Higher of Windows Experience Index rating with OLD machines

I'm a computer technician at the Brazil. I noticed that a few old machines, certain factors, have better performance than current. The difference is not visible in the points leader, but in use. Open programs or install a LOT more quickly. When this happened, the performance index, marks high score for HD as 7.3 for common HDD Samsung F3 (different from normal 5.9). Stroller?
Anyone know anything about this?

Examples:

Machine 1:

Motherboard: ECS A785GM-M

Processor: Athlon X 4 640

RAM: 2 x 2 GB Kingston DDR3 1333 Mhz

HARD drive: Samsung 1 TB

HD Wei score: 7.3

Machine 2:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77M-D3H

CPU: Intel i7 2500 K
RAM: 4 x 4 GB Kingston DD3 1333 Mhz

HDD: Raid0 2 x HD 1 TB SATA3 SEAGATE 7200 RPM ST100DM003

HD Wei score: 6.1

The first machine, "slower" than the second victory of common (open, install, manipulate programs, etc.). In the benchmarks, the second victory. Together with the operating system Windows 7 Professional 64-bit with updated drivers.

Sorry my bad English.

Hello VbCrayon,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

Score index performance Windows (WEI) rates your computer on the five main elements, giving you a number for each. Your base score overall, the one that really counts, is as good as your worst performing component. If your video card and monitor are top of the range, but the capabilities of your processor or memory trolling, the primary partition of WEI will be the same as that obtained by the
slower part.

This may not seem fair. But for the average PC user, a low or intermediate Windows experience index score is very good. Your computer will be powerful enough to run the popular Microsoft Office programs (such as Microsoft Word), surf the Internet, store and edit photos, and communicate via a webcam.

Windows Experience Index measures the capability of the hardware and software of your computer configuration and expresses this measurement as a number called a base score. A higher base score means that your computer will perform better and faster than a computer with a score of lower base, especially when more advanced and resource-intensive tasks running.

Each hardware component receives an individual under-score. Your computer
base score is determined by the lowest subscore.

[I have two almost identical laptops Lenovo T61p and running W7 64 Ultimate b: has] has an Intel T7700 processor and 8 GB of RAM. [B] has a CPU of Intel T8300 with 4 GB of RAM. They are clocked at 2.6 GHz and have identical hard drives.

When the system is running Windows Experience Index, it does to 2.6 GHz. It doesn't matter what is the result.

When the system B runs the WEI, it becomes 780 MHz. In the end, he will return to run at 2.6 GHz. Needless to say that it will reduce its index to I / 2 of the other system. During any normal operation, the processor remains a 2.6 GHz

All other values of the indices are similar and irrelevant.

As far as I checked, the two system has the same configuration of power to maximum performance, I did not miss something. MSCONFIG are also identical.

Any ideas about where to look to fix this behavior?

  • Windows Experience Index problem: could not measure the performance of video playback

My pc is not yet rated. When I click on rate appears on this computer, a msg error saying that Windows Experience Index for your system could not be calculated, could not measure the PERFORMANCE of VIDEO PLAYBACK. What should I do. Help, please

    Hello

Here are a few things to check before launching performance index Windows (WEI).

    • Quit all running programs, and restart the computer before running the assessment (WEI).
    • Check with the manufacturer of the computer or the motherboard manufacturer for BIOS updates.
    • Make sure you have the latest Windows 7 compatible drivers for the graphics device installed (video card).
    • If you have any third-party media players installed, uninstall them until the end of the evaluation of the WEI.
    • If you have installed any third-party Media Codecs, try to uninstall them until the end of the evaluation of the WEI.

Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the folder C:\WINDOWS\Performance\WinSAT .

You should see the following 8 videos.

    2 files with .mp4 extension.

3 files with the .mpg file extension.

3 files with .wmv file extension.

Double-click each of these files. They should open and play in Windows Media Player. These are the files that WEI runs video performance.

One thing to remember is that the WEI score is only an indicator of the ability of the main components of hardware on the computer. It has no effect on the performance of the system.

    Tell us what you find.

  • Change of the Windows experience index

Hi there, my Pc has pre installed Windows 7 installed. Now, one day when I play VICE CITY. My computer is same trolling even if I play in this situation of delay, it will stop. Because of that I got my PC Factory Condition but still the game is late and now side processor pc has changed in windows Experience Index. I don't change any parts of my pc, I don't understand why games are late. A few times, my side of processor decreases in windows experience and sometimes to normal side index. Can someone explain me what is the cause of this problem? However, there is no 100% malware. Only the processor rating evolving performance remaining all index are constant. It evolves 6.0 5.0 or 4.5 and sometimes go back to 6.0. My processor is Intel I3 - 2330M which has no turbo boost option

    Hi root,

    • The problem is specific to this game?

'Delay' is a phenomenon in the computer game that appears when there is a delay between entering commands on a keyboard or a controller and seeing that the command has acted on the screen. For example, in "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" for the PC, shift may occur when you press the button 'Next', but your character is not actually start moving until a few moments later.

Make sure to install the latest version of the game, or sometimes, there might be a patch released by the game manufacturer.

The offset can be from a setting that is not compatible with your computer. For example, open the "Screen Resolution" menu and set the screen resolution of the game for a lower than setting that it is currently set to. Check if that helps.

    Thank you.

  • Tecra A10-112 - Windows Experience Index 3.4?

The WEI score is 3.4 with all default settings. The details are the following:

    Processor: 5.4
    Memory: 5.1
    Graphics (office performance): 3.4
    Games graphics: 3.6
    Hard drive: 5.2

I know that the integrated graphics card isn't help the score in any way. Toshiba A300D-15 b with AMD CPU 2.1 scores 4.8 which has a graphics card dedicated.

Do not play games, but the disappointing thing is that the performance of office are less than the score of the game.

Now the question is do I seriously take WEI or the integrated graphics (Intel GMA 4500MHD) is quite good for the time being and for Windows 7?

Please take into account the fact that A10 - 112 has a resolution of 1680 x 1050 and I think to the graphics card integrated is no match for this resolution in particular with Vista, what you think?

    Hello

To be honest I think nothing of it. The Windows experience index is ok, but in my opinion it s not really significant.

    But some values are interesting;
As much as I know graphics performance score Office represents s graphic performance of the system using the Windows Aero Desktop feature. As you've experienced the Aero needs a lot of graphical resources and in my opinion, this value is lower.

But generally the Mobile Intel GMA 4500MHD isn't bad.
Graphics memory (performance) can increase the upgrade of the main RAM.
Thus, for example Vista 32 bit OS:

    RAM 1 GB - dedicated video memory = 64 MB - system memory shared = 158MB - TOTAL graphic memory available = 286MB
    2 GB RAM - dedicated video memory = 128 MB - = 702MB - TOTAL graphic memory available = 830MB shared system memory
RAM 3 GB - dedicated video memory = 128 MB - = 1214 MB - TOTAL graphic memory available = 1342 MB shared system memory
4 GB RAM - dedicated video memory = 128 MB - = 1214 MB - TOTAL graphic memory available = 1342 MB shared system memory

    Vista 64-bit OS:
    RAM 1 GB - dedicated video memory = 64 MB - system memory shared = 158MB - TOTAL graphic memory available = 286MB
    2 GB RAM - dedicated video memory = 128 MB - = 702MB - TOTAL graphic memory available = 830MB shared system memory
RAM 3 GB - dedicated video memory = 128 MB - = 1214 MB - TOTAL graphic memory available = 1342 MB shared system memory
4 GB RAM - dedicated video memory = 128 MB - = 1631 MB - TOTAL graphic memory available = 1759 MB shared system memory

  • Satellite L655-11J - result of the memory of the Windows experience index

    The results are
    Processor: 6.9
    Memory RAM: 5.9
    Graphics: 6.7
    G game: 6.7
    Hard disk: 5.9 Toshiba mk5059GSXP

The result of the memory is too low?

    Hey,.

Why is the result of memory too low? The score is still good scores even other parts are better.

In addition, the Windows experience index is not important in my opinion. You can see a few numbers at the end, but what to do with it? I don't see a reason to make such a test if I convinced and satisfied with my computer. Who care about these things other landmarks? ;)

  • = 1.0 Windows experience index

My windows experience index is 1.0. It's so disappointing maybe it's because my graphics/video driver? What do you think? I went down my longs E5-411 of win8.1 for 32-bit win7 and it not there no video driver available online.

your problem was caused by the downgrade your system has been designed with windows 8.1, others have tried what you're doing with some success, don't know what driver intel web page you tried, but I think it's called "Iris", but make sure that it is for the 32 bit Windows 7, since that is what you have installed , but again, you have not all controls function that gives windows 8.1 driver, so you may need other drivers from Intel, such that the "chipset" like just install an older version of windows will give you all the necessary drivers for your system default Windows 8.1 has a lot of hardware nerwer drivers in Windows 7 does not have.

You can try to download driver Intel utility version 2 and running that to see what he can come home with no guarantee that it will work, but just a suggestion that she is a utility designed for updates from the intel driver, another program is called Slimdriver, it will scan your system for the necessary drivers and will locate and download them precision in my experience may be questionable, but it does not work as he says.

I just installed 64-bit Windows 7 Professional (32 bit Home Premium) with a custom installation. Whenever I hit the button refresh index experience, its starts fine, but before finishing it said "Windows experience Index for your system could not be calculated." I tried the bios update, but that did not help. All my drivers are up-to-date. A way to solve this problem?

Check your winsat.log file and see if it indicates that this is the error. You can delete the .xml files in the winsat DATA and starting from an elevated command prompt, try the formal line of command "winsat" without the quotes to see if it works that way. I found that my anti virus program (Kaspersky) blocked WEI to save the results. Disabeling Kaspersky did not. You need to uninstall, run WEI, then reinstall Kaspersky.
