. To do this you must not disassemble your laptop, it's pretty easy.

Make sure that you have enough free space around the laptop and that nothing is blocking the air flow.

Try to check the temperature with another tool. Maybe Everest didn't read this properly.

  • High temperature CPU and core on Satellite A100-680

    Hey guys,.

I'm having a problem with the temperature of my A100-680. It holds an average base about 80 degrees Celsius (176 degrees fahrenheit) temperature and a temperature of CPU from above 70 ° c (158 degrees fahrenheit). I had the problem since the purchase and got it to clean the radiator and renew the cooling paste once without any significant improvements. This is not the normal idle temp, it can?

Anyone else having the same problem?

    Thanks in advance!

    Thomas

    Hi guys,.

Sorry, but is your accident of machines or you get BSOD? Is performance not well or what?

I mean, I have an A100 with a T7600 and the machine is like yours, but this is normal since these powerful CPU and GPU creates a few h.e.a.t..

So, if your machine shows no such problems I described then I really Don t know where the problem is.

  • High temperature CPU on Satellite A215

    Hello

My Satellite A215 is 3 months old. I use coolfan 4.33. and my temperature is 89 degrees now... This is not normal. How is that possible? What should I do?

To be honest, that you should not believe all you in these third party applications. For me it is certainly not the result of better and more relevant. The question is: you have problems with your laptop? Cooling fan runs on maximum speed only?

If your laptop works well there is no reason to panic. If you notice that any part of your laptop is extremely hot I recommend you contact the service in your country, and they can check your laptop with real diagnostic tools.

When you use your laptop to make sure that nothing obstructs the rack cooling.

  • High temperature after replacing the CPU T2500-> T7200 at T60

After replacing the T2500 CPU temperature CPU T7200 varies from 70 to 85. It seems high, I think about the replacement of the thermal grease or thermal paste application. What could be better? To finish with the original grey Ribbon and fix a new radiator or better coat of toothpaste?

He money and this is a no no on mobile cpu.
Use a no driver or a thermal buffer.

the gray Ribbon is a preferable themal pad use this WHICH CAME into IT.
Because maybe a wedge and to finish with this and without contact.

you upgraded from a 31 to 34 watt TDP watt not much, but he's going to run hot.
75-80 c is hot Yes, but you have class 65nm cpu will run hot because it is old and a lot of work.
If you all know toothpaste can served in the tests but I have not use because it can dry out and not sure what exacly.
heat wise, I do belive in toothpaste is wise very good heat but stick with the gray Ribbon.

Please do not take into account the (re) post above.

I used AS5 on thousands of ThinkPads with no ill effects, in fact the opposite. Research experiences minimal posted by other owners on Bill Morrow ThinkPad Forum will confirm this statement as well. Arctic Silver is as good as it gets unless you want to spend $50 for a tube of thermal paste.

To OP, your machine is running too hot for the processor in question. My 15 "T60p with T7600 is inactive at least 50 degrees C and does no more than 62 in normal use. And Yes, it was AS5 inside.

  • Satellite A200-1TP - the high temperature of the processor

Hello, I have never had a problem with my laptop up to now... I was playing a game when I couldn't play more because my keyboard was raging on the left side.
I checked the temperature of the cpu and it was 80 c! I don't know too much about temperatures, but I think it is too high.
I closed the game and he lowered to ~ 60, then I tried a program called orthos to check the performance of the PC while making 400 iterations of lucas-lehmer and it reached 95 C! OK, it's time to do something.
I tried to format my laptop and see what happpens... On 'high performance', it of about 64 c and on 'power saver' must be between 50 - 55 c, a better way but I think it should be lower. I tried to clean the fan with a vacuum and I think it helped a little... I dare not open my phone because I don't know that I'll break it.
The fan is not broken, it is running, I tried using 'speedfan' change rpm, but this program does not detect my fan so I can't do anything...
I don't know why this is happening. I was so happy until now... I would like to repair the laptop, not to buy a laptop cooler, then... what I need to do?

    Thank you

-Furthermore, the disc is 41 c and GPU temperature is 27 c, I think these are ok.

    Hello

    > I tried to format my laptop and see what happens... On 'high performance', it of about 64 c and on 'power saver' must be between 50 - 55 c, a better way but I think it should be lower.

No contact, the temperature will not stay if you run applications of high performance as the games for example.
Running high-performance programs all internal devices must run with max performance which leads to a higher heat dissipation and this leads to a higher temperature

Of course clean dust cooling modules and debris should help cool the laptop better but it won't change the fact that you will always see a higher temperature, running games

PS: CPU keeps the temperature of 100 degrees, that's what I found on the Intel page!

  • Satellite L500-126 - high temperatures when you play

Lately, my laptop started to reach very high temperatures, I've done a few tests in playing cod 4 on max settings for half an hour.

    Here are the results.

CPU max temperature: 88 degrees celsius
Core max GPU temperature: 112 degrees celsius (!)

It happened several times that my computer off everything just himself.
What can I do about it?

    Hello

Have you installed a different 3rd display driver of the part that is not Toshiba? Usually, these drivers are the cause of the high temperatures and can destroy the equipment. So if you have a such display driver remove it and install the latest driver from Toshiba Web site.

In addition, you must clean your laptop at any time using a jet of compressed air:

  • High temperature on my Qosmio F20 149

    Hello world.

From the beginning, my Q F20 149 develops a rather high temperature on the left side of the keyboard as it is on the low side and left around the exit of the fan.

Although it doesn't seem to be higher than the Q20 exposed in the MediaMarkt store in Berlin, where I bought it, it always bothers me. (In the shop, the system has worked for hours on end in TV mode - so the heat was partially understandable)

My computer becomes so hot, you can hold your hand on it, but I think that "hot" is the appropriate word.
I downloaded PC Wizard 2006 and checked the temperature of CPU - approx. 30-40 ° C without any charge and upward to 63C after some calculations, not just tough.

Can someone tell me what the CPU temperature can be considered critical? I changed the setting for the method of control of the CPU in the AutoCorrect energy saver. The result was 100% CPU usage, the temperature rises quickly.

So, anyone has an idea on the amount of heat is good or not good for the CPU and the system as a whole?

    [Edited by: admin]

    Hello

Believe me, the heat on the side of the unit is a normal problem.
The Qosmio is a portable high-tech with a very high CPU and the use of the graphics card.
I read on some sites that the CPU temperature could go to a 70-80 degrees Celsius.
This higher temperature is possible if the CPU and other devices operate at 100% for example if you play games.
As San Remo said enjoy your laptop really nice ;)

  • Temperature CPU Satellia A100 PSAANE question:

    Hello!

I updated my bios but the problem persists. Some time ago, the PC did not reach these high temperatures...

    What is the problem?

    Thanks in advance

    David

I agree with macdreamy 50 to 70 ºC are not too high for a temperature of the CPU.
I m not an A100 owner but I have another laptop Satellite with the CPU and hardware of similar specifications.
    I get a CPU from 45 to 74 ° c temperature. But the temperature rises to 80 ° c, while watching a video or a game.
Don t be afraid it s everything ok with your CPU ;)

  • Pavilion 6700: Pavilion 6700 entertainment version high temperature

Has been seen problem with laptop stop under high temperature... the time CPU exceed 90oC... the GPU was 50 ° c or more... I set the max CPU to 60% in options power and since then everything is ok...
However if I boot from a CD such as Cornis true image to backup a hard drive, it will stop on high temperature after 20 minutes (because of backup. Not complete) Iassume power options have no effect if it is started in windows, was the hope of a CPU acceleration option in the bios, but it does... I have been informed that the 6xx series is known for overheating issues... don't know if reinstalling the CPU an GPU will help you... hope my model might have a reminder for. It fixed... what of. My best options?
I don't think that a portable hard drive can be supported Windows

    Thank you

If you use the little drop of water that comes with the box, you can insert into the vents and get a clean enough just accomplished. Doing a few disaasembly could allow a more thorough cleaning, but there are many screws/parts in this case to access.

    Hello!

I have a high temperature 50-53 C (Hitachi, 100 GB) HDD in my Satellite M100. The temperature is controlled by Everest and HDDlife. Is this OK such high temperature?
As for me, I think it's too high, because the drive HARD Hitachi 55 C the maximum working temperature.
    Thank you.

    Hello

In my opinion, all these diagnostic applications such as everest etc provide 100% the right temperature.
Well, all laptops Toshiba supports protection against overheating. The laptop will stop if the temperature rises at the critical level.
I think that the temperature is not too high because the laptop works properly.

Since then, whenever I turned on the computer, it is this same something three or four minutes, even if everything else is fine.
The fan (which is on the opposite corner) seems to work ok.
