Satellite M70-207: high temperature - how to open it?

Hello

I own an M70 207 for about a year. A few days ago I noticed a very high temperature in the light front right (near the speaker). I stopped it immediately.
Since then, whenever I turned on the computer, it is this same something three or four minutes, even if everything else is fine.
The fan (which is on the opposite corner) seems to work ok.
I tried to open the case, but I think I did find all the screws, because it is still blocked.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!

It's very strange. I have the same laptop and I noticed a hot area on the left (HARD drive). But on the side right, there is nothing that the PCMCIA location empty. You are using a PCMCIA card?

    Hello

I have the Satellite M70-207 with 512 MB of memory (DDR2 RAM) and I want to Add 1 GB of memory for this PC (total 1.5 GB).

Can I add another memory (RAM) to this PC?
    and how?

    Thank you

    Hi guys

I can confirm this info. You can certainly use a 1 GB module in a slot.
The laptop is able to manage 2 GB max memory (2 x 1024 MB)

As mentioned above the slit is placed at the bottom of the device and could be upgraded with modules like this memory: DDR2 400/533 1 GB (PA3411U-1M1G)

    can someone help me?
    Thank you.

    Hello

This problem occurs if you use some heavy software simultaneously (multitasking).
I guess in this case the CPU and memory with maximum performance, but it takes a little longer because of the many programs and background processes running at the same time.
What you can do is to upgrade the memory or / and cancel some background processes which are not necessary.

  • Satellite M70-131 Linux temperature controller

    Hi all.
I just got my hands on a satellite m70-131 and I am having trouble with Linux temperature controller.
Anyone know what sensors it runs? The SMBus is detected but just lm_sensors detects any sensors.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you all!

    Hello

Sorry, it failed for me to find all the details about this sensor, but I found this useful page on the monitoring of applications for Linux of temperature:

  • Satellite P750 - A069 high temperature

    Hey guys,.

Recently, I noticed that my laptop temperature is higher than usual. I've updated the BIOS and still the same thing. This high temperature really bothers me. Even if I ignore it, sometimes my laptop just stops because of the high temperature.

Can someone help me with this annoying situation, please?

    How to use your laptop?
I mean, it's very important that the cooling vents must be free.
I hope you use your laptop on the desk and there is enough room for air circulation.
    > stops... sometimes my laptop just because of the high temperature.
You are right. When notebook s material range temperature critical portable level stops down to avoid damage to the equipment. For this reason, it is very important for the cooling vents and cooling grill to be free. Right now laptop can take a deep breath and be cooled properly.

  • Satellite L500-126 - high temperatures when you play

Lately, my laptop started to reach very high temperatures, I've done a few tests in playing cod 4 on max settings for half an hour.

    Here are the results.

CPU max temperature: 88 degrees celsius
Core max GPU temperature: 112 degrees celsius (!)

It happened several times that my computer off everything just himself.
What can I do about it?

    Hello

Have you installed a different 3rd display driver of the part that is not Toshiba? Usually, these drivers are the cause of the high temperatures and can destroy the equipment. So if you have a such display driver remove it and install the latest driver from Toshiba Web site.

In addition, you must clean your laptop at any time using a jet of compressed air:

  • Re: Satellite P300D high temperature - how to clean the ventilation?

    Hello everyone,

After my P300D chrashed several times I noticed that my CPU temperature is too high. Its almost 70 C at idle! (His old now a year and a half)
I read in several Forums as its possible that vents are just full of dust, for example. He would like to open up the laptop, take a look inside and clean.

Yes, I know that I lose the warranty if I do this, but my question is if someone have a step by step description how to do this. Maybe someone does this also.

Please, I'd be all good advice.

    Hello

It s not necessary to disassemble the laptop to clean the fans and remove dust.
You can do this without disassembly

Use the jet of compressed air. The jet of compressed air would remove the dust of grids and cooling fans. This support and this procedure has helped me as well.

  • Satellite L300 and high temperature - is this normal?

    Greetings

I just bought a Toshiba Satellite L300 - 11 (Intel celeron 550), I\m kind new to laptops, and I realize it's too hot. I used the CPUID hardware monitor software, and it shows that:
-ACPI THRM temperatures going as high as 63c (145f)
-the processor is going up to 65 c (148f)
-the HARD disk goes up to 45 c (112f)

My questions are: is this normal for a laptop to reach these temperatures? I mean the touchpad and the area around it is annoyingly hot all the time (especially in the summer time where its already hot weather)
Other models or brands have similar temperatures?

And is it a Toshiba tool to monitor temperatures, rather than using third-party software?

    Thanks for any help.

I don't know much about the temperature of the Celeron processor.

My Toshiba L300 came with Hitachi 120 GB HDD, CPU T2370 upgraded to T7100:
-HDD: max: 45 (watching ripped DVD on hard disk), 30 min (surf the internet, play warcraft III), average: 38 (using Microsoft, Photoshop and programming tools)
-CPU: 43 to 57, penalty going up to 63.
    -ACPI: Min: Max: 43: 56

Hope that these figures will give you some tips.

  • Satellite A205-s4707: High Temperature of the touchpad and HARD drive

    Hello

just bought a toshiba satellite A205-s4707 notebook PC series and my problem is that my touch pad becomes heat when I use to a few ours.
Is - this normal, also my drive hard temperature reaches 135 degrees fahrenheit.

If you can help me with my problem will appreciate

HM, I Don t think it's a problem because your machine is not working properly, doesn´t it?

I mean, you really have a system very powerful which is packaged in a minimum of size.

Please compare your machine with a desktop computer and you will recognize that you have some cooling devices well less than a desktop computer with a similar performance. So, Don t worry, it's normal that a laptop gets a little warmer.

If something begins to melt, then it s critical. :) But sometimes won´t. ;)

  • Satellite A350D - too high temperature of the processor

    Hello guys.

My laptop CPU temperature is too high. I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64 - bit edition. And the temperature at idle is ~ 70, she raises up to 98 C when loading the system. It happens only with 64-bit OS. 32-bit Windows idle temperature is ~ 40-50 ° C.
I have the model A350D PSAKCE.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

There is a new version of 64-bit BIOS.
In your case, I recommend to check the version of the BIOS.
If you still use an older version of BIOS (perhaps 32 bits), then you need to update it to the latest version of BIOS 64-bit.

    Good luck

  • Satellite L350-14F - high temperature

I own a L350-14F and going crazy from the heat and the noise of the fans.
Temperatures of 70-75 degrees CELSIUS (= 160-165) are 'normal' for a few minutes after starting.
The hottest areas are on the side left (where the fan is) and on the upper right of the touchpad.
These times are really standard... even when I'm not using it!
With some intensive programs, I even noticed 92 degrees CELCIUS!

I tried to reinstall everything and assuming that it was caused by a faulty driver or something. But not.
Using the Toshiba restore disks, did not help.
Using an original CD of Windows Vista has not helped either
Update all the drivers have not helped either

    There is one thing that helps, but slows down the laptop;
in the BIOS there is a parameter named "Multi-Core-transformation" which has 2 options

    * Dynamic
    * Always low

Initially, it is located in Dynamics.
But when I set to always low temperatures, less than about 45 degrees Celsius, (and the fans are not as strong).
It is not a real solution but it solves the problem of heat

The machine is completely up to date with all the drivers, patches and updates (even vista SP2)
But also after a full restore using the Toshiba disc problem stay.

Anyone knows a solution or cause?

Thank you very much for the comments.

On this forum that a lot of people want to use non-Toshiba display driver and I've tried to explain as many times that these drivers are not optimized and tested on Toshiba laptops.
I am very happy that you confirm my opinion on these drivers.

You got your laptop with the tested drivers. Perhaps the graphic performance is not the best but graphics card is not required to run at high or maximum level. The laptop will be cooled properly, the cooling fan will be not strong and constantly run and, of course, there is no risk of damaging the equipment.

55 degrees is certainly normal working temperature.

    Good bye

  • Satellite L850 - 13p high temperature and lag PSKDNE game while

    Hello

as you can see from the pictures that my laptop is to do very hot ween playing just five minutes in any game... and the part of frustrating, it of ween happens to 100 ° c the games lag becose the cpu between thermal protection and lowers the frequency but after the cooler starts to spin only it it cools and the frame of the game rate returns to normal...

Is there something I can do to keep the cooler at a constant rate of RPM?

One of my friends has a laptop from other manufacturer who is 17 "with i5 and and the same video card and this is not the case at all naturally cooler HES is so quiet...

Sorry for my English hope you understand guys and pls [http://postimg.org/image/qxm5wa3l9/] see the picture I have attached.

    Thank you!

    > computer laptop gets very hot ween playing just five minutes in any game... and the frustrating part is that he ween arrives at 100 c the games lag becose the cpu between thermal protection and lowers the frequency but after the cooler starts to spin it it cools and the frame of the game rate returns to normal...

As you say; the game starts late because the temperature increases to a critical level. That's GPU and CPU performance should be lowered until the temperature would come down.
To me, it seems that the internal parts can not be properly cooled.

To ensure a cooling performance better, please make sure that the cooling fans would be free of dust and air can circulate properly.

Also I recommend you to check the parameters of cooling in the Windows power management settings. The parameters of the single electric plan contains options to control different devices, while the laptop is running in battery mode or to the main stream.
You can set the modules of cooling performance. I think it would be also desirable to diminish the value of 85%-90% max CPU performance, just to check if it would help to eliminate the delay.

  • High temperatures in a Satellite M70

    Hello

hope someone can help me, I'm having a problem of overheating with my Satellite M70. Recently, the hard drive or cpu, I don't know, seems really hot after that the laptop was only a short time of use. I saw the fan at full speed before and well cooled pc, but now really won't work at all.

When my computer decides to heat and the fan comes to life and even then not at full speed and not for a long time. I tried using speedfan, but it does not recognize my fan and he can go faster. It is not yet as something something intense, I could play half-life for example and in just 10 minutes slows down considerably.

Grateful for any advice maxing out the fan speed, will lower the temperature of my computer by 10 degrees C.

    Hello

Since last November, I have Satellite M70-159. I must say that in the last days I also noticed that the laptop is pretty hot but it works without any problem. To be honest, it works day and night. Just sometimes I switch off during the night.

The HARD disk temperature is between 55 and 62 degrees. It is much more than on my old laptop Tecra with temperature of 40 degrees HARD drive.

I've never cleaned my Satellite but maybe this is the time to do it. I don't know how old is your but maybe you should do the same.

  • Question about the temperature of the CPU on Satellite M70

My laptop Satellite M70 cpu is always at 80 ° c... Is this normal? Just 4 months.

    Hello

Well, you should know that the CPU temperature depends on different factors.
If you are running high-performance applications and the CPU works with maximum performance, so the temp will increase.
Also if the cooling modules don t run properly or is set to a low cooling method the CPU temperature will increase.

But generally, if the laptop works properly and that you have not noticed a strange if automatically turn off the bottom so I guess everything works fine.
The laptop supports protection against overheating and if the temperature is too high the OS stops the laptop.

  • Satellite A300-1ID - high CPU temperature

    Hello

I have a Satellite A300-1ID, 2 years and since I bought the computer I felt he was always hot, but I guess that's normal.
In the first year I wasn't playing any recent games, computer was at a normal temperature, but this year, I bought a few games and the computer after an hour + - gameplay disable because overheating. I have a program to see the temperature of the cpu and when I play it is around 80 - 90 c: O

I post this topic because the atm, even with the computer only @ office, with the low CPU, my cpu usage is around 70 ° c. It's a little high, I guess, because it was about 50 ° c some time ago. The idea how to improve the cooling of the computer? already cleaned the fan, and I also use a base so the "fabric" of the table be stick to the fan.

This high temperature is normal for this model?

    Best regards, leech

    Hello

    > the cpu temperature, and when I play it's around 80 - 90 c

There is nothing unusual, playing games makes Cpu and Gpu hard.

    > . The idea how to improve the cooling of the computer? already cleaned the fan, and I also use a base so the "fabric" of the table be stick to the fan.

You can't have the cooling of your laptop module improve you. Theoretically, you can do it if you a computer engineer. I want to find more powerful fan, calculate the rated output, voltage...
You can also get a cooling pad, it's not expensive. Maybe, you need to replace a thermal grease.
