Upgrade of database EBS - patch 17501296

Hi all

I am upgrading a database of the EBS R12 of 11.1.0.7 to 11.2.0.4 as per notes 1058763.1 .

While applying patch 17501296 , we have to run the postinstall.sql. Do we need to apply it to the database running the old house?

Kind regards

Vinod

You must run this script (and all other scripts to fix post) after upgrading 11.2.0.4 database are completed

  • Upgrade of Oracle EBS base 10.2.0.4 for Oracle Database 12 c

    Hi gurus,

We are in the process of upgrading our EBS Oracle 10g database to 12 c and so below are the steps we took to upgrade the database with dbua 12 c

We have improved our database 10g of 10.2.0.4 to 10.2.0.5 compatible for the direct 12 c with dbua upgrade

    1 - install the Oracle 12 c software

    2. run the file from Oracle EBS environment that set the ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID, but not ORACLE_BASE for the database that is upgraded

    3 - Go to the ORACLE_HOME\bin 12 c and run. / dbua

4 - 12 c dbua GUI appeared, but this isn't picking the 10g database in the Source ORACLE_HOME

What could be the cause and how is - this solve

  • Upgrade of database 10.2.0.4 on Linux 64

    Hello

My client has R12.0.6 EBS with 10.2.0.4 database and we want to improve our EBS to R12.1.1, then R12.1.3 (Linux 64-bit platform)

Question: Going through the documentation, I noticed that it is easier if we:

-first improve our database to some 11 GR 2 version 10.2.0.4 and

    - then upgrade the EBS 12.0.6 in 12.1.1.

But I can't find the MOS document that recommends the latest version of the software gR 11, 12, we should upgrade to. Somewhere I found that what follows but who want to have some MOS document for it.

    -GR 11, 1 (11.1.0.7) material certified for 11i, 12.0, 12.1.

    -11 GR 2 (11.2.0.1) certified for 11i, 12.0, 12.1 on most platforms.

Can I upgrade the database 10.2.0.4 to 11.2.01 or 11.2.0.3 or even later?

    Thank you

The link is available above, here it is again https://blogs.oracle.com/stevenChan/entry/12_1_0_1_db

See also, (interoperability Notes EBS 12.0 or 12.1 with RDBMS (Doc ID 1524398.1) 12cR1).

You can perform a direct database Oracle 12 c upgrade if your current Oracle database is the 10.2.0.5, 11.1.0.7, or 11.2.0.2 version or later. If your current Oracle database is older than the version 10.2.0.5, or is the version 11.2.0.1, then directly the 12 c Oracle database upgrade is not supported. In this case, you are required to switch to an intermediate version before upgrading to the new version of Oracle 12 c database, or you must choose another upgrade as import/export method.

    Kind regards.

Is there any space stage, do we do if we have implemented SSO after upgrade DB 11 g and 7 ATG?

You can follow the same approach to upgrade the database and apply the fixes 7 ORS ATG group level.

Please make sure that you apply the patches in (known issues on top of 11i. ATG_PF. H.Delta.7 (RUP7) - 6241631 [858801.1 ID]). In addition, make a full backup before you start this on your instance of production and if possible get an instance cloned with SSO enabled and test all patches on an identical instance.

  • problem with upgrade of database with read only tablespace

    Hi all

When we try to upgrade of database 10.2.0.1.0 to 10.2.0.5.0 on Linux x 86. Unfortunately, we have two or three table spaces are read-only mode. The dbua compiled by saying that he is not able to resize read only tablespace. So we used manual upgrade using catupgrd.sql. Before running the catupgrd.sql that we tried to change playback that in none of them only worked in the line/ofline watch still read only. After upgrade we noticed some components are not valid are

Oracle Workspace Manager INVALID 10.2.0.5.0 00:01:04
Oracle Data Mining INVALID 10.2.0.5.0 00:00:52

Could you please help how to solve this one. Database is started fine and operational. But we cannot do these tablespace to online and how to fix the above components not valid. Any help is much appreciated.

    Kind regards.

    Hello

    Yes the catupgrd.sql is re-courable.

Please read carefully the README, in chapter manually upgrading a 10.2 database that the main steps are:

-Start of the database in UPGRADE mode.

-Run utlu102i.sql in order to check the database before the upgrade.

    -Run the catupgrd.sql.

-Check the patch.log error file and inspect the components list that is displayed at the end of the catupgrd.sql script. This list gives the version and State of each SERVER component in the database.

-If necessary, rerun the script catupgrd.sql after correction of problems.

    -etc...

You will have many tips of the README, and it is essential to follow.

Of course, before doing anything, it is important to get a good backup of the database.

    Hope this helps.

  • ORA-00904 on upgrade of database

I was running without fix 10.2.0.1.0 Oracle x 64 on Windows XP x 64. Our philosophy of these products has been that if it ain't broke, don't break with updates, but we are forced to update by federal regulation. As we go through the trouble, we decided on 11.1.0.X to match all our other facilities.

I backed up the database before doing anything. I've migrated the ASM instance for 11.1.0.7 successfully. Then I patched the 10.2.0.5 database successfully, so that the zone versions would correspond. I started the all invalid objects recompile, but whenever I recompiled some, others would be present as invalid. I had a script that goes through this during about an hour before you abandon it, read somewhere that the upgrade process is recompiled invalid objects. After relinquishing to recompile everything, I put all the environment variables for the 11.1 database, and ran the upgrade of database. During the stage of "Upgrading Oracle Workspace Manager", I got an error ORA-00904 and messages on an invalid identifier and no data found. It gives me the option "Cancel" or "ignore".

I don't know what to do at this point. I didn't even know about the workspace far Manager. I guess by ignoring the error is not sure, but that is just, based on previous experiences of calculation. Give up everything to restore to the State it was in before the upgrade? I can restore the original software and restart the process, but I don't know what I have to do differently. I also ignored warnings of statistics the optimizer vitiated in schemas sys and sysman (after the collection of statistics for the whole of the base), patterns with objects dependent of network packets (the guide says to set the ACL after the upgrade) and a warning that the control of Enterprise Manager repository exists in the database (that I have not used since we first installed the base data).

OWM has a history of problems with upgrade. Ignore and it will be not upgraded after this upgrade 'failed' and it isn't a problem if you do not use. Of course, no one likes to discover such a problem, but after the end of the level and after the patch you should be able to upgrade the Workspace Manager simply with a performance of $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/owmupgrd.plb
    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/B28359_01/AppDev.111/b28396/long_migrate.htm
(I suggest you reproduce the whole process on a test 10.2.0.5 database for make your own conclusion of course)

    Hello

I need to upgrade oracle 10.2.0.1 (base) at 10.4.0.4 in a fail-safe cluster.

    Issues related to the:

    1. If I upgrade each node as a single server, cluster ¿fail-safe can work with 2 nodes in different versions? (for example a week for restoration)

    2. I read how to upgrade a cluster Fail-Safe metalink document. Please, can someone tell me the best shape (or logic) to 10.2.0.1 in 10.2.0.4 in this cluster?

    for example:

    1. backup database
    2. turn to level the node 1 to 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.4 (following metalink document)
    3. test data and applications
    4. a week later the same node 2 (only if she is eventually run oracle in different versions in failsafe, install the 2 node after node 1 works fine)

It s my first environment failsafe and I m not sure how to do it.

  • Migration and upgrade of databases

    Hello

We intend to migrate from the data center to the new location. The new data center already have the hardware. We must move the dump data and upgrade the database. Our database most are on Oracle

10g solar UNIX and the new material is on Oracle 11.2.0.4 with Linux (Oracle or Redhat Linux). Do the following activity:

    (1) taking the export on the basis of existing data.

    (2) move the dump of the export to the new location, as well as archived data that is stored in the Ribbon. (this is where a suggestion required more about different ways to do it).

    (3) import and the upgrade of the database in the new location.

Might suggest a certain to please the strategy and useful tool which, for this activity.

You should move all the 100 + databases in a window of 48 hours with datapump? It is a command

What is the capacity of the network (i.e. How fat is the pipe) between the two locations and how pieces are? As a general rule, there should be no loss of data or corruption during the transfer of files over a network. The time required for move/upgrade a database of 300G can only be determined by performing a test upgrade that looks close in the middle of production.

    Thank you

Because no modification of schema and 5.1 to 5.1U1 is a minor version, there is no upgrade of database for any minor update. If you upgrade virtual Center 5.1 5.1 U1, then you will not get a wizard where it asks for the backup of the DB.
