Home page keeps changing start.search
This morning my homepage in FF and IE are passed to start.search.us.com. I managed to uninstall start.search (use Revo Uninstaller; it does not appear in Control Panel of configuration/programs). I was able to change my home page in Internet Explorer to what I want and it seems to "stick". But whenever I restart FF home page I had previously put switches back to start.us. I can find no evidence of start.search in Add-ons, Extensions etc. I think I know where it came from - I clicked a little too fast on some free software and spotted the search thing too late. I saw some extremely complicated explanations and recommendations for this problem in FF somewhere with a lot of comments that the substance was indecipherable and didn't work anyway. Any suggestions? I saw a suggestion that uninstall FF and then put it back can be remedied. T it? If so I can do it quite easily - save my favorites and the relocation of the single add-on I've used for months.
In addition, if the problem persists, you can try to start the Task Manager (right click on the task bar) > process > Show processes from all users. You can then search online suspicious Image name and try to uninstall the external program from Windows behind the suspicious name via the start menu or Windows Control Panel > programs and features, or at least changes of settings in the external Windows program. Firefox home page has changed to open yahoo instead of google.
My default home page has changed somehow. The page always shows the Firefox logo with a search bar, but that pressing the button 'Search' opens Yahoo instead of Google.
I tried the add on "Reset" but he lost too much of my settings and add ons. I had to restore my original Firefox.Okay, I think I found it. I have disabled all of my extensions, deleted the file prefs.js again and then activated the extensions one by one. When I got one called Pdforge toolbar (or something like that), I've read about it and don't know why I never installed. I didn't even try to enable it, I just removed it. But I reinabled all others and the homepage is to stay with Google.
Whoopee!

How can I stop my home page to change it on windows7
Follow the steps here. If it is not listed in the Control Panel, or you are unable to remove it, go to step 2 and continue with the rest steps. HitmanPro may not be necessary. -
Today, I had a lot of trouble with my computer. I think that he was attacked by something underhanded, but I managed to stop it and fix everything. Everything about this thing.
When I open the firefox browser, it will not automatically to my home page, despite having followed all the instructions to do this. Instead, it opens in an engine search called 'awesomehp' that, previously, never heard and never installed. When I click on the 'home' - button, it goes to my real home page, and everything is ok.
I tried to uninstall it... "awesomehp" engine of research, but it ALWAYS appears automatically when I open FireFox. Why? And this is even after I have reset FireFox settings by default once.
Why this happens, and what can I do about it?
Looks like you picked up a pirate of the page. See this for help to get rid of it:

At the start of my new home page appears. But after I have visited other sites and you want to go 'home', a previous home page appears.
Turns out the problem was the identification of 'House' in the name of 'Home' in my bookmarks toolbar. When I clicked on the House to the right of the address bar icon, he was always to the good homepage newly identified. But if I clicked on 'House' name in the bookmarks toolbar, he went to the old location.
So, I changed the identification of this bookmark and the problem was solved.

Make a check of malware with some scan of malware programs. You need to scan with all programs, because each program detects a different malicious program. Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database prior to scanning.

There is usually a large icon of Firefox, then it changed to a map, now it's a shooting gallery. How can you check this?
If you prefer not to see excerpts on the topic: home page, you can set the pref browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl an empty string on the about: config page.
Delete the storage\moz-security-about + House in Firefox with Firefox profile folder closed to remove code snippets stored in IndexedDB and do use a default set of Firefox.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:
- Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: see file (Linux: open the directory;) Mac: View in the Finder)
You can reset the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl the default pref to reactivate the code snippets.

Home page keeps coming back on MSN despite my resetting
The past several times Firefox was closed and restarted (sometimes), the homepage appears as MSN instead of my usual home page. I go into the Tools/General and want to return to my home page and it works for this session, but the next time Firefox restarted, it came back to MSN again. I have almost never visit MSN and have not recently. I never remember to ask for MSN to my homepage, and it did not this until very recently.
Hi chodgkin,
You should take a look at the Knowledge Base How to set the home pagearticle. Your home page might have been changed by a particular site. Sites like MSN, Yahoo, etc. have been ask to become your homepage.
There are the steps in this article to reset your preferences on the default home page. I would try everything first to clear all strangeness. If it works, you can try to set your homepage again to your personal preferences.
If this does not work, you should look at article unsaved Preferences.
Hope this helps!

My Yahoo homepage was fine when I accessed this morning. After going to my email, the homepage is no longer configured. However, when I access my Yahoo home page using Internet Explorer, it is correct. What did Firefox? How to make my homepage back to the correct configuration is?
If you decide to try one last thing, here are a few general tips:
When you have a problem with a particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clear your browser cache and delete your cookies for the site.
(1) delete the Cache of Firefox
See: How to clear the cache of Firefox. If you have a large hard drive, this may take a few minutes.
(2) remove the cookies from the site (waiting for work save first). While displaying a page on the site, try either:
- Right click and select View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies".
- (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > 'view the Cookies '.
- Click on the globe or padlock icon in the address bar > additional information > "View Cookies".
In the dialog box that opens, you can delete cookies from the site individually.
Then try to reload the page and sign in again. Who help me?

Firefox home page search and click right options does not.
After updating Firefox hoping to increase the speed of response, I have found that a right click on a web page address does a menu appear much longer than before, which is correct, but now none of these options seem to work. 'Open the link in a new tab' does not work, nothing happens. Similarly, 'Copy link location' does not work, or 'copy image' for the photos. Also my Firefox home page, which is a search for Firefox, not working, when a search item is entered and 'Search' clicked, the entry disappears and nothing else happens. To get here to ask for help, I had to enter www.google.com on the FF browser address line and then use Google search to access these pages in support of Mozilla. I since started Firefox in safe mode without success by allowing these features disabled. I've also updated Firefox once more without success, no change except my Menu bar disappeared. What can I do to revive these features disabled? I don't want to not risk losing my bookmarks.
Thank you!
Uninstall it and reinstall brought the right click functions with the original, much smaller and fortunately preserved inscription my favorites.
