Hello

Thanks for posting the request in the Microsoft community!
I understand that the sound has suddenly stopped working on the computer.

1. What is the brand and model of the computer?
2. don't you make changes on the computer before the show?

Method 1:
You can try the steps in the link and check.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/no-sound-help#no-sound=Windows-Vista&V1H=win8tab1&V2H=win7tab1&V3H=winvistatab1&v4h=winxptab1

Method 2:
Try to set up the speaker for audio devices and see if that helps.

To set up your speakers for the best sound, follow these steps:

a. open peripheral Audio and sound themes by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, hardware and sound, and then clicking sound.

b. click on the playback tab, select speakers and then click Configure.

c. under Audio channels, select which speakers are present in your speaker configuration, and then click Test. You should hear a tone play in each speaker. Click next and follow the instructions to continue the Setup process.

For more details follow the link that talks about the implementation of the speakers.

Get high definition sound and music from your computer

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/get-high-definition-sound-and-music-from-your-computer

Method 3:
You can uninstall and reinstall the sound drivers and check.

You must be logged on as administrator to perform these steps.

a. open the Device Manager by clicking the Start button, click on the Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

(b) in Device Manager join sound, video and game controllers, and then double-click the device name.

c. click on the driver tab and then click on uninstall the driver, and then follow the instructions.

Do not restart the computer
Now, install the drivers already saved to the desktop

    Hello Jack

I imagine that you have these problems, because a few months ago, I read an interesting article on this update and it was written on possible problems after the upgrade procedure. I installed a few times Ultimate on my A200 but as new installation.

What you can try is to install the OS by using recovery media, delete all the stuff designed by Toshiba, including all other software like Norton. After doing this upgrade brand.

When the upgrade is complete, install all the stuff of Toshiba order following facilities described in the instructions for Installations. I A200 with Vista Home Premium but I don't have a media Anytime upgrade and cannot test with my Satellite.

  • can upgrade you vista Home premium to vista professional in order to install windows 7 Professional upgrade?

Husband bought the windows 7 Professional upgrade.  Of course when it did not work and the message was to do a "clean install", we both had type light headed as we thought it that will take all day and probably does not work smoothly since is the most "literate" computer.  I did some internet research and according to microsoft, windows vista business upgrade to windows 7 Professional is an upgrade and not a clean install.  Is it useful to try and uprade my 64-bit edition windows Home premium windows vista professional in order to upgrade to windows 7 Professional?  I don't think we can get our money back because the packaging is open or I would say just that we trade it for ultimate.  If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.  Also I don't know even where to download vista business or haow only as much as it would cost.  Thanks in advance.

N ° there is no way to go from Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional OR Vista business without what you call a 'clean install', so there is no point in spending money to upgrade to Home Premium to business before the upgrade to Windows 7 Professional.  Upgrade Vista Home Premium only allowed on-site is ultimate.

Use Windows Easy Transfer to keep your files and settings.  Then, start the computer with the Windows 7 dvd installation and moving forward.  Do not remove Vista.  Windows 7 upgrade installation should detect a copy installed Windows so that you can use the upgrade product key.  Once you reach the installation type selection screen, you will see the upgrade option is grayed out.  Choose the custom option to continue.

If you want to do a clean install, you can use the tools on the installation type selection screen (until you click on custom) to reformat, etc., but this is not necessary if you don't mind remove the old Windows folder later.  If you start with a blank hard drive your upgrade license will be a problem then don't attempt is not a clean install of the old way.

  • Windows Vista Edition upgrade Home Premium Windows Vista Business

    Hello

I recently bought a HP Pavilion dv6 1199EE laptop and it has a version of Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2 system Type 32 bit installed.

Now, I want this transition to Windows Vista Business full Edition without formatting & reinstall OS because I don't want to lose the features & programs came with the lap top. I would buy the Windows Vista Professional with the product key on the local market in my country.

First of all, I want your advice what is the best Vista professional should I buy?

Second, what are the professional measures to update without formatting the hard drive of my laptop?

    Concerning

    Mr. Sayadi

You cannot upgrade Vista Home Premium to Vista Business.

It is not a Vista upgrade path.

You have clean installation, back up ALL your data and reinstall all the programs.

    Upgrade paths:

-of Vista Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate.
-from Vista Home Premium to Ultimate.
    -from Vista Business to Ultimate

And there's no. Vista Business Ultimate version.

You will need to purchase a full version of Vista Business and do a clean install.

OR buy a Vista Ultimate upgrade version and do a upgrade.

If you do an upgrade to Vista Ultimate, it SHOULD be with a 32-bit Ultimate Upgrade disk.

There is only a single company of Vista, but you can buy the full version 32 bit or 64 bit OS and do a clean install...

All depends on the amount of RAM for the need to use.

  • How downgrade from Vista Home Premium to Vista Home Basic

Original title: I tried to upgrade Vista Home Basic to home premium how to uninstall and restore my previous settings on my laptop in my Home Basic

How can I delete what I've installed and return to my Home Basic

    Hello

    1. Why did you downgrade to Vista Home Basic?
    2. how upgrade from Home Premium?
3 did you use Windows Anytime Upgrade to upgrade?
    4. do you have the basic install of Vista Home Edition support?

You cannot revert to a previous version after you upgrade, the only option you have is to clean install Home Basic. I suggest you back up your data on an external drive or another computer and do a clean install using the installation of Vista Edition family media Basic.

  • upgrade windows basic to home premium windows vista

I installed the new fromrecovery reinstalled hard drive disk tried to upgrade my copy of Home premium update in windows vista says upgrade closed clean istall that only I lose all programs from vista basic none of the features of Home premium my hp compaq is not listed for the upgrade to windows 7

You should be able to upgrade Vista Basic to Vista Home Premium.  To do this, you must first reinstall Vista Basicand activate it.  THEN, you can use the new disk upgraded to Home Premium.  You just can't use the disk to upgrade directly without installled Vista Basic and is running and active.

Since it is a recovery disk, you must contact the manufacturer to explain why you cannot upgrade and help you as the recovery process is to them - not Microsoft.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!
