and I want to know database of historical patch, how is it active?

Is there a special action or only depends on mode adpatch?

Thank you.

Hello

Nothing special to do.

adpatch records all actions of correction in the database and it can be displayed in OAM or questioning the relevant tables.

  • Configuration of a historical database of separate management

I am deploying new infrastructure Active 7 roles alongside my ARS 6.9 production. Of all the ARS earlier versions, I kept the Configuration and the history of management within the same database, for example ActiveRoles69.

I want to sever the two databases above.

Can someone enlighten as on all the advantages and disadvantages of the separate databases?

Someone has set up separate databases in production, and if so, can you provide a positive feedback or negative of this decision?

    Thanks for any comments.
    -Steve

I always recommend to have separate databases, for several reasons.

With an active role, the management history database is not just a static database. It's actually the product performance data. Write to the database as we of the tasks, and then run reports by querying the actual work that has been done. In busy environments, or environments have been the history of change in retention period has been increased beyond the default of 30 days, this can mean that the execution of the SQL instance hosting the database of management history can actually be a bottleneck for performance of the product. Separate databases makes it easy to migrate the database of management resources for new equipment or a cluster if necessary more gourmet story.

In addition, since the history of database management is read from and written to many more often, it is more likely to suffer from malformation, since the software is a public medium. This can sometimes mean that the history of management database must be archived, a new database created and the data recovered using the wizard to transfer in the history of management or the control center roles Active. It is a resource that I created to help with the rare cases:

This process is much easier if the databases are separated.

  • Purge old events of databases "historical".

    Hello

We look at some events in our historical databases see purge.  We've got floating pools that refresh on logoff user for the databases become big enough (> 30 GB).  I saw KB 1025914, but which refers the vCenter tasks and events.  Does anyone have experience with databases event_data_historical (and event_historical)?

    Thank you

    Troy

I am posting this because I hade the same question. My database of the event proved to be HUGE. Since we decided that we didn't need the old data, I decided to find a way to purge some data.

The sql query, I used is gross, but it worked. I'm not anything close to a person of sql query.

delete from [View-Event].[dbo].[v_event_data_historical] where EventID in (select EventID from [View-Event].[dbo].[v_event_historical] where Time < DATEADD(day,-30,getdate()))
    delete from [View-Event].[dbo].[v_event_historical] where Time < DATEADD(day,-30,getdate())

Our database is called event so our table prefixes are v_ and you will need to change your settings.

    the

    Time < DATEADD(day,-30,getdate()

is what I use to get specify anything older then 30 days. You want to change it to match your desires of retention.

I created a sql job to run this monthly to keep my size of database failure.

I'm sure there are better ways to do it, but it's the best I could come up with in the 20 minutes of time I had to work on it.

  • DSC: recognize the historical alarms

    Hello

I have some problems with the DSC alarms data contained in the historical database.

The situation: the Shared Variable engine broken several times while my application is running (don't ask why). This lead somehow to alarms unrecognized in the historical database. The problem is that they cannot be recognized more by using recognition of vi alarm. My view alarm history always shows them as not being recognized and the user tries to recognize without success.

Is it possible to get rid of these skeletons of alarm?

  • Management of historical data in BPM

    Hi all

We have a requirement of the company in need of a historical report of business transactions made in the process of BPM (mainly of the certifications of workflow). There are about 150 transactions per day with detailed data. We will have discussions about how to manage this requirement:

    1. first of all, we have proposed to use our platform of BI (OBIEE) for these reports, but they serve operationally, for purposes of analysis/Analytics not

    2. We then began to explore the option to retain historical BPM transactions, since they are not too a day although they do not contain a lot of data (and historical data should be stored for up to 2 years). Personally, I don't like this option because BPM should not be used for this purpose, but the same thing happens for option 1, when you try to use the BI platform for something, so that it is not intrinsically designed.

What do you think? What would you recommend?

Any comments will be appreciated. Thank you very much in advance,

    -Carlos

    Hi Carlos,

Then, you must check the data directly on the screen of work or can be made available through an area of the screen/application?

Regardless of the answer, you make reports based on tables in the Oracle BPM/SOA engine.

My suggestion would be for you to build a data base that contains relevant activity data for reports. This database can be filled using the task of human events that are triggered automatically when a task status changes in the BPM engine.

For example, when a task is assigned to someone, the engine fires a reminder which can then take the relevant information of process and task and place it in the historical database.

In this way, you can have your reports made during this DB in some technology that you prefer. Oracle BI Publisher, for example, or just a nice display of the user interface with search capabilities.

To learn more about human task events, see this document

    http://docs.Oracle.com/middleware/1213/BPM/BPM-develop/SOA-BPM-human-task-design.htm#BPMPD87372

If you would like more information, feel free to say.

    See you soon

  • Details on the Oracle patches

Hello, I am new to Oracle and try to get information about the following hotfixes:

Oracle Grid Infrastructure Patch value update 11.2.0.3.7 (including the PSU 11.2.0.3.7 database) - 16742216
Database Security Patch day 11.2.0.3.0 (CPUJUL2013)

The update 11.2.0.3.7 value database patch (includes CPUJUL2013)

Could someone help me find the details of these updates.  I searched around Oracle site and google for them, but mostly I am subject to an oracle connection or the blog of someone.  If it's easy could someone possibly provide details here in this thread?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Question about PSU patch when IM and DB are different version

    Hello world

I have some doubts when it comes to the application of patches to the PSU, when the House of GI and DB House are different versions.

I have 2 node RAC on RHEL 5 cluster.
My home grid Infrastructure is running version 11.2.0.3 while my 11.2.0.2 RDBMS RAC is.

I know that the PSU of grid Infrastructure also includes the power supply of the database and that it should be applied in two homes the same version.
When patching my RDBMS RAC at home (11.2.0.2); should I install the PSU IM for 11.2.0.2 or only the part of the RAC database?

    For example:
installation 11.2.0.2.6 PSU which consists of 13696242 (game of Grid infrastructure update fixes) and 13696224 (database updated Patch to update).
Should I ignore the 13696242 and just install 13696224? Or do I have to install both.

    Thank you.

    Hello

ignore the part of IM and use the - oh flag on DB home only.

  • What is the latest version of the Oracle database?

    Hello

    I have 10 g and 11 g instances.

Oracle 12 x? been released yet and it is quite ready for prime time?

    Thank you, John

You can find the latest version by going to MOS and clicking on the certification tab. It varies.

When 12 c is released, he won't be ready for prime time. It's called "using your customers in beta" or "to be on the cutting edge." If it is appropriate for a given site, depends on.

Versions are somewhat arbitrary, as the distance between point releases is sometimes as much between versions. Sometimes new features of the version are backported to earlier versions. Who can't too.

MOS release schedule of data releases current [742060.1 ID] and roadmap for Oracle database releases patches [1360790.1 ID] group are worth keeping an eye.

But honestly, there will be a big hoopla on the net when it becomes official.

  • Manager Update and patching ESX hosts

We have 2.5u3 with ESX 3.5u2 VC.

We want to use VMware Update Manager to patch the ESX host. I created a reference database containing patches ESX and attached to a host ESX to test. I have a scanner and it came with 28 patches that need to be installed, which is ESX update 1.

Why would it need to install ESX 1 update when we already run ESX Update 2?

No idea, or do I just exclude it?

This is a bug of gui... it will not be applied.
